This longitudinal study in schools in Vietnam was one of few internationally to measure both traditional bullying and cyberbullying together and investigate temporal patterns of bullying and its social determinants over an academic year. Surveys were completed with more than 1,400 adolescents. Bullying experiences were common among these young people, but were inherently unstable over time. There were strong links between bullying and mental health problems (depressive symptoms, distress, and suicidal ideation).
