Abstract:
This research paper aimed to propose a model of management towards the excellence of Buddhist Sunday School. Mixed methods research was designed and it was divided into three steps. The first step was to study management using questionnaires to collect from 109 teachers, and data were analyzed by descriptive statistics such as percentage, mean and standard deviation. The second step was to develop the model by interview10 key informants with an interview form. The third step was to propose the model with focus group discussion of 9 experts. Data was analyzed by content analysis. The research study found that management model for the excellence of Buddhist Sunday School was a participatory school management (Bovorn) and was the development of people to become a complete human being, both body, mind, intelligence, knowledge, along with morality, ethics, and culture of living, able to live happily with others consists of 5 elements: 1) Principle, 2) Purpose, 3) Procedure system, 4) Action process consisted of (1) School management at Home (Ban), Temple (Wat), School (Rong-Rian) or called “Bovon” in Thai, (2) Participation in curriculum administration, (3) The teacher is acted as a person of learning, (4) The development of the learner to be a perfect human being of good, clever and happy, (5) Buddhist teaching management integrated with modern science, (6) clean, shady, safe learning resources linked to Thai wisdom, (7) Kalayanamit evaluation, and 5) Evaluation.

Abstract:
Multi-storey parking structures have potentially high concentrations of benzene (B), toluene (T), ethylbenzene (E) and xylene (X) – known as BTEX which could cause adverse health effects to humans. This study sought to estimate BTEX exposure concentrations among car park workers and to evaluate the extent to which, if at all, changes in urine metabolites are associated with BTEX exposure. Personal BTEX samples were collected from workers. Pre-shift and post-shift urinary metabolites, trans,trans-muconic acid (t,t-MA), hippuric acid (HA) and methyl hippuric acid were assessed using standard procedures. Linear regression models were used to examine associations between BTEX exposure concentrations and changes in urinary metabolites. BTEX concentrations in the car park on Sunday were lower than other days of the week, for instance median concentrations of toluene were 23.3 µg/m3 on Sunday and 48.3 µg/m3 during average weekdays (Tuesday–Friday). Benzene and toluene concentrations adjusted for day of week differences were associated with changes from pre-shift to post-shift in urine t,t-MA and HA, respectively. Car park workers were more likely to be exposed to lower concentrations of BTEX during weekdays compared to weekends. Provision of personal chemical safety protection and rigorous evaluation of its effectiveness in reducing BTEX exposure should be provided to protect workers of car parks.

Abstract:
This article critiques the mediation of the Zimbabwean land reform programme in the period 2000–2010 by both the state-controlled and the privately-owned press. Its thrust is to establish the framing patterns that emerge and relate these to Herman and Chomsky’s Propaganda Model. The bold claim by Herman and Chomsky that the media, particularly in the West, pander to the whims of the powerful political and pro-capital elites is explored. Using a qualitative case study approach, data for this study were collected from four Zimbabwean Weeklies, namely The Sunday News and The Sunday Mail, which are stateowned, and The Independent and The Standard, which are privately-owned. News stories on the land reform programme drawn from these weeklies over the 10 year focus period are analysed with the view to ascertaining the tenability of the Propaganda Model. Using the tenets of the Propaganda Model and critical discourse analysis, the study exposes the polemical representations of the land issue by the press. The emerging polemics are attributed to the overbearing influence of ideology, ownership, corporate pro-capital interests and biased source selection. However, the tripartite alliance which the propaganda model claims as existing among government, capitalists and media owners comes unstuck in the Zimbabwean media-scape. There is evidently a fractious relationship between state media and private media in Zimbabwe. The political and economic contestation of power in the nation manifests in the press. It is quite clear from the findings of this study that there is still need for a model that comprehensively attempts to capture the role of the press and its place in Africa.

Abstract:
This article traces the development of the foreseeability test in the context of the nullum crimen principle. While the European Court of Human Rights has introduced the ‘accessibility and foreseeability’ criteria long ago in the Sunday Times case, the Court has only recently started to apply this standard with respect to international crimes. In the Kononov case, judges of the European Court of Human Rights exhibited strongly divergent opinions on the question whether the punishment of alleged war crimes that had been committed in 1944 violated the nullum crimen principle. According to this author, the dissension of the judges demonstrates the lack of objective foreseeability, which should have served as a starting point for the assessment of the subjective foreseeability and a – potentially exculpating – mistake of law of the perpetrator. The Court should therefore have concluded that the nullum crimen principle had been violated.

This paper addresses a little piece of a lot more extensive undertaking looking at the connections between working class and migrant writing which will frame a piece of my thesis. I will discuss the employments of lingo, class struggle and interesting differences in these books from the 1950s – John Braine’s Room At the Top (1957), Alan Sillitoe’s Saturday Night and Sunday Morning (1958) and Sam Selvon’s The Lonely Londoners (1956). I’ll begin with reference to a novel from the very period that maintains a strategic distance from broad utilization of tongue, prior to going to how these creators use vernacular and standard English alongside one another, just as set against one another, prior to getting done with an endeavor to historicize their employments of lingo. English the most prevalent language of the world has evolved with times influenced by German about 30%, Latin 30%, French 25%, Greek 5% and other languages about 10%. Surprisingly London alone has 300 other different languages spoken and they all influence add to the further development of Lingo and communication.

AbstractObjectiveTo assess alcoholic beverage intake among Australian adults and its contribution to dietary energy intake.DesignSecondary analysis of a national dietary survey using 24 h dietary recall.SettingAustralian National Nutrition and Physical Activity Survey (NNPAS) conducted from May 2011 to June 2012.SubjectsAdults (n9341) aged 19 years and over.ResultsOn the day preceding the survey, 32·8% of Australian adults consumed one or more alcoholic drinks. The median contribution to total energy intake for consumers did not differ significantly between males and females (13·7% and 12·9%, respectively;P=0·10). The prevalence of consumption of alcoholic drinks on Friday, Saturday and Sunday was 38·8 (95% CI 37·1, 40·5)%, higher than the other days (28·6 (95% CI 27·5, 29·8)%). Consumers had a median daily intake of 4·0 standard drinks on the weekend compared with 3·0 standard drinks during the week (P<0·001). Beer was the most commonly consumed alcoholic beverage for men and white wine for women. The highest prevalence of alcoholic beverage intake occurred in the highest quintile of adjusted household income (42·7 (95% CI 40·4, 45·0)%) and the ‘overweight’ BMI category (40·3 (95% CI 38·5, 42·0)%). Alcoholic beverage intake among consumers was significantly different by household income quintile (median 3·84 (highest)v. 3·05 standard drinks (lowest);P<0·05) and by waist circumference category (median 4·09 standard drinks (highest)).ConclusionsAlcoholic drinks contribute substantially to the dietary energy intake of Australian adults. The type and pattern of consumption of alcoholic beverage intake should be considered in the development of strategies to improve dietary intake.

Abstract:
Abstract Background: Transgender women often take estrogen with or without an antiandrogen to achieve the physical and physiological changes of estrogen. Estradiol may be administered through intramuscular (IM) injection weekly or every other week (1). It is thought that weekly IM estradiol may be more stable than every other week administration. The objective of this case was to evaluate the levels of IM estradiol cypionate when administered weekly. Clinical Case: A 38-year-old transgender woman with a past medical history of gender dysphoria, type 2 diabetes mellitus, hyperlipidemia, obstructive sleep apnea compliant with continuous positive airway pressure, class 3 severe obesity, anxiety, depression and a non-smoker, presented for evaluation for hormone replacement therapy (HRT). The patient wished to begin IM estradiol because she heard it was most effective. She was started on estradiol cypionate 0.5 mL (2.5 mg) IM every Sunday along with spironolactone 100 mg daily. Approximately one month later, her estradiol was 65.8 pg/mL on a Saturday, total testosterone by LC-MS/MS was suppressed to 7 ng/dL (male: 300-1080 ng/dL, female: 9 - 55 ng/dL), FSH <0.3 mIU/mL (1.5-12.4), LH <0.3 mIU/mL (1.7-8.6). We increased her estradiol cypionate to 0.8 mL (4 mg) IM every Sunday to achieve goal estradiol levels up to 100-200 pg/mL. Approximately 2 months later, estradiol was up to 160 pg/mL on a Thursday. FSH and LH remained suppressed. Spironolactone was stopped. Patient gave her estradiol dose every Sunday between 4:15-7 PM. She injected on the lateral thigh switching sides every week. At the patient’s request, blood was drawn on distinct days of the week going further from the day of injection as data collection progressed. The data we received: Monday: 153 pg/mL, Tuesday: 164 pg/mL, Wednesday: 147 pg/mL, Thursday: 122 pg/mL, Friday: 134 pg/mL, Saturday: 167 pg/mL. All labs were drawn between approximately 9:30-10:15 AM. Conclusion: Our patient wanted to see just how stable weekly IM estradiol cypionate was. We found she was able to stay within target physiologic estrogen levels, 100-200 pg/mL, throughout the week. Overall mean +/- standard deviation levels for the six samples taken between injections were 148 +/- 17 pg/mL (range: 122-167). This case provides reassurance to clinicians concerned IM estradiol may cause supraphysiologic estradiol levels. References: 1. Wylie C Hembree et al. ABSTRAKPada hari Minggu, 5 Agustus 2018 pukul 19:46 WITA, gempa bumi mengguncang wilayah Labuan, Lombok, Nusa Tenggara Barat dengan skala magnitudo M7,0. As a result of the earthquake, liquefaction occurred in several regions of West Nusa Tenggara and caused severe damage. Liquefaction can occure when an increase in pore water pressure is triggered by an earthquake, which causes the soil losing its shear strength and stiffness. Liquefaction mostly occured in sand loose and saturated condition. Analysis of liquefaction based on Peak Ground Acceleration (PGA) at the research site 4.13 m/s2 were done according to the data of SPT (Standard Penetration Test). By comparing the value of soil resistance to liquefaction or Cyclic Resistance Ratio (CRR) and the ability of soil to be liquefied or Cyclic Stress Ratio (CSR), the analysis shows the soil in that area are liquefied at depth of 5.5 m – 19.5 m.Keywords: liquefaction, cyclic stress ratio (CSR), cyclic resistance ratio (CRR), safety of factor (SF)

Abstract:
On the first day of April 1649, on the predominantly rural manor of Walton, Surrey, the sight of people preparing land for the plow was unremarkable. To see men up at dawn, dressed for the field in broad-brimmed hats, homespun waistcoats, and short breeches, loosening or breaking up clods with their spades, stooping to toss aside root and rock, was typical. What did raise eyebrows, however, was the sight of such busyness on a Sunday, the Sabbath, and on no less remarkable ground than George Hill, with its “very barren,” sandy soil. When questioned, Gerrard Winstanley reframed this performative break with religious, social, and agricultural norms as he did in his soon to be published manifesto, The True Levellers’ Standard Advanced. To work this land was to “declare . . . by action,” as well as by word, that Winstanley, the self-described “prophet” William Everard, and a small number of others had been sent by the Creator to begin their mission of transforming “the Earth [into] a common Treasury for all, both Rich and Poor.” Rural, religious, and resource poor, the Digger collective has not received substantial attention from performance studies scholars. Even some historians of the seventeenth century have questioned the significance of this small, nonviolent agrarian group in the intensely “charged political atmosphere of the 1640s,” but as a collective whose theatrical social performances raised them from obscurity to national visibility, Diggers are in some ways the epitome of this era.

Abstract:
Objectives To evaluate the extent to which our current provision of diagnostic and interventional radiology services matches existing clinical demand and future government proposals as set out in the Royal College of Radiologists published guidance on providing seven-day acute care. Methods In June 2018, all UK radiology department audit leads were sent a questionnaire designed to assess compliance for each standard of the Royal College of Radiologists published guidance on providing seven-day acute care. Results 135 hospitals (68%) responded. Of those that responded, 96% of departments have a diagnostic radiologist rota for clinicians to discuss acute cases and review imaging and 48% of departments do not have a fully staffed consultant rota 24 h a day, seven days a week for interventional radiology. There is significant variance in MRI radiographer availability within departments, ranging from 18.8% during Saturday/Sunday evening/overnight up to a maximum of 63.9% during Saturday daytime. 11% of departments participate in a regional out of hours cross-organisation reporting rota. 40% of departments have no 24/7 RIS technical support and 34% have no PACS technical support out of hours. Conclusion There is a wide variation in practice across radiology departments in the UK. Although there are some standards that the majority of hospitals are achieving, there is a significant short-fall in fundamental aspects of providing acute seven-day care. The multifactorial nature in which these problems have arisen means there is no easy solution to combat these issues. There is a requirement for significant investment and political commitment to improve staffing and infrastructure in order to address the current situation. Advances in knowledge A UK wide evaluation of the current provision of seven-day working in radiology showing 54% of hospitals do not have a UK working-time regulations compliant Interventional radiology rota, severe lack of availability of acute MRI out of hours and significant deficiencies in providing technical support out of hours. A sustainable and efficient seven-day service is currently not being provided.

Abstract:
To investigate weekly cycle in aerosol parameters using recent AERONET data, we analyse the 7-days periodicity in the different regions that vary in the level of the industrial aerosol load. In the paper we are looking for the weekly cycle in atmosphere aerosol optical thickness at 440 and 870 nm (AOT440, AOT870), measured by AERONE sun-photometers in the industrial regions: Europe and North America. The possible appearance of the weekly cycle in Antarctica, where the lowest industrial aerosol load expected, was investigated as well. For each of the AERONET stations, the analysis was provided using the 8-year continuous measurement sequences data in the 2009–2016 period. Due to AERONET sun-photometers provided aerosol measurements in the daytime and cloudless conditions only, we use the weekly data overlay technique for analysis. According to this method, the initial sequence of the measurements was divided into the 7-days data segments, corresponding to a week period. The 8-year averaged values and standard deviation were calculated for an each day of week. The average Europe and North America weekend effect in the percent difference of AOT440 in the weekdays and in the weekend in the atmosphere over North America is equal 7.2%, over Europe - 4.2%. The lowest AOT values observed on Sunday and Monday the highest values are seen from Wednesday till Saturday. To reveal seasonal dependence of the weekend effect, the weekly variations of seasonally separated AOT440 and AOT870 data over Europe have been analysed. The results exhibit the maximum AOT values in working days and minimum in weekend similar to seasonally averaged results.

Abstract:
What exactly comprises a “disaster?” The American College of Emergency Physicians has defined the term as “a sudden massive disproportion between hostile elements of any kind and survival resources that are available to counterbalance these hostile elements in the shortest period of time” (1).In a small airport supporting a town of 10,000 an aircraft accident involving 4 or 5 casualties can constitute a disaster by this definition, whereas at Kennedy Airport (JKF) with its large depots of medical support, and where our experience in this area has been considerable, it would take many more casualties to qualify as a disaster. “Black Sunday” at Tenerife, with 500 casualties in a single incident (2), focused world attention on the need for more adequate casualty care of air crashes at airports, particularly at airports that handle wide-bodied jets. In our efforts to improve the methods of “bringing the hospital to the emergency rather than the emergency to the hospital,” the “workshop” at Kennedy Airport has evolved over the years from a cumbersome inflatable unit with limited mobility, to a Mobile Emergency Hospital with a capacity of 100 beds and an operating room (3).In the past year, we have developed an even more practicable Mobile Emergency Hospital, the size of a standard cargo container, 40 feet long by 8 feet wide and 8 feet high with 4-wheel drive and self-propelled at 55 miles per hour, capable of being lifted by helicopter, flown in a Lockheed C130 or cargo 747, placed on a railroad flat-bed or transported as a container on the deck of a ship (4,5).

Abstract:
252 Background: Based on the results of GEST, S-1 was confirmed to be non-inferior to gemcitabine. However, the recommended regimen of 4 weeks of administration interrupted by 2 weeks of drug withdrawal frequently causes adverse effect. Grade3/4 toxicities (%) in S-1 were neutropenia 8.8, anorexia 11.4, diarrhea 5.5. On the other hand, we experienced in clinical practice that the alternate-day administration of S-1 reduced adverse effects and was tolerable for unresectable advanced pancreatic cancer patients unwilling to continue the standard daily administration. We therefore conducted a multi-center cooperative prospective study to compare daily with alternate-day administration of S-1 for unresectable advanced pancreatic cancer. Methods: Patients with unresectable advanced pancreatic cancer (PS, 0 to 1; age, 20 to 80 years; no other therapy) were eligible for enrollment in this trial. S-1 was administered a dose of 40 to 60 mg twice daily, assigned according to body-surface area, on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday (specified days). Each treatment cycle will be 42 days (6 weeks). The primary endpoint was overall survival (OS). Secondary endpoints were safety, response rate (RR), progression free survival (PFS), time to treatment failure (TTF). Results: A total of 50 patients were enrolled from Sep 2009 to Feb 2011. 48 patients were evaluable for response. Male/Female was 21/27, PS: 0/1 was 40/8. With a median follow-up time of 28.2 months, OS as primary endpoint was 8.4 months (95% CI, 5.4-10.8) with the 1 year survival rate 29.2%. PFS was 5.5 months, and TTF was 3.9 months. RR was 10.4% (95% CI: 3.5-19.1), and Disease Control rate was 79.2%. Grade 3/4 hematological and non-hematological toxicities were minor. All of those adverse reactions were tolerable and reversible. Conclusions: We will report the data from the final analysis at this meeting. The current data show mitigation of adverse effects with alternate-day administration of S-1, and it appears to be a more sustainable option for unresectable advanced pancreatic cancer. A randomized phase II trial comparing this regimen of S-1 with standard regimen of S-1 is ongoing. Clinical trial information: 000003453.

Abstract:
Abstract OBJECTIVES Immediate surgical repair for type A aortic dissection is gold standard and at most centres is performed by the surgeon on call during night-time and weekends. The objective was to evaluate whether emergency surgery during night-time or weekends has an influence on 30-day mortality. METHODS In 319 patients undergoing surgery for type A aortic dissection, skin incision was documented. Patients were divided into 2 groups according to the time point of skin incision (05:00 a.m. to 07:00 p.m. = daytime group; 07:01 p.m. to 04:59 a.m. = night-time group). We also noted whether their surgeries were started on weekdays (Monday 00:00 to Friday 23:59) or weekends (Saturday 00:00 to Sunday 23:59). RESULTS The median age was 61 years (interquartile range 49–70) and 69.6% (n = 222) were male. Almost 50% (n = 149) of patients presented in a critical preoperative state. Forty-one percent of patients (n = 131) underwent night-time surgery. There were no differences in baseline data, time from onset of symptoms to surgery or surgical treatment between groups, except from preferred femoral access for arterial cannulation during night-time. Advanced age [odds ratio 1.042, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.014–1.070], preoperative malperfusion syndrome (odds ratio 2.542, 95% CI 1.279–5.051) and preoperative tamponade (odds ratio 2.562, 95% CI 1.215–5.404) emerged as risk factors for 30-day mortality. Night-time or weekend surgery did not have any impact on 30-day mortality when covariates were considered. CONCLUSIONS Based on the natural course of the disease and our results, surgery for type A aortic dissection should be performed as an emergency surgery regardless of time and day.

Abstract:
Abstract Background: In patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), insurance status has not been demonstrated to adversely impact outcomes. However, insurance status appears to be an independent factor in healthcare utilization. University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) is the main tertiary hospital in the State of Oklahoma treating patients with acute leukemia. We hypothesized that treatment patterns might be different between the insured and uninsured patients. We hereby attempt to analyze the association between insurance status, week day of admission and outcomes. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed patients from January 2000 to June 2012 diagnosed with AML over 18 years of age, who were treated at OUHSC with induction chemotherapy. Patients were divided into two groups: Group 1 included patients who were admitted on weekdays (Monday-Thursday) and group 2 included patients admitted on weekends (Friday-Sunday). Patients were also sub-classified as having private insurance, public insurance (Medicaid and Medicare) or no insurance. Primary outcomes were overall survival at follow up (OS), complete remission (CR) and Relapse. Chi-Square analysis was utilized to assess if day of admission and insurance status was related to OS, CR and Relapse. Cox Proportional hazards model was used to measure association of insurance status, day of admission and their interaction and Kaplan Meir Survival curves were used to estimate survival rates for day of admission by insurance status. Results: We analyzed total of 161 patients, 157 met inclusion criteria with 69 (44%) having public insurance, 58 (37%) with private insurance and 30 (19%) were uninsured. Group 1 with 94 (60%) patients was admitted on weekdays (Monday–Thursday), and group 2 with 63 (40%) patients was admitted on weekend (Friday-Sunday). The median age at diagnosis was 49 years, 63.7% male 36.3% female. 77.0% white, 10.6% African American, 6.2% Native American and 3.7% Hispanic. We found a significant interaction between insurance status and day of admission, 63% of uninsured patients being admitted on weekend (Fri-Sun) with (p-value=0.0292). When we stratified patients by insurance status there was no difference in survival outcomes for uninsured patients based on day of admission. However, for patients with insurance who were admitted on weekdays Mon-Thurs (Group 1) had a hazard ratio (HR) of death 0.487 relative to those on weekends Fri-Sun (Group 2) (p=0.0238). Median overall survival (OS) for uninsured patients in (Group 2) was 147.5 days (95% CI=79-252) as compare to insured patients in (Group 1) 252 days (95% CI=116-459) with a P value 0.0182. The proportion of patients achieving CR did not differ by day of admission (p=0.3275) and insurance type (0.5678). Relapse was not associated with day of admission (p=0.2284) or by insurance type (p=0.4057). Conclusions: For the patients with the diagnosis of AML who presented to our institution, there was a noticeable trend of uninsured patients being admitted over the weekend. The overall survival was lower for the uninsured patients who were admitted on the weekend as compare to the insured patients who were admitted on weekdays. This trend is both noteworthy and significant and due to its possible impact on standard of care warrants further investigation. Disclosures No relevant conflicts of interest to declare.

Abstract:
This study aims to describe the view of mass media with the Islamic ideology of Republika in response to mass shooting incident by Stephen Craig Paddock (64 years) in Las Vegas United States on Sunday (1/10/2017) which killed 59 people and injured 500 people. This research uses qualitative method with framing analysis of Robert Entman model which produces four important things. First, the editorial (header) entitled "Irony Paddock, Irony Trump" affirms the attitude of Republika who called the Las Vegas tragedy an act of terror. Secondly, Republika constructed the United States president Donald Trump as a problem because of judging Paddock's brutal action as a casual shoot, not including terrorists. Thirdly, Republika rejects the double standard of Western countries, especially the US which does not mention terrorist acts because the perpetrators are not Muslim and not black. Fourthly, Republika offers a definition of terrorism as an act involving the use or attempts of sabotage, coercion, or violence that result in the death of the population in general. This research can be used as a discourse forming critical awareness in opposing the negative views of US superpower leaders who often impose the meaning of acts of terrorism with Islam and the Muslims.

Abstract:
1. From “Sunday trading” to Keck and MithouardThese Current Developments surveys have consistently been driven to consideration of the Court's attempts to fix the outer limits of Article 30 of the EC Treaty, beyond which national authorities remain exclusively competent to regulate their markets without fear of legal challenge based on Community rules governing the free movement of goods. The high-water mark of judicial interventionism came in the so-called “Sunday trading” cases where the United Kingdom was required to justify against standards recognised by Community law rules governing shop opening hours despite the fact that such rules, although inhibitive of commercial freedom, posed no demonstrable obstacle to the construction of an integrated marketing strategy for the whole territory of the Community.1 In Criminal Proceedings against Keck and Mithouard2 the Court sought to curtail the reach of Article 30. A French rule prohibiting resale at a loss was held unaffected by Article 30. The Court overruled previous decisions, probably including the pair dealing with Sunday trading, although the Court was not explicit. Its intention to refocus the law of the free movement of goods on measures hostile to market integration, rather than those merely oppressive of commercial freedom, was reflected in the formula:

Abstract:
On a Sunday morning at 06:22 on October 23, 1983, in Beirut, Lebanon, a semitrailer filled with TNT sped through the guarded barrier into the ground floor of the Civilian Aviation Authority and exploded, killing and wounding US Marines from the 1st Battalion 8th Regiment (2nd Division), as well as the battalion surgeon and deployed corpsmen. The truck bomb explosion, estimated to be the equivalent of 21,000 lbs of TNT, and regarded as the largest nonnuclear explosion since World War II, caused what was then the most lethal single-day death toll for the US Marine Corps since the Battle of Iwo Jima in World War II. Considerable neurological injury resulted from the bombing. Of the 112 survivors, 37 had head injuries, 2 had spinal cord injuries, and 9 had peripheral nerve injuries. Concussion, scalp laceration, and skull fracture were the most common cranial injuries.Within minutes of the explosion, the Commander Task Force 61/62 Mass Casualty Plan was implemented by personnel aboard the USS Iwo Jima. The wounded were triaged according to standard protocol at the time. Senator Humphreys, chairman of the Preparedness Committee and a corpsman in the Korean War, commented that he had never seen such a well-executed evolution. This was the result of meticulous preparation that included training not only of the medical personnel but also of volunteers from the ship’s company, frequent drilling with other shipboard units, coordination of resources throughout the ship, the presence of a meticulous senior enlisted man who carefully registered each of the wounded, the presence of trained security forces, and a drilled and functioning communication system.Viewed through the lens of a neurosurgeon, the 1983 bombings and mass casualty event impart important lessons in preparedness. Medical personnel should be trained specifically to handle the kinds of injuries anticipated and should rehearse the mass casualty event on a regular basis using mock-up patients. Neurosurgery staff should participate in training and planning for events alongside other clinicians. Training of nurses, corpsmen, and also nonmedical personnel is essential. In a large-scale evolution, nonmedical personnel may monitor vital signs, work as scribes or stretcher bearers, and run messages. It is incumbent upon medical providers and neurosurgeons in particular to be aware of the potential for mass casualty events and to make necessary preparations.

Aims•For 100% of patients admitted OOH (Friday 5pm – Sunday 9am) to have a multi-disciplinary review of their treatment•For 100% of patients with deteriorating physical and mental health to be discussed•To improve multi-disciplinary team (MDT) morale, working relationships and team cohesiveness OOHBackgroundIn most specialties, the standard of best practice is that patients admitted to the ward out of hours (OOH) receive a senior review over the weekend. However this does not usually take place in Psychiatry, and patients routinely wait until Monday to be seen by the ward team. This has been highlighted as problematic in cases where patients are agitated and not receiving any treatment for > 24 hours. We trialled a weekend teleconference safety huddle in Lewisham involving the on call consultant, registrar (SpR), core trainee (CT) and duty senior nurse (DSN).MethodThe weekend huddles were through a teleconference line, with participants dialling in at 9.45am.Issues discussed: 1)Management plan for newly admitted patients OOH.2)Plan for patients with deteriorating mental health or escalating level of aggression.3)Plan for patients with deteriorating physical health.Feedback was collected from CTs, SpRs and consultants focusing on whether the huddle made any difference to the speed of care, cohesiveness of the OOH team, and whether it was generally helpful or not.Result54% of CTs (n = 11) felt that patients admitted OOH had an MDT review, and 90% felt that patients with deteriorating mental and physical health were discussed and a plan put in place. 80% of CTs, 63% of SpRs (n = 8) and 67% of consultants (n = 6) agreed it improved team cohesiveness. 90% of DSNs felt safer and more supported in decision-making OOH.80% of CTs, 63% of SpRs and 83% of consultants found weekend huddles helpful.Data were also collected on violent incidents OOH, and there was a slight reduction in the number of violent incidents in the weeks following introduction of the huddle.ConclusionIntroducing safety huddles in Lewisham has facilitated the prompt discussion of the management of patients admitted OOH, and of those with deteriorating mental and physical health. It has also fostered a greater sense of cohesiveness in the MDT team.In light of this feedback, safety huddles have now been established as part of the weekend schedule in Lewisham, and are being rolled out to other boroughs within SLaM.

ABSTRACT
Yellowstripe scad included the one of commodity that has an important economic value in the Sunda Strait. Commonly, this species processed by Pandeglang fishermen to be the boiled fish, salted fish, grilled fish, besides it also traded in fresh or frozen fish product. The high market demand can not offset the production of this species from the nature. Therefore, it needed an information about resources of yellowstripe scad in the waters of the Sunda Strait in order to manage it well. The objective of this study was to estimate the maximum sustainable yield (MSY) and the optimum fishing effort (fopt), so that the yellowstripe scad resources in the waters of the Sunda Strait can be utilized optimally and sustainably. Based on the standardization analysis, the purse seine be made the standard fishing gear for estimating the MSY of yellowstripe scad. The yellowstripe scad growth patterns during the study is isometric. Trends of CPUE of the yellowstripe scad fisheries tends to decrease during 2003 to 2013. Then, this species was estimated its maximum sustainable yield (MSY) of 304.50 tons per year, with the optimum fishing effort of 12.478 trips per year. The decline of the catch per fishing effort can indicated that the yellowstripe scad fishing conditions in the Sunda Strait was having the overfishing phenomenon.

Key words: Sunda Strait, sustainable potential, yellowstripe scad

-------

Abstract:
Abstract We have previously shown that break-through bleeding in children with severe hemophilia A on prophylaxis is associated with time/week with FVIII less than 1IU/dL (P<0.0001) (Collins et al. JTH. 2008;O-T-018). In clinical practice many clinicians use the trough FVIII to monitor prophylaxis. These parameters depend on dose and frequency of infused FVIII and the patient’s FVIII recovery and elimination half-life (t½). To help guide prescription of prophylactic regimens in clinical practice we aimed to establish the relative importance of these variables on FVIII levels using results from 48 patients aged 1–6 yrs who had undergone a 48h, 50IU/kg pharmacokinetic (PK) study with Antihemophilic Factor (Recombinant), Plasma/Albumin-Free Method (Advate). The median (5–95 percentile) recovery was 1.8 (1.4–2.8) IU/dL/IU/kg and t½ 9.4 (7.4–13.1) h. A standard prophylactic regimen (30IU/kg on alternate days) in an average patient (recovery 1.8, t ½ 9.4h) was considered baseline. Each variable was individually adjusted within the observed normal range or clinical practice whilst holding the other variables constant and the effect on trough level and time/week FVIII <1IU/dL was calculated (table). Variable Trough (IU/dL) Time/wk <1IU/dL (h) t½ (hrs) 7.4 <1 17.5 9.4 1.6* 0* 13.1 4.4 0 Recovery 1.4 1.2 0 1.8 1.6* 0* (IU/dL)/(IU/kg) Dose (IU/kg) 2.8 2.5 0 20 1.1 0 30 1.6* 0* 50 2.7 0 Frequency (days) Daily (15 IU/kg) 4.8 0 Alternate day (30 IU/kg) 1.6* 0* Every 3rdday (45 <1 27.8 The in silico modelling showed that the standard regimen in the average patient resulted in a trough level of 1.6IU/dL and no time per week with FVIII <1 (* in table). In contrast, the commonly used regimen of 30IU/kg on Mon/Wed/Fri in the same patient would result in FVIII <1IU/dL for 17.4h on Sunday. The Friday dose would have to be increased to 108.5IU/kg to maintain a trough level above 1IU/dL. Dosing frequency and t½ both had large effects on trough FVIII level and time/week <1IU/dL. Recovery and dose had no effect on time/week with FVIII <1IU/dL and a relatively small effect on trough level. Patients on a standard regimen (30IU/kg alternate day), who have a recovery and t½ on the 5th percentile (1.4IU/dL/IU/kg and 7.4h, respectively), would have a trough level <1IU/dL for approximately 29h per week. In contrast, a patient at the 95th percentile for these parameters (2.8 IU/dL/IU/kg and 13.1h, respectively), would have a trough level of approximately 7IU/dL, spending no time below 1IU/dL. After a 30IU/kg infusion, variation in t½ from 5th to 95th percentile results in a 33h difference from 43 to 76h in time until FVIII falls below 1IU/dL. A similar variation in recovery leads to a 10h difference from 50 to 60h. Increasing the infused dose from 20–50IU/kg in the average patient results in an increase in time until FVIII falls below 1IU/dL of 12h from 50 to 62h. These data confirm that tailoring prophylaxis to bleeding patterns may be enhanced by knowledge of individual patients’ PK. The use of standard 48h PK studies are not practical in clinical practice but techniques are available to estimate individual PK from sparse data that can be obtained in clinical practice. A population PK model under development is one method that will allow individual patient’s PK to be calculated from 3–4 sample points and facilitate the measurement of PK in routine clinical practice. An algorithm based on PK and desired FVIII levels can be used to calculate individualised dosing schedules for patients. In conclusion, to maintain FVIII at a pre-determined level, the frequency of infusion and half life have a more pronounced affect than dose and recovery.

Abstract:
Introduction: For a number of emergency conditions, admission over the weekend has been associated with rising morbidity and mortality rates. However, different studies have provided conflicting results regarding the increased rates of mortality and morbidity for patients with intracapsular femoral fracture who were admitted over the weekend, compared to weekdays. This study investigated the effect of weekend admissions on the surgical outcomes of patients with intracapsular femoral neck fractures. Materials and Methods: We conducted a retrospective cohort study of all the patients who were admitted to our level-II trauma center with an intracapsular femoral neck fracture between January 2009 and June 2011. Admission was classified as at the weekend if it took place between 18:00 pm on Friday until midnight on Sunday or on bank holidays. We compared the mortality rates within 30 days and 6 months after surgery for weekday and weekend admissions. Secondary outcomes considered included length of hospital stay, postoperative complications, and reoperation rates. Statistical analysis was performed using logistic regression models, which were adjusted for patient and surgical characteristics. Results: In total, 315 patients met our inclusion criteria. The mean age of this group was 77.9 years (standard deviation ±13) and the female to male ratio was 5:2. The average follow-up period was 49 months. Under logistic regression analysis, weekend admission was not a significant independent risk factor for the 30-day mortality rate (odds ratio 1.85, 95% confidence interval, 0.74-4.62; P = .19). Seventy-seven patients admitted over the weekend were treated within 24 hours versus 125 patients for the weekday group (80.2% vs 57.9%; P = .005). There were no differences between the sample groups in relation to implant-related complications (24.9% vs 25.8%, respectively, P = .89) nor in relation to general complications (12% vs 18.6%, respectively, P = .06). The mean hospital stay of patients operated on during weekends or holidays was significantly shorter compared to patients operated on during weekdays (6.7 vs 8.5 days; P = .009). Conclusion: Patients with intracapsular femoral neck fractures who were admitted over the weekend at our trauma center did not have a higher risk of mortality or morbidity. Furthermore, temporary preoperative care provided over the weekend by an internal medical consultant can be safe and efficient even in the circumstances where there is a lack of dedicated geriatric support. The absence of an elective operating list at the weekend could be a potential factor in shortening waiting times for surgery for intracapsular femoral neck fracture at weekends and holidays.

Abstract:
Jelitik River is the main river and economic artery of Sungailiat District, Bangka Regency. Currently around the Jelitik River there is a Jelitik Fishing Port and is developed as an industrial area. In addition to the problems of sedimentation problems with the development of industrial estates and the presence of sand mining rich in tin ore on land and on the high seas it is feared that it will reduce the quality of the environment, especially the surrounding sea water. Therefore, this study is needed in order to find out the quality of waters in this estuary which can be used as a basis or baseline for the initial environment of this region if later this area will be developed as a port or industrial area. The method used in this study is field observation, water sampling, and laboratory analysis. Therefore, as an initial step, it is necessary to identify the quality of the waters in this estuary which can be used as the basis or initial environmental baseline of this area if later this area will be developed as a port or industrial area. Based on observations in the field of laboratory analysis of water samples, generally the quality of seawater around the estuary of Jelitik River still meets seawater quality standards both for port activities, marine tourism and for biota. Some parameters that exceed the quality standard include total suspended solid (TSS) which reaches 250 mg/l, total dissolved solids (TDS) which reaches 24,700 mg/l and nitrate content which reaches 0.38 mg/l. BOD value is 4.7 mg / l and COD is 46.4 mg / l, these parameters are still below the existing sea water quality standard.

Abstract:
BackgroundPatient decision aids (PDAs) are evidence-based tools designed to help patients make specific and deliberated choices among healthcare options. The International Patient Decision Aid Standards (IPDAS) Collaboration review papers and Cochrane systematic review of PDAs have found significant gaps in the reporting of evaluations of PDAs, including poor or limited reporting of PDA content, development methods and delivery. This study sought to develop and reach consensus on reporting guidelines to improve the quality of publications evaluating PDAs.MethodsAn international workgroup, consisting of members from IPDAS Collaboration, followed established methods to develop reporting guidelines for PDA evaluation studies. This paper describes the results from three completed phases: (1) planning, (2) drafting and (3) consensus, which included a modified, two-stage, online international Delphi process. The work was conducted over 2 years with bimonthly conference calls and three in-person meetings. The workgroup used input from these phases to produce a final set of recommended items in the form of a checklist.ResultsThe SUNDAE Checklist (Standards for UNiversal reporting of patient Decision Aid Evaluations) includes 26 items recommended for studies reporting evaluations of PDAs. In the two-stage Delphi process, 117/143 (82%) experts from 14 countries completed round 1 and 96/117 (82%) completed round 2. Respondents reached a high level of consensus on the importance of the items and indicated strong willingness to use the items when reporting PDA studies.ConclusionThe SUNDAE Checklist will help ensure that reports of PDA evaluation studies are understandable, transparent and of high quality. A separate Explanation and Elaboration publication provides additional details to support use of the checklist.

Abstract:
Background Alcohol use is prevalent in many societies and has major adverse impacts on health, but the availability of effective interventions limits treatment options for those who want assistance in changing their patterns of alcohol use. Objective This study evaluated the new Daybreak program, which is accessible via mobile app and desktop and was developed by Hello Sunday Morning to support high-risk drinking individuals looking to change their relationship with alcohol. In particular, we compared the effect of adding online coaching via real-time chat messages (intervention group) to an otherwise self-guided program (control group). Methods We designed the intervention as a randomized control trial, but as some people (n=48; 11.9%) in the control group were able to use the online coaching, the main analysis comprised all participants. We collected online surveys at one-month and three-months follow-up. The primary outcome was change in alcohol risk (measured with the alcohol use disorders identification test–consumption [AUDIT–C] score), but other outcomes included the number of standard drinks per week, alcohol-related days out of role, psychological distress (Kessler-10), and quality of life (EUROHIS-QOL). Markers of engagement with the program included posts to the site and comments on the posts of others. The primary analysis used Weighted Generalized Estimating Equations. Results We recruited 398 people to the intervention group (50.2%) and 395 people to the control group (49.8%). Most were female (71%) and the mean age was 40.1 years. Most participants were classified as probably dependent (550, 69%) on the AUDIT–10, with 243 (31%) classified with hazardous or harmful consumption. We followed up with 334 (42.1%) participants at one month and 293 (36.9%) at three months. By three months there were significant improvements in AUDIT–C scores (down from mean 9.1 [SD 1.9] to 5.8 [SD 3.1]), alcohol consumed per week (down from mean 37.1 [SD 28.3] to mean 17.5 [SD 18.9]), days out of role (down from mean 1.6 [SD 3.6] to 0.5 [SD 1.6]), quality of life (up from 3.2 [SD 0.7] to 3.6 [SD 0.7]) and reduced distress (down from 24.8 [SD 7.0] to 19.0 [SD 6.6]). Accessing online coaching was not associated with improved outcomes, but engagement with the program (eg, posts and comments on the posts of others) were significantly associated with improvements (eg, in AUDIT–C, alcohol use and EUROHIS-QOL). Reduced alcohol use was found for both probably dependent (estimated marginal mean of 40.8 to 20.1 drinks) and hazardous or harmful alcohol users (estimated marginal mean of 22.9 to 11.9 drinks). Conclusions Clinically significant reductions in alcohol use were found, as well as reduced alcohol risk (AUDIT–C) and days out of role. Importantly, improved alcohol-related outcomes were found for both hazardous or harmful and probably dependent drinkers. Since October 2016, Daybreak has reached more than 50,000 participants. Therefore, there is the potential for the program to have an impact on alcohol-related problems at a population health level, importantly including an effect on probably dependent drinkers. Abstract:
Background:Pain shoulder syndrome is one of the most common conditions that is inherent in patients with various diseases and conditions. This problem is faced by both patients of a rheumatological profile (rheumatoid arthritis), and patients of other profiles: neurological (stroke, hernia of the cervical spine), traumatological (periarthritis). The regular use of painkillers and NSAID is associated with a risk of serious adverse reactions in patients.PNF therapy can have a fairly quick positive effect. Kinesiotaiping is a common and easily accessible treatment method that, due to the inclusion of local neuromuscular adaptation mechanisms, can have an analgesic effect. Objectives:The purpose of the study is to compare the effectiveness of traditional treatment methods in combination. Methods:Patients with pain shoulder syndrome who were admitted to the doctor of physical and rehabilitation medicine were randomly assigned to one of three groups: group G1 - 20 patients who received combined treatment, including massage, acupuncture, PNF, kinesiotherapy.Patients of group G2 (20 people) who received massage and acupuncture sessions, kinesiotherapy, but did not deal with PNF.Patients in group G3 (20 people) received massage, acupuncture, and PNF, excluding kinesiotaping. All patients received treatment 5 times a week (Monday to Friday, excluding Saturday and Sunday), the total duration of the rehabilitation course is 20 days. The program included: 30 minutes an acupuncture session, 20 minutes massage, 45 minutes physical exercises with a physical therapist. Classes using the PNF technique were carried out separately every other day for 45 minutes using the standard method for shoulder pain.VAS was used to monitor efficacy. Pain was assessed at the beginning of the study, with the third, sixth, ninth and last visit to the clinic. Results:The age composition of the patient group is from 31 to 70 years. The gender composition is 35 (58.33%) women, and 25 (41.67%) men.The average time between the onset of clinical symptoms and the first treatment session was 47.3 days. In 90% of patients, a history of pain lasted from 6 weeks or more. 52 patients (86.67%) completed the treatment completely. Of these, G1 is 19 people (90% of this group), 16 (80%) in G2, and 17 of 20 in the G3 group (85%).The average VAS score in G1 was 5.15 at the start of the study, and after the tenth session, it dropped to 2.78. A significant decrease in pain is also observed in the G2 group (from 5.17 at the beginning of the study to 3.19 after the tenth session). The G3 group in terms of pain reduction almost equaled the G1 group, where the level of pain from 5.16 decreased to 2.71.Patients within 6 months after treatment evaluated the level of pain on their own and reported the data to the doctor. In patients of group G1, after 6 months, the average VAS score is 3.71. G3 patients after 6 months, the VAS score is 4.25 points. Patients of the G2 group at 3 months noted a return of the pain syndrome, after 3 months, the VAS score was 5.11.Conclusion:The obtained results testify to the high efficiency of PNF therapy, however, the combination with kinesiotyping allows better consolidation of the effect of therapy and prolongs remission of pain syndrome.Disclosure of Interests:None declared

Abstract:
The matrix–matrix products for matrices of small size have continued to play an important part in a range of scientific applications. The heterogeneous architecture, which is predicted to be a trend in the exascale supercomputing era, gives rises to the challenges of porting and optimizing small matrix products. We present a method to accelerating and tune small matrix multiplications on Sunway TaihuLight supercomputer, which has been titled as the most powerful supercomputer four times in the Top5000 list. Sunway TaihuLight is equipped with Shen-Wei hybrid manycore processors. We use Nek5000 as a case study to demonstrate our methods. Nek5000 is an open-source computational fluid dynamics (CFD) solver based on the spectral element method (SEM) for incompressible flow. The high-order SEM method, of which the computation kernel is small dense matrix products, is regarded to have the potential to overcome constraints of standard CFD software. By optimizing using vectorization, we gained about 30% performance improvement on management processing element. We accelerated Nek5000 using computing processing elements (CPEs). The experiments results suggest that employing 32 CPEs delivers the best performance enhancements. We scaled Nek5000 to 16,384 core groups with 540,672 cores, reaching about 30% performance improvements.

There could not be a better example of this than the effect of the European Working Time Directive (EWTD) on those training to be surgeons. The EWTD has devastated the ability to deliver proper standards of surgical training and forced young surgeons to work shifts that are stressful, detested and unprofessional. For trainees to gain the necessary experience and competence, training will have to be extended for so long that becoming a consultant will be a very distant goal. Abstract:
This article aimed to identify the water quality of the Liwagu River, Sabah, due to the impact of land use activities in the sub-basin area. The Liwagu river provides the main water source for the local population for domestic purposes. Observations on the water quality of the Liwagu river and identification of the types of land use activities along the river were investigated. Assessment of the Liwagu river water quality engaging six parameters, namely biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), chemical oxygen demand (COD), dissolved oxygen (DO), alkaline index (pH), ammonia nitrogen (NH3N) and suspended solids (SS) in five stations that were selected. All of the parameters were analyzed against the Water Quality Index (WQI) standards by the Department of Environment (DOE) Malaysia. Water quality sampling was carried out three times, which were in February, March, and April 2019. The results showed that the average value of WQI in February 2019 was at a good level (Class I), and in March and April, 2019 was at a clean level (Class II). The COD parameter showed values that exceeded the standards set by DOE Malaysia. The decline in water quality parameters was also contributed by tourism, agriculture, settlements, and loging upstream and along the river. In conclusion, the impact of land use activities on the quality of the Liwagu river was still under control and planned in terms of its development. However, monitoring for river pollution should be conducted regularly by various parties as an early step in preventing the degradation of the Liwagu river's water quality since the water source is also used by the nearby villagers as a source for water supply.

Abstract:
A parallel framework software, CCFD, based on the structure grid, and suitable for parallel computing of super-large-scale structure blocks, is designed and implemented. An overdecomposition method, in which the load balancing strategy is based on the domain decomposition method, is designed for the graph subdivision algorithm. This method takes computation and communication as the limiting condition and realizes the load balance between blocks by dividing the weighted graph. The fast convergence technique of a high-efficiency parallel geometric multigrid greatly improves the parallel efficiency and convergence speed of CCFD software. This paper introduces the software structure, process invocations, and calculation method of CCFD and introduces a hybrid parallel acceleration technology based on the Sunway TaihuLight heterogeneous architecture. The results calculated by Onera-M6 and DLR-F6 standard model show that the software structure and method in this paper are feasible and can meet the requirements of a large-scale parallel solution.

Abstract:
Karimata Strait is a part of Sunda Shelf connected South China Sea with Malacca Strait, Indian Ocean and Java Sea. This shelf was a large Sunda Land that has been detected by many evidences as records of various paleo-environments. The purpose of this study is to recognize the characteristic community of ostracoda related to the environmental history of this shelf. Three selected cores sediments represented east (A), middle (B) and west (C) parts of Karimata Strait were used for Ostracoda based on standard method on micropaleontology. Additional method was applied of SEM-EDX analysis to abnormal specimens. The result shows that there are 43 species of ostracoda belonging to 34 genera identified in the study area. The highest number of ostracoda is found in Core B, in the middle part of the strait, and the lowest value belongs to the Core A that close to the land of Kalimantan. Several genera of Ostracoda were documented in all cores: Actinocythereis, Cytherella, Cytherelloidea, Keijia, Keijella, Hemicytheridea, Hemikrithe, Neocytheretta, Neomonoceratina, Loxoconcha, Pistocythereis, Stigmatocythere and Xestoleberis. Vertically, ostracoda are mostly found in the upper part of the cores and decrease or disappear in the lower part of Cores A and C where dominated by black organic materials. It may relate to a wide swampy area before the last sea level rise as part of the history of the SundaShelf about 15,000 years ago. Some major elements (C, CaO, Al2O4, FeO, SiO2, MgOdan SO3 covered or filled abnormal specimens that can provide additional information about environmental changes in the study area, such as Carbon may relate to charcoal from land of Kalimatan and Sumatera Keywords: Ostracoda, subsurface sediment, EDX, environmental changes, Karimata Strait Selat Karimata merupakan bagian dari Paparan Sunda menghubungkan Laut China Selatan dengan Selat Malaka, Samudera Hindia, dan Laut Jawa. Abstract:
Today, private universities are required to have competitiveness, independence, sustainable reach, integrated information network, in order to maintain the quality of higher education. In fact, not all tertiary institutions have plenty of qualified resources to meet these demands. The emergence of changes in meso policy on higher education standards (SN Dikti) became a substantial influence for private tertiary institutions. Private tertiary institutions are urged to be able to adjust even beyond the standards of tertiary institutions that have been prepared by the central government. The external environment and any amendments to regulations for higher education meso policies may affect the choice of actions and institutional decisions in the operational process of higher education in terms of adapting with and adopting institutions. Abstract:
ObjectiveTwo major teaching methods available for learning the pivot shift test are active teaching with real-time feedback from an instructor and passive teaching through the use of instructional textbooks or videos. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of active and passive teaching methods on the execution of the proper technique of the pivot shift test.MethodsSix orthopaedic surgery residents each performed 110 pivot shift tests on a fresh-frozen, cadaveric pelvis-to-toe specimen with anterior cruciate ligament insufficiency and lateral meniscectomy. Participants performed 10 repetitions before teaching and a total of 100 repetitions after either active or passive teaching. Six degree-of-freedom kinematics of the knee defined by the Grood/Suntay coordinate system were recorded after every fifth repetition using an electromagnetic tracking system. Anterior/posterior translation of the lateral knee compartment during the reduction event was also quantified. Depending on the normality of the data, a two-tailed t-test or Wilcoxon rank-sum test was used for comparisons of kinematics between the active and passive teaching groups and between successful and unsuccessful trials within each teaching group. Statistical significance was set at p<0.05.ResultsThe success rate after active teaching was 31.7% compared with 30.0% after passive teaching. However, the starting position of the reduction event in the active teaching group was rotated by more than twice the amount of valgus rotation compared with the passive group (7.4°±3.3° vs 3.0°±2.7°; p<0.001). During the reduction event, the active teaching group underwent 4.4°±5.6° of external rotation, which is 10.6° in the opposite direction of the passive group (6.2°±4.8° of internal rotation; p<0.001).ConclusionSuccessful pivot shift tests can be performed after passive teaching, but the standard technique is not as effectively learnt through passive teaching since traditional external rotation during the reduction event was not used as in the active teaching group.Level of evidenceV.

Abstract:
Chrysanthemum × superbum, Coreopsis lanceolata, and Coreopsis grandiflora are LD flowering perennial plants. The end of juvenility could be defined as the minimum expanded leaf number required for fastest flowering once placed in LD. This research was conducted to compare juvenility and flowering requirements in dwarf and standard cultivars of these species. Plants were maintained under SD and transferred to LD upon reaching true leaf stages beginning with 0 (cotyledons only) and progressing at 2 or 3 leaf intervals to the 24 leaf stage. Coreopsis `Sunray' and Chrysanthemum `G. Marconi' were relatively unresponsive to LD whereas LD induced flowering in 70-100% of the plants in each leaf number treatment in Coreopsis `Early Sunrise'. Plants transferred at the 15 leaf stage required the least number of LD to reach anthesis. LD promoted complete flowering in Chrysanthemum × superbum `Snow Lady' plants and 90% of the SD control plants flowered as well. SD control plants from the other 3 cultivars remained vegetative. Effects of vernalization will also be presented.

Abstract:
Early one Sunday in 1948, Frederic Vercoe set out from his home in San Marino, California, for a speaking engagement in downtown Los Angeles. Perhaps he took the Arroyo Seco Parkway, which had opened for drivers 8 years before, linking the city more tightly with its “vast agglomerate of suburbs.” Although the roads may have changed, Vercoe had been making some version of this commute for decades. He had recently retired after a long career with the Los Angeles County Public Defender—13 years as a deputy, followed by 19 years as head of the office—and now maintained a small private law practice downtown. Many mornings, Vercoe would have had business at the Hall of Justice, the ten-story box of “gray California granite” that housed the jails and courtrooms. On this particular morning, he was headed instead to Clifton's Cafeteria at Seventh Street and Broadway. Perhaps, as he drove the dozen miles west into the city, he admired the “geraniums, cosmos, sweet peas, asters and marigolds” that lined the “gardens, parkways, and driveways,” or perhaps he was used to the foliage by now. Vercoe had lived in California for more than 30 years, making him, by West Coast standards, a real “old-timer.”

Abstract:
AbstractThe present study is intended to get to know the levels of perimeter diurnal environmental noise of four hospitals in the city of Lima. The measurement mode used at each hospital was A-weighting, with an integration time of five minutes per recording. It was measured in the FAST mode with calibrations made at the beginning and end of the measurement day. Statistical analysis consisted of the mean comparison T test which was applied at all the hospitals considered in the study. At the four hospitals, at all the hours of measurement and both on working days and non-working days (Sunday), LAeq mean values are higher than 83 dBA. On working days, two periods of maximum noise from 08:00 to 10:00 in the morning and from 17:00 to 19:00 in the afternoon coincide with the start and end of working hours. The perimeter diurnal environmental noise levels determined at the vicinity of four hospitals show higher values in all cases to those established by the Peruvian National Environmental Standards for Noise for special protection areas both for working days and for non-working days. Noise that comes from the dense and disorganized traffic of Lima plays a fundamental role in this behaviour.
