Full text
Abstract:
A new method, namely UACIEM, to extract reliable intensities of nonequivalent systematical overlapping reflections has been proposed and tested by simulated powder diffraction data from known crystal structures. Using both crystallographic and structural chemistry information, the method reconstructs diffraction intensities and solves a crystal structure through an iterative procedure. Our study shows that UACIEM is successful for cases where more than 30% of the total scattering power is located with precision from equivalent systematical overlapping reflections. The UACIEM process is not needed when equivalent systematical overlapping reflections are sufficient to reveal a crystal structure. UACIEM may fail in cases when: (i) only a small portion of the total scattering power (e.g., less than 7%) can be located, and (ii) most of the total scattering power (e.g., 95%) is located, but the atomic coordinates are not accurately known. The UACIEM method is superior to the simple equipartition methods for nonequivalent systematical overlapping reflections.

Abstract:
Monolithic dome structures were built in the 1970s in Europe and America. These dome structures share common benefits of being cost efficient, earth-friendly, extremely durable, and easily maintained. Monolithic shells are easily constructed and are extremely cost-effective. Monolithic domes respond efficiently to any climate, even to extremely cold or hot temperatures. In terms of utility savings, monolithic domes can cut electricity consumption by up to one-third, thereby saving 60–70% of total energy costs. Moreover, monolithic structures provide the highest survivability rates from destructions. The interior of monolithic domes have perfect, concave shapes to ensure that sound travels through the dome and perfectly collected at different vocal points. These dome structures are utilized for domestic use because the scale allows the focal points to be positioned across daily life activities, thereby affecting the sonic comfort of the internal space. This study examines the various acoustic treatments and parametric configurations of monolithic dome sizes. A geometric relationship of acoustic treatment and dome radius is established to provide architects guidelines on the correct selection of absorption needed to maintain the acoustic comfort of these special spaces. In this study we cannot take the particular research paper for comparison of results. The location of structure for terrain category I calculated and so the wind speed varies according to terrain and this results in different value of load calculation for different terrain category.

Full text
Abstract:
In this study, the rheological behavior of maize kernel was systematically investigated using a dynamic mechanical analyzer. The loss in toughness caused by drying resulted in a downward shift in the relaxation curve and an upward shift in the creep curve. The long relaxation behavior became obvious when the temperature was above 45 °C, resulting from the weakening of hydrogen bonds with temperature. The maize kernel relaxed more rapidly at high temperatures, caused by a reduction in the cell wall viscosity and polysaccharide tangles. The Deborah numbers were all much smaller than one, suggesting that the Maxwell elements showed viscous behavior. Maize kernel, as a viscoelastic material, showed a dominant viscous property at high temperatures. The decline in β with increasing drying temperature indicated an increase in the width of the relaxation spectrum. A Hookean spring elastic portion made up the majority of the maize kernel creep strain. The order–disorder transformation zone of maize kernel was about 50–60 °C. Due to the complexity of maize kernel, the William–Landel–Ferry constants differed from the universal values; these constants should be ascertained through experiments. Time-temperature superposition was successfully used to describe the rheological behavior. The results show that maize kernel is a thermorheologically simple material. The data acquired in this study can be used for maize processing and storage.

Abstract:
In design, construction and maintenance of any engineering system, engineers have to take many technological and managerial decisions at several stages. The ultimate goal of all such decisions is either to minimize the effort required or to maximize the desire benefit. Optimization can be defined as the process of finding the condition that give maximum or minimum value of function. Thus, study was conducted for exploring about concept of ‘Optimization of structure’ i.e. ‘Optimization of swimming pool’. The swimming pool means any structure, basin, chamber or tank containing an artificial body of water for swimming, diving, recreational bathing. Considering the underground rectangular swimming pool, the vertical wall of such structure is subjected to hydro-static pressure and soil pressure & the base is subjected to weight of water and uplift soil pressure and it is designed by using Indian Standards. This paper focused on the optimum cost design of swimming pool due to effects of variation in grade of concrete and for different capacity by change in height (Depth). The main aim is to achieve the economy. Material saving results in saving in construction cost at the same time the safety is also considered. The model is analyzed and design by using MATLAB software. Optimization is formulated is in nonlinear programming problem (NLPP) by using sequential unconstrained minimization technique (SUMT).

Abstract:
Lake monitoring surveys data are vital and have been being accumulated for every lake. However data itself, without effective data management and interpretation, cannot be used to tell the story or history of the lake. Therefore, this project aims to develop a new water quality database system for a lake with systematical functions to utilize such data effectively and to satisfy both general public users and specialists. Lake Biwa was chosen as the target lake, where long-term monitoring data were available for almost one hundred years. A relational database application, Access 2002, with the help of Macro functions and VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) was introduced to organize all of the data. With the systematical storing of data, valuable data could be easily accessed, filtered and powerfully utilized for researchers own interests. The filtered data can be written into basic documents (spreadsheet or text files), provided for outside requests, and again used for further basic and advanced analysis by a reading back process. The system supports multiple users, especially public users by providing user interface system and visualized result displays. The final outcomes from this systematic data utilization can be fruitfully used as the guideline for effective monitoring management program of lake water quality.

Abstract:
The present sports teaching model research is inevitably single functional and lack of interactive, the students can hardly encouraged which especially reflected in sports teaching model system research, meanwhile, it also weaken the operability of sports teaching model. Thus, it is necessary to combine practical teaching with sports teaching model during systematical research, and it is propitious to the sports teaching reform of our country. Though the construction and demonstration of information interactive feedback teaching model, this paper shows that: with student as subject and dominated by teachers, the information interactive feedback teaching model is a systematical model with the combination of teaching and learning, it can effectively improve teaching level, help to achieve teaching objectives and accomplish teaching tasks.

Abstract:
Abstract The leakage current and flat-band voltage (V FB) instability of NO-nitrided SiC(11 2 ¯ 0) (a-face) MOS devices were systematically investigated. Although NO nitridation is effective in improving the interface properties, we found that it reduces the onset field of Fowler–Nordheim current by about 1 MV cm−1, leading to pronounced leakage current. Synchrotron radiation X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy revealed that the nitridation reduces the conduction band offset at the SiO2/SiC interface, corroborating the above finding. Furthermore, systematical positive and negative bias stress tests clearly indicated the enhancement of V FB instability of nitrided a-face MOS devices against electron and hole injection.

Abstract:
The standard theory of electroweak interactions predicts a parity nonconserving asymmetry in the order of 1 × 10−5 for the quasi-elastic scattering of 300 MeV longitudinally polarized electrons from nuclei at backward angles. The experimental setup for the detection of such small effects is described, and the procedure of data taking and analysis is discussed with regard to systematic uncertainties. The experimental asymmetry is found to be Aexp = (−3.51 ± 0.68 ± 0.20) × 10−6, where the first quoted error specifies the statistical uncertainty, the second one, the systematical. Aexp is interpreted in terms of model-independent coupling constants between the weak neutral current and the nucleon.
