Abstract:
This article examines video surveillance images in Hollywood film. It moves beyond previous accounts of video surveillance in relation to film by theoretically situating the use of these surveillance images in a broader “surveillant assemblage”. To this end, scenes from a sample of thirty-five (35) films of several genres are examined to discern dominant discourses and how they lend themselves to normalization of video surveillance. Four discourses are discovered and elaborated by providing examples from Hollywood films. While the films provide video surveillance with a positive associative as

A growing discourse in surveillance studies is leading the field away from socially neutral theories and introducing methodologies that account for factors such as gender, race, ethnicity, class, and sexual orientation. However, scholarship on surveillance in the arts, among which voyeurism and panopticism remain dominant, has been slower to adopt models that address these sociological dimensions of surveillance. This interdisciplinary article argues for expanding the theoretical and sociological scope of scholarship on surveillance in the arts, using Stieg Larsson’s Millennium novels and the

Abstract:
Surveillance is very important in managing a steamflood project. On the current surveillance plan, Temperature and steam ID logs are acquired on observation wells at least every year while CO log (oil saturation log or SO log) every 3 years. Based on those surveillance logs, a dynamic full field reservoir model is updated quarterly. Typically, a high depletion rate happens in a new steamflood area as a function of drainage activities and steamflood injection. Due to different acquisition time, there is a possibility of misalignment or information gaps between remaining oil maps (ie: net pay, a

Abstract:
The past decade has been marked by a growing awareness of the potential harms of personal computing. This recent development was spurred by a surge of news reports, films, and studies on the unforeseen side effects of constantly using networked devices. As a result, the public has become increasingly aware of the cognitive, ideological, and psychological effects associated with the constant use of personal computing devices. Alongside these revelations, a growing chorus of activists, journalists, organizers, and scholars have turned attention to surveillance technology-related matters of a dif

Abstract:
The FSA is continuing to commission projects to improve our understanding of the role the food chain plays in the development and spread of AMR bacteria. Our AMR surveillance programme has been established for several years, with a particular focus on retail meats. From 2015 to 2020, FSA had been participating in the EU-harmonised survey on AMR E. coli in retail meats. This survey has generated AMR prevalence data, over several years, in beef, pork and chicken meat collected at retail in the UK. The survey confirmed that chicken, and to a lesser extent, beef and pork can be contaminated with A

The primary aim of this study is to addresses this specific question. In addition, this study also establishes techniques to conduct cost-benefit analyses on deliverability enhancement treatments, quantitatively determine the impact of operational changes on deliverability, and conduct comprehensive damage surveillance less expensively and therefore more frequently. The zip file contains the final report, the associated data that the analysis was performed on, and spreadsheets to analyze/graph the results.

Abstract:
This study was designed to get a broad estimate of the presence and the types of antimicrobial resistance genes across 52 simple ready-to-eat foods. It was also carried out to understand the benefits and drawbacks of using metagenomic sequencing, a fairly new technology, to study AMR genes. An antimicrobial is any substance that kills or inhibits the growth of microorganisms. It includes antibiotics which are used to treat bacterial infections in both humans and animals. Given the relevant selective pressures, the bacteria itself can change and find ways to survive the effects of an antimicrobi
