Abstract:
Background. Determining the significance of the difference between two study groups is performed using statistical tests, the choice of which depends on the character and distribution of data in those groups. Objective. The aim of this manuscript is to explain the logic and conditions of application of statistical tests for the comparison of two study groups. Methods. The manuscript was prepared as a narrative review article, based on the primary statistical literature. Results. The Student’s T-test and the Mann-Whitney U-test can be applied to the comparison of the values of a continuous variable between two groups, with the Student’s T-test subject to the mandatory condition that the data are normally distributed in both groups (the normality of the distribution is checked by Kolmogorov-Smirnov test). The Chi-square test is applied if the values of a categorical variable are compared between two groups, provided that none of the values is represented in less than 6 patients. Conclusions. A prerequisite for accurately determining the significance of the difference between two groups is the application of an appropriate statistical test for which all conditions are met.

Abstract:
Currently there are four government-owned banks, namely; Bank Mandiri, Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN) and Bank Nasional Indonesia (BNI) 46. Of these four banks it can be said to have quite good performancej, proven to have provided dividends to the State treasury over the last few years.This research wants to see the difference in the average performance of the two government-owned banks, namely between Bank Mandiri and Bank Negara Indonesia over the last 10 years from 2014 to 2023.Research analysis of normality test, homogeneity test and independent sample t test using SPSS software version 26, to analyze the variables ROA, NPL, LDR, BOPO, CAR, NIM and ROE. The research shows that only the financial ratios Return on Equity (ROE) and Loan Deposit Ratio (LDR) have significant differences, while the ratios of Return on Assets (ROA), Net Interest Margin (NIM), Operational Costs to Operating Income (BOPO) and Net Performing Loans (NPL) and Capital Aduqucy Ratio (CAR), did not have a significant difference between Bank Mandiri and Bank Nasional Indonesia (BNI) 46, for 10 years, starting from 2014 until 2014. 2023.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to provide an example of how to calculate, measure, and interpret a paired t-test analysis using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). This study explained a step-by-step process to understand how t-test analysis can be used. To support this study, bibliometric research was added for showing the research trend in the use of t-test in a wide range of applications in the medical and educational fields. The analysis was carried out in two stages, namely prerequisite testing and hypothesis testing. In the prerequisite test, we did the normality (the Shapiro-Wilk) and the homogeneity test (Levene). Both tests were used for understanding what a significant impact happens on student learning outcomes from the statistical data gained during the teaching and learning process. Since this study provided step by step on conducting the t-test using SPSS and also how to interpret the results, this study is applicable for users to use in various research fields.

Now, stakeholders request sustainability reporting includes social and environmental informations about firms operation along with traditional reporting. It is so important that students who are futures accountants, managers, firm owners and public officers should have knowledge about this reporting system. In this study it is aimed to measure the University students&rsquo; level of perceptions about sustainability reporting and results are compared with each other. In this study, sum of 106 Ağrı İbrahim &Ccedil;e&ccedil;en University students which are at different departments and classes were choosen and implemented a survey to measure the level of perceptions about sustainability reporting. The results of the study could present no statistically significant differences between the student groups according to their classes, departments, gender and internship status. Students specified that, sustainability reporting was taught a little in the courses and more practice about sustainability reporting should be involved in the classes.

The eigenvalue analysis is utilized for detecting the lowest damping modes and evaluating the damping ratio of system oscillation, and these modes are applied as input for statistical analysis. A t-test analysis was performed on the difference of damping performance by proposed designed PSS, tuned PSS, and without PSS to support the hypothesis. The t-test results validated that the MEPE test system with designed PSS is most applicable for the improvement of oscillation damping in the power system.

The load-deformation curves of the connections and load-strain curves were presented. The test results showed that the commonly used stiffeners in current Chinese practice often yield or/and buckle prematurely. And the stiffener designed by the method can meet the requirement in CECS102-2002, which demands that the stiffener should be able to force the extended portion of endplates from clamped-free boundary to plates fixed on two adjacent boundaries.
