Abstract:
The construction of golf course is restricted by the natural environment, the illegal construction of golf course will also have a certain degree of environmental crisis. Golf has a strong dependence on the land resources, water resources, ecological environment, blind expansion of the golf course, the lack of effective supervision and management situations, will bring the problems of environment and resources. The rapid development of golf in China, on the one hand, has certain positive role on improve the city's investment environment, expand foreign exchanges, activate regional economy. on the other hand, produce many problems, such as the excessive consumption of water resources and a large number of land resources, the destruction of the ecological environment. Sustainable development of golf is inseparable from the protection of the environment, we must establish the concept of ecological civilization, protect the natural environment. The sustainable development of golf will be achieved by establishing and improving environmental protection system, increasing the awareness of managers on protecting environment, building an eco-golf course.

Abstract:
The environment plays a vibrant role in sustaining human life such that without a suitable environment, humans will find it difficult to survive. The 1992 Constitution of the Republic of Ghana mandates an excellent and healthy environment for all. Hence, it’s a human right that must be upheld and needs a collective effort to sustain it. Thus, the state, government, and stakeholders must protect and manage the environment to implement sustainable development. The Ghanaian environment can support Ghanaians in line with implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). SDGs have since 2015 become the regulating framework driving global development discussions. This paper examines the nexus between environmental law enforcement and implementing SDGs in Ghana. The researchers adopted a complete interpretative document analysis for this study, which showed the careful but rigorous investigation of environmental law enforcement and SDGs. This technique confirmed the genuineness of the information studied and interpreted in the study. The study found that environmental law enforcement and the implementation of SDGs in Ghana are directly linked. Thus, the regulation aligns with the goals of 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, and 15 of the SDGs directly associated with environmental sustainability. Also, environmental law enforcement in Ghana through the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) concerning Environmental Protection and Management is protective and suppressive. This study further unravels that a supervisory outline is mandatory to enable sustainable development within Ghana’s environmental protection and law enforcement issues and to guarantee its alignment with SDGs. This should be established based on the participation of stakeholders. As a result, the researchers recommend that the government establish strong management and accountability in sustainable development by measuring, supervising, revising, and evaluating their growth towards meeting SDGs in environmental issues geared towards achieving SDG targets and frequently communicating their development to the public.

Abstract:
The policy of each state is aimed at preserving the life and health of people. Longevity of people depends on environmental and legal protection guaranteed and respected by the adopted normative legal acts of states, as well as interstate agreements. Sustainable development is based on three areas: environmental, economic, and social. In the case of accidents (industrial injuries, environmental emergencies, and etc.), non-observance and violation of the rights of people and employees of enterprises in the environmental sphere of activity is observed. Therefore, it became necessary to solve the problem in the direction of social and economic responsibility. The article authors have developed exceptional offers for implementation and maintenance of these areas, both in environmental law and in labor law (social protection). By applying and following these offers, we will try to preserve and protect the ecology of the world countries, thereby implementing social and labor protection of people.

This paper is based on the lecture delivered at the First South East European Congress of Chemical Engineering (SEECCHE1) held on September 25-28, 2005 in Beograd, Serbia. Time constraints did not permit me to publish it in the proceedings of the conference, and since the topic considered is very much pertinent to the current developments in our profession, it seems appropriate to present it in this special issue of the same journal that carried the papers from that conference. In addition, the paper represents a small tribute to my brother Aleksandar for his dedicated work in emphasizing the importance of fundamentals in chemical engineering education. In this paper an attempt is made to illustrate to the younger generations of chemical and process engineers the importance of reaction engineering and its relevance to societal needs globally. The slides and comments of the talk given at SEECCRE1 are made available on a web site indicated at the end of the paper.

Abstract:
Nowadays tourism has become a very important element of modern life and culture and a significant factor of economical growth. In this article the problem of ecotourism in Poland is presented along with its perspectives of development and the conflicts which occur when it is practised on the large scale. This article presents areas mostly affected by the negative changes during the excessive practice of tourism e.g. seaside areas, high mountains, river banks, forests, caves, national parks, nature reserves. When one particular area becomes a national or scenic park, nature reserve or Natura 200 Area, it immediately attracts increased tourist traffic. All the forms of environmental protection are the most valuable locations to practice ecotourism. The least conflictual form of tourism is ecotourism = sustainable tourism. Key words: forms of environmental protection, ecological education, ecotourism, sustainable tourism.

Abstract:
The most vital problems of humanity mentioned in SDGs are the consequences of climate change and biodiversity loss and problems with access to water and forest resources. Although there is a deep understanding of the problems, there are reasons that do not allow finding swift solutions, and the increasing funding gap for the relevant SDGs is one of them. This study aims to establish the connection between environmental protection investments and the achievement of environmentally oriented sustainable development goals across 31 European countries (26 EU Member States, 3 EFTA Countries, and Ukraine as a Candidate to EU). The paper employed the PLS-SEM approach. The obtained results proved that the accumulated amount of environmental protection investments does not have a statistically significant relationship with the integral indicators of SDG 6 “Clear water and sanitation,” SDG 13 “Climate action,” and SDG 15 “Life on land” (the coefficient of determination, the path coefficient, and the reliability coefficients were insignificant). The study of a similar relationship between the level and the directions of SDGs 6, 13, and 15 achievements also did not reveal any significant results. As the last step of the analysis, the hypothesis about a relationship between environmental protection investments and Environmental Performance Index components was also rejected. Therefore, the statistical significance and relevance of the analyzed indicators were not confirmed. Based on this, a conclusion was made about the insufficiency of investment resources for environmental protection to overcome the gap in achieving environmentally-oriented SDGs.

Abstract:
Sustainable Development became from the start one of the most essential elements of global policy. The interest in the future of our planet modified people's mentality concerning economic development. A number of changes were developed over the years in direct connection with environmental stability. The linear economy turned into a circular one, preservation of carbon resources, “green processes” in industry and agriculture, as well as pollution elimination from air, land, and water represent ways to safer society progress. New tools were created for sustainable development. Among these, the Sustainable Development Goals are of great importance as they clarify of the targets to be fulfilled. These targets are obviously in close relation to the measures for environmental protection. The paper presents the 17 Sustainable Development Goals with their targets as well as the connection of these to the safety of the environment. The role of education and information in the field and the need for global cooperation are underlined.

Rapid economic growth and irrational use of natural resources in the last decades of the XX century have influenced the changes in the environmental sphere and to specific environmental problems. These processes in the global economy and society, caused a disturbance of the environment by increasing pollution of the environment.Emerging problems of the entire human society can be solved by applying the concept of sustainable growth and development and raising awareness about the necessity of implementation of basic environmental standards in business. In order to reduce the harmful effects of production processes on the environment and to help meet the objective of sustainable development outlined at the UN Conference on Environment and Development in Rio De Janeiro in 1992 the ISO 14000 Standards were created. The essence of sustainable development is responsible development that meets the current needs a way to rationally use natural resources to ensure meeting the needs of future generations and environment protection.

In recent decades, increasing attention has been paid to the sustainability of products and processes, including activities aimed at environmental protection, site reclamation or treatment of contaminated effluents, as well as the valorization of waste through the recovery of resources. Although implemented with ‘noble intentions’, these processes are often highly invasive, unsustainable and socially unacceptable, as they involve significant use of chemical products or energy. This Special Issue is aimed at collecting research activities focused on the development of new processes to replace the above-cited obsolete practices. Taking inspiration from real problems and the need to face real cases of contamination or prevent potentially harmful situations, the development and optimization of ‘smart’ solutions, i.e., sustainable not only from an environmental point of view but also economically, are discussed in order to encourage as much as possible their actual implementation.

Challenges to Sustainable Development in Island Tourism Every participant in the life of a local community, hence the local community of the island of Krk as well, must develop an awareness of how they can cooperate in the improvement of quality, environmental protection and safety. This awareness can be achieved through constant education, and the improvement and perfection of all the destination factors for the island of Krk. With the preventive measures of environmental protection and optimal resources usage in the construction projects and management of the island of Krk, as well as waste management practices (the system known as "The Eco Island of Krk"), the island of Krk has to become an example, aware of its responsibility for future generations and the need for sustainable development. Open communication and partner relations with the social community and all interested parties, primarily those related to environmental protection and tourist and visitor safety, must be main factors in the future sustainable development of the island. The adoption of an environmental management system as one of the strategic baselines of the sustainable development of the island provides it with a comparative advantage on the tourism market, thus defining it as an "eco island" with the fulfillment of all legal and other obligations, and satisfying the demands of tourists, the local community and the public, all with the goal of more successful environmental protection.

Environmental pollution has produced adverse impacts on sustainable development in China, and the inappropriate tax legal regime may be one of the important causes. There are only three separate laws concerning three types of taxes, and most of the other taxes are collected by regulations or rules. China has not adopted particular tax laws concerning environmental protection by December 25th, 2016, and has not enforced any special environmental tax law, and polluters are primarily charged for their pollution activities as a way of assuming their legal liabilities, which has significant shortcomings. Under the situations of addressing climate change and constraining and curing environmental pollution for sustainable development, a comprehensive system of green tax laws shall be established and perfected by making and enforcing Environmental Protection Tax Law and improving the existing tax laws involved in environmental protection.

Abstract:
At Present our Planet is grappling with disastrous consequences of man-made environmental problems such as industrialization, urbanization, over-exploitation of natural resources, disruption of natural ecological balances, destruction of a multitude of animal and plant species for economic reasons, etc. It is observed that most of our environmental problems are manifestations of our developmental activities. Although there is no dearth of legislations on environmental protection in India, it is clearly evident that the enforcement of these legislations has been far from satisfactory. The present study tries to establish education as a useful tool for environmental conservation and sustainable development, ensuring clean air to breathe, safe drinking water and adequate supplies of clean renewable energy. This paper is mostly based on secondary data from books, research articles, periodicals and websites. It discusses the role of teacher and school in the protection of environment and promotion of sustainable development by bringing awareness on the efficient and responsible usage of the natural resources namely air, water, land, soil, forests, rivers, oceans etc. It tries to expound the ways and means to sensitize students and make them environment conscious in order to build a vibrant, healthy and pollution free India as future citizens.

Abstract:
AbstractSustainable development (or sustainability) is a decision-making framework for maintaining and achieving human well-being, both in the present and into the future. The framework requires both consideration and the achievement of environmental protection, social justice and economic development. In that framework, environmental protection must be integrated into decisions about social and economic development, and social justice and economic viability must be integrated into decisions about environmental quality. As sustainable development has grown in prominence, its critics have become more numerous and more vocal. Three major lines of criticism are that the term is ‘too boring’ to command public attention, ‘too vague’ to provide guidance, and ‘too late’ to address the world’s problems. Critics suggest goals such as abundance, environmental integrity, and resilience. Beginning with the international agreements that have shaped the concept of sustainable development, this article provides a functional and historical analysis of the meaning of sustainable development. It then analyzes and responds to each of the above criticisms. It argues that the critics, understood constructively, suggest ways of strengthening this framework, but do not provide a compelling alternative. The challenge for lawyers, lawmakers, and others is to use and improve the sustainability framework to make better decisions.

Subject. The article focuses on the need to coordinate efforts stimulating the economic growth and environmental protection so as to drive the economic development without any losses and difficulties. Objectives. In the study, we examine the mechanism for the mutual impact of the economic growth in industries and the environmental protections so as to build the empirical basis for the reasonable natural protection policy. Methods. Theoretical projects are based on the analysis of economic literature and empirical studies on resources, environment and sustainable economic development in the existing theories of economic growth. Results. We substantiate and corroborate the assumption that the gist of green development implies the sustainable economic and social development driven by a concerted and sustainable economic and environmental growth. The understanding of natural environment should be totally revised so as to convey that the natural environment is not a resource that can be consumed eternally, but does have its own limits. Conclusions and Relevance. In the future, Russia’s economy should rely upon the sustainable development model, where the green constituent will dictate a new strategy underlying the national economic growth and advancement.

Abstract:
Law on Environmental Protection 2014 of Vietnam was passed by the 13 National Assembly at the 7th session on June 23, 2014, effectived from January 1, 2015. The enactment of the Law on Environmental Protection 2014 has greatly contributed to the success of environmental protection in recent years. However, the implementation of the Law on Environmental Protection 2014 revealed limitations and shortcomings, including: Some provisions of the law on environmental protection are still inappropriate, not reality, lack of legal provisons for Environmental disasters, not keeping up with the requirements of practical development and international integration; mechanisms and policies on environmental protection are slow to innovate, not yet synchronized with the market economy institution; contents, responsibilities, assignment and decentralization of state management of environmental protection are still fragmented, overlapping and unreasonable, not suitable with capacity building and responsibilities; lack of appropriate mechanisms to promote the effective participation of society, enterprises and people in environmental protection. Based on Law on Environmental Protection 2014, the state management apparatus on environment is not commensurate with the assigned functions and tasks and unable to solve effectively inter-sectoral, inter-regional and transnational issues; violations of the law on environmental protection are still complicated and invalid; The administrative procedures are both insufficient, overlapping; Vietnam has not legal provisions to resolve some new issues arising on environmental protection such as: climate changes, metal pollution heavy (Cu, Zn, Cd), saline intrusion, dust pollution…This article focuses on the challenges of environment in Vietnam. It also provides causes and suggestion for Law on Environmental Protection 2014 to be revised for sustainable development in Vietnam.

Abstract:
The BRICS countries are also known as the BRICS, which are composed of five economies: China, Russia, India, Brazil, and South Africa. Of course, environmental issues are also included, because with the economic development of the five countries, the price paid is the environment. In response to this problem, in order to adapt the environmental problems arising in their own development to economic development, the BRICS countries have formulated corresponding laws and regulations to respond to existing or possible environmental problems. The most important purpose of this series of environmental protection laws is to achieve relatively stable and sustainable development in the five countries. This requires these environmental protection laws to have a sustainable impact on the environmental development of the BRICS countries. In order to conduct research on the impact of sustainable environmental laws that have been enacted, this article will use the analysis method of analyzing the relationship between the environmental protection regulations and economic development of the BRICS countries, as well as the relationship between the environmental protection laws and environmental sustainability development of the BRICS countries, and the impact of environmental sustainability based on empirical analysis. It assesses the impact on the sustainability of the environment of the BRICS countries under the auspices of environmental laws. Through the empirical analysis experiment of economic and environmental protection effects, the results obtained show that the comprehensive scores of environmental protection in the BRICS countries in 2018–2020 have been improved except Russia’s score. Among them, the improvement of China’s score is the most obvious, and the improvement of the ranking has reached 24. The results of this assessment show that, with the support of the corresponding environmental laws, sustainable impacts have been produced in the environment of the BRICS countries.

Abstract:
In order to develop tourism, it is impossible not to be attached to the environment, including the social-cultural and natural environment. Although identified as an important economic sector, making a great contribution to the economy, the high-speed development of the tourism industry is also creating great pressure on the environment, especially on the country’s tourist destinations. If the cultural environment guarantees civilized tourism, then the natural environment is the basis for the sustainable development of tourism. Therefore, environmental protection is being posed as a vital issue in tourism today. If you do not immediately take measures to minimize plastic waste and preserve the landscape and environment, it is likely that tourists will turn their backs on Vietnamese destinations. The article mentions a few effective solutions to develop tourism in general and tourism in Vietnam in the most effective way.

Abstract:
Environmental protection is an important key to achieving sustainable development. Since humans depend on the environment in countless ways, preserving them contributes directly to the sustaining of people and human societies and hence, to social sustainability. The central question in this dissertation asks why the environmental protection policies enacted in Madagascar are not efficient and how they impact the SDG’s achievement at the national level. This paper discusses Madagascar’s achievements of the sustainable development target with special emphasis on environmental issues, which is currently a major concern in the country. This review aimed at suggesting improvements in line with the challenges the country is facing by reviewing the indicators provided by the UN SDGs. It also reaffirmed the nexus of poverty and the environment, which is important for setting the development target. In order to conduct this study, journal articles, review papers, working papers, research reports, and books related to environmental management and sustainable development in Madagascar were reviewed. Madagascar has made a little improvement in accomplishing SDGs 12 and 13 in 2021, but achieving all SDGs goals in 2030 remains a big challenge. The country is a party to numerous international environmental conventions, treaties, and agreements. Many policy changes have been implemented to address both conservation and development issues, but these efforts have had little impact. Forest fires and slash-and-burn were on the rise in Madagascar on October 2022, which poses a major concern for the economic and social development of the island. In order to achieve sustainable development, environmental protection shall constitute an integral part of the development process and cannot be considered in isolation from it. The strategies proposed in this paper might be helpful for the Malagasy government and private sector in decision-making. This paper is also useful for researchers in developing countries. As Madagascar did not reach the Millennium Development Goals 2015 and will not achieve the SDGs in 2030, should we not start learning from our mistakes and thinking about the post-SDGs?

Rural environmental protection has received increasing attention in recent years. The economic development and population growth of rural areas results in many problems, such as environmental pollution, land degradation, resource depletion, biodiversity loss, income loss, and public health risks. Although much progress has been made, many major challenges to rural environmental management remain to be addressed. The question of how to deal with these problems through sustainable approaches has become an urgent issue in rural areas. This Special Issue, “Rural Sustainable Environmental Management”, was dedicated to the perception of rural, sustainable environmental management based on the integration of economic, environmental, and social considerations. The Special Issue covered the topics about the rural land management and planning, sustainable rural water resources management, integrated simulation and optimization, rural environmental risk assessment and vulnerability analysis, rural water and wastewater treatment, rural environmental policy analysis, rural ecosystem protection and biodiversity recovery, and the characterization of emerging rural environmental problems and related solutions. Abstract:
Environmental democracy is the political basis of the sustainable development of the environment. From the perspective of political science, the public needs to be involved both in the process of the making of environmental policies and in avoiding government failures in environmental protection. From the perspective of economics, sustainable development of the environment requires a democratic production mode and in avoiding “the tragedy of public land” the public needs to be involved. From the legal perspective, solving environmental hazard incidents involves environmental hazard litigation. From the perspective of the international political science, in order to build a society in which the individual rights of us and our responsibilities to the neighborhood, the community and the earth are deemed to be intrinsically connected, we need to democratize the decision-making process of the social policies.

Abstract:
Recognising that implementing an agricultural enterprise impacts the state of the environment, its ecological stability, and the self- regulatory capabilities of ecosystems, the aim of this paper is to acquaint the professional and lay public about the attitudes of Slovakian agricultural enterprises towards environmental protection and sustainable development. The paper draws attention to present methods, techniques, and tools that enterprise management are applying for the purpose of meeting and overcoming environmental challenges. The data for this research were obtained from controlled interviews and a questionnaire survey conducted across more than 90 agricultural enterprises. Based on the data outcomes, research premises and formulated research hypotheses put forward are verified by using Friedman, Wilcoxon, Kruskal–Wallis, and Pearson chi-square tests. Discussion of the findings points out that although Slovakia is not yet one of the most polluting countries, promoting the application of environmental protection approaches for sustainable development is of the essence. The most important agriculturally related step, mitigating environmental degradation, is to promote changes in the moral values of agricultural enterprises and the society through enhanced environmental awareness and application practices.

Abstract:
Modern society is characterized by dramatic climate changes and environment changes. There is an intensive use of natural resources and an increase in environmental pollution. The legal framework and its continuous development are essential for the protection of the environment and its sustainable development. The legal framework is a tool for identification and prevention of natural pollution sources, the prevention of environmental threats to the health of the population and the improvement of the quality of life of people in general. The volume of environmental legislation has increased significantly in recent years, but shortcomings in its implementation and enforcement are not sufficient to address environmental issues. The world community has relatively little knowledge of the potential for improving the legal regulation to strengthen environmental security by addressing global environmental risks.

Abstract:
Recent years have witnessed growing concern over the ever more increasing urgent and pervasive global environmental problems. Environmental problems and challenges in relation to armed conflict are amongst them. Such environmental pressures can cause violent or armed conflict which in turn can cause devastating damage and destruction to the environment. This article explores the possibility of utilising the overarching concept of sustainable development and its relevant substantive principles to fill the gaps of environmental protection provided by international humanitarian law. The concept of sustainable development generally refers to development or the process of improving the quality of life of the present generation without compromising the future generations. This article thus reviews the limits of the protection of the environment during armed conflict within the current legal framework and suggests setting out a new, more comprehensive set of Environmental Rules based on the ‘Berlin Rules’ approach. It is argued that these proposed Rules, by comprehensively and clearly prescribing rights and duties in respect of the ecological impact of armed conflict including the integration of the concept of sustainable development, could not only mitigate the impact of conflict-related environmental damage on both the environment and the human population, it could further contribute to the development of international law and conflict-related environmental protection specifically.

Abstract:
Waste, environmental protection and community sustainability are products of development, and most daily activities of human beings generate waste. The negative consequences of economic development have long been observed by eminent economic theorists, such as Smith, Marx, Malthus, Ricardo and Mill (Clarin, 2018). There are some indicators that show that most countries have failed to achieve sustainable development, and some countries are far from it. There has also been a growing concern about the environmental limit to growth and development as well as the imperative of environmental quality and management. As a result, this paper firstly conceptualized the following terms-“Waste”,“Waste Management”,“Environment”, “Environmental Sustainability”, Community, Community Sustainability, and Sustainable Development. The paper further discussed the composition of waste materials in Nigeria. It again examined various international and national measures or activities taken in relation to the concept of community sustainable development. The scholars in addition discussed the rationale for environmental protection and the negative impacts of waste on Nigerian environment. Furthermore, several measures taken internationally and nationally to ameliorate the negative impacts of wastes on environment were concisely discussed.
