Throughout the past few decades, rehabilitation of seals has become an activity that is anchored in the present day society of many countries. Seals are primarily rehabilitated to help individual animals in distress. At the same time, the release of seals which would have otherwise died can be considered as a contribution to the population. Most rehabilitated seals are animals under one year of age. They are mainly orphans, weaned seals with complications and seals with a parasiticbronchopneumonia. The operating experience of mechanical seals shows that as a result of angular deformations of the rings, the wear of the contact surfaces along the radius is uneven. When designing mechanical seals, it is necessary to calculate the amount of expected leakage through the seal, friction power consumption, as well as the possible durability of the unit. These calculated dependencies and estimates are obtained based on the constructed mechanical seal model. In the area of hydrodynamic load support in the case of a confusor joint or a converging film, the slope of the pressure diagram is such that

Waxes as a component of seals, are recognized in our history as adhesives, for surface coating purposes, modeling or casting materials and also in conservation practice. The waxes with mineral, vegetable and animal origin should be connected to modern methods of analysis, due to their complex composition: long chain hydrocarbons, acids, alcohols, esters. They support many mechanical damages in library and archive collections: cracking, pieces lost by an excessive handling of documents. The rotary seal is a key component of the aero engine. Under actual working conditions, most rotary seals always operate in an eccentric state (caused by installation errors), and when a large eccentricity occurs, it may lead to a large amount of gas leakage, resulting in a decrease in aero engine efficiency, which ultimately affects the reliability and life of the aero engine. Therefore, the effect of installation error on the rotary seal of the aero engine was studied in this research. Central to the model’s hypothesis is the assumption of the predominant action of the surface micro-geometry in the formation of the lubricant film. During development testing of the High Pressure Oxygen Turbopump (HPOTP) of the Space Shuttle Main Engine (SSME) to produce 109 percent of the rated thrust level, subsynchronous rotor whirl was encountered. This whirl was attributed to bearing wear reducing the radial bearing stiffness that caused the rotor second bending mode critical speed to enter the operating speed range. To eliminate this whirl, the pump end bearing loads were reduced to increase bearing life and damping added between the rotor and housing. This was achieved by converting impeller annular seals into “damping” seals that
