This paper presents a novel improved firefly algorithm (IFA) to deal the problem of the optimal operation of thermal generating units (OOTGU) with the purpose of reducing the total electricity generation fuel cost. The proposed IFA is developed based on combining three improvements. However, there is limited information on the residual properties of masonry units after exposure to elevated temperatures. This research addresses the aforementioned gap by investigating the residual properties of four representative masonry units; clay bricks, concrete blocks, compressed stabilized earth blocks and lightweight foam blocks. The study aimed at determining variations in physical and mechanical properties, including visual appearance, density, and c

<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">With the transition of vehicles to electric drivetrains comes also the need to find solutions for fun-to-drive high performance vehicle variants. These will require dedicated performance-oriented electric drive units. TREMEC is developing a first generation of such EDU. Key attributes for this 600 kW EDU are: two motors in the space of an OEM single motor unit, excellent efficiency in WLTP and performance drive cycles, thermal robustness. Extensive analysis has been performed to find the right technological ingredients t

Abstract:
Abstract Several hundred units were subjected to autoclave stress as part of the qualification of a new fast static RAM. Many units failed after autoclave stress, and these parts recovered after conventional depotting using nitric acid and a hot plate. Based on the recovery of the units, the failures were determined to be fuse-related because the nitric acid cleared the fuse cavities during depotting. Chemical analysis after thermally extracting the die from the package revealed an antimony-rich material in failing fuse cavities. Source of the antimony was linked to antimony trioxide added to

Abstract:
Original objectives and revisions – The original overall objective was to develop, test and validate a prototype yield mapping system for unit area to increase yield and profit for tree crops. Specific objectives were: (1) to develop a yield mapping system for a static situation, using hyperspectral and thermal imaging independently, (2) to integrate hyperspectral and thermal imaging for improved yield estimation by combining thermal images with hyperspectral images to improve fruit detection, and (3) to expand the system to a mobile platform for a stop-measure- and-go situation.
