The paper explores a mathematical model of the filtration of dual-component suspension within a porous medium characterized by two distinct zones. This model encompasses mass balance equations of suspended particles, kinetic equations of deposition formation for both reversible and irreversible deposition types for each suspension component, and incorporates Darcy’s law. In order to solve the problem, we formulate a numerical algorithm for computer-based experimentation on the basis of the finite difference method. Stability analysis carried out in this paper reveals that there is a critical porosity of the porous medium. Abstract:
Abstract The paper reports numerical simulation results of a direct current (DC) suspension plasma spray with an axial injection system. In the numerical modelling, a two-way coupled Eulerian-Lagrangian approach was employed to simulate plasma flow and suspension behavior. As effects of two-way interaction, momentum transfer and energy transfer were chosen. The plasma spray was assumed to have a rotationally symmetric, two-dimensional shape around the injection axis of suspensions (the central axis), and therefore the axisymmetric two-dimensional approximation was adopted in the numerical mode

Abstract:
Buildings consume about 40% of the world’s energy consumption and of that, 65% is dedicated to cooling (or heating) systems. Central building cooling uses water as the main heat transfer medium. The nanoparticle fluid suspension exhibits thermal properties superior to water. The goal was to achieve the highest possible thermal properties with just the right amount of nanoparticles in a uniform and stable dispersion and suspension in water. This engineered nanofluid contains a uniform and stable suspension of graphene nanoparticles (GNP) in water. Using covalent functionalization, centrifugatio

Abstract:
Cationic polypeptide proteins found in the seeds of the tropical plant Moringa oleifera have coagulation efficiencies similar to aluminum and ferric sulfates without their recalcitrant nature. Although these proteins possess great potential to augment or replace traditional coagulants in water treatment, harvesting active protein from seeds is laborious and not cost-effective. Here, we describe an alternative method to express and secrete active M. oleifera coagulant protein (MO) in Bacillus subtilis. A plasmid library containing the MO gene and 173 different types of secretory signal peptides

Abstract:
Our previous work indicated that suspension-cultured plant cells show remarkable flexibility in altering cell wall structure in response either to growth on saline medium or in the presence of the cellulose synthesis inhibitor 2,-6-dichlorobenzonitrile (DCB). We have continued to analyze the structure of these modified cell walls to understand how the changes modify wall strength, porosity, and ability to expand. The major load-bearing network in the walls of DCB-adapted dicot cells that lack a substantial cellulose-xyloglucan network is comprised of Ca2+-bridged pectates; these cells also hav

In the face of content takedown and account suspensions on the biggest social media platforms, terrorist groups and their supporters have resorted to the use of file-sharing sites to ensure stable access to their propaganda. Amongst those to have employed this strategy are supporters of the so-called Islamic State (IS). Yet, while studies have repeatedly highlighted the key role that file-sharing platforms play in the dissemination of IS propaganda, there has been little investigation of the strategic considerations that may influence the choice of file-sharing sites from the many available. As of April 19, 2021, South Africa has recorded 1.56 million COVID-19 cases and almost 54,000 deaths - more than any other country on the African continent. The country has begun the national rollout of the Johnson & Johnson (J&J) COVID-19 vaccine, with over 292 thousand doses administered it aims to achieve herd immunity by vaccinating at least 67 percent of its population (around 40 million people) by the end of 2021. The government suspended its initial rollout of the AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccine due to concerns over its effectiveness, particularly against the new B.1.351 variant, which
