Abstract:

Im Rahmen einer Wissenschafts- und Wissensgeschichte der Symbiose beschreibt der Text mit Anton de Bary (um 1880) und Lynn Margulis (um 1970) zwei zentrale Etappen der Erforschung biologischer Symbiosen. Er fragt danach, wie mit den in diesen Ansätzen veranschlagten Umgebungsrelationen Fragen der Autonomie und der Determination verhandelt werden. Diese Fragen bilden eine Schnittfläche zwischen soziologischem und biologischem Wissen, an der Modelle und Metaphern des Zusammenlebens zirkulieren. Anhand der Arbeiten de Barys und Margulis’ wird der Wechsel von einer Semantik der Genossenschaft hin zu einer Frage der Selbst- und Fremdbestimmung von Individuen dargestellt, die nur durch Symbiose existieren können. Diese Fragen wiederum bilden den Kern der aktuellen Auseinandersetzungen mit dem Symbiosebegriff, in denen etwa von Donna Haraway das gemeinsame, d.h. symbiotische Hervorbringen von Welten beschrieben wird.

Abstract:

In the last few years was observed an unprecedented market expansion of microbial inoculants for agriculture and environmental applications. Fungi from the phylum Glomeromycota can establish symbiosis with roots of more than 70% vascular plant species, ensuring enhanced nutrient uptake. Aim of this study was to assess functional integration of inoculated arbuscular mycorrhiza and implications for success of symbiose in field conditions and host fitness. Iris pseudacorus was used as perennial model plant for study of seasonal continuity and persisting effects in second year after inoculation. During 2019 was conducted Trouvelot microscopic evaluation for 1080 stained root samples and parameters were obtained using Mycocalc. Results showed that colonization was significantly influenced by phenophase. Inoculated plants presented values with 1.56-14.49% higher. Plant height correlated significantly positive with inoculation (r=0.336*). Results showed that colonization parameters are useful indicators in tracking symbiose across a temporal gradient.

Abstract:

Acacia spirorbis est une légumineuse endémique de Nouvelle-Calédonie se développant sur des sols calcaires, métallifères et volcano-sédimentaires, établissant des symbioses avec des bactéries fixatrices d’azote. Pour comprendre la contribution de la symbiose dans l’adaptation de la plante à des milieux contrastés et parfois extrêmes, nous avons évalué la fixation d’azote en conditions naturelles, caractérisé les rhizobia associés à cette plante et analysé la réponse adaptative de la plante aux éléments traces métalliques dans ses tissus racinaires, notamment au niveau des nodules.Nous avons mis en évidence que la symbiose rhizobienne fournissait plus de 80 % de l’azote total chez des populations naturelles d’A. spirorbis se développant sur des sites d’étude présentant des sols calcaires, métallifères et volcano-sédimentaires. Cette valeur est remarquable puisque, pour A. mangium, A.melanoxylon et A.mucronata, les valeurs moyennes sont respectivement de 50 %, 43 % et 58 %. Les rhizobia symbiotiques associés à A. spirorbis appartiennent aux α- et β-protéobactéries, genres Bradyrhizobium et Paraburkholderia, révélant ainsi une très large gamme de symbiontes et une faible sélectivité de partenaire. De manière remarquable, la taxonomie et le phénotype de ces souches sont structurés et adaptés aux conditions édaphiques. Enfin, les signatures chimiques des tissus internes des nodules reflètent les propriétés chimiques des sols dans lesquels ils se sont développés, indiquant une potentielle gestion des éléments traces métalliques dans ces tissus. Tous ces éléments suggèrent que la symbiose fixatrice d’azote contribue de manière significative dans l’adaptation d’Acacia spirorbis à des sols contrastés et pouvant présenter une toxicité polymétallique extrême.

Der Beitrag untersucht das in den 1950ern entstandene Werk Gilbert Simondons im Blick auf Konzepte symbiotischer Beziehungen. Solche – für die soziologische Theorie mehrfach instruktiven, weil geläufige Dualismen auflösenden – Konzepte finden sich bei Simondon einerseits ausdrücklich: In einer Klassifikation biologischer Individuationen erwähnt er auch symbiotische Beziehungen (die Flechte), außerdem spricht er im Blick auf die technische Aktivität metaphorisch von Symbiosen. Andererseits lässt sich Simondons Denkweise insgesamt als eine verstehen, die vielfältige ›symbiotische‹ Beziehungen ins Zentrum rückt, da sie die epistemischen Dualismen von Subjekt und Objekt, Materie und Leben, Natur und Kultur, Individuum und Kollektiv – und Materie und Form – durch Verflechtungen und Prozesse ersetzt. Anstelle dieser Dualismen geht es Simondon um permanente Individuations- oder Werdensprozesse, in denen die ontologischen Regionen ineinander verschränkt bleiben, und in denen es die Materie ist, die aktiv ist. Es geht ihm in diesem Rahmen ebenso darum, die Untrennbarkeit der Technik vom Menschen anzuerkennen, insbesondere im Fall moderner Gesellschaften: Sie sind solche einer zunehmend intensiven Verflechtung von Natur (Geografie), technischen Ensembles und menschlichen Akteuren.

Abstract:

Postmodern societies are increasingly characterized by a hyperpluralism that coincides with an interdependence between social spheres and structures. Actions in one sphere of life often impinge on other spheres of life. This leads to a consistent and endemic conflict between the social dynamics of plurality and the need for social unity. The symbiotic political theory of Johannes Althusius (1557–1638), which attempts to preserve unity through organized plurality, might be helpful in addressing the plurality/unity conundrum so characteristic of postmodern societies. Central to this approach are the anthropological and political notions of symbiosis, association, communication, and sharing. After providing some background to Althusius’s thought, this article discusses his symbiotic anthropology and explicates his symbiotic political theory. The article concludes by identifying five features of Althusius’s political theory that might be helpful to contemporary postmodern society. Les sociétés postmodernes se caractérisent de plus en plus par un hyper-pluralisme ethnoculturel qui coïncide avec une dépendance mutuelle croissante entre diverses sphères et structures sociales. Ce qui se fait dans l’une de ces sphères a souvent un impact sur d’autres. Il en découle un conflit systématique et permanent opposant la dynamique sociale du pluralisme et le besoin d’unité sociale. La théorie politique symbiotique de Johannes Althusius (1557–1638), qui cherche à maintenir l’unité par l’organisation du pluralisme, permettrait d’affronter la contradiction unité/pluralisme qui marque tant les sociétés postmodernes. Cette approche est fondée sur les notions politiques et anthropologiques de symbiose, d’association, de communication et de partage. Dans cet article, après avoir présenté quelques prémisses de la pensée d’Althusius, on examine son anthropologie de la symbiose et on analyse sa théorie politique de la symbiose. On termine l’article avec l’identification de cinq traits de la théorie politique d’Althusius qui pourraient être utiles aux sociétés postmodernes d’aujourd’hui.

RésuméCet article défend une approche à la philosophic et à l'éthique environnementale qui a originalement été avancée par Aldo Leopold. Selon cet auteur, l'éthique peut être comprise, d'un point de vue biologique, comme la forme spécifiquement humaine de la symbiose. La question cruciate de notre époque est de savoir si les humains peuvent coexister avec l'environnement global en un état de symbiose. La philosophie et les sciences humaines en général peuvent contribuer grandement à l'atteinte de ce but, à cause de la façon très spéciale dont le caractère même des actions et des æuvres humaines peut être amplifié par l'écosystème. Abstract:

Ausgangspunkt des Beitrags ist die These, dass es im Anthropozän für die Soziologie fragwürdig geworden ist, sich alleinig auf menschliche Gesellschaften zu konzentrieren. Die der Soziologie zugrunde liegende ontologische Trennung von Natur und Gesellschaft ist zu überwinden, allerdings unter Berücksichtigung der Unterschiede zwischen Leben und Materie. Abiotische Entitäten haben keine Kapazitäten für Subjektivität, Absichten, Gefühle oder zeichenhafte Kommunikation – im Gegensatz zum Bereich tierlicher Agency. Darauf aufbauend sollen eine verallgemeinerte Gabentheorie, Konzepte der Konvivialität sowie speziesübergreifender Zusammenarbeit (Symbiose) entwickelt werden, die die Soziologie in neue Richtungen führen soll. Anvisiert wird eine speziesübergreifende Theorie der Gabe, die begreifbar macht, was es heißt, nichtmenschliche Wesen als Geber anzuerkennen, im Sinne von Bündnissen zwischen menschlichen und nichtmenschlichen Wesen. Mit Symbiose wird soziologisch daher das speziesübergreifende kooperative Zusammenleben bezeichnet. Symbiose bildet eine Unterkategorie von Konvivialität als Minimalform einer gelingenden Sozialität, die wiederum auf Gabebeziehungen beruht.
