Abstract:

Összefoglaló. Jelen tanulmányom témája az Állami Polgári Iskolai Tanárképző Főiskola szegedi megalapítása és hazánk első Pedagógiai-Lélektani Intézetének létrejötte, valamint első vezetőjének, a katolikus Várkonyi Hildebrandnak a munkássága. Intézetében a neveléstudomány és a pszichológia egymástól elválaszthatatlan egységként működött. Munkámban bemutatom Szegedre kerülésének különleges körülményeit, amelyek kiváltó oka elsősorban az volt, hogy a protestáns jellegű kolozsvári egyetem 1921-től kezdődően Szegeden, egy püspöki székhelyen került elhelyezésre. Klebelsberg a Bölcsészkar alacsony látogatottságát növelni kívánta, a katolikus lobbi nyomására az egyetem protestáns jellegét pedig csökkenteni. Ebbe a folyamatba illeszkedik a budapesti székhelyű polgári iskolai tanár-, illetve tanárnőképző főiskolák összevonása és Szegedre helyezése, valamint ezzel párhuzamosan a felekezeti tanárképzők megszüntetése. Várkonyi pedagógia-lélektana a főiskolások egyetemre való áthallgatása révén beépült a polgári iskolai tanárok kultúrájába. Summary. My following study is about the establisment of the State Civic School Teacher’s Training College in Szeged. It also contains information about the establishment of our country’s first Educational-Psychological Instute, and of it’s first (catholic) headmaster’s, Hildebrand Várkonyi’s work. The University of Szeged was put together of protestant teachers from the university in Kolozsvár in 1921. The Religious and Educational Board helped increase the attendance of the Faculty of Liberal Arts, but also decreased the protestant nature of it. The Religious and Educational Board also achieved this by moving the state, and catholic teacher’s training college from Budapest to Szeged and by duplicating the departments of the remaining protestant Faculties of Liberal Arts. Várkonyi’s pedagogy and psychology got built into the culture of civic schools.

Abstract:

A Erdély és Kolozsvár román megszállása után a román hatóságok erőszakkal elfoglalták a kolozsvári egyetem épületeit és a professzorokat megfosztották állásuktól. A kitoloncolt tanárok Budapesten folytatták oktatói munkájukat, majd Somogyi Szilveszter Szeged polgármestere vezetésével széleskörű akció indult a száműzött egyetem ideiglenesen Szegedre kerülése érdekében. Somogyi Szilveszter az egyetem szegedi elhelyezése előtt álló minden akadályt elhárított, és neki köszönhetően lett a város 1921-ben egyetemi székhely. Mindezért az egyetem 1922. június 29-i ünnepi ülésén az államtudományok tiszteletbeli doktorává avatta.

[. . . ] Ha azonban tekintetbe vesszük, hogy Szeged városát általánosan fejlett kultúrája, egyetemi városi jellege és geográfiai elhelyezése egyenesen predesztinálja a Dél-vidék zenekultúrájának irányítására, úgy megállapíthatjuk, hogy e város zenei életének jelentősége messze túlnő a város határain és a megítélésben Szeged város zenekulturális hivatása éppoly fontos, mint magasabb színvonalon a székesfőváros, vagy az ország egyéb vidéki zeneközpontjainak hivatása. A város zenei életének irányítóiteljes mértékben átérzik e kulturális feladat jelentőségét és tervszerű munkával szolgálják nemcsak a helyi, hanem az országos zenekultúra ügyét.” – írta 1929-ben Pálfy József, a szegedi városi színház intendánsa és a Szegedi Filharmonikus Egyesület elnöke a Muzsika folyóirat 111. számában, melyet a szerkesztők Szeged zenei életének szenteltek (Muzsika, 1929. 7. o.).A Szeged kulturális életében fontos szerepet játszó és a várost kiemelkedő vidéki zeneoktatási színhellyé tévő 1881-ben megalapított zeneiskola történetének egy rövid, ám rendkívül meghatározó időszakának bemutatására vállalkozik tanulmányunk. Eddig még nem publikált hagyatéki anyagok: levelek, írások felhasználásával szeretnénk a figyelmet felhívni a Belle Ferenc nevével fémjelzett 1935-1944 közötti időszak jelentőségére és eredményeire, melyek a város kulturális életének is fontos évei voltak.Keywords: town music culture, applied music, history of music school "The music culture of Szeged is not only the cause of this very town, but it is a significant factor of the entire music culture in Hungary. (...) However, if we allow for the fact, that Szeged town’s generally developed culture with its university town character and geographic location makes it predestined for leading the South’s music culture, then we can establish that the importance of this town’s music life overgrows by far the borders of this city; hence, the music cultural role of Szeged is as important as that of the capital and other provincial music centres. The governing body of the city’s music life is well aware of the importance of this cultural task and is working methodically on serving the cause of music culture not only on a local but on a national level" - wrote József Pálfy, intendant of the Theatre of Szeged and president of the Philharmonic Society of Szeged in the 111th edition of Muzsika Journal in 1929, an issue dedicated to the music life of Szeged by its editors (Muzsika, 1929, 7. p.).Our study intends to introduce a short but notable period of the history of the Music School of Szeged, which was founded in 1881. Unedited materials, letters and other documents of Ferenc Belle, director of the music school between 1935 and 1944 were used to help us to draw attention to the importance of this period, which resulted in some outstanding years in the cultural life of this town.

Magyarországra áttelepülve (1924-től) a Kolozsvárról Szegedre menekült egyetemen ny. r. tanára (1924–1937); közben a bölcsészkar dékánja (1931/1932. tanév), prodékánja (1932/1933. tanév). Az 1931/1932. tanévben – a nagy gazdasági világválság kirobbanását követő években – lett a szegedi egyetem Diákjóléti és Diákvédő Irodájának elnöke. A tanulmány igyekszik felvázolni „a diákvédő professzor” portréját.

Abstract:

A veseátültetés magyar története 1962-ben Szegeden kezdődött, amikor Németh András (1924–1999) elvégezte az első magyarországi veseátültetést. A szegedi egyetemi oktatás centenáriuma kapcsán a szerző áttekinti az elmúlt közel 60 év eseményeit, fordulópontjait, a szegedi vesetranszplantáció fejlődését, felelevenítve az első veseátültetés hátterét, körülményeit. Az első veseátültetés során a donor a recipiens testvére volt, a műtét technikailag sikeres volt, azonban immunszuppresszió hiányában 79 nap után kilökődés következtében és dialíziskezelés hiányában a beteget elvesztették. A donor 50 év után is jó egészségnek örvendett, és mindenkit a donációra bíztatott. Több mint egy évtized után, 1973-ban Budapesten elkezdődött a szervezett veseátületési program, minisztériumi támogatással, amelyhez 1979-ben csatlakozott Szeged Csajbók Ernő és Szenohradszky Pál vezetésével. Az eltelt 42 év alatt a szegedi Transzplantációs Centrumban jelentős szakmai fejlődés, szervezeti átalakulás mellett 2021. november végéig 1701 veseátültetés történt.

Abstract:

During World War 2 Szeged served as the key cultural, economic, military and trade centre of the Southern Great Plain in Hungary, also being an important water transport and railway junction. No wonder that Allied intelligence services took notice of the town early on, starting to collect reconnaissance information about Szeged’s most important establishments and objects in order to prepare for their destruction. In my study I dissect the town’s Second World War military geography, and look into how strategic targets in Szeged were located.

Abstract:

Szeged belterületén 15 kisebb-nagyobb tó található. Némelyek természetes eredetű vízjárta helyek, mások a XIX. század végén mélyített kubikgödrök, vannak azonban közöttük bányatavak és holtágak is. Öt szegedi tónak vizsgáltuk a környezeti állapotát, melyek közül a Bika-tó természetes eredetű, a Méntelepi Fehér-tó és a Búvár-tó sekély kubikgödrök (<3 m), a Csemegi-tó és a Sancer-tó mélyebb bányatavak (>10 m). Ezek közül három tóban vizsgáltuk évente megismételt vízmintákon (2009 és 2017 között) a víztér oldott oxigén-tartalmát, kémiai oxigén igényét (az oldott szerves anyagot), továbbá az oldott nitrogénformákat (nitrát, nitrit, ammónium) és az ortofoszfát-koncentrációt. A Sancer-, a Búvár- és a Bika-tavakban történt üledékmintavétel nehézfém-analízis céljából. A vizsgált városi tavakban jelentős a víztér szervesanyag- és N-, P- tápanyagterhelése. Vízminőségi adatok alapján megállapítható, hogy a tavak ammónium- és nitrát-koncentrációi némileg csökkenő tendenciát mutatnak az utóbbi években, amely összefügghet a tisztítatlan szennyvízbevezetések vélt csökkenésével. A város csaknem teljes csatornázottsága 2006-ra épült ki Szegeden, azonban a csatornákból szivárgó szennyvíz és a lassan regenerálódó szennyezett talajvíz továbbra is terhelheti a tavakat. Az oldott foszfát-koncentrációk azonban továbbra is magasabb értékeket mutatnak egyes tavakban, amely a korábban az üledékekben felhalmozott P kioldódásából adódhat. Ez történhet az üledékek szerves anyagainak lebomlásával, különösen anaerob állapot fellépése esetén. Az üledékvizsgálatok alapján megállapítható, hogy egyes jellemzően közlekedési eredetű nehézfémek (Cu, Zn, Pb) kisebb mértékű dúsulást mutatnak a felszíni üledékrétegekben a forgalmas utak mentén elhelyezkedő tavakban. Azonban egy nehézfém dúsulása sem éri el a jogszabályban lefektetett szennyezettségi határértékeket. Összességében megállapítható, hogy a vizsgált szegedi tavakat magas trofitási fok jellemez, amely a tavak külső és belső tápanyagterheléséből és a vizük frissülésének hiányából adódhat.

Abstract:

The paper is about the set of drawings and documents by Ödön Lechner and Gyula Pártos for the Town-hall of Szeged dated to 1881–1883 (Hungarian National Archives, Csongrád-Csanád County Archives, Szeged [MNL CSML], Collection of Building Plans and Documents of the Municipality of Szeged, marked Lecher Ödön, Pártos Gyula: A Szegedi Városházhoz készített tervek, rajzok és iratok, [Plans, drawings and documents for the Szeged Town-hall], XV.2b. 45. d.-49.d). The elaborated theme includes ground-plans, rosette, baluster and skylight plans, detail plans of staircase and main cornice, plan of the roof of the main staircase, 37 drawings of ornamental sculpture, window pillars, window frames and rail chains, painter’s stencils signed by Ödön Lechner, two façade versions, tower detail, details of the main portal, drawings of the vault around the clock, of the ornaments of room doors and cornice elements. The building logbooks, list of submissions to the competition with code-names and the contracts signed with the building contractors are also valuable sources.In addition to eighty drawings of diverse sizes and techniques, the collection includes the construction documents, accounts, correspondence, building logbooks, planning competition calls, and a colour plan for the tiling of the Szeged Town-hall now in the Architectural Collection of the Kiscelli Museum of the Budapest History Museum (inv.no. 117). I evaluate the drawings both within the conception of an architectural work and also as separate graphic sheets, and try to describe their background in terms of the history of architecture, art and ideas.I am led to conclude that the Szeged Town-hall was the first project to manifest Lechner’s ambition to lay the groundworks of a national architecture based on the more abstracted and universal basic forms of folk art but keeping abreast of European tendencies. The drawings are invaluable in that they add more information to the chronology of Lechner’s artistic career and lend stress to the fact that folklore and local history researches, the intellectual approach, the synthesis of local and international achievements, a thorough knowledge of the history of ceramics, the redefinition of traditions played at least as important roles in creating the concept of a building as individual intention and creative imagination.The paper was supported by the Ernő Kállai Art Historical Research Grant.

A topological index is a numeric quantity of a molecule that is mathematically derived in an unambiguous way from the structural graph of a molecule. In this paper, we compute the edge Szeged index, edge–vertex Szeged index, and total Szeged index of nanosheets such as type I and type II C4C8(S) nanosheets, peri-condensed benzenoid nanosheet, and H-naphtalenic nanosheet. In addition, we correct the computational errors occurring on the values of the Wiener and vertex Szeged indices of these nanosheets in the literature.

PI and Szeged indices are two of the most important topological indices defined in chemistry. In this study, the PI and Szeged indices of linear [n]-phenylenes and a cyclic hexagonal-square chain consisting of n mutually isomorphic hexagonal chains were computed. The revised Szeged index is a molecular structure descriptor equal to the sum of products $[n_u(e) + \frac{n_0(e)}{2}][n_v(e) + \frac{n_0(e)}{2}]$ over all edges $e = uv$ of the molecular graph $G$, where $n_0(e)$ is the number of vertices equidistant from $u$ and $v$, $n_u(e)$ is the number of vertices closer to $u$ than $v$ and $n_v(e)$ is defined analogously. The adjacency matrix of a graph weighted in this way is called its revised Szeged matrix and the set of its eigenvalues is the revised Szeged spectrum of $G$. In this paper some new results on the revised Szeged spectrum of graphs are presented.

A cactus is a graph in which any two cycles have at most one common vertex. In this paper, the lower bounds of edge Szeged index and edge-vertex Szeged index for cacti with order n and k cycles are determined, and all the graphs that achieve the lower bounds are identified.

Abstract:

Noise pollution is a serious and complex city problem. While there are objective, measurable parameters for noise mapping assessments, since the effects of noise are also subjectively perceived, it has been difficult to accurately evaluate the urban problems and conflicts arising from noise. Urban noise and its perception is related to the quality of life; thus its analysis is can provide useful insights for decision-makers. Therefore, through an analysis of online media content, the paper presents local the attitudes in Szeged towards urban noise. During the analysis different noise categories and the city’s noise characteristics were determined. Even though the noise pollution in residential areas was found to be mainly concentrated in the city centre, it also affected more remote areas, and social problems and political discourses were also identified. Besides the noise of urban traffic, Szeged people appeared to be disturbed by noise related to leisure activities, such as urban (and university) programs and festival noise, which indicated that noise reduction efforts should be focus on more than just the reduction of traffic noise.

Topological indices are numerical parameters of a graph that characterize its topology and are usually graph invariant. There are certain types of topological indices such as degree-based topological indices, distance-based topological indices, and counting-related topological indices. These topological indices correlate certain physicochemical properties such as boiling point, stability, and strain energy of chemical compounds. In this paper, we compute an exact expression of Wiener index, vertex-Szeged index, edge-Szeged index, and total-Szeged index of single-walled titania nanotubes TiO2(m, n) by using the cut method for all values of m and n.

Abstract:

A questionnaire survey wa s made on the migration to Deszk from which it can be concluded that the younge r and middle-.aged age group move to the settlement (65,19% migrated from Szeged). The reasons from migration are the low prices of plots and real estates and the peaceful environment. Most of the migrants work in Szeged and they used the settlement as a so-called ,.bedroom community" . A significant number of respondents (239 persons) drive to work. According to the analysis made by data of KSH, in the examined period (1999-2008) mortality exceeded birth rate, the number of marriages exceeded the numbe r of divorces. It can also be seen that more people migrate to Szeged and its catchment area than leave it.

Abstract:

A smart (or liveable) city is a settlement which is able to utilize the available technological possibilities and particularly the infocommunication devices in an innovative way in order to develop a sustainable environment. A sustainable urban environment is increasingly necessary since the portion of urban population is constantly growing. This might require the rethinking of the development of traffic in the city as well. In 2015 a survey was conducted in Szeged related to the ongoing smart city project. The main goal of the survey was to get information about the transportation habits, opinions and expectations of the city residents. This paper summarizes some of the interesting results of the research in the field of public transport, bicycling, car transport, parking and walking. The research methods used were descriptive statistics, measuring relationship between variables and hypothesis testing. The results can also be the base of a later similar survey, where the possible financial consequences of the expectations are also communicated to the participants.
