ABSTRACTThe nominal species Mosasaurus ivoensis from the latest early Campanian of the Kristianstad Basin in southern Sweden, is redescribed and assigned to the tylosaurine genus Tylosaurus on the basis of its dental and vertebral morphology. A partial skeleton (KUVP 1024) from the late Coniacian to earliest Campanian Smoky Hill Chalk Member of the Niobrara Formation in western Kansas, USA, was previously referred to “M”. ivoensis. Nevertheless, its marginal teeth are markedly different, both in size and morphology, from those of topotypic T. ivoensis.Examination of type specimens and topotypic material of the nominal tylosaurines Hainosaurus pembinensis from the late early Campanian of Manitoba, Canada, H. gaudryi from the late Santonian or early Campanian of northwestern France, and H. lonzeensis from the Coniacian or Santonian of Belgium, indicates that all three may be Tylosaurus.The utility of isolated tooth-crowns in mosasaur taxonomy has been hampered by the often poor quality of the published illustrations of these fossils in combination with poor stratigraphic control. All Swedish remains of T. ivoensis, including 172 marginal teeth, 6 pterygoid teeth, several jawbone fragments and 12 vertebrae, were collected from a narrow stratigraphic interval corresponding to the highest biozone in the German eight-fold division of the early Campanian, providing the first good insight into the intraspecific dental variation in a tylosaurine mosasaur.

Abstract:
The papers collected in this volume were originally presented at a conference at the University of Antwerp in June 2013. It was the third in a series of scholarly meetings, two of which took place at the University of Hull (2011) and the University of Missouri-Kansas (2012). While much scholarly attention has already been paid to such famous nuns as Hildegard of Bingen or those in the convent of Helfta, the purpose here is to shed light on the vast number of medieval nuns who have not yet been the object of critical examination, especially in light of their learning, reading abilities, and their roles as authors. Any text produced in a monastery served, of course, very specific purposes, supporting the liturgy, meditation, spiritual learning, etc., so we cannot expect any secular material. The issue pursued here, however, is concerned with literacy by medieval nuns, and all three volumes would have to be consulted to get the full picture developed collectively by many different contributors. The first volume focused on nuns in northern England, especially England, Germany, the Low Countries, and Sweden. The second volume widened the geographic scope of investigation and deepened the analysis considerably, examining, for instance, how to identify nuns’ writing and artistic work reflecting theological issues.

After 12 years as Editor-in-Chief of Fetal and Maternal Medicine Review I have decided to step down, albeit I welcome the opportunity to stay on as an Associate Editor. The last 12 years have witnessed a lot of changes, not only in the field of Perinatal Medicine but also in medical publishing, with the near demise of the ‘paper-based’ journal. I have enjoyed working with Cambridge University Press who have embraced these changes and remained strong supporters of the ‘Review Journal’ concept. The quality of the papers published over this time has progressively improved and we have continued my initial vision of publishing not only clinical but scientific reviews in a range of topics related to Maternal and Fetal Medicine. I owe a huge debt of gratitude to all the Associate Editors who have contributed over the last 12 years; Karel Marsal (Lund, Sweden), Lucilla Poston (London, UK), Mark Kilby (Birmingham, UK), Tze Kin Lau (Hong Kong) and Jason Waugh (Newcastle, UK). AbstractThe present study investigates patterns of language use in the ego documents written by three Swedish immigrants: Nils Blomberg (born in 1839), Mathilda Blomberg, (b. 1863), and Anton Blomberg (b. 1885), their eldest son. The empirical foundation of the investigation is a set of 32 family letters sent over a period of nearly fifty years (1885–1934) from the rural Smoky Valley in Kansas to Mathilda’s home village in Östergötland, Sweden. We analyze the writers’ lexis, discourse patterning (formulaic versus free-flowing), and re-current topics, and the social roles and networks that are manifest in their correspondence. The three writers continued to correspond in the Swedish language over the years. Our diachronic analysis of their lexis and discourse patterning reveals individual variation across the authors’ production. For example, Mathilda’s correspondence contains some evidence of heritage Swedish (i.e. Swedish that has diverged from the home country, due to geographical separation and language contact with English). Across her lifespan, Mathilda integrates some vocabulary for plants, places, and jobs that diverges from the lexis she recalls from her early years in Sweden, and she draws attention to this lexical divergence for the sake of her readers. Anton, a childhood bilingual in Swedish and English, systematically translates English lexis to Swedish in letters, presumably with the goal to bring his Kansas experiences closer to his Swedish relatives. In particular, the letters, especially those by Mathilda, reveal not only how the individuals communicate information about their social roles in rural Kansas, but also their desires to maintain the networks connecting their family farm in the U.S. to Mathilda’s home village in Sweden.

Kanban, as well known as a practical toolkit of Lean, has become popular over recent years. Many companies are using Kanban to change and improve their own business and production situations. And many Kanban teams have reported successful implementations. However, there is no single best way to implement Kanban. What each Kanban entity does is to experiment.Kanban has been introduced to Åkers Sweden AB since the second half of 2008, when the global economic risk stated sweeping the world. Facing the shrunk demand, Kanban did drag Åkers Sweden out of the recession swamp. At present, Åkers Sweden is still on the implementing process of its updated Kanban philosophy. There are many obstacles need to overcome, a lot of vagueness need to be clarified, a crowd of aspects need to be improved.Facing this dynamic implementing condition, this thesis is expected to yield in a more practical oriented way, in order to deal with the existing problem in Åkers Sweden.In this thesis, description is used as an essential method to reveal different aspects of Kanban and illustrate how Kanban works. The Kanban is described from both partly and holistic ways. It is decomposed into several components, which is described respectively. And the holistic Kanban is mainly reflected on its goal.This detailed description does a preparation for the evaluation and analysis. SWOT analysis is used as the main analysis tool. Since the analysis process is very open, any thoughtful thinking could be involved into the outcomes. And the main purpose of the Kanban analysis is to inspire more re-thinking and realize continuous improvement.

En kartläggning på Electrolux externa transporter är gjord för att undersöka vilka faktorer som påverkar lastbilstransporter i dagsläget. Electrolux produktion och lager är uppbyggt efter TPS och kanban vilket betyder att allt som är slöseri skall elimineras och material/komponenter/artiklar endast blir försedda i produktionen vid behov.   Idag använder sig Electrolux av slingbilar, som är ett transportsystem där en lastbil kör samma rutt kontinuerligt under året. Rutten utformas efter företagets leverantörer och antal dagar slingbilen ska köras sätts efter företagets behov av material/komponenter/artiklar.   För att en slingbil ska vara prisvärd ska den antingen ha ett samspel med utgående gods eller ha tillräckligt hög fyllnadsgrad för att utesluta andra transportmöjligheter. En kartläggning på tre slingbilar är gjort och den gav oss den totala fyllnadsgraden på de tre slingbilarna. De tre olika slingorna vi har analyserat är Skåneslingan, Hovaslingan och Nordöstra Skåneslingan. Skåneslingan har ett samspel med utgående gods och därför är ingen större analys gjord på denna slinga. Hovaslingan har en tillräckligt hög fyllnadsgrad och en förändring på slingan skulle inte medföra några större besparingar. Nordöstra Skåneslingan har en låg fyllnadsgrad och inget samspel med utgående gods vilket har medfört att slingan idag inte är ett prisvärt transportalternativ. Kanbansystemet i produktionen och lagret kräver att Nordöstra Skåneslingan körs två gånger i veckan då kapitalbindningen för material/komponenter/artiklar ska hållas låg enligt kanban.   I dagsläget är inte Nordöstra Skåneslingan optimal då fyllnadsgraden är så pass låg att andra transportsätt bör övervägas eller nedskärning på antal dagar. Rapporten innefattar en djupare analys på Nordöstra Skåneslingan där dagsläget är undersökt samt att lagda förslag är analyserade för att optimera upphämtningen av gods från slingan. Varje transportsätt har sina för- och nackdelar vilket är vägda mot varandra för att identifiera de faktorer som påverkar det mest prisvärda transportalternativet för ett företag som använder sig av TPS.

Abstract:
In 2016, South Korean author Han Kang’s The Vegetarian, translated into English by Deborah Smith, was awarded the Man Booker International Prize. Following the success, South Korean critics brought to attention mistakes and inaccuracies of Deborah Smith’s work, heavily criticizing her translation, but also bringing the debate of liberal and literal translation from the academic sphere to the public eye. In Sweden, the book was translated from Deborah Smith’s English into Swedish by Eva Johansson and published under the title Vegetarianen in January 2017. This thesis uses a comparative qualitative method to investigate how Han’s novel is changed through the process of translation and indirect translation by the hands of Smith and Johansson, as well as if Smith’s translation changes through the process of working with the text. With Smith’s very liberal method of translation, her translation occasionally results in significant change of tone, atmosphere and characterization. Mistakes make it clear she did not have a sufficient comprehension of Korean, however she can be seen growing more comfortable with the language by the end of the novel. Johansson stays very loyal to Smith’s English translation due to Swedish and English being more similar languages in structure and literary tradition, she is also a very experienced translator. Despite Smith’s flawed translation, The Vegetarian has been a huge success. The author hopes that more research will be done in the areas of Korean-English translation and indirect translation from Korean, in order to further identify struggles of translators of Korean and advance Korean literature in translation.
2016 prisades Sydkoreanska författaren Han Kangs The Vegetarian, översatt till engelska av Deborah Smith, med Man Booker International Prize. Följande succén bringade Sydkoreanska kritiker uppmärksamhet till misstag och oriktigheter i Deborah Smiths översättning och kritiserade den hårt, men tog också debatten om fri och exakt översättning till allmänhetens ögon. I Sverige översattes boken till svenska från Deborah Smiths engelska av Eva Johansson och släpptes under titelnVegetarianeni januari 2017. Denna uppsats använder en komparativ kvalitativ metod för att undersöka hur Hans novell förändrats under processen av direkt och indirekt översättning av Smith och Johansson, och om Smiths översättning förändrats under hennes arbete med novellen. Genom Smiths väldigt fria metod av översättning resulterar översättningen stundtals i utmärkande förändringar i ton, atmosfär och karaktärisering. Misstag gör det uppenbart att hon inte hade tillräckliga färdigheter i det koreanska språket, dock ses hon bli mer bekväm med språket i slutet av novellen. Johannson är väldigt lojal till Smiths engelska översättning då svenska och engelska är betydligt mer liknande språk i struktur och litterär tradition. Hon är också en väldigt erfaren översättare. Trots Smiths bristfällande översättning har The Vegetarianblivit en ringande succé. Författaren av denna uppsats hoppas att mer undersökning kommer att göras i området koreansk-engelsk översättning och indirekt översättning från koreanska för att ytterligare identifiera de problem som översättare av koreanska stöter på och för att avancera översatt koreansk litteratur.

Abstract:
Denna studie undersöker hur ett samarbete mellan turismaktörer kan påverka turismens framtid i ett mindre samhälle. Området som studien utgått ifrån är Snäcke kanal, som är en del utav Dalslands kanal. Mängden tidigare forskning som belyser samarbeten generellt är relativ. Även forskning kring hur ideella samarbeten kan påverka samt kring samarbeten knutet till vattenvägsturism (river tourism) saknas. Syftet med studien blir därmed är att ta reda på hur det så kallade Snäckesamarbetet kan påverka turismens framtid i dess närområde fram tills 2020. Studien bygger på en analys kopplat till tidigare forskning, teori samt kvalitativa intervjuer som genomförts med vissa av områdets aktuella turismaktörer. Slutsatsen tar upp vikten av ett samarbete för att en utveckling ska ske, samt redogörs förbättringar som kan lyfta Snäckesamarbetets värde. Det framkommer också att potentialen för att påverka framtiden, för enskilda turismaktörer, ökar betydligt genom att delta i ett samarbete.
This study investigates how cooperation between tourism operators can influence the future of tourism in a small society. The study is concentrated to Snäcke canal, which is a part of Dalsland Canal in Sweden. Generally, the amount of previous research about cooperation is relative. Research on how nonprofit cooperation can influence, as well on cooperation related to river tourism, is missing. The purpose of the study is to discover how the so-called Snäckecooperation may affect the future of tourism in its area until 2020. The study is based on an analysis linked to previous research, theory, and qualitative interviews conducted with some of the area’s current tourism operators. The conclusion reveals the importance of cooperation for development to take place, and outlines improvements, which can increase the value of the Snäckecooperation. It was also found, for individual tourism operators, the potential to influence the future increases significantly by participating in cooperation.

Abstract:
Epiroc Drilling Tools is a manufacturing company that produces tools for rock mining and excavation. The company adopted the principles and framework of Lean Product Development in their R&D department with few practices of an agile framework called Scrum. These agile practices are used in the pre-study phase or the knowledge value stream of their lean product development. Hence, this research is limited to the knowledge value stream within the R&D department. The use of agile project management in manufacturing industry is unique and majority of the agile frameworks are specifically designed to suit the needs of software development companies. Several theories like Scrum, Lean, Kanban and DSDM were studied by the researchers to scrutinize the current framework of the department. The challenges and the similarities of the currently used framework with several other agile frameworks and the companies are discussed. Several qualitative research methods were adopted to know the viewpoints of the working employees in the department which are compared with other companies like Volvo Cars, ABB, LShift, EnergySoftware and from another division of Epiroc called Rocktec Automation who faced some similar challenges while practicing agile project management. After further research on the theories and comparison of the process, roles of the working employees and documentations within the knowledge value stream, DSDM had more similarities with the currently used framework than Scrum. This allowed to recommend ways that can fill the missing gaps using practices of DSDM without altering the existing working procedure in the knowledge value stream. This ensures that the improvement in the knowledge value stream remains continuous. On the contrary, a brief discussion is included on whether there is a need to be agile for manufacturing industries or is it just a changing trend in the field of project management.

Syftet med det här arbetet är att tydliggöra vad svenska fotbollsagenter gör samt redogöra hur legitimitet skapas i en bransch som kantas av kriminalitet och bristfällig transparens. Kvalitativa intervjuer har använts för att besvara de två forskningsfrågorna som lyder: Vad gör fotbollsagenter i Sverige och vad erbjuder de fotbollsspelare och fotbollsklubbar för tjänster? Samt, hur konstruerar fotbollsagenter legitimitet i en bransch med dåligt rykte? Respondenterna till studien är tagna från tre olika yrkesgrupper: tre fotbollsspelare, tre fotbollsagenter och tre sportchefer. Resultatet visar att fotbollsagenter i Sverige primärt jobbar med kontraktsförhandlingar, kontaktskapande, scouting och karriärrådgivning. Några agenter erbjöd även spelare möjligheten till extra träningspass, matchanalys och rehab. Utöver detta framkom det att det förekommer agenter i Sverige som arbetar med oetiska arbetsmetoder som exempelvis att muta spelare. När det kom till hur agenter konstruerar legitimitet handlar det huvudsakligen om att skapa tillit från andra aktörer i fotbollssverige. Detta görs främst genom att få externa godkännanden från andra aktörer inom fotbollen. Utöver detta handlade det om att följa den reglering som finns och hålla sig borta från allt som kan associeras med den mörkare sidan av agentbranschen.
The purpose of this thesis is to clarify what a football agent does in Sweden and describe how legitimacy is created in an industry that is associated with crime and a lack of transparency. Qualitative interviews have been used to answer the two main issues that follows: What do football agents do in Sweden and what services do they offer football players and football clubs? And how do football agents construct legitimacy in an industry with a bad reputation? The respondents were picked from three different professions: three footballers, three football agents and three sports directors. The result shows that football agents in Sweden mainly worked with contracts negotiation, professional contact creation, scouting and giving career advice. Some agents even offered their players the opportunity for extra training sessions, match analysis and rehabilitation. The result also shows that some agents in Sweden uses work methods that could be considered unethical, for example giving bribes to players. When it came to how agents constructed legitimacy, it was mainly about creating a trust between themselves and other actors in Swedish football. This was done mostly through gaining external approval from other actors in football. In addition, it was about following the regulations that exist and staying away from anything that can be associated with the shadier side of the football agent industry.

In chapter 5 Pete O’Neal describes his arrest in Kansas City, Missouri, for allegedly violating the Federal Gun Control Act of 1968. O’Neal travels to California to seek help from Charles Gary, the Panthers’ regular defense attorney. Rather than offering to defend O’Neal, Gary tells him he could help the Party more from inside prison. Deeply disappointed, O’Neal leaves the Black Panther Party and forms the Sons of Malcolm. He is convicted in Federal District Court with attorney Austin Shute defending and Judge Arthur J. Stanley presiding. Fearing that he would be killed in prison, O’Neal flees to Sweden with his wife, Charlotte.

The young generation of musicians such as Wynton and Branford Marsalis who shook up jazz in the 1980s arrives on screen in the following decade. Spike Lee’s Mo’ Better Blues and the cable-TV movie Lush Life fictionalize successful musicians of the era. Underage players also show up, as in 1940s movies: a teenage Toronto trumpeter gets advice from good and bad mentors in one, and a young pianist grapples with Tourette’s syndrome in another. In the 1990s, we see an outbreak of historical tales with unreliable narrators: a sometimes fanciful biopic of early jazz cornetist Bix Beiderbecke and Woody Allen’s extended tall tale Sweet and Lowdown, one of two 1990s films with a guitarist beholden to Django Reinhardt. In several particulars, Robert Altman’s Kansas City parallels his earlier film named for a musicians’ hub, Nashville, but in Kansas City, jazz doesn’t invade the main story.

This introductory chapter by Stefán Ólafsson, Mary Daly, Olli Kangas, and Joakim Palme sets the scene for this volume’s approach. It starts by describing the main research questions, the context, and the underlying themes. It then lays out the explanatory framework that guides the analysis and ends with an overview of each chapter of the book. The book combines general comparative studies of some 30 European countries with a more in-depth analysis of 9 countries, spanning differential experiences of the Great Recession. These include four countries that experienced a very deep crisis (Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Spain), three that were not as severely affected (Denmark, Finland, UK), and two that were only modestly affected (Norway and Sweden). The book shows that the welfare state played a much larger role in averting negative crisis consequences than during the Great Depression of the 1930s, its influence varying considerably between countries or welfare regimes.

In 1821 a man came exploring across the prairies and plains of the North American continent. His name was Jacob Fowler, and with his companions he would be the first Euro-American to ascend the whole length of the Arkansas River from what is now Fort Smith, Arkansas, to the Rocky Mountains. After eight days of poling against the current, “we stoped,” he writes in his untutored spelling, “at the mouth of a bold sreem of Watter” emptying into the Arkansas, a tributary about seventy feet wide. They followed that stream north through the sand hills that cover part of present-day Reno and Rice counties in the state of Kansas. Only a few cottonwood trees grew along its banks, affording scant shelter from the big sky, but the bluestem grass was so high one could not see the river ahead as it meandered across the prairie. Beyond the rich moist bottomlands the vegetation became buffalo grass, and the bison grazed there in black, drifting multitudes; the local Indians called the stream after the female bison, a name that became “Cow Creek” in the white man’s tongue. There were pronghorn antelopes in those days, so light and agile, counterpointing the shaggy herds. Fowler and his crew might also have seen deer, elk, coyotes, and dense flocks of ducks and geese. Then, their curiosity satisfied and their senses pleased, they pushed on west. Fowler had no idea that almost three centuries earlier another European, Don Francisco Vásquez de Coronado, had come here from the opposite direction, crossing this very same Cow Creek on his quest for the fabled city of Quivira. Coronado found in the vicinity only the Wichita Indians living in domed huts thatched with grass, but he did remark that . . . the country itself is the best I have ever seen for producing all the products of Spain, for besides the land itself being very fat and black, and being very well watered by the rivulets and springs and rivers, I found prunes like those of Spain and nuts and very good sweet grapes and mulberries. . . .

Ed. 2012, 51, 12330) the asymmetric oxidative hetero-Diels-Alder reaction of propionaldehyde (5) and ketone 6 to produce lactone 8, catalyzed by NHC catalyst 7 in the presence of phenazine. A related NHC catalyst 11 was utilized (Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2012, 51, 8276) by Xue-Wei Liu at Nanyang Technological University for the homoenolate addition of enal 9 to nitrodiene 10 to furnish 12 with high ee. The vinylogous conjugate addition of butenolide 13 to 15 to produce 16 with exquisite stereoselectivity was accomplished (Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2012, 51, 10069) by Kuo-Wei Huang at KAUST, Choon-Hong Tan at Henan University and Nanyang Technological University, and Zhiyong Jiang at Henan University. The enantioselective production of lactone 18 was achieved (J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2012, 134, 20197) by Jeffrey S. Johnson at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill by dynamic kinetic resolution (DKR) of α-keto ester 17. A related DKR strategy was employed (Org. Lett. 2012, 14, 6334) by Brinton Seashore-Ludlow at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Peter Somfai at Lund University in Sweden and the University of Tartu in Estonia for hydrogenation of α-amino-β-ketoester 19 to furnish aminoalcohol 21 with high Shigeki Matsunaga and Motomu Kanai at the University of Tokyo developed (Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2012, 51, 10275) a unique strategy for the selective production of the cross-aldol adduct 24 by in situ generation of an aldehyde enolate from allyloxyborane 23 under rhodium catalysis. The highly diastereoselective construction of adduct 26 bearing two adjacent quaternary stereocenters by ketone allylation with allyl sulfide 25 was reported (Angew. Chem. Int.
