Abstract:
Abstract The Akan notion of sunsum may form the basis for an ecological pneumatology. Sunsum may be understood as the central, unifying vitality which integrates various elements in Akan thought. Amongst the Akan, God has Sunsum and anything which exists in its natural state has sunsum, a spark from God. The concept of sunsum expresses how the “one” (Onyame) and the “many” (nature including human beings) are related. It is the dynamic equivalent of the Holy Spirit in the Akan Twi Bible. Sunsum is energy, life, communicating itself and transcending itself. It is absolute spirit, who enlivens the whole universe. The Akan concept of sunsum suggests the possibility of a union of the concrete with the universal. The concept of sunsum may therefore enable one to speak of the Holy Spirit and its relation both to God and to nature. This proposal may also enable one to understand the Holy Spirit as cosmic in nature and as divine in being. This contribution offers theological reflection on the implications of the notion of sunsum for ecotheology.

Abstract:
Reikšminiai žodžiai: nusikalstama veika, psichikos sutrikimai, priverstinis gydymas, nusikalstamos veikos sunkumas. Tyrimo tikslas. Įvertinti nusikalstamą veiką ir jos sunkumą lemiančius veiksnius bei ryšį su psichikos sutrikimais. Tyrimo medžiaga ir metodai. Tyrimo metu retrospektyviai išnagrinėtos VšĮ Rokiškio psichiatrijos ligoninėje 2010–2013 metais teismo sprendimu priverstinai gydytų visų pacientų ligos istorijos. Tyrimo objektas – 302 pacientų ligos istorijos. Tyrimo metu vertinta pacientų pagrindinė klinikinė diagnozė, nusikalstama veika ir jos sunkumas, asmens būsena nusikaltimo metu, amžius pirmojo teistumo metu, ankstesnis priverstinis, ambulatorinis ir stacionarinis gydymas, paveldimumas, šeiminė padėtis, išsilavinimas. Statistinė analizė atlikta SPSS statistiniu paketu, 17 versija. Tyrimo rezultatai. Statistiškai reikšmingos priklausomybės nustatytos lyginant tiriamųjų klinikinę diagnozę, lytį, narkotinių medžiagų priklausomybę, psichikos būseną nusikaltimo padarymo metu ir nusikalstamos veikos sunkumą (atitinkamai p = 0,033, p = 0,031, p = 0,001, p = 0,02). Taip pat nustatyta statistiškai reikšminga priklausomybė tarp pacientų, kurie gydėsi ambulatoriškai ir/arba stacionare prieš nusikalsdami, ir nusikalstamos veikos sunkumo (p < 0,001). Išvados. Nesunkius nusikaltimus dažniausiai padaro moterys, pacientai, kuriems diagnozuota šizofrenija, šizotipinis ar kliedesiniai sutrikimai, pacientai su psichikos ir elgesio sutrikimais, vartojantys psichoaktyviąsias medžiagas, ir tie, kurie prieš nusikaltimą gydėsi ambulatoriškai ar stacionare.

Šizofrenija yra liga, sukelianti daug sunkumų ne tik pacientui, bet ir jį slaugantiems asmenims. Lietuvoje nėra plačiai tyrinėta šizofrenijos pasekmės asmenims, kurie slaugo sergančius šia liga pacientus, be to labai trūksta valstybės finansuojamos pagalbos psichikos ligonių artimiesiems. Šio darbo tikslas yra nustatyti artimųjų, slaugančių sergančius šizofrenija, patiriamų slaugymo sunkumų sąsajas su šių sunkumų įveikimo strategijomis. Tyrime dalyvavo 98 Panevėžio ir Marijampolės apskričių gyventojai. Tirti sergančių šizofrenija artimieji. Šiame darbe buvo matuoti objektyvūs (asmenų, slaugančių sergančiuosius šizofrenija užduotys, susijusios su paciento būkle) ir subjektyvūs slaugymo sunkumai (savijauta, kurią sukelia šių užduočių atlikimas) bei slaugymo sunkumų įveikos strategijos. Slaugymo sunkumai matuoti dvejomis metodikomis: objektyvūs slaugymo sunkumai - Įsitraukimo įvertinimo klausimynu (angl. Involvement Evaluation Questionnaire; IEQ), kurio pirmoji versija buvo sukurta 1987 m.(autorius - Schene A.H.); subjektyvūs slaugymo sunkumai - Bendru sveikatos klausimynu -12 (angl. The consequences of schizophrenia to the persons, who are nursing the patients ailing with this illness are not researched in Lithuania generally, besides, the relatives of the mental diseases patients lack financing aid from the state. The goal of the present thesis is to establish the links of the caregiving burden with the caregiving burden overcoming strategies of the relatives caregiving the patients with schizophrenia and the aid received. 98 residents from Panevėžys and Marijampolė counties participated in the research. The relatives of the person ill with schizophrenia were surveyed. In the present thesis I substantiated the objective (tasks of the persons nursing the patients with schizophrenia related to the patient‘s state) and the subjective caregiving burden (the state of health causing performance of the tasks) and the strategies of the caregiving burden overcoming. The Sunset is a natural phenomenon that occurs every single day. Arguably, the sunset is one of the most romanticized natural event in all forms of art. In this wider context, the hypothesis posits architecture as an instrument to amplify specific visible aspects of the setting sun. The guidance for development relies on deconstructing and intensifying a specific spatial condition that interacts with effect the rays of the evening sun. Set in focus are three particular elements of the sunset, color, light, view and the subsequent darkness. In this architectural array, the chosen aspects of sunset are awarded a specific presence in their dedicated spaces. The spaces presenting those specific aspects of the sunset are organized as a sequence in the architectural construct of a long tunnel-like pathway. Tyrimo objektas – įmonių finansinių sunkumų diagnozavimas. Darbo tikslas – sukurti įmonių finansinių sunkumų diagnozavimo modelį ir jį patikrinti pasirinktų įmonių pavyzdžiu. Tyrimo uždaviniai:  išanalizuoti ir susisteminti anksčiau sukurtus bankroto prognozavimo modelius ir jų testavimo rezultatus;  sudaryti įmonių finansinių sunkumų diagnozavimo modelį;  patikrinti sukurto modelio tinkamumą pasirinktų įmonių tarpe. Tyrimo metodai. Analizuojant bankroto prognozavimo modelius ir jų testavimo rezultatus atlikta mokslinės ir metodinės literatūros loginė ir lyginamoji analizė bei sintezė. Įmonių finansinių sunkumų diagnozavimo modeliui parengti skaičiuoti finansiniai santykiniai rodikliai bei atlikta statistinė analizė, rezultatai pateikti taikant monografinį metodą. Remiantis indukcijos metodu ir logine analize tikrintas sukurto finansinių sunkumų diagnozavimo modelio tinkamumas analizuotų įmonių tarpe. Tyrimo rezultatai. Pirmojoje darbo dalyje išanalizuota finansinių sunkumų esmė bei juos sąlygojančios priežastys, nustatytas finansinių sunkumų diagnozavimo būtinumas, išnagrinėti ir apibendrinti bankroto prognozavimo modeliai bei išskirti dažniausiai juose naudojami finansiniai santykiniai rodikliai. Research aim - to create diagnostic model for company financial difficulties and to test it using cases of selected companies. Objectives:  to analyze and systematize previously developed bankruptcy prediction models and their test results;  to create a diagnostic model for company financial difficulties;  to analyze the relevance of the model with the selected companies. Research methods: logical and comparative analysis of scientific and methodical literature, statistical analysis, monographic method, induction method, logical analysis. Research results. The first part analyzes the financial difficulties and their underlying causes, establishes the necessity of the financial stress test model, analyzes and summarizes bankruptcy prediction models, and distinguishes the most frequently used financial ratios. Thesis (MEng)--Stellenbosch University, 2000.<br>ENGLISH ABSTRACT: The SUNSAT RAMDISK was studied, and tests performed to assess its flight readiness. Errors were detected, and modifications had to be made to ensure proper operation. SUNSAT was subsequently launched, and to date the RAMDISK is still functioning correctly. The flight readiness testing of the RAMDISK was considered a pre-study to designing a second generation RAMDISK. A conceptual mass memory storage device support structure was designed. This second generation RAMDISK, or memory drive is intended to be used on a second generation SUNSAT, or SUNSAT 2. The design is targeted for implementation in fields programmable gate arrays (FPGA's) and was realised using VHDL. This hardware description language is an accepted standard, and can be implemented in a number of different programmable logic devices; both SRAM and fuse-link based. Simulations were performed to verity the functionality of the design, and to determine whether the data transfer specifications could be met using programmable logic devices. A modular design methodology was followed. The memory drive was designed so that any type and amount of memory can be added to the drive without a major design change. Thesis (MEng)--University of Stellenbosch, 2001.<br>ENGLISH ABSTRACT: SRMA currently used on the SUNSAT field station is an effective MAC layer protocol but lacks several features. Sufficient support for flexible communication, acknowledgement of individual data packets, simultaneous communication of multiple instances from a higher layer over a single underlying layer, and a robust FTP procedure to transfer large amounts of data are some of the features that the SUNSA T field station should cater for. ORBCOMM, GSM and WAP implementations are discussed. Some features from these implementations that are useful in the LEO communication environment are designed into an additional layer of software. This additional layer, called middleware, is proposed and uses SRMA services to deliver store-and-forward services. It supports high volumes of short transactions and session suspend and resume facilities between the SUNSA T satellite and field station. Dit is onvoldoende om fasiliteite soos kommunikasie van 'n aantal instansies in 'n hoër kommunikasie laag oor 'n enkele laer laag en om 'n robuuste data oordrag protokol vir groot hoeveelhede data van 'n grondterminaal te ondersteun. ORBCOMM, GSM en WAP stelsel toepassings word bespreek. Resultate wat spruit uit die drie toepassings word gebruik om kommunikasie in 'n lae wentelbaan kommunikasie omgewing te bevorder. 'n Bykomende sagteware laag, bekend as middle-ware, word aanbeveel om voorafgenoemde funksionaliteit mee te implimenteer. Die middle-ware gebruik die beskikbare dienste van die SRMA pakketkommunikasie-protokol om toegang te verkry na die kommunikasie kanaal. Ateities lūkesčių, tikslų ir planavimo tyrimai yra labai svarbūs, ypač siekiant padėti paaugliams susidoroti su vis didėjančiais reikalavimais ir išbandymais bei siekiant sumažinti dėl jų kylančią įtampą ir įvairias problemas. Remiantis J.E. Nurmi (1991, 1993), tam tikri ateities planavimo sunkumai gali būti rimtas signalas apie kitas paauglių problemas, taigi akivaizdu, kad sėkmingas paauglio funkcionavimas yra susijęs su ateities planavimu ir tikslų kėlimu. Ateities orientacijos samprata šiame darbe apima ateities tikslus, lūkesčius ir su tuo susijusį nerimą, baimę, taip pat strategijas, būdus, padedančius siekti numatytų tikslų, bei patį ateities orientacijų procesą, kurį sudaro trys etapai – motyvacija, planavimas ir įvertinimas, o tam didelę įtaką daro kognityvinės strategijos, kurios lemia tai, kaip asmuo vertins savo galimybes pasiekti tikslų, kokiais būdais jų bus siekiama ir panašiai. Analizuojant ateities planavimą, svarbūs faktoriai yra ateities lūkesčių turinys bei planuojamo laiko perspektyva (Nurmi, 1991, 1993, 1995; Ruiz, Llinares, Zacares, 2003). Tyrime siekiama atskleisti, kokie ateities planavimo ypatumai būdingi sunkumų turintiems (depresija sergantiems, elgesio ir valgymo sutrikimų turintiems) paaugliams, išnagrinėti, kuo skiriasi sunkumų turinčių ir sveikų paauglių ateities planavimas bei kokie yra skirtumus lemiantys veiksniai. [toliau žr. visą tekstą]<br>SUMMARY Research on how adolescents see their future and what goals and plans they set for the future are extremely important in order to help adolescents to cope with increasing demands and tension they inflict. According to J.E. Nurmi (1991, 1993), various difficulties in formulating future plans can be an important indicator of other problems adolescents face. It is obvious, that adolescents‘ future-oriented decisions crucially influence their lifes, furthermore it is normative age-specific task. That is why analysis of future expectations, specific to problematic adolescents, is so important. In this research future-orientation is described in terms of three psychological processes, motivation, planning and evaluation, which is highly influenced by cognitive strategies that moderate the process of evaluating one‘s abilities and setting strategies to achieve goals. The content and time perspective are also important factors of future-orientation (Nurmi, 1991, 1993, 1995; Ruiz, Llinares, Zacares, 2003). This research reveals future expectations specific to problematic (i.e. those who suffer from depression, conduct disorder and eating disorders) adolescents; how they differ from their healthy peers and what factors contribute to these differences. Abstract:
Darbe yra analizuojami kitakalbių mokinių, turinčių mokymosi sunkumų, psichosocialinės adaptacijos veiksniai. Pagrindiniam darbo tikslui pasiekti buvo iškelti tokie uždaviniai: 1. Ištirti mokinių elgesio ir emocinius sunkumus. 2. Įvertinti vaikų socialinę aplinką. 3. Įvertinti mokinių pažangumą, lankomumą ir drausmę. Apie vaikų psichikos sveikatą, socialinę aplinką informacija buvo renkama iš mokytojų ir tėvų. Iš viso gauta informacija apie 65 mokymosi sunkumus turinčius kitakalbius pradinio mokyklinio amžiaus vaikus. Vaikų psichikos sveikata tirta R. Goodmano Galių ir sunkumų klausimynu tėvų ir mokytojų versija. Vertinant mokinių pažangumą, lankomumą ir drausmę buvo analizuojami klasės dienyno duomenys. Informacija apie vaiko socialinę aplinką buvo surinkta pateikiant uždarų klausimų anketas mokytojams ir tėvams. Mokymosi sunkumų turintys kitakalbiai mokiniai pasižymi hiperaktyvumu, turi elgesio, emocijų ir bendravimo su bendraamžiais problemų. Berniukams labiau būdingas hiperaktyvumas, elgesio ir emocijų sunkumai, jie turi žymiai daugiau drausmės problemų. Mergaičių emocijos, elgesys bei santykiai su bendraamžiai labiau atitinka normas. Mokiniai pamokas lanko, tačiau kiekvienas vaikas vidutiniškai praleidžia 2 dienų pamokas be pateisinamos priežasties. Dauguma mokymosi sunkumų turinčių kitakalbių mokinių turi draugų, tačiau tarp jų yra tokių, kurie yra atstumiami bendraklasių arba patys skriaudžia savo klasės draugus. [toliau žr. visą tekstą]<br>The paper analyzes the psychosocial adjustment factors of lingual minorities’ children with learning difficulties. The following objectives have been raised for attaining the main goal of the thesis: 1. To examine behavioral and emotional difficulties of pupils. 2. To assess social environment of children. 3. To assess academic performance of pupils, their attendance and discipline. Information about children’s mental health, social environment was collected from teachers and parents. In total, information about learning difficulties of 65 pre-school age children of lingual minorities has been received. The children’s mental health was surveyed on the basis of R. Goodman’s questionnaire of strengths and difficulties, and the teachers’ version. When assessing academic performance, attendance and discipline of pupils, information from the daybook was analyzed. Information about the child’s environment was collected by submitting questionnaires with closed questions for teachers and parents. Lingual minorities’ pupils with learning difficulties were distinguished for hyper-activeness, had behavioral, emotional and communication problems with peers. Hyper-activeness, as well as behavioral and emotional difficulties was more characteristic for boys; they had a lot more disciplinary problems. Approved for public release; distribution is unlimited<br>U.S. national security strategy sets nuclear nonproliferation as a high priority. However pursuing nonproliferation without regard for important traditional security relationships might yield undesired results. The Republic of Korea (ROK) requires a high degree of confidence in the U.S. security guarantee one that includes an extended nuclear deterrent. The nuclear weapons program that South Korea began and abandoned in the 1970s was prompted by a decrease in confidence in U.S. security commitments. Conciliatory actions taken recently by the United States toward the Democratic Peoples' Republic of Korea (DPRK) to prevent a possible nuclear weapons program may undermine the U.S.-ROK security arrangement that has been in place for decades. This work examines perceived threats to South Korea and the U.S. security commitment to Korea since 1945 to reveal how U.S. nuclear nonproliferation policy affects Seoul's propensity to develop nuclear weapons. Recommendations are provided for policy makers regarding strengthening of ROK confidence in the U.S. commitment on the peninsula, with particular emphasis on preventing South Korea from pursuing a nuclear arsenal
