The paper reviewed the useful details of the Soboyejo Isopleths and the Nigerian Meteorological Agency wind Documentation map produced for Nigeria. Discrepancies were observed in the interpretations given to the data produced by the Agency. The researchers used a mathematical relationship between, the Soboyejo’s and the Nigerian Meteorological Agency data to produce results which correspond to 100 year mean recurrent interval. Abstract. This paper deals with the characteristics of turbulent flow over two agricultural plots with various tillage treatments in a fallow, semiarid area (Central Aragon, Spain). The main dynamic characteristics of the Atmospheric Surface Layer (ASL) measured over the experimental site (friction velocity, roughness length, etc.), and energy budget, have been presented previously (Frangi and Richard, 2000). The current study is based on experimental measurements performed with cup anemometers located in the vicinity of the ground at 5 different levels (from 0.25 to 4 m) and sampled at 1 Hz.

However, accurate and efficient assessment of the wind field inside the ETC is currently not available. Abstract Blade leading edge erosion (LEE) is a major cost driver in the wind energy sector. LEE is caused by the environmental conditions under which the blades operate. The impact energy of the airborne particles striking the leading edge determines the speed of erosion, thus LEE severity grows towards the blade tip and with a turbine’s tip speed. Currently there is no established method for assessing the aerodynamic impact of LEE, either numerically or experimentally caused by a lack of erosion topological data and its stochastic nature. Abstract Wind turbine blades face extremely challenging environmental conditions over their operating life-time, that can easily exceed 2 decades. Airborne particles (insects, sand, rain, hail, ice, sea spray etc.) strike the blade leading edge (LE) first and erode or attach to it, roughening its surface. Leading edge roughness (LER) can critically alter the aerodynamic performance of blades, as its aerodynamic impact is strongly coupled to its height with respect to the local boundary layer thickness, which is thinnest around the LE.
