Abstract:
Ten jumping spider species published by Song and Chai in 1992 are restudied. The following new synonyms are proposed: Chinattus emeiensis (Peng & Xie, 1995) syn. nov. [=C. undulatus (Song & Chai, 1992)], Evarcha paralbaria Song & Chai, 1992 syn. nov. (= E. coreana Seo, 1988), Ptocasius nanyuensis (Xie & Peng, 1995) syn. nov. [=P. badongensis (Song & Chai, 1992)]. Evarcha orientalis (Song & Chai, 1992) is transferred to Nigorella Wesołowska & Tomasiewicz, 2008. The synonymy status of Chinattus szechwanensis (Prószyński, 1992) with C. undulatus (Song & Chai, 1992) and Nigorella hunanensis (Peng, Xie & Kim, 1993) with N. hirticeps (Song & Chai, 1992) are restored.

Abstract:
In this study, we developed very simple and ULSI (ultra large scale integration) compatible fabrication processes for group-IV (Si1 –xGe x and Si) semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) to apply hybrid ULSIs with photonic and electron devices, using double Ge+/Si+ hot-ion implantation into a SiO2 layer with larger bandgap EG and the post-furnace annealing. We successfully demonstrated the near-infrared (IR) photoluminescence (PL) from Si1 –xGe x-QDs. Transmission electron microscopy observations of single-crystallized Si1 –xGe x-QDs revealed that the diameter and the QD density were 3.6 ± 0.9 nm and (2.6 ± 0.4) × 1012 cm−2, respectively. In addition, Ge atoms were detected in the Si1 –xGe x-QDs by the energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy analysis, and the Ge fraction of Si1– xGe x-QDs was varied from 0.06 to 0.26 by changing the Ge ion dose. The increase in the PL intensity by forming gas annealing was attributed to the dangling-bond reduction by the H-atom termination method. The PL spectrum of Si1 –xGe x-QDs was fitted by PL components of two QD structures containing Si1 –xGe x and Si materials. The PL intensity and PL-peak photon energy of Si1 –xGe x-QDs strongly depended on the Ge fraction. The Si1 –xGe x-QDs achieved the maximum PL intensity at x ≈ 0.13. High PL-peak photon energy (∼1.31 eV) of Si1 –xGe x-QDs is attributed to the quantum confinement effect of carriers in QDs. Consequently, group-IV semiconductor QDs including Si1 –xGe x, Si, SiC, and C, through the simple hot-ion implantation into the SiO2 layer, exhibited a wide range of PL emissions from the near-IR to ultraviolet regions.

Abstract:
The publication contains review of the genera of jumping spiders: Emertonius, Evarcha, Nigorella, Padilothorax, Stagetillus, and delimits five more new genera, provides graphic documentation for species considered recognizable and adds description of four new species. The taxonomic procedures are carried out according to methodology of "pragmatic classification", which stresses importance of graphic diagnostic characters presented in a comparative way (see also review at “Methodological postulates” subchapter). Some new procedures are introduced, testing their acceptability. The following new genera are delimited and described in this paper: Evarcha Simon, 1889 s. s. (a part of Evarcha s. l.), Evacin Prószyński, 2017 gen. n., Evalba Prószyński, 2017 gen. n., Evaneg Prószyński, 2017 gen. n., Evawes Prószyński, 2017 gen. n., Padillothorus gen. n. Abstract:
The presented article considers the theoretical ideas about the foundations of the phenomenon of punishment in the time interval from the Old Testament to the formation of positivist methodology of the middle of the 19th century. The author relies in his study on the interpretation of culture according to the concept of activity, developed by the Rostov school of philosophy. Culture is understood as a set of ways of human life activity. On this basis, punishment can be presented as a certain tool for individuals to realize their right to ensure the security of their own and society. The author demonstrates the validity of punishment in the Old Testament and Middle Ages on the Divine will. In this connection, the talion and horde of punishment dominated as types of punishment. The human judgment here, following the eternal law of God, punishes not so much the offender himself as the very act of the criminal act. In modern times, the concept of the social contract emerges on the scene of social and humanitarian theoretical thought. On this basis, the grounds of punishment are explicated in the field of rationality. T. Hobbes, the founder of the social contract theory, shows the determination of punishment by the arbitrariness of individuals. I. Kant and J. G. Fichte see this ground in the subjective will. And H.W.F. Hegel sees such a basis in the objective will. With the emergence of the positivist methodology of O. Comte leads to a revolution in the understanding of the foundations of socio-cultural phenomena. But this is already the subject of new research.

Abstract:
Within the framework of the article, the issue of the military-police bodies development in Russia from 1815 to 1917 is investigated. It is noted that before the formation of cadre military-police units, already from the 17th century, the law provided for special military ranks, who were entrusted with the tasks of maintaining law and order in the army at the early stages of its formation. An example is given of the police service of the Ingermanland Dragoon Regiment during the Patriotic War of 1812, which became the prototype of the regular military-police unit. The organization of the service, functions, powers, stages of formation and legislative acts regulating the activities of military-police units are considered. A brief history of the Guards gendarme half-squadron is revealed, examples of the military police performing the assigned tasks are given. The generalization, structuring of the tasks and functions assigned to the military police during the First World War are made. It is concluded that the creation of personnel military-police units within the army was one of the stages and a logical continuation of the genesis of military-police bodies in Russia. A comparative analysis of the activities of military-police bodies at different times is carried out, while it is noted that the tasks and functions of the military police have remained largely unchanged over time.

Abstract:

This thesis studies South Burgundy small rural churches steeple focusing on their 11th-12th centuries architecture and wall decoration. These two elements can be either connected or unrelated. This opens the door to erroneous judgments when both are approached into a single classification. In fact, the first impression mural a decoration often conveys is reminiscent of the "first Romanesque art". However, building a wall out of simply squared rubble stones and heavy mortar corresponds to the proper use of available materials and does not automatically classify the steeples in "first Romanesque art". The analysis of constructive and decorative choices made by master masons and sponsoring benefactors across the corpus of 112 steeples considered in this research reveals the existence of a typical "standard" bell tower constructive design to which a mural decoration is added. This highlights the existence of a clear constant: the choice of construction materials, simple expensive, low-tech, while also fashionable. The recurrence of this model has played a unifying role in the Christian landscape the resulting from and aspired to by the Gregorian reform

From 1773 to 1958, black glassworkers produce some Champagne bottles in Avesnois-Thiérache (North of France). There are two periods : from the origins to the end of 1860's, and from 1868, when railway open this land to world trade, to 1958, when the last glass bottle factory stop definitively activities. A lot of subjects are developed : process, trade, social history and economical crises

Abstract:
The XI-XII centuries were examined in four chapters: the political and military history, shows the multicultural agitation of this period, transitional for the Normans, the new foreign dynasty , within a context , deeply Greek Byzantine, the human geography ( language, populations, administrative geography, Italo-Greek identity, anthropological research of the Normans in the Italian territory, the law, diplomas, monetary, seals, Norman art), presents the interdependency of the historical events and human conditions, the coexistence and the interculturation of the Normans with the Greek Byzantine culture, the ecclesiastical organization, which, after the council of Melfi (1059) put the new Episcopal substructure to impose the papacy against the Greek Church, although her resistance and to end within a situation of coexistence for the two religious rites for a long time. Then, the monastic organization appears more complicated due to the beginning of the Latin monastic orders, supported from the Papacy, integrated in the Italo-Greek communities. Nevertheless, the Greek culture lasted, especially in the monarchism of southern Italy, without ignoring the development of the Latin monarchism, the result of the Norman monastic policy. Thereafter, the Hofenstaufen dynasty (1198-1266) followed, showing that the multicultural history of the region consolidates in relation with the Greek element, giving the priority to the western element. This part was equally examined through the political, ecclesiastical, monastic, notary, legal, language fields .Finally, the Angevin dynasty (1266-1442) restored the European polyphony in the territory of southern Italy, despite the willingness of the Angevin Kings to impose the monarchical model. This part was also studied in political, ecclesiastical and monastic fields. The foreign powers dominated over the centuries by contributing in a cultural mosaic such as the identity or the identity elements of the Italo-Greek communities could have coexisted with all the dominant cultures, drawing always from their own origins since the period of the domination of the Byzantine Empire. Despite the presence of various ethnic and cultural migrations on the spot, the Greek Byzantine element as a culture proved to be more determinative so that it persists over time

Abstract:
For the first time, the corpus of Roman wood sculptures from Burgundy is gathered together in a catalogue, with added photographic documents and bibliography. The twenty-five sculptures are listed and studied from a stylistic, iconographic and technical point of view. In the XIIth century, an actual school of monastic wood sculpture seemed to develop within the boundaries of the duchy of Burgundy, bringing a great diversity as far as formal and technical contributions are concerned. The sculptures that are the most representative to help the understanding of those numerous contributions are thoroughly studied. Their stylistic relationships with manuscripts dating back from the Carolingian Renaissance, with the Ottonian sculpture and the contemporary monumental stone sculpture, are pointed out with the analysis of internal characteristics, setting apart different formal languages. The iconographic description shows the specific denotation used in the representation of the holy character. The technical processes of creation are compared through the direct examination of the sculptures and through the collection of usable information. For several pieces, a new dating was suggested; new sculptures and specific artists are brought to notice. The contributions of the wood sculpture from the Auvergne region are specified. The tradition of inserting relics into sculptures is put in relation to the relatively important influence it can have on the building of the shape. One chapter is dedicated to the methodology in the study of wood sculptures’ polychromes. The conservators-restorers play a crucial part in the act of scientifically collecting information attesting the evolution of artistic techniques. Some suggestions are put forward to improve the processes of examination and the collecting of information

Nieddu, Luisa. Thesis, Corte, 2022. http://www.theses.fr/2022CORT0003.

Full text
Abstract:
The research project carried out here is the result of a territorial census connected with an action of identification and recognition of the movable heritage of the XV-XVI century in Corsica, which I commenced on behalf of the Directorate of the Heritage of the Collectivité de Corse, back in 2004. This discussion therefore presents for the first time an analytical inventory of the wooden altarpieces of the chronological phase in question, in which, on the basis of formal and stylistic values, the pictorial evidences are linked to their possible cultural matrices of reference. In 1453 the Republic of Genoa transferred the island to the powerful institute of the Bank of Saint George, which possessed it at least until 1562. However, the island, Genoese from a political-administrative point of view, was not Genoese from a cultural-figurative one. In general, it would seem that the local artists refashioned in a reductive and basically modest way the styles of the masters working in the North Western Italian area (from Liguria to the Oltregiogo, to the Po Valley, and to Nice region), creating their own language, so much reworked in its simplification to make hardly recognizable any figurative matrices of the mainland. However, thanks to the commercial flows and the constant political relations with the Motherland, the island proved to be receptive to the impulses coming from the entire coastal arc of Liguria, in equal measure from the two shores of Ponente and Levante, as proved by the retable of Cassano, signed and dated by Antonio da Calvi in 1505. There was also a flow of up-to-date creations along the transalpine traffic routes into Corsica, such as the polyptych of the Assumption of Canari attributed to the mature phase of the Piedmontese Agostino Bombelli (1530 ca.). The sending of this work documents the spread in the territory of a "Palladian window" architectural scheme, with a triumphal arch, based on more modernized criteria, similar to the polyptychs of Moltifato and Tox. There are also cases that suggest adhesion to Lombard naturalism, and more specifically the Ligurian-Pavese one, such as the Madonna and Child of Piedicroce. The critical rediscovery of the figurative heritage of Corsica thus highlights how much this is the product of heterogeneous conjunctures, expressed by native masters who reworked multiple stylistic features according to their own means, so that perhaps we can finally speak of a "Corsican pictorial school"

The 1960s-era congressional bills that sought to add an occupational disability standard to the disability insurance program would have significantly expanded eligibility while simplifying the adjudicative process by eliminating the work-adjustment assessment and all vocational and labor market considerations other than those pertaining to one’s own principal occupation(s).ix Under the 1960s-era proposals, claimants who demonstrated an inability to perform past relevant work would be deemed disabled.x At present, this proposal would confront a series of functional, conceptual, and political obstacles. First, it is likely inconsistent with the American ethos on job mobility assumptions outside of one’s social or economic class.xi With an occupational disability standard, persons unable to perform their past highly skilled, highly remunerative work would be excused from the social obligation of making adjustments to a wider range of less demanding, less esteemed, and less remunerative work than those whose past work was unskilled and more generic.xii

Full text
Abstract:
ABSTRACT Understanding the failure process of tight reservoir rocks is essential for reservoir stimulation with hydraulic fracturing. The acoustic emission (AE) technique has proven to be an effective tool to monitor fracture propagation and thus characterize the rock failure process. In the present study, AE is employed to investigate different rock failure processes under uniaxial compression. We use four typical tight reservoir rocks from oil and gas production fields in China. We employed an unsupervised machine learning method to classify the recorded AE waveforms and evaluated the results via two score systems: elbow and silhouette scores. The cluster number is approximately constant for all samples, indicating that this method provides a more precise and reliable interpretation of the rock failure process. Machine learning results demonstrate that AE events could be distinguished into three clusters, which could relate to the mechanisms of the microscopic ruptures, i.e., tensile, shear, and mixed cracking types. Our results reveal that cracks formed under low-stress conditions are predominantly in tensile failure mode, and the failure mode transit into shear ruptures before the compression peak strength. In addition, different strength of weak planes could diversify the process of tensile-to-shear rupture transition by affecting the local stress concentration. This research may help understand the failure mechanism in tight reservoir rocks and shed light on further hydraulic fracturing technology in reservoir development. INTRODUCTION Tight reservoirs contain rich oil and gas resources, collectively known as tight oil and gas (Abdel-Aal et al., 2003; Jia et al., 2022; Ma and Holditch, 2015; Pang et al., 2015; Zendehboudi and Bahadori, 2016). The vast reserves of tight oil and gas are an important supplement to conventional oil and gas, and their effective commercial development relies on new underground reservoir engineering technologies such as horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing (Rezaei et al., 2020; Zhang et al., 2016; Zou et al., 2018). The development of these technologies requires the support of rock mechanics, with the most important part being the problem of fracture propagation in tight reservoirs. Different from conventional oil and gas reservoirs, tight reservoirs have abundant layers of weak planes formed by geological sedimentation, leading to the special rock mechanical behaviour (Heng et al., 2020; Kumar et al., 2019; Suo et al., 2020). Based on traditional rock mechanics models, it is not possible to predict the underground fracture expansion, which brings various disasters such as fracturing failure, reservoir pollution, and induced earthquakes (Ham and Kwon, 2020; Wu et al., 2022; Xie et al., 2020). Therefore, it is necessary to conduct in-depth research on rock fracture in tight reservoirs.

Abstract:

Abstract:
A concentração de renda é um dos principais problemas tanto no Brasil como um todo como nas unidades federativas. Esta disparidade é abordada por muitos autores como sendo conseqüência de outras desigualdades como a educacional, a racial, entre gêneros e ainda regional. Neste estudo a desigualdade de renda é medida pelo índice de disparidade T-Theil, a partir de sua decomposição adaptada da metodologia de Akita (2000), a qual é realizada em cinco níveis tendo como resultado final os componentes: inter-rural/urbano, inter-gêneros, inter-racial, inter-grupos educacionais e intra-grupos educacionais. Nessa abordagem é possível observar o diferencial devido à desigualdade dentro de cada grupo e a causada pelo fator de separação dos grupos. Como principais resultados destacam-se: i) queda da desigualdade brasileira e dos estados do Sul no período de analise; ii) A desigualdade brasileira apresentou-se praticamente todo o período acima da dos estados, sendo que dentre os estados o mais desigual é o Paraná e o menos desigual é o Rio Grande do Sul; iii) A disparidade de renda urbana também reduziu, tanto no Brasil quanto nos estados analisados, enquanto na área rural cresceu no Paraná e Rio Grande do Sul, tendo apresentado queda apenas para Santa Catarina; iv) desigualdade entre os homens superior à desigualdade no grupo das mulheres; v) maior desigualdade no grupo racial de pessoas brancas comparativamente ao de não brancas; vi) componente inter área rural-urbana representando entre 3 e 5% da desigualdade brasileira, 1,5% e 4% no Paraná, entre 1 e 6% no Rio Grande do sul (que é também o estado que apresenta maior queda deste componente no período) e entre 1,5 e 2,5% em Santa Catarina; vii) componente inter-gêneros tem maior representabilidade do total da desigualdade no Rio Grande do Sul, estando entre 6 e 8%, enquanto tem menor representabilidade em Santa Catarina onde fica entre 3 e 5%; ; viii) componente inter-racial menor no Rio Grande do Sul, ficando entre 1 e 2% enquanto a nível brasileiro representa cerca de 6,5%, em Santa Catarina por volta de 2,5% e no Paraná em média aproximadamente 3%; ix) componente inter-grupos educacionais representou cerca de 30% da desigualdade no período para o Brasil, entre 26 e 33% no Paraná, para o Rio Grande do Sul apresentou a menor representabilidade variando entre 25 e 28% da desigualdade total, já para Santa Catarina entre 32 e 34%;

Abstract:
This article intends to analyze the process of formation of the city of Niterói (RJ) through the study of its cartography and historical iconography, with emphasis in the nineteenth century, relating them to the events experienced by the city and using as theoretical reference the concepts proposed by the French morphologist Philippe Panerai. This way, analyzing the maps, it seeks to identify concepts such as lines and growth centers, barriers, and limits, which structured the current form of the city, to understand its occupation process, and its similarities with what occurred in the city of Rio de Janeiro. For this, it used the vast iconographic and cartographic collection of the city, carried out largely by the proximity of Niterói to Rio de Janeiro and by the prominent position it acquired over a long time, being the capital of the province (1835-1889) and capital of the state of Rio de Janeiro (1889-1975). Thus, through the study of urban evolution portrayed in cartography and its comparison with the current tissue, it is clearly perceived a linear growth from the central region towards the valleys permeated by mountains and the sea, being this occupation planned during the nineteenth century. Keywords: Niterói, urban morphology, Panerai, historical cartography. Abstract:
In the original proposal we planned to focus on two proteins related to the actin cytoskeleton: TCH2, a touch-induced calmodulin-like protein which was found by us to interact with the IQ domain of myosin VIII, ATM1; and ERD10, a dehydrin which was found to associate with actin filaments. As reported previously, no other dehydrins were found to interact with actin filaments. In addition so far we were unsuccessful in confirming the interaction of TCH2 with myosin VIII using other methods. In addition, no other myosin light chain candidates were found in a yeast two hybrid survey. Nevertheless we have made a significant progress in our studies of the role of myosins in plant cells. Plant myosins have been implicated in various cellular activities, such as cytoplasmic streaming (1, 2), plasmodesmata function (3-5), organelle movement (6-10), cytokinesis (4, 11, 12), endocytosis (4, 5, 13-15) and targeted RNA transport (16). Plant myosins belong to two main groups of unconventional myosins: myosin XI and myosin VIII, both closely related to myosin V (17-19). The Arabidopsis myosin family contains 17 members: 13 myosin XI and four myosin VIII (19, 20). The data obtained from our research of myosins was published in two papers acknowledging BARD funding. To address whether specific myosins are involved with the motility of specific organelles, we cloned the cDNAs from neck to tail of all 17 Arabidopsis myosins. These were fused to GFP and used as dominant negative mutants that interact with their cargo but are unable to walk along actin filaments. Therefore arrested organelle movement in the presence of such a construct shows that a particular myosin is involved with the movement of that particular organelle. While no mutually exclusive connections between specific myosins and organelles were found, based on overexpression of dominant negative tail constructs, a group of six myosins (XIC, XIE, XIK, XI-I, MYA1 and MYA2) were found to be more important for the motility of Golgi bodies and mitochondria in Nicotiana benthamiana and Nicotiana tabacum (8). Further deep and thorough analysis of myosin XIK revealed a potential regulation by head and tail interaction (Avisar et al., 2011). A similar regulatory mechanism has been reported for animal myosin V and VIIa (21, 22). In was shown that myosin V in the inhibited state is in a folded conformation such that the tail domain interacts with the head domain, inhibiting its ATPase and actinbinding activities. Cargo binding, high Ca2+, and/or phosphorylation may reduce the interaction between the head and tail domains, thus restoring its activity (23). Our collaborative work focuses on the characterization of the head tail interaction of myosin XIK. For this purpose the Israeli group built yeast expression vectors encoding the myosin XIK head. In addition, GST fusions of the wild-type tail as well as a tail mutated in the amino acids that mediate head to tail interaction. These were sent to the US group who is working on the isolation of recombinant proteins and performing the in vitro assays. While stress signals involve changes in Ca2+ levels in plants cells, the cytoplasmic streaming is sensitive to Ca2+. Therefore plant myosin activity is possibly regulated by stress. This finding is directly related to the goal of the original proposal.
