Full textNowadays the psychological being of pupils ‘is a very topical issue in trying to raise a healthy community. One of the main factors indicating the psychological health of the individual is the health control locus and self-esteem, showing how a person conceives his health and himself, his abilities, properties, and his status among other people. A teenager‘s psychical and physical health relies strongly on this, as well as learning advance and relationship to other people. The aim of the present work has been to analyze the 5 – 12 class children self-esteem and health control locus singularity in connection with learning advance. In the research, however, the aim has been to analyze 5 – 12 class children‘s indicators of health control locus and self-esteem according to the age (11-18 years old) and sex, quest 5 – 12 class children health control locus and self-esteem in connection with absences from school due to some illness and with learning advance. There were data collected from 240 schoolchildren 5 – 12 class (11-18 years old) in Lithuanian comprehensive schools. In the research there were used Multidimensional health locus of control scale (MHLC) (Wallston K., 1978) and Rosenberg’s self-esteem scale (RSV) (Rosenberg M., 1965). Full textThe aim of the study was to find and compare the links between health locus of control, illness perception and anger in hemodialysis and pre – hemodialysis groups . The study included 74 hemodialysis patients and 53 pre – hemodialysis patients. There were 58,3,% of hemodialysis patients and 41,7% of pre – hemodialysis patients. Age of patients was between 21 and 86, average age - 57,03 years old.The study was carried out in Lithuanian University of Health Sciences nephrology clinic, Šiauliai hemodialysis center UAB “B. Braun Avitum” and Šiauliai hospital nephrology clinic. It was used a quantitative survey – a questionnaire. It consisted of: Multidimensional Health Locus of Control Scale ( MHLC), Illness Perception Questionnaire ( IPQ – R), Clinical Anger Scale ( CAS) and there have been given 5 additional questions unrelated to these questionnaires. The results of search showed links between health locus of control, illness perception and anger. Health locus of control links with illness perception and anger in hemodialysis and pre – hemodialysis groups depended on sex, age, education, family status. Full textPurpose: The purpose of the presented study was to examine links between anxiety, depression, health locus of control and meaning in life in cancer patients and healthy adults. Objectives: to compare the rates of cancer patients’ anxiety, depression, health locus of control and meaning in life according to: 1) gender; 2) age, 3) significance of depression (8 points in HAD scale) and 4) treatment methods. 5) to compare the rates of cancer and healthy controls anxiety, depression, health locus of control and meaning in life. 6) to find links between anxiety, depression, health locus of control and meaning in life in cancer patients’ population. Methods: Multidimensional Health Locus of Control (MHLC) scale (Wallston et al., 1978); Hospital Anxiety and Depression (HAD) scale (Zigmond, Snaith, 1983) and Meaning in Life (MiLS) scale (Jim et al., 2006). MHLC scale provides three-dimension measures of health locus of control: Internality; Chance; Powerful Others. HAD scale has two subscales: anxiety and depression. MiLS scale consists of 4 dimensions: Harmony; Life purposes; Spirituality and Lessened meaning. Participants: The sample consisted of n = 63 cancer patients mean age 64.87 (SD = 9.03) and healthy controls n = 63 mean age 63.73 (SD=9.321). Full textThe aim of this study is to analyse health locus of control, depressiveness and aggressivness interface and comparison between cardiovascular disease patients and healthy population. There were 203 participants in this study, 100 were in-patients with cardiovascular disease and 103 control group healthy adults. 88 of them were men (43,3 %) and 115 women (56,7 %) between 35 and 89 years of age, mean of age is 62,21 years (SD.=10,855). Health locus of control was assassed with Multidimesional Health Locus of Control Scale, A form (MHLC; Wallston, Wallston, DeVellis, 1978). Depessiveness was assessed with Beck Depression Inventory (BD; Beck, Ward, Mendelson, Mock, Erbaugh, 1961) and aggressiveness - with The Displaced Aggression Questionnaire (DAQ; Denson, Pedersen, Miller, 2006). Patients with cardiovascular disease are more depressive and express more aggressiveness in affective and cognitive dimensions comparing with healthy population. Patients are more prone to external powerful others health locus of control, also men – to inner health locus of control. Women express higher scores in affective dimension agressiveness and powerful others health locus of control in comparison to men. Lower age is related with higher expressed aggressiveness in patients group, but, conversely, older men express higher behavioral displaced aggression, and women – depressiveness.
