Abstract:
In the desert regions of the Southern Levant, the dating of Nabataean sherds and vessels is a critical factor in determining the dates of archaeological strata, architecture, and even entire sites. In recent years, archaeologists working at Petra and related sites have tended to date most Nabataean sherds and vessels to the 1st century CE based on the proposed typo-chronology of the Swiss–Liechtenstein excavations at al-Zantur in Petra, published by Stephan G. Schmid (2000). Accepted typo-chronologies must withstand scrutiny and can override imposed historical frameworks. However, an uncritica

A zeolite pot experiment was conducted at the Agricultural Research Council Infruitec-Nietvoorbij in Stellenbosch, South Africa, under greenhouse conditions. The experiment aimed to investigate the impact of zeolite application on soil enzyme activities in sandy soils cultivated with Swiss chard (Beta vulgaris Var. cicla) and cabbage (Brassica oleracea Var. capitata L.) over two years (2018-2019). Different zeolite-to-soil ratios (0:1, 1:9, 2:8, and 3:7 w/w) were used, with each pot containing 12 kg of soil. The experiment involved 72 pots for each vegetable, arranged in a randomized complete

Swiss stone pine (Pinus cembra) is a slow-growing, hardy tree native to high-mountain regions of Europe from the Alps to the Carpathians. It also is planted as an ornamental in North America. Shoot blight and branch dieback were observed in the fall of 2008 on a single, 25- to 30-year-old Swiss stone pine growing on the University of Wisconsin–Madison campus. This tree is located between two mature Austrian pines (P. nigra) that exhibit symptoms of Diplodia blight and show signs of the conifer pathogen Diplodia pinea. Approximately 20% of the Swiss stone pine shoots were affected with needles

J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, exposes the concepts of individuation and self-improvement through archetypes based on the works of Swiss psychiatrist Carl Gustav. The archetypes, according to Jung (1959), are all the symbolic components of the human psyche that we all carry inside us throughout life. Likewise, the novel represents a character’s development process through these archetypes and individuation in the form of shadows and personas. Considering the ideas and theory of Jung given above, it can be stated that in Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

Several examples of the use of chemical methods to solve questions such as the effects of soil contamination, the use, the provenance, and the manufacturing of clay-based ceramics are presented. As illustrated by the element phosphorus, it is possible for chemical components to migrate into and out of a broken pot during the burial stage. The analysis of food residues, such as crusts on or organic substances in the ceramic piece shows that the medieval population in England ate mainly cabbage, whereas the Indians of Manitoba (Canada) relied on a diet of fish and animal fats during the 10th–16t

AbstractTheSeprio is an ancient territory with a history of millennia in which we find five important Longobardcenters: Sibrium(Castelseprio), Pagus Artiaco (Arsago Seprio), Castrum Novate (Castelnovate), and, further north, Stabulum (presently Stabio in the Swiss Canton of Ticino) and Campiliorum (now Campione d’Italia, an Italian exclave in Switzerland). The elements present in the grave goods of the Seprio have allowed us to understand that the Longobardwarrior held a shield, brandished a spatha (sword), and carried a scramasax (short weapon to a single cut), a spear, and in some cases even
