Abstract:
Switching costs are unobserved costs for the consumer when switching between two functionally identical products or services. These costs can take both monetary and non- monetary values, which makes them hard to estimate. The purpose of this study is to empirically estimate switching costs on the Swedish market for electricity for private consumers, and also review two methods to identify which one more suitable for the purpose. Shy’s (2002) method uses prices and market shares to estimate the costs, and Salies’ (2012) method is an extension of Shy’s method, that lifts two major limitations. E

The current thesis provides novel insights into the n–2 repetition cost, a task-switching behavioural effect thought to reflect cognitive inhibition. The n–2 repetition cost is widely used as a measure of group and individual differences in inhibitory control; however, there was uncertainty around its reliability and the extent to which it reflects cognitive inhibition. Overall, the current thesis indicates that the n–2 repetition cost is unlikely to be a measure of cognitive inhibition. In a ring topology, it has a unidirectional path between any two nodes. The average path length traversed by a packet is proportional to the number of nodes. Particularly, any path of the ring topology is exclusive used at a time; this leads to decrease the ring utilization. In order to resolve this problem, we partition our internal ring by adding some cut paths in the ring topology to reduce the average path length.
