This master’s thesis deals with methods for detection of myocardial ischemia in the ECG signal. There is explained the principle of spreading of electrical activity through the heart muscle and its manifestations on the ECG. There are also mentioned the causes of myocardial ischemia and various methods of its detection in the ECG signal. In great detail there is explained the process of implementation of the two selected detection methods of myocardial ischemia in MATLAB. These methods are tested on the data from The PTB Diagnostic ECG Database. Finally, there is the presentation of detection results on used data and overall assessment of created algorithms.

This project considers methods of construction QRS detectors. It focus in detection complexes of QRS single leads and space speed, which are calculated from three orthogonal leads. In theory was refer to various methods, which lead to design detector. It were designed two algoritms (constant and adaptive detecting threshold), which were implemented into detector and the signal was preprocessed by Hilbert transformation. Toward algoritms were completed by modification, which improved detection effectivity. Function of algoritms were tested in all signals of CSE (V2,V5,aVF).

This project investigates methods of construction the wavelet-based QRS-complex detector. QRS-complex detection is very important, because it helps automatically calculate heart rate and in some cases it is used for compression ECG signal. The design of QRS detector can be made with many methods, in this project were mentioned and consequently tested only a few variants. The principle of designed detector used a wavelet-based decomposition of the original ECG signal to several frequency-coded bands. These bands are consequently transformed to absolute values and with the help of the threshold value are marked positions of assumed QRS complexes. Then are these assumed positions from all bands compared between themselves. If the position is confirmed at least at one nearby band, then is this position marked as true QRS complex. To increase efficiency of designed detector, two modifications were additionally mentioned. The first one, using the envelope of the signal, had rather negative effect on detectors efficiency. The second modification, using combined signal from three pseudoorthogonal leads, had reversely very good effect on detectors efficiency. In the end, the designed detector and all its modifications were tested on signals from CSE library (exactly on leads II, V2 and V6).

The goal of this work is to study the principles of delineation of ECG signals, wavelet transformation and transformation approaches to increase the number of available leads. Consequently, the knowledge was used to create delineation algorithm in Matlab. The algorithm was tested on complete CSE database. The obtained results were compared with the criteria which are set for the CSE database. In this work were realized six transformation approaches to increase the number of available leads. All of them were analyzed by delineation algorithm. In the work was examined, whether the transformation increase the efficiency of detection.

This diploma thesis is concerned about installation of AR64304 engine into Alfa Romeo 75. The main goal of this thesis is a design of exhaust system for AR64304 engine installed in the engine bay of the vehicle. The design of the exhaust system was done with a respect to the noise and emission requirements, as well as with a respect to the performance of the engine. Lotus Engine Simulation software was used for the simulation of the engine with proposed exhaust system. Input data for the simulation were obtained from measurements of the cylinder head on a flow bench and precise measurement of camshaft profile. The essential contribution of this work is a set of construction parameters of the exhaust system. This thesis also contains technical specifications of AR64304 engine and the installation process.

The master thesis deals with the issue of long-term ECG recording, used in medicine for monitoring of cardiac anomalies. Author focuses on explaning the general concepts in the first part. Author describes measuring methods and issues associated with measuring. Comparison of existing devices and design of solution with own features are in next chapter. Next is comparison and selecting of formats for recording measured data and description of device connectivity. In next chapter author focuses on hardware design and implementation of device. After that author describes software solution design for microcontroller, Bluetooth module and smartphone. Author introduces possible improvements for future generation of the device and then describes results of testing at the end of this work.

I denna rapport ställs frågor beträffande hur Viaplays streamingtjänst kan se ut i framtiden gällande TVOD och SVOD genom nya designlösningar. För att göra detta har en människo-centrerad designprocess använts för att undersöka attityder och beteenden kring TVOD. I undersökningen utreddes det hur konsumenter ser på TVOD och kombinationen med SVOD. Vad vill användarna ha, hur ser deras vanor och beteenden ut gällande hyrfilm i sin helhet? Examensarbetet har gjorts på plats hos Viaplay och med hjälp av Viaplays designteam. Utifrån djupintervjuer och användartester blev det möjligt att kartlägga en viss sannolikhet över hur användare ser på TVOD i kombination med SVOD och vilka designlösningar som är möjliga för att motivera och inspirera konsumenter till TVOD-köp. Undersökningen resulterade i en high-fidelity-prototyp som genomgick användartester där hypoteser testades med en, överlag, positiv utgång.This report question as to how Viaplay as a streaming service might look like in the future regarding TVOD and SVOD through new design solutions. To do this, a human-centered design process was used to examine attitudes and behaviors upon TVOD. The study investigated how consumers comprehend TVOD and the combination with SVOD. What do users want, how do their habits and behavior look like concerning movie rentals as whole? The thesis has been executed on site at Viaplay with assistance from their design team. Based on in-depth interviews and user tests, it was possible to identify a probability of how users comprehend TVOD combined with SVOD and what design solutions are imaginable to motivate and inspire consumers to take part in TVOD-purchases. All in all, this thesis resulted in a high-fidelity prototype that underwent user tests in which hypotheses were tested with an, overall, positive outcome.

Den teknologiska utvecklingen öppnar möjligheter att utnyttja teknologi för att skapa konkurrensfördelar. Traditionella aktörer ställs inför utmaningar vid anpassning mot ny teknologi. Den här studiens syfte var att undersöka hur teknologisk utveckling har påverkat traditionella aktörers marknadsstrategier. Det har gjorts genom att studera traditionella svenska tv-bolags strategiska anpassning mot SVOD-tjänsternas ökade inflytande på den svenska tv-marknaden. Genom en kvalitativ metod bestående av fyra semistrukturerade intervjuer med tre stora svenska tv-bolag samt sekundärdatainsamling har empiriskt underlag samlats in och analyserats utifrån en teoretisk analysmodell bestående av Porters generiska strategier samt Kim et al.:s integrerade strategi. Resultatet indikerar att samtliga studerade tv-bolag implementerar integrerade strategier i olika konstellationer, samt att kostnadsledarskap är av ökande betydelse. Vidare används data i högre utsträckning i tv-bolagens marknadsstrategier.Technological advances opens up opportunities for companies to utilize new technology to create competitive advantages. Traditional companies faces challenges when adapting to new technologies. This study aimed to explore how technological advances has affected traditional companies’ competitive strategies. This has been examined within the scope of the Swedish television market by analyzing how traditional Swedish television companies has adapted their competitive strategies to the market entry of SVOD services. The data was collected through a qualitative method including four semi-structured interviews with three major Swedish television companies and through secondary data collection. The data has been analyzed through an analysis model composed of Porter’s generic strategies and Kim et al.’s integrated strategy. The findings indicate that all studied companies implement integrated strategies in different constellations, and that implementation of overall cost leadership is of increasing importance. The findings also shows that big data is increasingly used in the examined companies’ competitive strategies.

Il convient dès lors de repenser les systèmes audiovisuels, pour intégrer les plateformes SVOD dans la mise en œuvre des obligations de diversité culturelle, notamment dans le cadre du financement de la création. Cette refonte de l’audiovisuel est en marche en France comme au Canada.

This is the reason, why the way of making leads is mentioned. One chapter is aimed at generating ECG signal. There are set requierements for the ECG generator. These requierements results from ECG instrument possibilities and from ECG signal character. Next part of this diploma thesis includes hardware design of each part of the system. The system was designed with respect to mobility and 12-leads systems compatibility. Finaly the thesis includes design of the controll software.

The main objective of this research is to measure the relation between different dimensions, or constructs of service quality with customer satisfaction and brand loyalty; thereby identifying the most important factors of service quality that affect customer satisfaction and brand loyalty, in the context of subscription video on demand (SVOD) services in the Swedish market. This study utilised a mixed methods approach divided into two stages, whereof the first involved multiple focus groups for collecting qualitative data. The second stage consisted of quantitative data collection through online questionnaires from 122 valid respondents, ranging from the age of 18 to 29 by a non- probability sampling method. SPSS was used to analyse the data with three statistical analysis methods: bivariate correlations, for establishing evidence of construct validity; a reliability analysis to test Cronbach alpha for internal consistency; and multiple regression analysis to examine the relationship between independent and dependent variables. The research findings indicate that there is a positive, significant relationship between customer satisfaction and certain constructs of service quality. Also, findings indicate that the statistical relationship between the constructs of service quality and brand loyalty are partially mediated by customer satisfaction. As a result, companies operating in the Swedish SVOD-industry need to focus on improving the significant factors of service quality, as they may increase customer satisfaction of 18 to 29-year-old customers, and further create long-term relationships as a way of gaining competitive advantage.

This research examines Subscription Video On-Demand (SVOD) using Netflix as one of the main examples that has seen a dramatic increase in usage in recent years compared to the traditional way of viewing content through television.
Using focus group sessions and an online survey, a qualitative analysis approach is used by way of a thematic analysis to elaborate and gain insight into the phenomenon of SVOD within our society which has allowed viewers to alter time shifting and self-scheduling habits. Watching online film and television over the internet, forces the breakdown of the traditional value chain of viewing methods as well as consumption of it.
This research aims to narrow this research gap surrounding SVOD. The results will be used to add value to the research area of this growing and changing phenomenon of online TV consumption with SVOD.Aquesta recerca estudia el vídeo a la carta de pagament (SVOD, en anglès) a partir de l'exemple de Netflix, el qual ha vist un increment considerable de consum al llarg dels últims anys, especialment comparat amb els mitjans de comunicació tradicionals. A través de focus group i una enquesta en línia, es fa una anàlisi qualitativa que parteix d'un estudi temàtic, a fi d'elaborar i obtenir una idea del fenomen de l'SVOD dintre de la nostra societat. Aquest fenomen ha permès als espectadors alterar els hàbits d'horari d'ús i d'autoprogramació. Veure pel·licules i televisió a través d'internet força a trencar la cadena tradicional de valor dels mètodes de visionat així com el consum dels mateixos.

Streaming services such as Netflix have changed how television is produced and consumed. In 2019, the online video on demand market was topical, with big launches such as Disney+ and Apple TV+. This period in the streaming market was popularized in the press as the “streaming war(s).” Previous research on the streaming market has aimed at understanding the industry, often with a focus on innovative features. Some studies have articulated a need to look beyond the current narrative used to describe the market. This study examines this very discourse, as no studies have concentrated on the discourse surrounding the streaming market or the relationship between the streaming industry and television trade press. Such a study object may illustrate how market discourse is currently formed and understood under neoliberalism, as well as create an understanding of how the streaming industry is understood and functions. This study aims to examine the reporting on the streaming market in television trade press in 2019, with special interest to ideological biases and the portrayed power geometry between actors within the industry. It approaches the subject with a political economy perspective and conducts a critical discourse analysis on articles from The Hollywood Reporter, Variety, Deadline Hollywood, Indiewire, and Financial Times. The sample contains only articles using the phrase “streaming war(s)”. The data is approached by asking questions about how the phrase is used, how the power relations of the streaming market are portrayed, and what ideological implications can be found in the texts. The results find that the phrase “streaming war(s)” is widely used, although no agreed meaning exists. The phrase works as a conceptual metaphor, shaping a discourse where the streaming market is viewed as a war. This portrayal of the market as harsh conflict and competition is motivated by economic interests, which the television trade press helps reproduce. The “streaming war(s)” fetishizes the streaming market and conceals the responsibility held by large media conglomerates. The actors on the streaming market are found to be positioned against each other, further portraying the market as a war. Netflix and Disney are represented as the most powerful participants because of their relations to flows of capital, content, and users. The streaming service audiences are given no agency, while the market is portrayed as having an agency of its own.

E-loyalty is an important aspect for practitioners to understand as it determines a digital company’s success. The Subscription Video on Demand (SVOD) industry is rapidly growing and becoming more competitive, which emphasizes the need to understand the key determinants of e-loyalty towards them. A quantitative study was thereby performed to investigate these. Data was collected from a survey examining e-satisfaction, e-trust, website/application quality, switching barriers, and customization, with the purpose of testing whether these can be considered key determinants in the SVOD context. The results include a regression model explaining 51.89% of the variance in e-loyalty, and show that e-trust and e-satisfaction had the largest impact on e-loyalty. These can thereby be considered key determinants of e-loyalty towards SVOD services in this study, which is in line with previous findings. Although, the results indicate that established theories might not be fully applicable, since switching barriers and website/application quality had negative impacts on e-loyalty.E-lojalitet är en viktig aspekt för marknadsförare att ha förståelse för, då detta påverkar digitala företags framgång. De streamingtjänster som är prenumerationsbaserade och tillhandahåller videoinnehåll, som kallas SVOD, växer snabbt och marknaden blir alltmer konkurrenspräglad. Detta betonar behovet av att förstå de avgörande faktorerna när det kommer till e-lojalitet gentemot dem, vilket denna studie ämnar undersöka. Med en kvantitativ metod och enkätundersökning samlades data in, där fokus var på faktorerna e-kundnöjdhet, e-tillit, webbside/appkvalitet, byteshinder och kundanpassning för att se om dessa är avgörande i e-lojalitet i SVOD-kontexten. Resultaten inkluderar en regressionsmodell som beskriver 51.89% av variansen i e-lojalitet, samt visar att e-tillit och e-kundnöjdhet har störst påverkan på e-lojalitet. De ses därför som de avgörande faktorerna i denna studie vilket är i linje med tidigare studier. Dock visar resultaten att etablerade e-lojalitetsteorier inte verkar vara fullt applicerbara på SVOD-kontexten, eftersom byteshinder och webbside/appkvalitet påverkade e-lojalitet negativt i denna studie.

This dissertation deals with QRS complex detection and ECG delineation. The theoretical part of the work describes basics of electrocardiography, QRS detection approaches, ECG delineation approaches, the standard CSE database and the wavelet transform theory. The practical part of the work describes designed methods of QRS complex detection and ECG delineation. The designed methods are based on a continuous wavelet transform, appropriate scales, appropriate mother wavelet, cluster analysis and leads transformation. The introduced algorithms were evaluated on the standard CSE database. The obtained results are better, than directly comparable results of other methods and accomplished given database criteria. The robustness of designed algorithms was successfully tested on CSE database signals modified by compression and filtering. The proposed ECG delineation algorithm was successfully used as a tool for evaluation of diagnostic distortion of ECG signals modified by compression.

A T wave peak and offset detector based on an unpublished lead transformation that can be briefly described as multilead linear regression was proposed and implemented afterwards. Potential of the transformation as a useful QRS detection tool was revealed later on. Proposed QRS detector was put to the test of CSE database. Results were compared with work of other authors. Results of T wave peak and offset detector were introduced in visual way.

The aim of this work is describe common methods of biological feedback therapy that is used to treat some psychosomatic diseases. Subsequently, the description is focused on minimal brain dysfunction treatment by the help of EEG biofeedback. Properties and technical requirements for this therapy are concretized. The last part of this thesis is dedicated to the design and realization of practical software tool for EEG biofeedback therapy which is made in LabView 7.1. The M535 acquisition unit and NI USB-6221 measuring device are used for hardware solution.

Nollywood is the second largest film industry in the world in terms of films produced per year. This industry has been experiencing a huge growth in the last decade, becoming quite popular among African countries and the African diaspora. However, Nollywood still remains quite unfamiliar for global audiences. In recent years SVOD platforms have been disseminating international content online. This trend resulted in the popularization and internationalization of emerging film industries. Thus, we have been witnessing the creating of global phenomena such as the Spanish language series Money Heist and Narcos by Netflix. The aim of this research is to examine how SVOD platforms are influencing and shaping the internationalization process of Nollywood. The internationalization process in this study will be focused on the African continent and the African communities in diaspora. However, part of this research will study the possibility of Nollywood gaining a global reputation. In addition to SVOD platforms, other media channels will also be addressed.Nollywood é a segunda maior indústria cinematográfica do mundo em termos de filmes produzidos por ano. Esta indústria tem vindo a registar um enorme crescimento na última década, tornando-se bastante popular entre os países africanos e a diáspora africana. Contudo, Nollywood continua a ser bastante desconhecido a um nível global. Nos últimos anos, as plataformas SVOD têm vindo a divulgar conteúdos internacionais. Esta tendência resultou na popularização e internacionalização de indústrias cinematográficas emergentes. Deste modo, temos assistido à criação de fenómenos globais, tais como as séries em espanhol da Netflix: La Casa de Papel e Narcos. O objetivo desta investigação é examinar como as plataformas SVOD estão a influenciar e amoldar o processo de internacionalização de Nollywood. O processo de internacionalização neste estudo será centrado no continente africano e nas comunidades africanas na diáspora. No entanto, parte desta investigação estudará a possibilidade de Nollywood ganhar uma reputação global. Para além das plataformas SVOD, serão também abordados outros canais de comunicação social.

We conduct a multiple group fixed effects analysis on the effect on two differently structured datasets. On the country level we examine the effect of Netflix being present on the level of movie piracy. The results show that movie piracy is decreasing by 1.8% per month overall. However, when looking at the entire time period the availability of Netflix in a country does not significantly decrease piracy levels. When focusing on the time period of the largest country expansion of Netflix we can observe a significant decrease in piracy on a country level by 8.1%.
When examining piracy on a movie level, we come to the conclusion that the most important factor in reducing piracy levels is the size of the catalogue. Movies that are available within catalogue in the 95th percentile of size have shown a decrease of 22.8%. However, counterintuitive to popular belief a movie just being available on Netflix does not decrease piracy levels. The effect however is heterogeneous across countries where English speaking countries have shown a lower piracy level when a movie is available compared to non-English speaking countries.Realizamos uma análise de efeitos fixos de múltiplos grupos sobre o efeito em dois conjuntos de dados estruturados de forma diferente. No nível do país, examinamos o efeito da presença da Netflix no nível da pirataria cinematográfica. Os resultados mostram que a pirataria cinematográfica está diminuindo em 1,8% por mês no total. No entanto, ao analisarmos todo o período de tempo, a disponibilidade do Netflix em um país não diminui significativamente os níveis de pirataria. Quando nos concentramos no período de tempo da maior expansão da Netflix no país, podemos observar uma diminuição significativa da pirataria a nível nacional de 8,1%. Quando examinamos a pirataria a nível cinematográfico, chegamos à conclusão de que o fator mais importante para reduzir os níveis de pirataria é o tamanho do catálogo. Os filmes que estão disponíveis dentro do catálogo no percentil 95 do tamanho mostraram um decréscimo de 22,8%. No entanto, contra-intuitivo à crença popular, um filme apenas disponível na Netflix não diminui os níveis de pirataria. O efeito, porém, é heterogêneo entre países onde países de língua inglesa mostraram um nível de pirataria mais baixo quando um filme está disponível em comparação com países que não falam inglês.
