Abstract:
The kinetics of the non-enzymatic browning reaction from l-ascorbic acid/l-cysteine model systems was investigated at 125–155°C for 10–120 min by measuring the loss of reactants and monitoring the brown colour development. The result showed that the browning products were produced at the first order reaction kinetics requirement, with the E<sub>a</sub> being 114.33 kJ/mol. The mechanism for the browning development was proposed. The correlation coefficient between browning products and uncoloured intermediate products increased with the rising temperature. At temperatures below 110°C, the non-enzymatic browning reaction did not occur at all or the reaction was slow. Browning products could not be produced solely by self-degradation of l-cysteine. The amount of browning products negatively correlated with the l-ascorbic acid concentration.

L-Systems memiliki fleksibilitas dalam mensimulasikan struktur dan proses pengembangan pertumbuhan tanaman secara visual dan realistik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memodelkan pertumbuhan tanaman jagung menggunakan L-Systems dan memvisualisasikan model pertumbuhan tanaman jagung tersebut dari kecil hingga dewasa dalam ruang dimensi tiga. Penelitian dilakukan dalam tiga tahap yang diawali dari identifikasi kebutuhan data tehadap pertumbuhan tanaman jagung (Zea Mays L.). Tahap kedua, membangun model secara manual yang meliputi identifikasi dan penentuan komponen L-Systems (huruf, aksioma, dan aturan produksi). Tahap ketiga, melakukan simulasi dan visualisasi model pertumbuhan tanaman jagung yang telah didapat menggunakan processing dengan bahasa java dalam ruang dimensi tiga. Ketiga tahapan tersebut menghasilkan model Stochastic L-Systems dari pertumbuhan tanaman jagung dalam ruang dimensi tiga. Visualisasi model tanaman jagung yang telah dihasilkan pada penelitian ini lebih menekankan pada penyempurnaan model yang dilakukan pada penelitian sebelumnya terutama pada pewarnaan, pembentukan batang, dan adanya tulang daun pada tanaman jagung setiap iterasinya. Model tanaman jagung divisualisasikan mulai dari kecil hingga dewasa (fase vegetatif) yang memiliki tulang daun dan kelengkungan daun berbeda dari daun bawah sampai pada daun atas. Tanaman jagung yang divisualisasikan hanya terbatas sampai 8 iterasi saja yang sudah mampu mewakili pertumbuhan tanaman jagung pada fase vegetatif

Abstract:
I detta arbete utförs en jämförelse av exekveringstid för tolkning och rendering av Lindenmayersystem (L-system), utfört av samma algoritm på CPU’n (eng. central processingunit) och GPU’n (eng. graphics processing unit). Undersökningen fokuserar på exekveringstid och dess utveckling vid olika typer av L-system, längder samt upplösning. Algoritmen implementerades i spelmotorn Unity både på CPU’n via C# och på GPU’n medhjälp av beräknings-shaders. Experimenten bestod av två L-system. Ett med förgreningaroch ett utan. Båda L-systemen testades med olika upplösningar och längder, varpå exekveringstid avlästes. Experimentens resultat påvisar stor fördel hos CPU-lösningen gällande exekveringstid. Bristen på GPU-anpassad kod, exempelvis kod utan förgreningar och med bra minneshantering, leder till att GPU’n presterar sämre. Arbetet avslutas med förslag på vidareforskning. Förslagen innefattar utökad testning på olika hårdvara, en mer kontrollerad testmiljö samt implementering av algoritmen i faktisk spelproduktion.

Ce travail porte sur l'étude de la propriété d'(A,B)-invariance de polyèdres convexes et son application à la commande sous contraintes et au problème l1. D'abord, nous proposons une caractérisation explicite de l'(A,B)-invariance de polyèdres convexes pour des systèmes en temps discret. Cette caractérisation se traduit par des conditions nécessaires et suffisantes sous la forme de relations matricielles linéaires, et présente deux avantages majeurs vis-à-vis de celles rencontrées dans la littérature : elle s'applique à tous les polyèdres convexes et elle ne nécessite pas le calcul de sommets. Ces avantages se font sentir notamment dans le calcul du domaine (a,b)-invariant supremal inclus dans un polyèdre donne, pour lequel nous proposons une méthode numérique. Le problème de calculer une loi de commande rendant positivement invariant en boucle fermée un polyèdre (a,b)-invariant est également traite. Les relations d'(A,B)-invariance sont alors généralisées à des systèmes soumis à des contraintes linéaires sur la commande et à des systèmes soumis à des perturbations additives bornées. Puis, les résultats obtenus en temps discret sont étendus aux systèmes en temps continu. Ensuite, le problème d'atténuation de perturbations additives persistantes, connu dans la littérature comme problème l1, est étudié. Les domaines (A,B)-invariants intérieurement stabilisables sont d'abord caractérises. Puis, nous proposons une approche décomposée pour le calcul du domaine intérieurement stabilisable supremal inclus dans le polyèdre défini par les contraintes de performance l1. Un niveau de performance donne est atteignable si et seulement si ce domaine supremal n'est pas vide. Cette approche géométrique permet notamment de déterminer directement la solution du problème l1 pour une classe importante de systèmes. Enfin, nous étendons l'étude de l'(A,B)-invariance de polyèdres à des systèmes dont le modèle est soumis à des incertitudes du type structure.

Abstract:

Arbetet undersöker grafikkortets lämplighet att tolka L-system i realtid. L-system är ett strängomskrivningssystem som beskriver strukturen hos botaniska former. Lsystem tolkas med hjälp av sköldpaddstolkningen för att få en geometrisk tolkning. För att utvärdera om grafikkortet är lämpat att tolka L-system i realtid har två system implementerats. Det ena systemet tolkar L-system på processorn och det andra systemet tolkar L-system på grafikkortet. Jämförelser har gjorts mellan dessa två system, framförallt av tidsåtgången för att tolka och rendera L-system. Men även minnesmängden som behövs för att realisera båda systemen i olika fall. Resultatet är en algoritm på grafikkortet som kan tolka L-system i realtid under rätt förutsättningar, men slutsatsen är att processorn är mer lämpad för uppgiften. Algoritmen på grafikkortet presterar väl vid hög polygonnivå, men under dessa förutsättningar utförs inte tolkningen i realtid. Vidare minskar algoritmen minnesåtgången på grafikkortet jämfört med algoritmen på processorn.

The Square Kilometre Array (SKA) is a multi billion dollar international project to create a receiving surface of a million square metres, one hundred times larger than the biggest receiving surface now in existence. The SKA core array will have to be located in a remote area. Therefore countries interested in hosting the SKA core array were requested to perform Radio Frequency Interference measurements at their site of choice. The systems that are to be used in the measurements must conform to a document called the "RFI Measurement Protocol for Candidates SKA Sites", the SKA Memo 37. The RFI protocol divides measurements into two parts, Mode 1 and Mode 2. Mode 1 is defined for the observation of strong RFI and is relevant for SKA receiver linearity analysis. Mode 2 is defined for the observation of weak interferences, which potentially threatens to obscure weak signals of interest. In Mode 1, the RFI protocol specifies a dwell time of 2μS duration over a large 1 MHz bandwidth in the 960 -1400 MHz band (L-band). The reason for this short dwell time is to capture and characterize pulsed interference from radars and Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) in this band. This kind of interference is expected, potentially with very high peak power and short dwell time. Executing these measurements with the spectrum analyzer is impractical because of the very long measurement times. It was therefore proposed to build a dedicated FFT spectrometer from standard components, state of the art FPGA board with a high speed 14 bit ADC.
