Abstract The Phase Locked Loop (PLL) has become an important part of electrical systems. When designing a PLL, an efficient and reliable simulation platform for system evaluation is needed. However, the closed loop simulation of a PLL is time consuming. To address this problem, in this paper, a new PLL model containing both digital and analog parts based on SystemC/SystemC-AMS (BETA version) is presented. Many imperfections such as Voltage Control Oscillator (VCO) noise or reference jitter are included in this model. By comparing with the Matlab model, the SystemC/SystemC-AMS model can dramatically reduce simulation time. Also, by comparing with Analog Devices ADI SimPLL simulation results, Cadence simulation results and real measurement results, the accuracy of the SystemC/SystemC-AMS model is demonstrated. The paper shows the feasibility of a unified design environment for mixed-signal modelling based on SystemC/SystemC-AMS in order to reduce the cost and design time of electrical systems.

L'université de l'Alberta a récemment terminé une étude exhaustive des services de protection de l'hygiène du milieu gérés et offerts localement en Alberta, et en a proposé une nouvelle conception. Dans cet article, les auteurs décrivent brièvement les questions clés et les caractéristiques particulières à la prestation de services d'hygiène du milieu, et y présentent l'approche proposée par l'équipe de recherche albertaine pour aborder ces questions.

Abstract:
Powder produced by gas atomisation of metastable beta alloy Ti-5Al-5Mo-5V-3Cr has been consolidated using field-assisted sintering technology (FAST) to examine the suitability of the process to produce pre-forged billets as opposed to the conventional multi-step Kroll-VAR-forging route. FAST testing was performed using an FCT Systeme GmbH spark plasma sintering furnace type HP D 25 at The University of Sheffield. The dwell temperature was varied between 800 and 1200°C and the dwell time between 3 and 60 minutes. The process was found to allow very precise control over the beta grain size in Ti-5Al-5Mo-5V-3Cr by variation of the dwell time and dwell temperature, producing grain sizes between ~40 and ~350 μm. However, it was found that the grain size was increased more by increasing the dwell temperature than increasing the dwell time. The porosity was found to be between 99.5 and 100 % for all dwell temperatures at dwell times of 30 minutes or above. FAST has the ability to produce almost fully consolidated Ti-5Al-5Mo-5V-3Cr pre-forged material from powder with a controlled beta grain size, which is not possible by other methods.

Der Beitrag befasst sich mit Teilaspekten bei der Entwicklung von Methoden zur gezielten, bearbeitungsparallelen Oberflächenkonditionierung beim Tiefbohren. Konkret handelt es sich um messtechnische und simulationsbasierte Ansätze zur Identifikation von thermomechanischen Prozesszuständen beim BTA- und ELB-Verfahren. Hierbei werden Möglichkeiten zur Gewinnung von Prozessdaten sowohl mit einer in-situ eingesetzten Sensorik als auch mit begleitend durchgeführten FEM-Simulationen betrachtet. Diese Daten bilden die Grundlage einer Prozessregelung für die beiden Tiefbohrverfahren. Im ersten Teil werden zunächst die Arbeiten und Ergebnisse zum BTA-Tiefbohren behandelt.   The article deals with aspects of developing methods specifically for surface conditioning in deep hole drilling parallel to machining. This involves metrological and simulation-based approaches for identifying thermo-mechanical process conditions in both BTA and ELB process. Ways for obtaining process data both with sensor technology used in-situ and with FEM simulations performed concomitantly are investigated. These data form the basis of a deep hole process control. The first part presents the work and the results on BTA deep hole drilling.

Abstract:
Corallus hortulana presents a large array of tones and color pattern variability throughout its distribution (= polychromatism), which trigged the description of several taxa now considered to be primary synonyms. Linnaeus described two of these (Boa enydris and Boa hortulana) on the same page of the 10th Edition of the Systema Naturae. However, both names had been widely used in literature almost in an optional way, until their formal synonymization more than two centuries after the original description. Additionally, the type specimen of Boa hortulana was reported as missing since the late 19th century. These two factors may have enabled the unjustified switched association of types, which was perpetuated in the literature to the present day. Our main goals here were to trace the correct type specimens for each species through a literature review and specimen examination, and to amend the switched association of type material. We found two specimens in the collection of the Uppsala University that are unmistakably associated with Boa hortulana. Herein we designate one of them as its lectotype in order to promote nomenclatural stability considering its huge phenotypic variability and the future possibility of eventually splitting the species.

Zusammenfassung. Sprache ist ein wichtiger Bestandteil unserer Kultur und ermöglicht den Austausch von Gedanken und Gefühlen sowie die Aneignung von Wissen. Defizite in den sprachlichen Fähigkeiten können sich auf verschiedenen linguistischen Ebenen äußern, was in der Diagnostik von Sprachentwicklungsstörungen berücksichtigt werden sollte. Es folgt ein Überblick zur Symptomatik und zur Untergliederung von Sprachentwicklungsstörungen in den psychiatrischen Klassifikationssystemen DSM-5 und ICD-10. Zusätzlich wird ein Ausblick auf die ICD-11 (Beta-Entwurf) gegeben. Die diagnostischen Klassifikationssysteme werden der Interdisziplinären S2k-Leitlinie gegenübergestellt. Keines der dargestellten Systeme berücksichtigt die einzelnen linguistischen Ebenen der Sprache, wie es in der S2k-Leitlinie gefordert wird. Zudem bestehen deutliche Unterschiede in den Diagnosekriterien. In der Praxis führt dies zu erheblichen Schwierigkeiten in der differenzierten Erfassung von Sprachdefiziten. Die zuverlässige Abklärung einer Sprachentwicklungsstörung erfordert eine umfassende berufsübergreifende Diagnostik. Dafür ist eine eindeutige interdisziplinäre Klassifikation notwendig.

La contamination des eaux naturelles par les micropolluants organiques tels que les herbicides, nécessite le recours à des procédés très performants, en particulier l'adsorption sur charbon actif pour satisfaire aux normes de potabilité sur les eaux distribuées. Si le charbon actif en poudre (CAP) présente une bonne efficacité pour l'élimination des herbicides seuls dans l'eau distillée, la présence dans l'eau d'autres composés organiques et / ou minéraux aura pour conséquence la modification des paramètres de l'équilibre de l'adsorption du système initial et la modification des performances du matériau adsorbant. Cette étude a montré que le CAP utilisé présente une bonne affinité pour les deux herbicides étudiés (atrazine et diuron), dont les capacités d'adsorption, déterminées par le modèle de Langmuir, sont 1,42 et 1,72 mmol.g-1 respectivement. La présence de composés organiques tels que les tensioactifs anionique le dodécylsulfate de sodium (DSS), et cationique le bromure d'hexadécyl triméthyl ammonium (BHTA) provoque une forte diminution de la capacité d'adsorption des deux herbicides par le charbon actif. Le BHTA provoque l'effet le plus marqué, par contre, les ions calcium et bichromate n'ont pas d'influence sur l'adsorption des deux herbicides. Les essais de désorption ont montré que l'introduction des coadsorbats organiques provoque la désorption d'une partie de l'herbicide. Ce phénomène est accentué dans le cas du DSS en présence d'ions calcium. L'application de modèles simples de coadsorption, a permis de mettre en évidence l'existence presque exclusive de sites spécifiques d'adsorption pour chacun des substrats étudiés et une inhibition non compétitive due a une interdépendance possible entre les sites d'adsorption et une altération des interactions de chaque composé à la surface du charbon.

O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o mapeamento de área de cana‑de‑açúcar por meio de série temporal, de seis anos de dados do índice de vegetação por diferença normalizada (NDVI), oriundos do sensor Vegetation, a bordo do satélite "système pour l'observation de la Terre" (SPOT). Três classes de cobertura do solo (cana‑de‑açúcar, pasto e floresta), do Estado de São Paulo, foram selecionadas como assinaturas espectro‑temporais de referência, que serviram como membros extremos ("endmembers") para classificação com o algoritmo "spectral angle mapper" (SAM). A partir desta classificação, o mapeamento da área de cana‑de‑açúcar foi realizado com uso de limiares na imagem-regra do SAM, gerados a partir dos valores dos espectros de referência. Os resultados mostram que o algoritmo SAM pode ser aplicado a séries de dados multitemporais de resolução moderada, o que permite eficiente mapeamento de alvo agrícola em escala mesorregional. Dados oficiais de áreas de cana‑de‑açúcar, para as microrregiões paulistas, apresentam boa correlação (r² = 0,8) com os dados obtidos pelo método avaliado. A aplicação do algoritmo SAM mostrou ser útil em análises temporais. As séries temporais de NDVI do sensor SPOT Vegetation podem ser utilizadas para mapeamento da área de cana‑de‑açúcar em baixa resolução.

Agricultural practices that reduce soil degradation and improve agriculture sustainability are important particularly for dry hilly land of Chaoyang County in the Liaoning Province, North-east China, where cinnamon soils are widely distributed and mainly for wheat production. The impacts of 10-year cropping systems (wheat-cabbage sequential cropping, wheat-corn intercrop, wheat-sunflower rotation, wheat-soybean rotation) on soil enzyme properties of surface-soil (0&ndash;20 cm) were studied. Total carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus and sulfur, and nine soil hydrolases related to nutrient availabilities (&beta;-galactosidase, &alpha;-galactosidase, &beta;-glucosidase, &alpha;-glucosidase, urease, protease, phosphomonoesterase, phosphodiesterase, arylsulphatase) and five enzymes kinetic characters were examined. Wheat-corn intercrop systems had higher total C, total N, total P and total S concentrations than wheat-soybean and wheat-sunflower rotation systems. Most test enzyme activities (&alpha;-galactosidase, &beta;-galactosidase, &alpha;-glucosidase, &beta;-glucosidase, urease, protease, phosphomonoesterase and arylsulphatase) showed the highest activities under wheat-corn intercropping system. Urease, protease and phosphodiesterase activities of wheat-cabbage sequential cropping system were significantly higher than two rotation systems. The maximum reaction rates of enzymes (V<sub>max</sub>) were higher than apparent enzyme activity, which suggests larger potential activity of enzymes, while not all kinetic parameters were adaptive as soil quality indicators in dry hilly cinnamon soil.

Abstract:
The secondary users (SUs) in cognitive radio networks (CRNs) can obtain reliable spectrum sensing information of the primary user (PU) channel using cooperative spectrum sensing (CSS). Multiple SUs share their sensing observations in the CSS system to tackle fading and shadowing conditions. The presence of malicious users (MUs) may pose threats to the performance of CSS due to the reporting of falsified sensing data to the fusion center (FC). Different categories of MUs, such as always yes, always no, always opposite, and random opposite, are widely investigated by researchers. To this end, this paper proposes a hybrid boosted tree algorithm (HBTA)-based solution that combines the differential evolution (DE) and boosted tree algorithm (BTA) to mitigate the effects of MUs in the CSS systems, leading to reliable sensing results. An optimized threshold and coefficient vector, determined against the SUs employing DE, is utilized to train the BTA. The BTA is a robust ensembling machine learning (ML) technique gaining attention in spectrum sensing operations. To show the effectiveness of the proposed scheme, extensive simulations are performed at different levels of signal-to-noise-ratios (SNRs) and with different sensing samples, iteration levels, and population sizes. The simulation results show that more reliable spectrum decisions can be achieved compared to the individual utilization of DE and BTA schemes. Furthermore, the obtained results show the minimum sensing error to be exhibited by the proposed HBTA employing a DE-based solution to train the BTA. Additionally, the proposed scheme is compared with several other CSS schemes such as simple DE, simple BTA, maximum gain combination (MGC), particle swarm optimization (PSO), genetic algorithm (GA), and K-nearest neighbor (KNN) algorithm-based soft decision fusion (SDF) schemes to validate its effectiveness.

The aim of the work was to determine the quantitative, qualitative composition and taxonomic structure of the eubacterial complex in the rhizosphere of sugar beet under different fertilizer systems. Microbiological methods were used to determine the content of microorganisms in the rhizosphere of sugar beet. Molecular methods were used to determine taxonomic structure as well as metagenome of the eubacterial complex of microorganisms. In the agrocenosis of sugar beet under different fertilizer systems the representatives of such families were prevailed as Alcaligenaceae, Pseudomonadaceae, Nitrososphaeraceae, Gaiellaceae, Micrococcaceae, Solirubrobacteraceae, Streptomycetaceae, Intrasporangiaceae, Solimonadaceae, Syntrophobacteraceae, Xanthomonadaceae, Enterobacteriaceae, Nocardioidaceae, Hyphomicrobiaceae, Comamonadaceae. It was found that under the biological system of fertilizers the species diversity of soil microbiota increased due to phyla: Alcaligenaceae, Gaiellaceae, Solirubrobacteraceae, Streptomycetaceae, Solimonadaceae, Syntrophobacteraceae, Xanthomonadaceae, Enterobacteriaceae, Nocardioidaceae, Hyphomicrobiaceae, Hyphomicrobiaceae. It was detected that the basis of the eubacterial complex of sugar beet included representatives of phyla Proteobacteria, Actinobacteria, Gemmatimonadetes, Chloroflexi, Acidobacteria, Firmicutes, Planctomycetes, Verrucomicrobia, Bacteroidetes, and the absolute dominants were Proteobacteria – 76.9%, Actinobacteria – 13,4 %.

Abstract:
A role of reactive C<sub>2</sub>-C<sub>5</sub> α-dicarbonyl and α-hydroxycarbonyl products of sugar fragmentation in the development of antioxidative activity (AOA) was investigated after heating in 0.5M binary aqueous mixtures with amino acids. Several kinetic and activity parameters related to the development of reducing power in the systems with different carbonyl fragments as well as glucose were evaluated and compared. The formation of electrochemically active compounds was correlated with colour development. To assess the antioxidation effects more properly, several different methods were used for AOA evaluation of the systems tested in addition to the HPLC-ECD method. Tests with scavenging of radicals or assays evaluating oxidation in different media (hydrophobic, hydrophilic, emulsions) were employed. Biacetyl was found as by far the most powerful precursor of reducing activity among the fragments tested. The major products possessing reducing power were isolated and characterized revealing dihydroxy dimethylbenzene structures. Based on the comparison of the same concentrations of BHA and a parent carbonyl compound, AOA found by different methods in the most powerful systems is fully comparable with BHA efficiency.

Abstract:
In a four-year period (1997&ndash;2000), selected phytonutrients, of which the beta-glucan content is most important for human health, were studied in caryopses of different types of barley varieties and lines (standard, waxy, hulless) from two cropping systems. It was significantly highest in the waxy variety Washonubet (4.93%). The whole group of waxy types of barley showed a significantly higher mean content of beta-glucans (4.75%) than the varieties with standard starch composition (4.12%), the starch content, however, was significantly higher in standard varieties (61.98%) than in waxy types (60.30%). The hulless varieties, however, had a significantly higher mean starch content (61.73%) than the hulled forms (61.07%) and a significantly higher protein content (13.82% versus 13.00%). The hulless intensive varieties and lines had a significantly higher content of beta-glucans (4.34%) and protein (13.95%) than the hulled intensive varieties (4.07%, 12.65%). Chemical treatment and fertilization increased significantly only the mean content of protein in caryopses (13.77%) compared to the variants with the absence of treatment (13.13%), the content of beta-glucans and starch increased insignificantly (by 0.12% and 0.27%). Years and varieties participated most in the variability of starch content (31.67%, 28.08%), varieties in the content of beta-glucans and protein (per 22%), and (21%) the interaction of varieties and years in the variability of these two nutrients.

Supported by the literature on big data, supply chain management (SCM), and resource-based theory (RBT), this study aims to evaluate the organizational variables that influence the intention of Saudi SCM professionals to adopt big data analytics (BDA) in SCM. A survey of 220 supply chain respondents revealed that both top management support and data-driven culture have a high significant influence on their intention to adopt BDA. However, the firm entrepreneurial orientation showed no significant effect. Also, the findings revealed that supply chain connectivity positively moderates the link between top management support and intention. This study contributes to the practical field, offering valuable insights for decision makers considering BDA adoption in SCM. It also contributes to the literature by helping minimize the research gap in BDA adoption in the Saudi context.

Konkret handelt es sich um messtechnische und simulationsbasierte Ansätze zur Identifikation von thermomechanischen Prozesszuständen beim BTA- und ELB-Verfahren. Hierbei werden Möglichkeiten zur Gewinnung von Prozessdaten sowohl mit einer in-situ eingesetzten Sensorik als auch mit begleitend durchgeführten FEM-Simulationen betrachtet. Diese Daten bilden die Grundlage einer Prozessregelung für die beiden Tiefbohrverfahren. Im zweiten Teil werden nun die Arbeiten und Ergebnisse zum ELB-Tiefbohren behandelt. &nbsp; The article deals with aspects of developing methods specifically for surface conditioning in deep hole drilling parallel to machining. This involves metrological and simulation-based approaches for identifying thermo-mechanical process conditions in both BTA and ELB process. Ways for obtaining process data both with sensor technology used in-situ and with FEM simulations performed concomitantly are investigated. These data form the basis of a deep hole process control. The second part presents the work and the results on single lip deep hole drilling.

There is no denying that Bioinformatics is one of the most important realms for our forthcoming development. As a demonstration of this fact, a plethora of new algorithms that were published over the last decade. Those significantly boost up the processes of biological analysis, especially for DNA alignment. Despite their undeniable contributions, it is still far more to state that DNA alignment has already achieved the ideal performance. In this work, we focus on the DNA alignment system which is based on our improved BWA-MEM algorithm that we have already published. Besides that, we also propose some optimization methods which was applied in order to improve the performance as well as the stability of our entire system. The system offers a speed-up by 46.52x when compared with the other computing platforms.

The objective of the paper was to verify the convenience of the application of three standardized detection systems: disk diffusion method, Delvotest SP and Penzym S 100 to control the antibiotic residues in goat&rsquo;s milk (&beta;-lactam antibiotics and cephalosporins, aminoglycosides, tetracyclines, macrolides and others). It has been found that despite of certain specificity of goat&rsquo;s milk versus cow&rsquo;s milk the values of the majority of detection limits mutually correspond approximately to 90 %. The sensitivity of tests manifested itself in the following order: Penzym S 100 &gt; Delvotest SP &gt; disk diffusion method (the sensitivity was even several times lower). Inasmuch as the treatment of mastitis is carried out by using &beta;-lactam antibiotics and cephalosporins, the above-indicated rapid methods (especially Penzym S 100 and Delvotest SP) can be recommended for the routine purposes of accomplishing a rapid hygienic control of goat&rsquo;s milk.

This paper investigates experimentally the correlation between the cutting fluid pressure distribution in the bottom clearance (the space enclosed by the bottom of the hole being drilled from one side and the flanks of the drill head from the other) and the flank wear of BTA drills. Two types of BTA drills were studied representing two basic drill designs in the current use: single- and multi-edge drilling heads. Experiments included the study of the bottom clearance topology, the measurements of the cutting fluid pressure distribution in the bottom clearance, and the study of the tool wear topology. The results reveal the notable correlation between the cutting fluid pressure distribution in the bottom clearance and the topography of tool wear.

AbstractThe receptive-field profile of the cone in cat retina was computed. The computation was based on (1) the known anatomical circuit connecting cones via narrow-field bipolar cells to the on-beta ganglion cell; (2) the known physiological receptive-field profile of the on-beta (X) cell at the corresponding eccentricity; and (3) a model in which the beta receptive field arises by linear superposition of cone receptive fields. The computed cone receptive field has a center/surround organization with a center almost as broad as that of the beta cell center. The cone surround is comparably broad to that of the beta cell but somewhat lower in peak amplitude. The problems to which the center/surround receptive field are the solution, namely, signal compression and noise reduction, apparently must be solved before the first synapse of the visual pathway.

Les ouvrages de filtration végétalisés pour la gestion à la source des eaux pluviales, appelés à l’international des ouvrages de biofiltration, de biorétention ou vegetative filter strips, visent la maîtrise du flux polluant associé aux eaux pluviales urbaines. Ces ouvrages permettent le stockage, la fltration au travers d’un substrat planté et éventuellement l’infiltration de l’eau. L’efficacité épuratoire a été évaluée in situ pour deux systèmes de biofiltration, un accotement filtrant et une noue filtrante, pour un panel diversifié de polluants. Ce panel comprend des éléments traces métalliques (ETM) et des micropolluants organiques – des hydrocarbures aromatiques polycycliques (HAP), des alkylphénols, le bisphénol A (BPA), des phtalates – dans les phases totales et dissoutes. Les polluants essentiellement associés à la phase particulaire (Pb, Zn et HAP) étaient très bien retenus dans les ouvrages (abattements de concentration ›90%) pour la majorité des événements pluvieux. Cependant, une performance dégradée a été observée vis-à-vis des particules pendant la période hivernale, ce qui a été attribué à la taille plus fne des particules pendant cette période. Les abattements des concentrations dissoutes étaient rarement significatifs et tendaient à être bien plus faibles que ceux observés pour les matières en suspension (MES) et les polluants présents sous forme particulaire. De ce fait, des rétentions relativement faibles étaient observées pour les concentrations totales en polluants modérément particulaires, tels que le BPA, les alkylphénols et les phtalates. La rétention des ETM dissous semble avoir été limitée par leur association à la matière organique dissoute, alors que celle des micropolluants organiques dissous était limitée essentiellement par la contamination initiale du substrat filtrant ou par des émissions depuis les matériaux synthétiques de construction. À l’échelle annuelle, la noue filtrante dans sa configuration finale abattait entre 33 et 81% du flux polluant en fonction des polluants.

An approach to study the whirling motion of the BTA (boring trepanning association) deep hole boring system is presented by introducing the system excitation in the form of internal forces between the boring bar and the workpiece. This involves nonhomogeneous boundary conditions with homogeneous equations. The mathematical approach with the boring bar-workpiece internal cutting forces and external suppression forces will transform the problem into nonhomogeneous equations with homogenous boundary conditions. Using this approach the whirling motion of the boring bar is obtained at different points on the boring bar-workpiece assembly. External suppression forces will reduce the whirl amplitude at the same locations. Further, an experimental investigation is carried out on the BTA deep hole boring process while drilling at four cutting speeds using proximity pickups for displacement measurements.

This paper represents a contribution to the empirical literature on systematic risk at a sectoral level in an emerging market, the Mexican Stock Market, incorporating all the available information of the different asset quoted prices for the beta calculation. We estimate the fuzzy beta coefficients for individual stocks as well as for sectoral indices comparing the results with OLS beta coefficients. Then, we contrast if the fuzzy estimations verify two hypothesis of the traditional portfolio theory, specifically those related to the influence of the number of stocks and the length of estimation period over beta stability. The methodology used to calculate the fuzzy beta coefficients is the fuzzy linear regression. The results suggest that, in the Mexican Stock Market, hypotheses of the portfolio theory are also verified when the return of the portfolio is considered as an uncertain data.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to provide an insight about factors affecting Big Data Analytics (BDA) utilization and adoption in Indian firms. Research studies have so far focused on BDA adoption in developed economies. This study examines the factors that influence BDA usage and adoption in the context of emerging economies. Design/methodology/approach This study proposed a theoretical model of factors influencing BDA utilization and adoption. Two independent research streams – first, the top managers’ perceived strategic value (PSV) in BDA and second, the factors that influence the adoption of BDA theoretically – have been integrated with the technology-organization-environment (TOE) framework. In the BDA context, there was a theoretical necessity to identify the driver and barriers of BDA from the TOE framework on PSV and adoption of BDA. A qualitative exploratory study using face-to-face semi-structured interviews was carried out to collect data from 22 different enterprises and service providers in India. India was selected as the context as it is one of the fastest growing large economies of the world with huge potential of BDA to improve the business landscape. Findings The results showed that the major reason behind BDA non-adoption is that the organizations did not realize the strategic value (SV) of BDA, and they were not ready to make the changes because of technological, organizational and environmental difficulties. The findings corroborate previous results about significant factors affecting IT adoption and implementation and provide new and interesting insights. The main factors identified as playing a significant role in organizations’ adoption of BDA were SV of BDA, complexity, compatibility, IT assets, top management support, organization data environment, perceived costs, external pressure and industry type. Research limitations/implications The main limitation related to this study is the difficulty in generalizing the findings to a larger population of enterprises. To overcome this, a statistical survey has been planned to be conducted in the future. Practical implications The BDA adoption model in this study will have both managerial implications for practitioners in India, as well as those in other developing countries, and academic implications for researchers who are interested in BDA adoption in developing counties, in terms of formulating better strategies for BDA adoption. For managers, using the research model of this study could assist in increasing their understanding of why some organizations choose to adopt BDA, while similar ones facing similar conditions do not. Also, the understanding of the strategic utilization of BDA in different business processes may improve the adoption of BDA in organizations. Originality/value This paper contributes in exploring and enhancing the understanding of the factors affecting the utilization and adoption of BDA in organizations from an Indian perspective. This study is an attempt to develop and explore a BDA adoption model by the fusion of PSV and TOE framework. The effect of the three contexts of this framework (technological, organizational and environmental) on the strategic utilization of BDA has been studied for the first time.

L’association Santé Mentale en Afrique de l’Ouest (SMAO) a noué un partenariat depuis 2012 avec l’ONG béninoise Saint-Camille de Lellis (SCL). Celle-ci se bat pour changer la condition des personnes souffrant de troubles psychiques (dont la schizophrénie) en Afrique Sub-Saharienne et développe notamment un réseau de centres relais de santé mentale au Bénin, permettant une prise en charge précoce. Ce modèle d’organisation sanitaire est adapté à la réalité du terrain et conforme au plan d’action pour la santé mentale 2013-2020 de l’Organisation mondiale de la santé (OMS). La condition de personnes souffrantes de schizophrénie au Bénin ainsi que leur prise en charge seront illustrées par de courtes vidéos. Un programme de formation d’agents de santé communautaires (infirmiers de soins généraux) est mis en place sur 3 années. Le but est de les former à la pratique psychiatrique, pour qu’ils puissent ensuite accueillir les personnes concernées. Désenchaînées, ramenées à leur condition humaine, elles sont prises en charge médicalement dans le but de soulager leurs souffrances et celles de leurs familles. En période de crise, elles peuvent être revues rapidement en consultation au centre relais. Ce système, en offrant une alternative à l’hospitalisation (option par ailleurs souvent inexistante), permet aux patients et aux familles l’accès aux soins à moindre coût. Parallèlement, l’action tend à réinsérer la personne dans sa communauté. On peut espérer que ce réseau se généralise au Bénin, avec des centres relais répartis équitablement sur tout le territoire. Il apparaît cependant nécessaire d’imaginer des aides plus importantes, notamment pour l’achat des traitements psychotropes. Quand la communauté internationale va-t-elle se mobiliser pour cet enjeu majeur de santé publique, comme elle a pu le faire dans le champ infectieux avec les trithérapies anti-VIH ?

Service composition based on diverse QoS requirements is a multi-objective optimization problem. Meta-heuristic techniques such as genetic algorithm (GA), particle swarm optimization (PSO), and variants of PSO have been extensively used for solving multi-objective optimization problems. The efficiency of any such meta-heuristic techniques lies with their rate of convergence and execution time. This article evaluates the efficiency of BAT and Hybrid BAT algorithms against the existing GA and Discrete PSO techniques in the context of service selection problems. The proposed algorithms are tested on the QWS data set to select the best fit services in terms of maximum aggregated end-to-end QoS parameters. Hybrid BAT is found to be efficient for service composition.

Beta distributions have been applied in a variety of fields in part due to its similarity to the normal distribution while allowing for a larger flexibility of skewness and kurtosis coverage when compared to the normal distribution. In spite of these advantages, the two-sided power (TSP) distribution was presented as an alternative to the beta distribution to address some of its short-comings, such as not possessing a cumulative density function (cdf) in a closed form and a difficulty with the interpretation of its parameters. The introduction of the biparabolic distribution and its generalization in this paper may be thought of in the same vein. Similar to the TSP distribution, the generalized biparabolic (GBP) distribution also possesses a closed form cdf, but contrary to the TSP distribution its density function is smooth at the mode. We shall demonstrate, using a moment ratio diagram comparison, that the GBP distribution provides for a larger flexibility in skewness and kurtosis coverage than the beta distribution when restricted to the unimodal domain. A detailed mean-variance comparison of GBP, beta and TSP distributions is presented in a Project Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) context. Finally, we shall fit a GBP distribution to an example of financial European stock data and demonstrate a favorable fit of the GBP distribution compared to other distributions that have traditionally been used in that field, including the beta distribution.
