Outstanding asparagus crowns were identified in established Michigan asparagus fields, MSU germplasm, variety trials, or were provided by commercial sources. Abstract Neurotransmitters can be released either synchronously or asynchronously with respect to action potential timing. Synapsins (Syns) are a family of synaptic vesicle (SV) phosphoproteins that assist gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) release and allow a physiological excitation/inhibition balance. Consistently, deletion of either or both Syn1 and Syn2 genes is epileptogenic. In this work, we have characterized the effect of SynI knockout (KO) in the regulation of GABA release dynamics. To follow the transport of human syntaxin (Syn) 3 to the apical surface of intestinal cells, we produced and expressed in Caco-2 cells a chimera made of the entire Syn3 coding sequence and the extracellular domain of the human transferrin receptor (TfR). This chimera (Syn3TfR) was localized to the apical membrane and was transported along the direct apical pathway, suggesting that this is also the case for endogenous Syn3. To test the potential role of Syn3 in apical transport, we overexpressed it in Caco-2 cells and measured the efficiency of apical and basolateral delivery of several endogen

Using a genetic screen we discovered that YGR198w (named YPP1), which is an essential Saccharomyces cerevisiae gene of unknown function, suppresses the toxicity of an α-synuclein (α-syn) mutant (A30P) that is associated with early onset Parkinson's disease. Here, we show that YPP1 suppresses lethality of A30P, but not of wild-type α-syn or the A53T mutant. The Ypp1 protein, when overexpressed, drives each of the three α-syns into vesicles that bud off the plasma membrane, but only A30P-containing vesicles traffick to and merge with the vacuole, where A30P is proteolytically degraded.

A full bibliography for the Philippines completes the paper. Forty-four species have been identified and named, of which thirty-five are newly recorded from the Philippines, and a further twenty-nine species have been diagnosed but not described. El

The plants differed in the efficiency of seed set and in the yield of green mass. The ecotypes E182 and E231 and the synthetic population Syn5 showed the highest fertility. Multiple synostoses syndrome type 4 (SYNS4; MIM 617898) is an autosomal dominant disorder characterized by carpal-tarsal coalition and otosclerosis-associated hearing loss. SYSN4 has been associated with GDF6 gain-of-function mutations. Here we report a five-generation SYNS4 family with a reduction in GDF6 expression resulting from a chromosomal breakpoint 3′ of GDF6. A 30-year medical history of the family indicated bilateral carpal-tarsal coalition in ~50% of affected family members and acquired otosclerosis-associated hearing loss in females only, whereas vertebral fusion was present in all
