La présente étude consiste à tester les potentialités d'un hélophyte : le roseau (Arundo donax) à épurer une eau usée urbaine sous un climat aride. Le pilote expérimental est constitué de bacs de 115 litres de capacité, remplis sur une épaisseur de 5 cm de gravier et de 30 cm de sol (texture : limono-argilo-sableuse). Deux bacs sont plantés de jeunes tiges de roseaux. Deux autres bacs non plantés sont pris comme témoins. L'alimentation du système se fait exclusivement par des eaux usées urbaines en bâchées de 25 litres/jour et ce avec une fréquence régulière d'une fois par semaine. L'écoulement se fait par translation verticale à travers le substrat. L'eau de percolation est récupérée au moyen d'un drain placé à la base de chaque bac. L'étude du fonctionnement hydrologique des pilotes testés, a montré que le débit moyen à la sortie du lit planté (254 ml/min) est cinq fois plus élevé par rapport au lit non planté (51 ml/min). Ce qui permet soit de traiter un volume d'eau usée plus important ou bien de réduire la superficie nécessaire par équivalent habitant. En plus, il apparaît que la présence du roseau aide d'une part à prévenir le colmatage qui est un problème fréquent dans le sol non planté et d'autre part de maintenir une porosité suffisante pour assurer la percolation des eaux en traitement. Le suivi des performances épuratoires du système à roseau montre que ce dernier assure une élimination importante de la charge organique (MES : 91%, DCO : 72%). Il fournit des eaux épurées claires et limpides. Ces résultats sont comparables à ceux du sol non planté. La réduction de NTK est de l'ordre de 53% pour le lit planté contre 41% pour le sol nu. En général, le lit planté est plus efficace dans l'élimination de l'azote. Concernant l'élimination des ions ammoniums, le taux d'abattement moyen pour le lit planté est de 24%. Le sol non planté présente une surcharge de l'effluent à la sortie en ammonium (-17%). Le phosphore total et les orthophosphates subissent globalement un faible abattement avec des phases de relargage et d'autres d'abattement. L'abattement moyen obtenu par le système planté ne dépasse pas 28% et 10% respectivement pour le PT et les PO4. Dans le système non planté, il se produit un relargage de phosphore qui se maintient sur une longue période durant la 1ère année et qui se répète également en 2ème année de fonctionnement avec une intensité moins importante. L'abattement moyen obtenu est de -8% et -33% respectivement pour le PT et les PO4. En tenant compte des pertes d'eau par évapotranspiration, la correction effectuée a montré une nette amélioration des performances épuratoires surtout pour le sol planté où les pertes de volume sont considérables. Dans ce cas l'abattement moyen obtenu pour le lit planté est de 68%, 48%, 52% et 39% respectivement pour NTK, NH4, PT et PO4. Pour le sol non planté, les abattements sont plus faibles (NTK : 51%, NH4 : 3%, PT : 12%, PO4 : -8%). La présence du roseau dans le système planté assure donc une nette amélioration de l'abattement de la charge organique et des nutriments par rapport au sol nu. Cette amélioration est faible (3 à 7%) pour la DCO et les MES, par contre pour les nutriments, elle est beaucoup plus importante (17 à 48%). Concernant la charge parasitaire, les deux systèmes planté et non planté, assurent une élimination totale des œufs d'helminthes parasites. Pour les kystes de protozoaires, le système planté assure une réduction de 99,8%. Avec l'épaisseur du substrat testée, les risques de détecter des kystes de protozoaires à la sortie des systèmes plantés est à appréhender. Selon la norme de l'OMS, l'effluent de sortie du système est classé en catégorie B. Le roseau produit une biomasse importante qui atteint 176,5 tonnes/ha. La biomasse aérienne facilement éliminée par faucardage est de 85,3 T/ha. Le taux d'azote et de phosphore exporté avec cette biomasse atteint 98,54 et 4,15 g/m2 respectivement. Ces taux retenus au niveau des parties aériennes représentent 12% de la charge reçue par le système en azote et 3% de la charge reçue en phosphore.

L’objectif de cet article est de présenter les difficultés formelles concernant la traduction automatique des adverbes de l’espagnol (ES) vers le portugais (PT). Nous ne nous intéressons pas directement aux questions d’implémentation, notre but étant de trouver les clés qu’il est nécessaire d’inclure dans un module de transfert ES>PT pour qu’un système de traduction automatique ou assisté puisse choisir, parmi les équivalents donnés, la meilleure traduction. Nous prenons appui sur le dictionnaire des adverbes composés de l’espagnol (Català, 2003) et celui de Palma (2009) et aussi sur une base de données relationnelle contenant les équivalences entre les expressions des deux langues. Notre approche consiste à décrire pour chaque adverbe de l’espagnol ses équivalents portugais. Pour la sélection des expressions équivalentes, nous nous sommes efforcés, autant que possible, de maintenir les correspondances lexicales et structurelles, mais en prenant compte aussi d’autres informations (diasystématiques, diachroniques, diafréquentatives oudiastratiques), quand elles sont disponibles. Pour la validation empirique de ces ressources, nous avons utilisé un corpus de textes extraits des éditions web de journaux espagnols.

Há um debate na ciência política brasileira sobre a bipolarização do sistema partidário, decorrente da concentração da competição, nas eleições presidenciais, em dois partidos: PT e PSDB. O objetivo do artigo é identificar o conteúdo e os termos da competição entre tais partidos no que se refere às suas ênfases temáticas, através da comparação entre os programas de governo de cada um para as eleições presidenciais de 2006 a 2014. A hipótese, derivada da saliency theory, é de que a competição entre eles se baseia na seleção de temas específicos e agendas alternativas. O método utilizado para mensuração das agendas e preferências é a análise de conteúdo, com aplicação das categorias do Manifest Research Group/MARPOR. La violence constitue une problématique importante dans notre système de soins. Cette violence est un phénomène complexe qui résulte de l’intrication de plusieurs facteurs étiologiques, variant selon le type de violence rencontré. L’objectif de ce travail était d’identifier des facteurs en lien avec la survenue d’évènements violents dans les soins hospitaliers, le vécu des soignants et leurs impacts. La méthode comportait une enquête transversale, multicentrique (CHU de Toulouse et Poitiers), multi-sites (urgences psychiatriques et somatiques, services fermés de psychiatrie) auprès des personnels volontaires infirmiers et aides soignants. L’auto-questionnaire comportait les caractéristiques individuelles des soignants, dont l’échelle MBI (évaluation de l’épuisement professionnel), les variables d’organisation du travail (score de Pression Temporelle, score d’Incertitude validés par Presst-Next), la partie interactionnelle dont l’échelle IRI d’empathie. L’analyse descriptive et comparative des données selon le niveau de violence précédait une régression logistique du risque de violence déclarée en fonction des variables indépendantes retenues. Le taux de réponse était de 58,1 %, 150 questionnaires furent validés et traités. Les résultats révèlent que la fréquence de confrontation à la violence et le sentiment d’insécurité au travail sont élevés chez les soignants interrogés. L’épuisement professionnel, la pression temporelle, les horaires de travail sont associés à une violence élevée. La dimension cognitive PT (Prise de perspective) de l’empathie est associée à une réduction du risque de violence déclarée. Ces résultats révèlent ainsi que l’empathie dans les soins prévient la survenue d’évènements de violence. En revanche, la pression au travail, l’épuisement professionnel et la sympathie semblent constituer des facteurs de risque par l’altération de la relation soignants-soignés.ConclusionCes résultats suggèrent la nécessité d’améliorer les conditions de travail, de prévenir l’apparition d’un épuisement professionnel et de préserver l’empathie clinique chez les soignants. Ces actions pourraient contribuer à prévenir la violence interactionnelle dans les soins par l’amélioration de la relation thérapeutique.

Background:Sjögren’s syndrome (SS) is a chronic, systemic autoimmune disorder characterised by oral and ocular dryness related to lymphocytic infiltration of exocrine glands.1–3 Extra-glandular manifestations may include fatigue, musculoskeletal pain and glomerulonephritis.1,3 SS can present as primary SS (pSS) or as SS associated with another autoimmune disorder (SS+AID).1 Reported prevalence of pSS in the French general population is 1.02–1.52 cases/10,000 people.3Objectives:To estimate prevalence, incidence and healthcare costs of SS in France using national health insurance claims data.Methods:Claims from 2011–2018 from the Système National des Données de Santé (SNDS), comprised of data from 99% of the French population, were analysed. Patients (pts) with SS were identified using an algorithm.4 Inclusion criteria: International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision code M35.0 (Sicca syndrome [Sjögren]) or M35 (other systemic involvement of connective tissue), and ≥2 drug reimbursements for SS-related treatments. Key exclusion criteria: amyloidosis, sarcoidosis, HIV, and head and neck radiotherapy. Denominators for estimated prevalence rates were derived from French population census data. Healthcare costs were based on Assurance Maladie rates.Results:23,152 pts with pSS and 15,462 with SS+AID were identified during the study period. Estimated prevalence of SS (2011–2018) per 100,000 persons ranged from 22–32 (pSS) and 17–22 (SS+AID) and was stable over time; proportion of female pts was 90–91% (pSS) and 92–93% (SS+AID); mean age ranged from 63–66 (pSS) and 58–63 (SS+AID) years. Estimated incidence of SS (2012–2018) per 100,000 persons ranged from 4.1–0.3 (pSS) and 2.1–0.1 (SS+AID); proportion of female pts was 76–87% (pSS) and 74–90% (SS+AID); mean age ranged from 53–64 (pSS) and 50–62 (SS+AID) years. RA was the most frequently associated autoimmune disorder (32%) in pts with SS+AID. In the first year, artificial tears was the most frequently reimbursed drug (66% [pSS], 55% [SS+AID]), followed by hydroxychloroquine (19% [pSS], 35% [SS+AID]). From 2014–2018, ~30% of men and ~22% of women with pSS reported no drug reimbursement; ~20% of men and ~15% of women with SS+AID reported no drug reimbursement during the same time frame. From 2013–2018, ~50% of all pts had consultations with a dentist or an ophthalmologist. Mean healthcare costs increased over the study period: from €5836 to €9618 (pSS) and €8905 to €13,271 (SS+AID). Pt characteristics and healthcare consumption data are presented (Table 1).Conclusion:Prevalence of pSS in this French claims data study was stable over time and consistent with previous reports.3 Based on these results, SS may be considered an orphan disease. L’étude menée sur le système Mo-Pt-Si vise à contribuer à la connaissance d’alliages métalliques complexes destinés à des applications à hautes températures rencontrées dans les industries aéronautiques ou verrières. Sa description d’un point de vue thermodynamique est rendu difficile par son caractère réfractaire lié à la présence du molybdène d’une part et à sa complexité due au nombre élevé de ses constituants (3 éléments) d’autre part. Seule une approche du problème par une modélisation thermodynamique de type CALPHAD permet d’aboutir à un résultat significatif. Comme l’impose l’établissement d’une modélisation d’un système ternaire, à savoir l’étude préalable des trois bordures binaires, le premier volet de ce travail a été consacré à l’étude des systèmes Pt-Si, Mo-Pt et Mo-Si. Parallèlement au travail d’optimisation, des mesures expérimentales réalisées dans le cadre de cette étude (radiocristallographie, analyse thermique, microsonde,….) ont permis de déterminer les équilibres entre phases, les enthalpies de formation des différents composés intermétalliques ainsi que les mécanismes structuraux responsables des grands domaines de stabilité observés pour certaines phases. La première approche du système ternaire Mo-Pt-Si, obtenue à partir de la banque de données intégrant les optimisations binaires, a permis de cibler et interpréter des expériences de contrôles des équilibres entre phases en condition isotherme et anisotherme. Un nouveau siliciure ternaire a ainsi été découvert et pris en compte dans le calcul. Enfin, à travers de nombreux exemples nous montrons la cohérence de la modélisation avec l’ensemble des données expérimentales<br>The study on the Mo-Pt-Si system contributes to the knowledge of complex metal alloy, which are intended for applications at high temperatures in the aerospace or glass industries. Its thermodynamic description is difficult because its refractory character related to the presence of the molybdenum and to its complexity due to the high number of the constituents (3 elements). Only an approach of problem by a modelling thermodynamics of CALPHAD type gives to a significant result. As imposes the establishment of a modelling of a ternary system by the study of three binary borders, the first part of this work was devoted to the study of Pt-Si, Mo-Pt and Mo-Si systems. Along with the optimization, an experimental measurements used in this study (X-ray, thermal analysis, microprobe,….) allowed to determine the equilibria phases, the enthalpies of formation of the various intermetallic compounds as well as the structural mechanisms responsible for large domains of stability observed for some phases. The first approach of the Mo-Pt-Si ternary system obtained from the database including the binary optimisations, allowed to interpret the experiments of controls of equilibria phases in isotherm and anisotherm conditions. A new ternary silicide was discovered and took into account in calculation. Finally, through many examples we show the agreement of the modelling with all experimental data

La synthèse de nanoparticules de métaux nobles (Au, Pd, Pt) utilisées comme catalyseurs peut être réalisée par oxydation d'un alliage métallique précurseur (brevet SYMME : US Patent US-0298683-A1 2009). Dans cette perspective, l'objectif du travail de thèse était d'établir le diagramme d'équilibres entre phases du système Ce-Pt en vue d'optimiser le procédé de fabrication de nanocomposites Pt/CeO2. Il s'agissait d'identifier les composés intermétalliques présents dans le système, de déterminer leur type de formation, de définir les équilibres solide-liquide, qui constituent des données indispensables pour la préparation des précurseurs métalliques. Ce travail constitue une avancée importante dans l'étude thermodynamique et structurale du système Ce-Pt. Il a conduit à une nouvelle version du diagramme d'équilibres entre phases. L'existence des six composés qui avaient déjà été rapportés dans les études antérieures a été confirmée et trois nouvelles phases ont été découvertes ; deux du coté riche en Ce, Ce5Pt3 et Ce5Pt4, et une du coté riche en platine (~82 % at. Pt). Les types de formation et l'étendue des domaines d'homogénéité des composés du système ont tous été déterminés. La plupart des structures cristallines des composés ont été précisées. Ces résultats ont été obtenus en suivant une méthodologie spécifique, en confrontant les résultats tirés de diverses méthodes d'analyse complémentaires : ATD/TG, DRX sur poudre et sur monocristal, métallographies optique et électronique. Ce travail offre différentes perspectives d'application. Il ouvre la voie vers la modélisation thermodynamique des diagrammes de phases, du système Ce-Pt lui-même et de systèmes d'ordre supérieur. Du point de vue des applications, il apporte des données indispensables pour la synthèse de catalyseurs supportés sur oxydes mixtes (ZrO2-CeO2) à base d'or et de platine, ouvrant la voie vers la préparation de nouvelles formulations pour lesquelles des propriétés en rupture avec celles des catalyseurs conventionnels sont attendues.

Afin de répondre à ces diverses questions, nous adoptons une approche semi-empirique à travers un potentiel à $N$-corps, permettant les relaxations atomiques, dans l'approximation du second moment de la densité d'états (SMA), couplé à des simulations Monte Carlo dans différents ensembles. Des agrégats de différentes tailles (allant de 1000 à 10000 atomes) et de différentes morphologies (octaèdre tronqué, décaèdre, ou icosaèdre) sont analysés en terme de composition chimique sur les différents sites inéquivalents (sommet, arête, facettes (100) et (111) et coeur) puis comparés aux systèmes de référence (surfaces, volume) sur toute la gamme de concentration. Pour le système Co-Pt, nous observons des structures ordonnées similaires à celles du volume pour le coeur et similaires à celles des surfaces pour les facettes. L'impact de la phase bidimensionnelle (√3×√3)R30◦ propre à la surface, est d'autant plus important sur l'ordre chimique au coeur que la nanoparticule est de petite taille. Pour le système Pt-Ag, nous observons une importante ségrégation de l'Ag en surface, ainsi qu'un enrichissement de Pt en sous-surface, et la stabilisation de la phase ordonnée L1$_{1}$ au coeur. Cette structure peut apparaître en un seul variant ou bien en adoptant tous les variants possibles, conduisant ainsi à une structure en pelures d'oignon<br>Due to the correlation between atomic arrangement and physical properties, ordered nanoalloys are particularly interesting in the field of catalysis, magnetism, or optics. By reducing the system size, from alloy to nanoalloy, a lot of questions arise: Is chemical ordering conserved? What is the morphology of nanoalloys? What is the properties evolution as a size function? Is there a coupling between segregation and core ordering? This thesis is dedicated to two systems: Co-Pt, a typical example of ordering and Pt-Ag, hybrid system between ordering and demixion. To answer these questions, we performed Monte Carlo simulations in different ensembles with semi-empirical many-body potential within the Second Moment Approximation (SMA) of the density of states which allows atomic relaxations. Nanoparticles of different sizes (from 1000 to 10000 atoms) and shapes (truncated octahedra, decahedra, or icosahedra) are analyzed considering chemical composition on each site (vertex, edge, (111) and (100) facets and core) and compared to reference systems (surfaces and bulk) on the whole range of composition. For Co-Pt, we get ordered structures similar to the bulk ones and similar to surfaces for facets. The bidimensional phase (√3×√3)R30◦, purely due to surface effect, impacts core ordering, even more for small clusters. For Pt-Ag, we get a strong Ag segregation on surface coupled with a Pt sub-surface enrichment, and a stable L1$_{1}$ phase in the core. This ordered structure may appear with a single variant or with multiple variants, leading to an onion-like structure

Un des challenges actuels dans le domaine de la spintronique est son extension vers des systèmes dits de nanospintronique, où les dimensions sont réduites à l’échelle du nanomètre, avec comme système modèle un nano-aimant unique. La découverte de nouveaux moyens pour contrôler l’aimantation dans ces nano-aimants, pourrait avoir des applications pour les technologies de l’information. Dans le cadre de cette thèse nous nous sommes intéressés plus particulièrement aux nouveaux effets liés à l’accumulation de charges électriques au sein de films magnétiques ultraminces, aussi appelés effets de champ électrique. Nous avons étudié l’effet de l’application d’un champ électrique sur les différents paramètres magnétiques propres à nos films, via des mesures de magnéto-transport et magnéto-optique. Ces mesures ont été conduites sur une tri-couche de Pt/Co/AlOx présentant un gradient d’oxydation pour l’alumine. L’oxydation de cette interface étant contrôlée à l’échelle nanométrique, une large gamme de paramètres magnétiques est donc accessible au sein d’un seul et même échantillon. Ceci représente un très bon outil d’étude pour les différents phénomènes intervenant dans ces tri-couches. La caractérisation fine de ces échantillons a permis de mettre en évidence une zone pour laquelle des propriétés très intéressantes ont été observées (domaines spontanément désaimantés, bulles skyrmioniques). La proximité de la température de Curie (Tc) de cette zone avec la température de mesure (ambiante) en est la cause principale. Ces bulles skyrmioniques font actuellement l’objet de beaucoup de recherche au niveau national et international, étant considérées comme potentiellement très attractives pour des applications de type mémoire et logique magnétique. L’originalité de ce travail de thèse a été de montrer que ces bulles skyrmioniques sont fortement influencées par le champ électrique, dû au fort contrôle des propriétés magnétiques de cette zone (anisotropie, champ coercitif, aimantation à saturation, facteur DMI). Nous proposons le design d’un interrupteur nanométrique permettant de créer ou effacer ces bulles skyrmioniques grâce à un champ électrique, levant ainsi un verrou important pour la mémoire/logique magnétique basée sur ces bulles skyrmioniques. La potentialité de ces nouveaux effets pour réaliser un renversement ’aimantation/une création de bulles skyrmioniques, assistés par champ électrique, a été étudiée à des plages de températures et d’anisotropies adaptées pour ces applications (température ambiante)<br>A current challenge in the field of spintronics is the development of functional nanospintronics systems, in which the dimensions of the device are confined to the nanometer scale. The model system is called a single nano-magnet. New possible routes to control its magnetisation could be useful for many applications, in particular, those in the area of information technology. During this PhD, we chose to study the particular effects that are linked to the electric charge accumulation in the nano-magnet. This effect, also known as the electric field effect, were studied on the different magnetic properties of our films. They were probed by magneto-transport and magnetooptical measurements. These measurements were conducted on asymmetric Pt/Co/AlOx trilayers. These structures were sputter-deposited on a wedge shape for the alumina. This leadingto a nanometric control of the oxidation degree of the interface. Then, a wide range of magnetic parameters is available on a unique sample. Systematic caracterization of these structures showed an interesting zone for magnetic properties (spontaneous striped domains, skyrmionic bubbles). The observation of this type of magnetic object is directly linked to the weak Curie temperature(Tc) of this zone (close to room temperature. Skyrmionic bubbles are subject to lots of international studies. They are potentially attractive for memories or logic devices development. The key result of this PhD was to show the strong dependence of magnetic skymionic bubbles with electric field application. The full electrical switch of these objects has been achieved, due to the strong electrical control of the different magnetic properties. To induce electric-field assisted magnetisation reversal/skyrmionic bubbles nucleation, studies were performed for an adapted range of temperatures and anisotropies (room temperature)

L'objectif de ce travail était d'étudier de manière approfondie l'effet de l'indium dans des catalyseurs trimétalliques de reformage catalytique à base de platine, étain et indium. Des catalyseurs ont ainsi été synthétisés selon différents protocoles de préparation et de multiples caractérisations (spectroscopies Mössbauer d'étain, XANES, EXAFS, IR-CO, MEBT, chimisportion du CO, TPR et TPD) ont été mises en oeuvre afin d'élucider l'impact de l'indium sur la nature des phases métalliques présentes au sein du catalyseur. Il a ainsi été montré que la nature des sites métalliques dépend de la méthode d'introduction de l'indium. Quand l'indium est précipité avec la source d'alumine des alliages de type PtxSn sont obtenus alors que lorsque les métaux sont imprégnés sur la surface de l'alumine des espèces subsitutionnelles Pt-Sn sont formées. Il a aussi été montré que l'augmentation de la teneur en indium entraine une augmentation de la concentration atomique d'étain dans les alliage PtxSn et un remplacement de l'étain par l'indium dans les espèces substitutionnelles. Nous avons également réussi à préparer des catalyseurs avec des quantités élevées d'alliage Pt3Sn sur la base des connaissances acquises sur l'impact de l'indium et en déposant l'étain par une réaction organométallique contrôlée de surface. D'un point de vue catalytique, les tests de reformage du n-heptane mettent en évidence l'impact positif de l'indium puisque les catalyseurs à base de Pt-Sn-In sont moins sélectifs pour les réactions parasites d'hydrogénolyse et d'hydrocraquage et plus sélectifs pour l'isomérisation que les catalyseurs à base de Pt-Sn<br>This work consists of a detailed study on the effect of indium in alumina supported trimetallic PtSnIn-based naphtha reforming catalysts. These catalysts were reproduced using different preparation protocols and the indium effect was investigated using 119Sn Mössbauer spectroscopy, XANES, EXAFS spectroscopies, IR-CO, STEM, CO chemisorption, TPR and TPD. It appears that the nature of the metallic active centres depends on the method with which indium was introduced. When co-precipitating the indium precursor with the Al source, PtxSn alloys were formed, whereas when metals were impregnated on the surface, substitutional Pt-Sn alloys were observed. Increasing the In content in the frst type of catalysts leads to an increase in the Sn concentration in PtxSn alloys, whereas a gradual replacement of Sn by indium in susbstitutinal alloys is observed in the second type of catalysts. These results allowed preparing catalysts with high Pt3Sn alloy contents using the effect of indium in catalysts prepared by Sn organometallic controlled surface reactions (CSR). From a catalytic point of view, n-heptane reforming tests show that trimetallic PtSnIn-based catalysts are less selective to hydrogenolysis and hydrocracking reactions, and highly selective to isomerisation, compared to the bimetallic PtSn-based catalyst

La thèse porte sur l’élaboration et l’étude de couches nanométriques allant de Pt/Co/Pt à Pt/Co/oxyde et Pt/Co/métal lourd. Ces couches pourront faire partie du cœur magnétique de dispositifs spintroniques. Une anisotropie magnétique perpendiculaire (PMA) est requise. L’objectif est de modifier et contrôler la PMA et de manipuler l’aimantation, par un champ magnétique et aussi par tout autre moyen tel que la lumière, la contrainte ou le courant. Une part importante du travail concerne la mise en place de plusieurs plateformes de croissance (pulvérisation cathodique), de traitement (irradiation ionique) et de caractérisation (magnéto-optique Kerr), travail auquel j’ai contribué ou que j’ai dirigé. La PMA de couches de Co a été obtenue sur substrats rigides et souples, propices pour des applications. La modification de la PMA a été étudiée en variant les couches tampon et de couverture. Une modulation réversible de la PMA a été réalisée par le biais de la transition de phases d’une couche tampon de VO2. Dans des couches Pt/Co/oxyde et Pt/Co/métal lourd, la propagation de parois de domaines magnétiques a été analysée par microscopie Kerr sous impulsions magnétiques perpendiculaire et transverse, afin de sonder des effets d’interface. La propagation non-isotrope de parois de domaine en présence d’un champ magnétique transverse révèle une texture d’aimantations chirale compatible avec l'interaction Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya. Cela suggère que des couches ultraminces (< 1 nm) de Co sont susceptibles de générer des états chiraux tels que skyrmions à la température ambiante. Ce travail montre que des structures basées sur Pt/Co sont versatiles et utiles pour l’électronique de spin<br>The thesis focuses on the growth and study of nanoscale layers from Pt/Co/Pt to Pt/Co/oxide and Pt/Co/heavy metal. These layers could be part of the magnetic core of spintronic devices. Perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA) is required. The objective is to modify and control the PMA and to manipulate the magnetization, by a magnetic field and also by any other means such as light, stress or current. A significant part of the work concerns the establishment of several platforms for growth (sputtering), treatment (ion irradiation) and characterization (magneto-optic Kerr effect), work to which I contributed or led. The PMA of Co layers was obtained on rigid and flexible substrates, suitable for applications. The modification of the PMA has been studied by varying the buffer and cover layers. Reversible modulation of PMA was achieved through the phase transition of a VO2 buffer layer. In Pt/Co/oxide and Pt/Co/heavy metal layers, the propagation of magnetic domain walls was analyzed by Kerr microscopy under perpendicular and transverse magnetic pulses, in order to probe interface effects. The non-isotropic propagation of domain walls in the presence of a transverse magnetic field reveals a chiral texture of magnetizations compatible with the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction. This suggests that ultrathin layers (<1 nm) of Co are likely to generate chiral states such as skyrmions at room temperature. This work shows that structures based on Pt/Co are versatile and useful for spin electronics

Ce travail s'inscrit dans les recherches actives des nouvelles propriétés magnétiques et électriques dans les hétérostructures artificielles. Nous avons élaboré et étudié un système du type « Oxyde ferrimagnétique / Métal non magnétique / Oxyde ferrimagnétique » dans lequel les électrons sont confinés dans la couche métallique 2D et subissent de nombreuses réflexions aux interfaces « métal / isolant magnétique ». L'élaboration de ce système impose une maîtrise de la croissance des différentes couches et de la planéité des interfaces. Les dépôts sont épitaxiés afin de limiter les diffusions des électrons aux joints de grains par pulvérisation cathodique dans un bâti UHV, les caractérisations structurales sont essentiellement réalisées par microscopie électronique haute résolution et diffraction des rayons X.<br />Nous avons étudié la croissance épitaxiale de couches simples de Fe3O4 et de CoFe2O4 sur Al2O3(0001) et MgO(001) afin d'obtenir respectivement une direction de croissance [111] et [001]. Nous nous sommes également intéressés à la croissance épitaxiale et à l'anisotropie d'échange de bicouches Fe3O4(5nm à 50nm)/NiO(66nm) dans ces deux mêmes directions de croissance. Nous avons ensuite étudié la croissance de métaux non oxydables (Pt, Au et Ag) sur les surfaces (001) et (111) de Fe3O4.<br />Ces résultats ont permis d'élaborer les systèmes épitaxiés Fe3O4/M(M=Au,Pt)/ CoFe2O4 sur Al2O3(0001). Les propriétés électriques montrent que les électrons sont confinés dans la couche métallique et qu'apparaît une GMR atteignant près de 1,8% à 10K due exclusivement aux réflexions électroniques sur les interfaces métal/oxyde avec certainement une contribution des réflexions spéculaires.

Nous avons développé un système de transfert des surfaces monocristallines préparées sous ultra-haut vide (UHV) vers un milieu électrolytique pour effectuer des mesures voltampérométriques. Ce système original très compact comprend une valise sous vide et une cellule électrochimique dédiée. Le système a été testé avec succès sur des surfaces monocristallines de platine, en particulier la surface Pt(111) très sensible à la qualité de la préparation sous UHV. Puis nous avons utilisé ce système pour caractériser les propriétés électrochimiques du système Pt/W(111) avec d'une part l'effet des contraintes élastiques pour les couches ultra-minces planaires de Pt épitaxié ainsi que la stabilité en milieu électrolytique de nano-pyramides obtenues par déstabilisation en température des surfaces Pt/W(111). Ce travail ouvre des perspectives intéressantes pour l'étude électrochimiques des surfaces modèles préparées sous UHV.

Le système barrière thermique, permettant la protection des aubes mobiles des turbines aéronautiques, est un système dont l'élaboration est complexe et nécessite de nombreuses étapes. L'utilisation du spark plasma sintering (SPS) a permis de réaliser des systèmes barrière thermique complets en une étape unique. Au-delà des possibilités industrielles de cette méthode, le SPS s'est avéré un outil de recherche précieux pour rapidement tester un vaste champ de compositions et d'ajouts d'éléments réactifs. Les premier essais et la modélisation de la diffusion dans le SPS ont permis de prévoir les phases du revêtement suite à l'étape de SPS. Les travaux se sont ensuite focalisés sur l'optimisation d'une composition de sous couche γ-γ' riche en platine dopée avec des éléments réactifs sur un substrat d'AM1. L'analyse chimique des revêtements SPS a révélé des taux de pollutions en soufre et carbone extrêmement faibles. Au vu de l'influence néfaste de ces éléments sur la tenue en oxydation cyclique ces analyses mettent en valeur la qualité des revêtements élaborés. Les performances des sous couches dopées, avec notamment du hafnium, de l'yttrium et du zirconium ont été évaluées lors d'essais de cyclage thermique à 1100°C sous air. La composition de revêtement γ-γ' la plus prometteuse a ensuite été comparée au système industriel β-(NiPt)Al avec la même barrière thermique de zircone yttriée déposée par EBPVD et le même substrat d'AM1. Les résultats obtenus montre une meilleure durée de vie des systèmes TBC avec sous couches γ-γ'. Par contre la remontée importante des éléments du superalliage dans le revêtement influence la durée de vie du système TBC comme cela a été montré par des dépôts conduits sur d'autres nuances de superalliages à base de nickel. Ces résultats montrent que pour les revêtements γ-γ' la prise en compte du revêtement dans le développement d'un superalliage est essentielle<br>To protect turbines blades from excessive oxidation and to lower the temperature at the blade surface, a multilayer coating system has been developed in the past, i.e. the thermal barrier coating. The fabrication of TBC is expensive and demands numerous process steps. In this study, bond coatings have been fabricated by spark plasma sintering in a single step. This fast fabrication process permits to test a large range of bond coating compositions with different reactive elements such as Zr, Y and Hf on AM1 nickel base superalloy. From the first results, the data related to the diffusion during the SPS were calculated to predict the coating phases. Impurities levels were measured after SPS fabrication. Sulphur and carbon concentration were very low. These results highlight the great quality of coating made by spark plasma sintering, more particularly with a top coat also made by SPS. Then, a composition of γ-γ’ coating has been optimized for high life span during thermal cycling. The thermal cycling at 1100°C of TBC system with this optimized γ-γ’ bond coatings give better life span than the conventional system with β-(Ni,Pt)Al phase bond coating. After long thermal cycling, >1000*1h cycles, chemical elements from the substrate can diffuse in the thermally grown oxide, leading to its delamination. Thus, for increasing the life span of the whole system the bond coating has to be considered during the superalloy development

AbstractThe Both bonded and unbonded prestressing tendons may be used to reinforce post-tensioned (PT) concrete members. The binding state of tendons may have an impact on how well different types of PT concrete elements function in flexural and shear loads. Inverted-U shape reinforcement was used experimentally to enhance the behavior of different structural elements. The obtained results confirmed the proposed model’s accuracy for both PT slabs and beams (bonded, and unbonded). This study's major goal is to compare numerically PT concrete slabs provided with inverted-U shape reinforcement with the two different tendon systems and evaluate their performances due to applying punching shear load. To do this, the PT slab that has already been tested is reexamined numerically. By using, a nonlinear finite element, the results were carried out utilizing visualization tools. For a better study of the behavior of bonded and unbonded PT slabs, the obtained numerical results, and the previous experimental one are compared. Good correlations are shown.

AbstractThis research aims to analyze the factors that affect the impediment of the ship maintenance system in PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), which consists of variables of competence and work motivation for employee performance of the Ship Division at PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia Regional 1 (Persero). The research method used a saturated sample or census, where all population members were sampled, amounting to 121 respondents. The collection was performed by distributing questionnaires which were then analyzed using linear regression analysis with the SPSS program. The results of the study show that 1) competence has a positive and significant consequence on employee performance, 2) work motivation has a positive and significant consequence on employee performance, and 3) simultaneously, competence and work motivation have an consequence on employee performance.

AbstractRhenium, Os, and Pt are redox sensitive elements that are concentrated in highly reducing environments such as those associated with black shales but mobile under more oxidizing conditions such as those associated with arc volcanism. They are chalcophile in many terrestrial ore-forming environments, and their isotopic systematics provide unique opportunities to date the formation of sulfide ore deposits and understand their petrogenesis. Fractional crystallization of magmatic sulfide ores generates primary variations in Re/Os and Pt/Os that allow mineral and whole rock isochron ages to be determined and discrimination of crustal and mantle sources based on initial Os isotopic compositions. Molybdenite is especially well suited for geochronology due to its high Re/Os and resistance to resetting. Rhenium concentrations in molybdenite tend to reflect the composition or provenance of the ore-forming fluids, with higher concentrations associated with more primitive sources or more oxidized fluids and lower concentrations with more evolved and/or reduced conditions, although local and regional factors also have a significant influence. Many studies have used pyrite for dating but its typically low Re concentration, variable initial Os isotopic composition (reflecting fluid mxing), and susceptibility to re-equilibration makes its use as a geochronometer problematic in many cases. Other sulfide minerals such as bornite and arsenopyrite have shown promise for Re–Os isotope geochronology but additional studies are needed to evaluate their broader applicability for dating of ore deposits. The isobaric beta decay of parent isotope 187Re to 187Os has restricted investigation of this system by microbeam techniques such as ion microprobe or laser ablation mass spectrometry, especially for geochronology. This requires either chemically processing the sample to separate the elements or novel techniques such as collision-cells that preferentially ionize the Re and Os during the analysis. Thermal ionization mass spectrometry (TIMS) and inductively-coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICPMS) are the most widely applied techniques for Re-Pt-Os isotopic analyses. Specialized techniques for sample digestion to ensure redox equilibrium between Os in the sample and the isotopically enriched spikes used for isotope dilution measurements are typically required. This chapter briefly reviews development of the 187Re-187Os and 190Pt-186Os isotopic systems for earth science, physico-chemical controls on their behavior in ore-forming environments, and applications to metallogenic systems.

Within the last years, Linear Fresnel (LF) collector systems have been developed as a technical alternative to parabolic trough collector (PT) systems. In the past, LF systems focused on low- and medium temperature applications. Nowadays, LF systems equipped with vacuum receivers can be operated at the same temperatures as PT systems. Papers about the technical and economical comparison of specific PT and LF systems have already been published, [1–3]. However, the present paper focuses on the systematic differences in optical and thermodynamic performance and the impact on the economic figures. In a first step the optical performance of typical PT and LF solar fields has been examined, showing the differences during the course of the day and annually. Furthermore, the thermodynamic performance, depending on the operating temperature, has been compared. In a second step, the annual electricity yield of typical PT and LF plants are examined. Solar Salt has been chosen as heat transfer fluid. Both systems utilize the same power block and storage type. Solar field size, storage capacity, and power block electrical power are variable, while all examined configurations achieve the same annual electricity yield. As expected for molten salt systems, both systems are the most cost-effective with large storage capacities. The lower thermodynamic performance of the LF system requires a larger solar field and lower specific costs in order to be competitive. Assuming specific PT field costs of 300 €/m2 aperture, the break-even costs of the LF system with Solar Salt range between 202 and 235 €/m2, depending on the site and storage capacity.

Currently, many owners and consultants prefer to use post-tensioned PT slab systems in multi-storey buildings due to their considerable savings in materials, labor, and time. On the other hand, many contractors still use the traditional RC flat slab systems due to their simple construction process. This research focuses on the comparison between the two systems taking into consideration: cost, time, and structural behavior. Detailed cost and time analysis is performed for each system considering all construction resources. The analysis and design of the buildings are conducted using many structural and project management computer programs. These include ETABS, SAFE, RAM, REVIT, and Primavera. The results indicated that, PT systems provide significant savings for spans larger than 6 m. The structural analysis of both systems also showed that PT slabs are more effective in resisting seismic straining actions.

N-doping was achieved via ion beam implantation, and Pt was electrodeposited from solutions of H2PtCl6 in aqueous HClO4. Morphology from scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and catalytic activity measurement from aqueous electrochemical analysis were utilized to examine the N-doping effects. The results strongly support the theory that doping nitrogen into a graphite support significantly affects both the morphology and behavior of the overlying Pt nanoparticles. In particular, nitrogen-doping was observed to cause a significant decrease in the average Pt nanoparticle size, an increase in the Pt nanoparticle dispersion, and a significant increase in catalytic activity for both methanol oxidation and oxygen reduction.

This report describes the technical engine details of the particle- and species-tracking software ERDC-PT. The development of ERDC-PT leveraged a legacy ERDC tracking model, “PT123,” developed by a civil works basic research project titled “Efficient Resolution of Complex Transport Phenomena Using Eulerian-Lagrangian Techniques” and in part by the System-Wide Water Resources Program. Given hydrodynamic velocities, ERDC-PT can track thousands of massless particles on 2D and 3D unstructured or converted structured meshes through distributed processing. At the time of this report, ERDC-PT supports triangular elements in 2D and tetrahedral elements in 3D. First-, second-, and fourth-order Runge-Kutta time integration methods are included in ERDC-PT to solve the ordinary differential equations describing the motion of particles. An element-by-element tracking algorithm is used for efficient particle tracking over the mesh. ERDC-PT tracks particles along the closed and free surface boundaries by velocity projection and stops tracking when a particle encounters the open boundary. In addition to passive particles, ERDC-PT can transport behavioral species, such as oyster larvae. This report is the first report of the series describing the technical details of the tracking engine. It details the governing equation and numerical approaching associated with ERDC-PT Version 1.0 contents.

Although the application of systems thinking (ST) has become essential for practitioners when dealing with turbulent and complex environments, there are limited studies available in the current literature that investigate how the ST skills of practitioners vary with regard to demographic factors and personality types (PTs). To address this gap, this article uses a structural equation modeling approach to explore the relationship be-tween practitioners’ ST skills, PT, and a set of demographic factors. The demographic factors included in the study are education level, the field of the highest degree, organizational ownership structure, job experience, and current occupation type. A total of 99 engineering managers, 104 systems engineers (SEs), and 55 practitioners with other occupations participated in this article. Results showed that the education level, the field of the highest degree, PT, organizational ownership structure, and current job experience of practitioners influenced their level of ST skills. Additionally, the current occupation type of practitioners partially affects their level of ST skills. An in-depth analysis was also conducted using multiple group analysis to show how seven ST skills of the practitioners vary across their level of education. Taken together, the findings of the study suggest that PT and a set of demographic factors influence the overall ST skill of the practitioners.

There is a variety of impressed current anode materials available for onshore applications, including High Silicon Cast Iron (HSCI), Mixed Metal Oxides (MMO), graphite, platinum (or platinum coated titanium), and conductive polymers. Many end users simply select the anode material that they have experience with. What is lacking is a clear, direct comparison of relative anode consumption rates conducted under identical conditions. The present study examined the behavior of the various anode types under different current loads and soil conditions in an effort to establish baseline consumption rates under controlled conditions. Variables that were examined included soil resistivity, the presence of coke backfill, current load, and soil type (sand or 50/50 clay/sand mix). The consumption rates of the anodes evaluated decreased in the order of: AnodeFlex, HSCI, Graphite, Pt, and MMO. A survey of field experiences yielded a slightly different order in terms of anode life with Graphite and HSCI lasting the longest. However, given the wide range of anode sizes used in the various field sites, it is difficult to directly link the field results to the consumption rates measured in the laboratory. Soil composition and resistivity were not observed to have a significant influence on anode consumption rates. The presence of coke, however, led to a decrease in consumption for all anodes in some cases by as much as a factor of nearly 70. Utilizing anode cost estimates and neglecting installation costs, the life-cycle material costs for MMO and Pt anodes are much lower than the other anode materials. Furthermore, AnodeFlex was noted to be the highest cost system from a materials perspective. This may be slightly misleading since installation and replacement costs are not factored in. Given that the installation of AnodeFlex is often much easier and less expensive than the other anode types, this may prove to be a viable financial decision when the other factors are considered. ����������� The primary implications of the present study are: Despite higher material costs, MMO and Pt anodes may offer significant long-term cost savings as compared to other anode types for many applications Use of coke backfill is critical to ensure lower anode consumption rates for AnodeFlex, Graphite, and to a lesser extent HSCI; coke does not appear necessary for MMO or Pt Soil composition (sand vs. clay/sand mix) and resistivity do not appear to significantly influence anode consumption rates, thus consideration of the soil environment (except groundwater chemistry) is not needed in selection of an appropriate anode Because the influence of groundwater chemistry (as part of the soil environment) was not examined, the effects of sulfate, chloride, and pH will need to be evaluated in detail to better aid in anode material selection Field use survey responses showed a wide range in observed anode lifespan, with graphite and HSCI experiencing the longest life and cable anodes the shortest The field survey also revealed that a significant cause of anode failures was connector and cable problems
