Abstract:
A new method, namely UACIEM, to extract reliable intensities of nonequivalent systematical overlapping reflections has been proposed and tested by simulated powder diffraction data from known crystal structures. Using both crystallographic and structural chemistry information, the method reconstructs diffraction intensities and solves a crystal structure through an iterative procedure. Our study shows that UACIEM is successful for cases where more than 30% of the total scattering power is located with precision from equivalent systematical overlapping reflections. The UACIEM process is not needed when equivalent systematical overlapping reflections are sufficient to reveal a crystal structure. UACIEM may fail in cases when: (i) only a small portion of the total scattering power (e.g., less than 7%) can be located, and (ii) most of the total scattering power (e.g., 95%) is located, but the atomic coordinates are not accurately known. The UACIEM method is superior to the simple equipartition methods for nonequivalent systematical overlapping reflections.

Abstract:
Monolithic dome structures were built in the 1970s in Europe and America. These dome structures share common benefits of being cost efficient, earth-friendly, extremely durable, and easily maintained. Monolithic shells are easily constructed and are extremely cost-effective. Monolithic domes respond efficiently to any climate, even to extremely cold or hot temperatures. In terms of utility savings, monolithic domes can cut electricity consumption by up to one-third, thereby saving 60–70% of total energy costs. Moreover, monolithic structures provide the highest survivability rates from destructions. The interior of monolithic domes have perfect, concave shapes to ensure that sound travels through the dome and perfectly collected at different vocal points. These dome structures are utilized for domestic use because the scale allows the focal points to be positioned across daily life activities, thereby affecting the sonic comfort of the internal space. This study examines the various acoustic treatments and parametric configurations of monolithic dome sizes. A geometric relationship of acoustic treatment and dome radius is established to provide architects guidelines on the correct selection of absorption needed to maintain the acoustic comfort of these special spaces. In this study we cannot take the particular research paper for comparison of results. The location of structure for terrain category I calculated and so the wind speed varies according to terrain and this results in different value of load calculation for different terrain category.

Abstract:
A systematic study of the methodology that determines the probability of the DGD overcomes a settled maximum value was presented. The methodology was discussed in a theoretical way; the values were based on a database received from optical fibers manufacturers/cablers. A comparison was conducted taking in consideration these same cables already installed in two backbones. The result of this systematic comparison was presented, as a statistic of the DGD value exceeds certain maximum value established by the standard ITU-T for systems from 10 to 40Gbps. Based on these results, the identification of mistakes that ascends the beginning of manufacture process of the optical fiber cables was important. The restriction of the sensibility of measurement devices leads to a overestimation of the probability of the DGD exceeds a given maximum value and the concept of the guideline TIA/EIA TSB107, that defines the methodology of acquisition of these results. These critical results could lead to a mistake choosing the optical system transmission and cause loss profit as well as time delay in a project. There were proposed three recommendations in order to guide the methodology for a trustful preview of the obtained results from TIA/EIA method 2, offering more comfort for optical high capacity system design.

Abstract:
In Lithuania the amount of waste generation is increasing every year. According to national strategy, all wastes should be disposed in new regional landfills. Landfills pollutes environment with leachate and landfill gas and odours. Landfill gas consists of odorous compounds and one of them is hydrogen sulphide (H2S). Hydrogen sulphide is highly toxic and affects the nervous system with low threshold. As the landfill gas and leachate generation was word widely investigated before this work, it is not necessary to provide new researches on them. The measurements of H2S generation were provided in Jerubaiciai landfill. For the measurements was used “site-on” measurement method, measurements were provided with equipment GD/MG 7, in 51 measurement points and 2 monitoring wells, during different seasons of the year. Results of the measurement shows, that amount of H2S varies in different areas of landfill and during different seasons. The results of dispersion modeling achieved with dispersion model AERMOD, provided under calm weather conditions and under wind dominated in that session winter speed and direction, during different seasons of the year shows, that H2S spreads from landfill in longest distances from landfill’s section during summer (almost in distance equal to 2.5 km the H2S concentration is higher then Highest Allowable Concentration ). In autumn and spring this distance is equal to 1.5 km, and in winter – 800 m.<br>Susidarančių komunalinių atliekų kiekis Lietuvoje kiekvienais metais didėja.

Abstract:
Context: Digital transformation poses new challenges to the organization. Market needs and competition in business have changed the continuous testing environment and continuous delivery in software organizations. There is a great possibility of conflict between the development and testing operations because they are a separate entity in large organizations. Organizations where testers, developers, and operation teams do not communicate well and lack collaboration can have their productivity affected negatively. This leads to defects and errors at the early stage of the development process. DevOps’ approach enhances the integration, delivery, performance, and communication between the developers, testers, and operational members. Organizations are reluctant to apply DevOps practices because there is a lack of agreement on DevOps characteristics. The most difficult part of a large organization is DevOpsadaptation and its implementation because of its legacy structure. It is required to get an understanding of DevOps implementation in organizations before they start transforming. Objectives: The thesis aims to identify the challenges in organizations towards continuous delivery and provide a list of techniques or strategies to overcome continuous testing and DevOps challenges. This thesis also identifies the communication challenges between continuous testing and delivery teams during the COVID-19 pandemic and the software architecture effect on testing in the DevOps environment. Methods: To achieve the research goal a multiple research method techniques are applied. A systematic literature review is conducted to identify the literature and to meet the research goal. A survey is conducted for the verification of the data from SLR. An interview is used as a data collection method in Survey and explores the actual process of continuous testing and delivery in large DevOps companies. Results: A list of challenges to large organizations towards continuous delivery is generated. A list of strategies and solutions towards the challenges of continuous testing and DevOps is generated. A list of post COVID-19 communication challenges between testing and delivery groups in DevOps is created. A list of software architecture and production environment effects on testing is also generated. After analyzing the SLR results, a survey is conducted to validate the results from software practitioners. Thematic analysis is performed on the results. "Finally", the findings from the SLR and Survey are compared. Conclusions: This research’s findings can help researchers, industry practitioners, and someone who wants to investigate further the possible effects with the continuous testing and delivery during DevOps transformation. We observed that industry practitioners could enhance their communication channels by reviewing the post-COVID-19 communication challenges between testing and delivery teams. We also observed that there is more research required to continue on this topic.

Martínez, Quiroga Victor. "Scaling-up methodology : a systematical procedure for qualifying NPP nodalizations. Application to the OECD/NEA ROSA-2 and PKL-2 Counterpart test." Doctoral thesis, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, 2014. http://hdl.handle.net/10803/284663.

Abstract:
System codes along with necessary nodalizations are valuable tools for thermal hydraulic safety analysis. Qualifying both codes and nodalizations is an essential step prior to their use in any significant study involving code calculations. Since most existing experimental data come from tests performed on the small scale, any qualification process must therefore address scale considerations. Along these lines, the present thesis introduces a new scaling-up methodology that contributes to the qualification of Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) nodalizations by means of scale disquisitions. The "UPC Scaling-up methodology" is a systematic procedure based on the extrapolation of Integral Test Facility (ITF) post-test simulations. There are three main pillars that support this procedure: judicious selection of experimental transients, full confidence in the quality of the ITF simulations, and simplicity in justifying discrepancies that appear between ITF and NPP counterpart transients. The techniques that are presented include the so-called Kv scaled calculations as well as the use of two new approaches, ¿Hybrid nodalizations¿ and "Scaled-up nodalizations". These latter two methods have revealed themselves to be very helpful in producing the required qualification and in promoting further improvements in nodalization. "Scaled-up nodalizations" allow effects of the ITF scaling-down criterion to be checked. On the other hand, "Hybrid nodalizations" help the user to establish how design differences modify the results. In order to carry out these calculations, a Powerto-Volume-Scaling Tool (PVST) was developed. This software generates scaled-up input decks for RELAP5mod3 following the Power to Volume Scaling (PtoV) methodology. Within the presentation of this software, it is included a detailed description of the PtoV criterion together with the scaling distortions that are expected from its application to the RELAP5mod3 equations. PVST capabilities are also assessed on two post-test simulations that were carried out at the LSTF experimental facility within the framework of the OECD/NEA ROSA and ROSA-2 projects. Finally, an assessment of the present methodology was carried out by making use of the OECD/NEA ROSA-2 and PKL-2 Counterpart Tests (an exhaustive description of both facilities and experiments is also included). One of the limitations of scaling methodologies is the impossibility to qualify their predictions because of a lack of counterpart experimental data at NPP level. Thus, the ROSA-2 PKL-2 Counterpart Test was of great value because it allows an identical transient to be compared between two facilities with relevant differences in both design and scale. The study of both LSTF and PKL counterpart tests has enabled us to define which phenomena could be well reproduced by the nodalizations and which phenomena could not, and also to establish the basis for future extrapolation to a NPP scaled calculation. On the other hand, the application of the UPC scaling-up methodology has demonstrated the fact that selected phenomena can be scaled-up and explained between counterpart simulations by carefully considering differences in both scale and design. As future lines of research, in the short term it is planned to fully apply the present methodology to qualify NPP nodalizations for the correlation of core exit temperatures (CET) versus peak cladding temperatures (PCT). In the long term, it is also intended to fully integrate the "UPC scaling-up methodology" within scaling issue, and to focus the efforts on providing a definite answer to the scaling controversy on the extrapolation of code accuracy to NPP level.<br>Los códigos de sistema, así como las nodalizaciones asociadas a sus cálculos, son herramientas de gran valor para los análisis de seguridad.

Abstract:
Abstract From a viewpoint of easy work-over operation and prevention of pollution, clear brines have been favorably used for the completion fluids. A solution of corrosion problems is important particularly for the safe operation of brines, particularly ones with high specific gravity, because it is seen that the corrosivity is extreme. For the systematical application of completion fluids in deep, high temperature wells, various combinations of brines and inhibitors were examined. Carbon steels with the yield strength of 643MPa to 1166MPa and a series of practical alloys, i.e. 9Cr-1Mo, 13Cr, 22Cr and 25Cray duplex stainless and high Ni austenitic stainless steels were used for test materials. The corrosivity and the environmental degradation was examined. As the results, a recommendation of usage of completion fluids was proposed for the carbon steel casing and tubing strings. A candidate completion fluid for alloys-carbon steels strings was also discussed.

Abstract:
Our paper addresses the question, why systemic approaches have only played a modest role in impact evaluations of in- novation and technology programmes so far and examines possible reasons for this shortcoming, as well as discussing solutions that could be offered to remedy the existing deficit. While the need for a systemic approach to evaluations has been stressed quite often, the methodological challenges and reasons for the lack of systemic evaluations in practice have to our knowledge not yet been addressed in a systematical manner. This contribution is conceptual in nature and based on a review of the research literature on the use of systemic approaches in evaluations of the impact of R&amp;I policy programmes. The analysis shows that the use of systemic methods encounters both epistemological and institutional obstacles. Suggestions are made for the further development of the methodological repertoire by including suitable systemic approaches.

Abstract:
Review question / Objective: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a common, preventable, and treatable disease characterized by persistent respiratory symptoms and progressive airflow obstruction documented on spirometry. Acupuncture, as a safe and economical non-pharmacology therapy, has pronounced therapeutic effects in COPD patients. Several systematic reviews draw the conclusion that acupuncture could improve patients’ quality of life, exercise capacity and dyspnoea, however, the results about lung function were inconclusive. Recently, increasing number of animal studies has been published to illustrate the effects of acupuncture in improving lung function in COPD animal model. However, the efficacy of acupuncture for experimentally induced COPD have not been systematically investigated yet. A systematic review of animal experiments can benefit future experimental designs, promote the conduct and report of basic researches and provide some guidance to translate the achievements of basic researches to clinical application in acupuncture for COPD. Therefore, we will conduct this systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate effects of acupuncture on COPD animal model.
