Abstract:
The aim of the present research was to design and characterize delayed release Multi Unit Particles (MUPS). These were produced primarily for the purpose of oral modified release dosage forms having gastro resistant and delayed-release properties. During the development of MUPS agglomeration, generations of fines and twins formation are identified as critical issues. The delayed release multiple units were prepared by layering drug suspension using Wurster technology. The prepared multi unit particulates consist of successive layers of drug layer (Esomeprazole), barrier coat and enteric coat (

The taste-masking of bitter-tasting active pharmaceutical ingredients is key to ensuring patient compliance when producing oral pharmaceutical formulations. This is generally achieved via the incorporation of pH-responsive, reverse enteric polymers, that prevent the dissolution of the formulation in the oral environment, but rapidly mediate it within the gastric environment. Reverse enteric polymers are commonly applied as coatings on oral dosage forms via spray atomisation (e.g., fluidised-bed spray coating), and generally exhibit the most efficient taste-masking. However, currently used reve

Diabetes mellitus is a disorder in which blood sugar (glucose) levels are abnormally high because the body does not produce enough insulin to meet its needs. The world population with Diabetes mellitus is estimated to be about 387 million and may reach 471 million in 2035. Diabetes is, therefore, considered to be the most common endocrine disease. There is significant evidence supporting the idea of interventions to improve diabetes outcomes, one of them is glycemic control in the basic nutrition. Coconut sugar (Cocos nuciferas. Scanning luminescence x-ray microscopy is based on the use of the very small focussed probe of a scanning x-ray microscope to stimulate visible light emission from dyes usually used in conventional fluorescence microscopy. Using an undulator x-ray source and a Fresnel zone plate to produce a focussed x-ray probe, we have obtained 50–75 nm resolution images of P31 phosphor grains, and we have imaged luminescence from polystyrene spheres loaded with 50–100 μmol/g of fluorescent dye. Pennycress is an annual cover crop in temperate North America and its seeds contain around 30% of oil and 20% of crude protein. Pennycress oil can be used for biodiesel production, while the seed meal has limited use in animal feed due to its relative high content of phenolic compounds and crude fiber. The nutritional value of pennycress meal (PM) can be improved by processing with GRAS fungal strains. In this study, three fungal strains, Rhizopus oryzae (RO), Mucor indicus (MI), and Aspergillus oryzae (AO), were used to ferment PM that contains 21% of total amino acids and 17% of structure ca
