Culture is one of elements that affect a person's proficiency of foreign languages. Sundanese phonological structure is different from Arabic. This article starts from the case of cooking oil hoarding that has occurred in Indonesia recently. One of the verses of the Qur’an that relates to this problem is the second verse of sura al-Humazah in the pronunciation of jama’a malān wa ‘addadah. Natural asphalt (or bitumen) deposits, oil seepage and liquid oil shows are widespread in the Middle East, especially in the Zagros mountains of Iran.
