Abstract:
Sustainable DevOps methods drive results in banking, given data centers account for most energy usage and environmental damage. Our study demonstrates how sustainability practices join with DevOps techniques to lower the ecological impact of banking data centers while achieving performance and security requirements. The paper illustrates how microservices and containerization technology help banking data centers work better with their resources by automatically scaling and lowering electricity consumption. The evaluation compares Jenkins and Ansible with other automation tools to show how they simplify repetitive work and shut down systems when usage drops to save energy. The study proves why advanced monitoring tools are necessary to track real-time power usage so data center managers can redistribute or stop using servers when needed. The analysis shows how banks can use cloud solutions that depend on green energy and infrastructure architectures to build sustainability practices. Beyond new technology tools, this research pushes for cultural change by supporting business units that add environmental effect measures to their new product development process. This study examines how banking industries can use sustainable DevOps practices to reduce energy use and environmental damage while maintaining regulatory standards and stable operations. The study provides technical and action-based methods that allow DevOps processes to support ecological preservation for finance companies.

The human resources application developed in this research includes various important functions, including HR management, job grade promotion planning, employment contract termination notification, and promotion notification. This research also provides solutions to the problems experienced by the Palembang Region Office of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia in human resource management. By using the DevOps method as a method of designing human capital applications, it is expected to increase employee efficiency and productivity through integrated and effective human resource management. The DevOps approach also allows organizations to respond quickly to changing needs and provide sustainable added value to the organization.

Abstract:
The adoption of DevOps has significantly reshaped modern software engineering by tightly integrating development and operations activities to achieve faster, more reliable, and scalable software delivery. Despite widespread industry adoption, empirical research on the quantifiable impact of DevOps practices remains fragmented. This study aims to investigate how contemporary DevOps practices influence software quality, delivery speed, and team productivity in real-world environments. A mixed-method approach was employed, combining a multi-case study across four mid-to-large enterprises with a controlled simulation of key DevOps performance metrics. Data were collected from interviews, DevOps telemetry tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes), and automated system logs. The findings indicate that mature DevOps adoption is associated with a 45% increase in deployment frequency, a 38% reduction in lead time for changes, and a 32% decrease in change failure rates. Nonetheless, organizations face persistent challenges in integrating security (DevSecOps), managing technical debt, and fostering cultural alignment across siloed teams. The results confirm the strategic importance of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), continuous monitoring, and automated testing in optimizing DevOps outcomes. For practitioners, this study offers a practical roadmap for scalable and sustainable DevOps transformation. For researchers, it identifies critical gaps in socio-technical integration and intelligent automation that warrant further investigation. This research contributes to bridging empirical evidence and theoretical frameworks in the evolving field of DevOps in software engineering.

Traditional methods of invoice management, which are heavily reliant on manual labor, not only incur significant costs but also contribute to inefficiencies, delays, and resource wastage. This article presents an integrated framework that combines DevOps methodologies and machine learning (ML) to transform invoice processing into a scalable and sustainable operation. By leveraging system dynamics and automation, the proposed Proof of Concept (PoC) addresses interconnected challenges, such as reducing labor dependency, enhancing operational intelligence, and minimizing environmental impact. The PoC framework includes dynamic model training, testing, deployment, and monitoring, enabling adaptive and resilient solutions aligned with evolving business needs. Findings from a survey highlight the potential of these integrated approaches to streamline processes, reduce errors, and optimize resource utilization while also identifying barriers to widespread adoption. By combining ML’s predictive power with DevOps’ agility, the framework not only advances automation but also provides a path toward sustainable financial operations in an interconnected and data-driven economy.

The approach dynamically scales workloads based on both application demand and the environmental impact of power usage, enabling green DevOps practices. By integrating carbon intensity APIs with Azure Container Apps and KEDA, deployment decisions are optimized to align with periods of lower grid carbon emissions. This ensures that microservices scale efficiently without compromising sustainability goals. This systematic literature review investigates the role of BPA-DevOps integration in enhancing agile technical support systems, operational agility, and organizational scalability. Employing the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) 2020 guidelines, a total of 147 peer-reviewed scholarly articles published between 2014 and 2024 were meticulously selected from six prominent academic databases. The selected studies span a range of domains, including IT services, SaaS, healthcare, finance, and public sector applications, offering a comprehensive cross-sectoral perspective. The review identifies that the synergistic adoption of BPA and DevOps contributes to streamlined deployment pipelines, automated incident resolution, enhanced customer support responsiveness, and measurable performance improvements such as reduced change failure rates and faster lead times. Notably, mature automation environments were found to yield greater consistency, resilience, and scalability across organizational functions. However, the review also surfaces critical research gaps—particularly the lack of unified implementation frameworks, inconsistent performance measurement indicators, limited empirical assessments of long-term automation impacts, and insufficient evaluation of ethical and socio-cultural considerations. Furthermore, the study emphasizes the pivotal role of organizational culture, leadership engagement, role redefinition, and continuous skills development in ensuring successful BPA-DevOps adoption. Through thematic synthesis, the review advances the academic discourse by integrating technical, operational, and managerial dimensions, while also advocating for future research that prioritizes inclusivity, longitudinal evaluation, and domain-specific adaptability. "The article discusses aspects of the methodology for managing IT teams in the field of information and communication technologies. It systematized approaches to managing IT teams. It analyzed the features of applying the methodology for managing IT teams depending on the goals of the project. The differences in management methodology in the IT field were characterized and the features of the use of traditional, iterative, and process-oriented approaches were identified. A comparative analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of traditional, iterative, and process-oriented IT team management was carried out. The areas of application of each IT team management methodology were defined. The main aspects of the formation of approaches to the management of IT teams were studied, which are part of the methodology of Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, KanBan, Lean, and DevOps. A comparative analysis was made by functionality, application areas, advantages, and disadvantages of digital IT project management methodology. The advantages of digital IT project management methodologies, such as Waterfall, and Agile, include increased labor productivity, reduced IT product time-to-market, improved IT product quality and functionality, and increased customer satisfaction. The Industrial Revolution drives the digitization of society and industry, entailing Cyber-Physical Systems (CPSs) that form ecosystems where system owners and third parties share responsibilities within and across industry domains. Such ecosystems demand smart CPSs that continuously align their architecture and governance to the concerns of various stakeholders, including developers, operators, and users. In order to satisfy short- and long-term stakeholder concerns in a continuously evolving operational context, this work proposes self-adaptive software models that promote DevOps for smart CPS. Our architectural approach extends to the embedded system layer and utilizes embedded and interconnected Digital Twins to manage change effectively. Experiments conducted on industrial embedded control units demonstrate the approach’s effectiveness in achieving sub-millisecond real-time closed-loop control of CPS assets and the simultaneous high-fidelity twinning (i.e., monitoring) of asset states. In addition, the experiments show practical support for the adaptation and evolution of CPS through the dynamic reconfiguring and updating of real-time control services and communication links without downtime. The evaluation results conclude that, in particular, the embedded Digital Twins can enhance CPS smartness by providing service-oriented access to CPS data, monitoring, adaptation, and control capabilities. Furthermore, the embedded Digital Twins can facilitate the seamless integration of these capabilities into current and future industrial service ecosystems. At the same time, these capabilities contribute to implementing emerging industrial services such as remote asset monitoring, commissioning, and maintenance.

Sheet metal part manufacture is a precursor to various upstream assembly processes, including the manufacturing of mechanical and body parts of railcars, automobiles, ships, etc., in the transport manufacturing sector. The (re)manufacturing of railcars comprises a multi-tier manufacturing supply chain, mainly supported by local small and medium enterprises (SMEs), where siloed information leads to information disintegration between supplier and manufacturer. Technology spillovers in information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) are disrupting traditional supply chains, leading to a sustainable digital economy, driven by new innovations and business models in manufacturing. This paper presents application of industrial DevOps by merging industry 4.0 technologies for collaborative and sustainable supply chains. A blockchain-based information system (IS) and a cloud manufacturing (CM) process system were integrated, for a supply chain management (SCM) system for the railcar manufacturer. A systems thinking methodology was used to identify the multi-hierarchical system, and a domain-driven design approach (DDD) was applied to develop the event-driven microservice architecture (MSA). The result is a blockchain-based cloud manufacturing as a service (BCMaaS) SCM system for outsourcing part production for boxed sheet metal parts. In conclusion, the BCMaaS system performs part provenance, traceability, and analytics in real time for improved quality control, inventory management, and audit reliability.

The linear economic model behind contemporary product lifecycle representations contradicts planetary boundaries and the idea of sustainability. At the same time, Circular Economy (CE) driven models lack consideration of profound technological insights. Based on observations in research and the application of projects of different industries, a quantitative and qualitative literature analysis is applied to identify both strengths and shortcomings of current lifecycle models. These findings are used to create lifecycle model portfolios and to derive a generic Product Lifecycle model (gPLC). The gPLC is validated by three industrial cases based on collaborative research projects. In practice, resource and energy consumption as well as waste production and emissions can be minimized with the help of established methods not only by economists, but also by engineers. Transparency of material and information circularity practically implies the opportunity to implement, for instance, Minimum Viable Products and DevOps approaches. The originality of the gPLC is characterized by three main aspects: first, material and information flows of multi-disciplinary product–service systems are recognized as the foundation for a modern CE; second, a differentiation between product classes and instances is elaborated to stimulate sustainable design of material core products and digital CE business models; and third, the stakeholder perspective is expanded from manufacturer and consumer/user to further perspectives, such as recycler and society.

The proposed solution incorporates Carbon Footprint APIs, energy-efficient routing policies, and AI-powered optimization models to support carbon-aware decision-making in incident response, load balancing, and service scheduling. By leveraging tools available in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), such as Carbon Footprint reporting, Cloud Monitoring, and Vertex AI, this research demonstrates how AI-driven SRE workflows can balance reliability objectives with sustainability goals. In the context of the digital transformation of the oil and gas industry, the development of architectural solutions that can ensure the scalability, adaptability and stability of software to changes in the production environment and business processes is of particular importance. The purpose of the study is to substantiate architectural approaches to the creation of scalable, adaptive and technologically sustainable software solutions, taking into account their application in the oil and gas industry, including the tasks of logistics, field management, equipment monitoring and support of geographically distributed production systems. In the course of the study, a conceptual model of the multi-level architecture of a digital platform for the oil and gas industry was developed, based on the principles of microservice, event processing and container orchestration, which allows to ensure the modularity, flexibility and stability of software solutions in conditions of high load and territorial distribution. The model includes four functional levels: infrastructure, application, integration and user, each of which performs specialized tasks and supports interaction with industrial IT infrastructure. Based on the theoretical analysis of architectural styles and key components (Kubernetes, Istio, Apache Kafka, Prometheus, GraphQL), it is established that the hybrid architectural approach, which combines the advantages of microservice and event-based solutions, most fully meets the modern requirements of the industry. It provides fault tolerance due to component isolation, scalability due to dynamic resource management, compatibility with industrial IoT protocols, as well as support for CI/CD and DevOps practices, which are critical for quick adaptation to changes in the technological environment and minimizing downtime and production flows. The results showed that the combined use of microservices and event interactions provides high flexibility and stability when operating under conditions of geographical distribution and high load variability. The data obtained confirmed the applicability of the proposed architectural model for the design of reliable digital platforms in the oil and gas sector.

Utilizing the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) framework, the review analyzes 42 peer-reviewed articles, industry reports, and survey-based research studies published between 2015 and 2022. The findings reveal consistent evidence that AWS certifications contribute significantly to enhanced career trajectories. Professionals with certifications report increased job mobility, expanded leadership opportunities, and a stronger alignment with strategic IT management roles. Organizations also recognize certified employees as assets for cloud transformation, security, and cost optimization projects. The results allow to conclude that Estonia and Latvia have not reached the turning point in sustainable development when larger GDP is produced with using fewer amounts of natural resources and generating less waste (falling Footprint). Both countries have similar sustainable development trends, excluding temp of increase in the number of population.

Companies such as EPAM, Accenture, Intellias, SoftServe, GlobalLogic, Endava, and Globant are highlighted for their pivotal roles in providing specialized services that enable businesses to leverage advanced technologies, foster digital transformation in different industries and development of new smart economy. To better understand the impact of IT-service companies on modern economy it was conducted a detailed comparative analysis between traditional consulting firms (the Big 4 and Big 3) and modern IT service companies. Settlements close to rivers, the sea, and hills are among those most vulnerable to floods. The hilly terrain region experiences higher rainfall than the lowlands due to the orographic effect. As a result, excessive rains feeding major rivers cause a rapid rise in water level resulting in frequent breaks of the riverbanks. The flood hence covers the inhabited lowlands with water and silt, causing loss of lives and properties. The affected communities need practical coping alternatives to deal with the intensity and the increasing exposure to floods. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG6) identify the sustainable management of water and sanitation as one of their key objectives. This study identifies resilience in practice focusing on how communities create resilience and develop sustainable river catchment management. A qualitative method was used, involving observations, interviews, and community surveys with one of the most flood-prone populations, the New Zealand Northland community. A desktop study containing government publications and flood records compliments the thematic analysis result and strengthens the discussions. Social connections, participation in self-protection training, and maintaining the catchment were among the main findings of the study. This study recommends for community-led response plans integrated with infrastructure improvements and collaboration with councils to reduce the risk of future floods.

The concept of sustainable development is one of the few ideas that require the integration of all areas of human life on earth in order to maintain further development without major disruptions. One such area is maritime transport, including maritime container ports. Their unique feature is the ability to combine equivalent types of transport within the framework of a cargo-handling system with related information. In order to ensure a sustainable shipping flow through ports, it is necessary to integrate management knowledge with IT knowledge, so as to build a reference model of sustainable management of transshipment in maritime container ports. The literature has neglected this problem, thus motivating our contribution to this matter. As a result of the research work undertaken, a sustainable transshipment management system is first defined as a whole unit which develops its subsystems in a harmonious way without compromising them in the process. Then, the form of the reference model is given in detail. Therefore, we suggest that the system and its constituent elements constitute a method for sustainably managing the transshipment process.

The authors integrate the natural-resource-based view of the firm with research on middle management championing behaviors and issue-contingent models of ethical decision making to propose a model of sustainability championing for social intrapreneurs. To that end, propositions are developed concerning the relationship between the types of sustainable practice championed, how the argument for a given practice is framed, and successful championing outcomes. This paper contributes to a growing body of literature on social intrapreneurship, providing insight into how intrapreneurial championing can be more effective and building a foundation for future research.

Yet progress in translating policy commitment into tangible measures has been slow. It builds upon and further develops a life-cycle oriented product policy, and also addresses the consumption dimension. This article looks at implementation and application of the Action Plan. This is presenting a number of challenges: setting up and implementing a coherent legal framework, providing the requisite tools and steering voluntary processes. It concludes by looking to the future and the challenges for EU policies.

This paper develops and discusses an open-economy growth model in a modi!ed Arrow learning-by-doing framework, in which workers learn through experience on the job, thereby increasing their productivity. Applying optimal control to maximize the discounted stream of intertemporal consumption, the model yields domestic saving rates of 18-22 percent of GDP, which are feasible targets in developing and emerging market economies. Sustainable gross foreign debt is in the range of 39-50 percent of GDP. Saving, debt, and growth policies are suggested.

Scholars have investigated the direct linkage between manager’s age and sustainable corporate performance, however, the mixed results and conflicting findings on the nature of the relationship demand further explanation through the missing constructs. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to examine the mediating role of sustainable entrepreneurial orientation in the manager’s age and sustainable performance. This study develops a conceptual link by using a dynamic capabilities approach and upper echelon perspective, indicating that younger managers can adopt a more holistic approach towards sustainable practices which can enhance the environmental, social and economic performance of firms. This implies that the relationship between manager’s age and sustainable performance can be explained through sustainable entrepreneurial orientation (SEO) which can play a key role in setting organizational direction towards sustainable development and achieving sustainable business performance. This study contributes to the literature by examining the role of SEO in the relationship between the manager’s age and sustainable performance. This research will help practitioners recognize the importance of minimizing environmental and social problems generating due to organizational production activities.
