Abstract:
The kinetics of the non-enzymatic browning reaction from l-ascorbic acid/l-cysteine model systems was investigated at 125–155°C for 10–120 min by measuring the loss of reactants and monitoring the brown colour development. The result showed that the browning products were produced at the first order reaction kinetics requirement, with the Ea being 114.33 kJ/mol. The mechanism for the browning development was proposed. The correlation coefficient between browning products and uncoloured intermediate products increased with the rising temperature. At temperatures below 110°C, the non-enzymatic browning reaction did not occur at all or the reaction was slow. Browning products could not be produced solely by self-degradation of l-cysteine. The amount of browning products negatively correlated with the l-ascorbic acid concentration.

Abstract:

Abstract:
The rapid development of the Internet has brought tremendous changes to people’s lives. Through the network function, the online examination is gradually accepted by various educational and teaching institutions. Currently, online exams have become the main method of teaching evaluation. In order to solve the problem of intelligent test paper more effectively, this paper proposes a mufti-threaded intelligent test paper strategy based on genetic algorithm, and designs the computer system structure in the standard test question bank. Convergence simulation and experimental results show that the algorithm is better than simple particle swarm optimization algorithm, simple genetic algorithm and its improved algorithm. Established a mathematical model and objective function for test paper composition, and proposed an intelligent test paper composition strategy based on genetic algorithm. The investigator used overall coding, crossover and mutation operations to improve the global optimization capability and convergence speed. It overcomes the phenomenon of premature and improves the accuracy and speed of convergence. It has the advantages of strong optimization ability and good stability.

Abstract:
L-System has been very useful in modeling the development of biological plant. It has also been applied to music rendering and the L-systems plant model has also been used to represent musical note. Nonetheless, most of the tools available for L-System modeling require strong backgrounds in programming as well as L-Systems. In this paper, we describe an implementation of a simple and yet useful visual language framework for rapid generation of musical sounds which requires no such backgrounds. The framework is realized by designing and developing a simplified icon-based visual language framework. The system, called Visual Language Music Rendering provides an expressive music environment for L-System music rendering. In the framework, visual language grammar models for L-System music rendering are fed into the system for more effective transformation of plant model to music rendering. The framework also includes using mutated stochastic and context-sensitive L-Systems visually which results in better melody and enhanced musical sounds. In the evaluation, the system was compared with an existing music rendering tool and it was found that Visual Language Music Rendering is the preferred system and individuals who are interested in music rendering can easily use it even though one has no experience in music or L-System.

Abstract:
The inclusion of species with allelopathic activity in crop rotation systems may have benefits for crop management such as weed control, but less is understood about their wider impacts on succeeding crops. The main objective of this study was to investigate the effects of two allelopathic species (spearmint and peppermint) on growth, physiological characteristics, and yield of a following maize crop. Thus, field experiments were carried out at two sites, according to a randomized complete block design, while the examined treatments were: (a) fallow–fallow–maize crop rotation system (FFM), (b) spearmint–spearmint–maize crop rotation system (SSM), and (c) peppermint–peppermint–maize crop rotation system (PPM). Our results indicated that the inclusion of spearmint or peppermint in crop rotation systems negatively affect the growth of maize plants. The highest plant height was recorded for FFM rotation system where no allelopathic species were used. At both sites and for four sampling dates, the aboveground dry biomass was also affected by the implemented crop rotation system. In particular, dry biomass was significantly lower in the PPM and SSM crop rotation systems comparing to the FFM system, whereas there were no significant differences between these two crop rotation systems. Similar to the maize biomass, the highest values of photosynthetic rate, stomatal conductance, and relative chlorophyll content were observed for the FFM rotation system. Additionally, differences in grain yield were observed among the tested crop rotation systems. Grain yield ranged from 10,200 to 13,346 kg ha−1 and from 11,773 to 14,106 kg ha−1 at site A and B, respectively, while it was reduced by 16.54–23.58% and 12.16–17.83% in the SSP and PPM rotation systems comparing to the FFM system. In conclusion, our results indicate that the inclusion of peppermint or spearmint in crop rotation may inhibit plant growth and reduce grain yield of maize as successive crop, an effect that could be attributed to the allelopathic activity of spearmint and peppermint.

Abstract:
Mindi is one of commercial tree species for its timber. Sustainable management of mindi community forest can be obtained by inter-planting the trees with agricultural crop such as soybean. This study aimed to analyze physiological respond of mindi and soybean, which were planted in an organic agroforestry system. The research was done in Conservation Unit for Medicinal Plants at Cikabayan, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB). The first study was about the growth of mindi saplings in monoculture and agroforestry systems (with soybean). The experiment used completely randomized design (CRD). The second study was about the growth of soybean in monoculture and agroforestry systems (with mindi), and used split-plot design. The result show that nutrient uptake of N, P, and K in agroforestry system was higher than in monoculture. The increase of nutrient content in agroforestry system led to the higher increase of growth dimensions of mindi tree than the ones in monoculture. The content of soybean chlorophyll planted in agroforestry system was higher than the ones in monoculture. Soybean in agroforestry system had higher nutrient uptake of N, P, and K compared to the ones in monoculture. Soybean productivity in monoculture system showed higher result than the ones in agroforestry. Keywords: chlorophyll, monoculture, root, tree dimension, varieties
