Abstract:
The objective of this study was to examine the relationship between dispositional goal orientation (task/ego), perceived motivational climate (mastery/performance) and psychological well-being (such as emotional affect and self-esteem) among elite and non-elite table tennis players. Participants were 85 table tennis players who practice and compete on different levels. The study was carried out quantitatively by assessing perceptions of success questionnaire, perceived motivational climate inventory, positive and negative affect in sport descriptor, and a self-esteem schedule. Results showed no significance difference in goal orientations, perceived motivational climate and psychological well-being between elite and non-elite participants. Further analysis however showed significant differences in motivational and psychological patterns that existed within these two groups. The results are discussed in relation to theoretical frameworks and previous research.<br>Studiens övergripande syfte var att undersöka förhållandet mellan målorientering (uppgift/tävling), upplevd motivationsklimat (uppgift/tävlingsorienterat) och psykologisk välbefinnande (emotionell affekt och självkänsla) bland svenska bordtennisspelare.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to investigate the dynamics of motivational forces in career stages in legendary table tennis players. Participants invited for this study were two highly recognized Swedish table tennis players who achieved major titles during their competitive career. The theoretical frameworks included the self-determination theory (SDT; Ryan &amp; Deci, 1985, 2000), achievement goal theory (AGT; Nicholls, 1989), and the developmental model of transition faced by athletes (Wylleman &amp; Lavallee, 2004). The study was based on in-depth narrative interviews on the field where the researcher stimulated participants to tell their stories in retrospect based on their perceptions of motivational drives across different stages. Results revealed that participants were (a) strongly driven by multiple personal goals (e.g., self-determined, winning major titles), (b) had high perception of ability (e.g., high task and high ego), (c) table tennis was central to their lives, and (d) they were surrounded by facilitative environment. Results are discussed in relation to theoretical frameworks and previous research.<br>Syftet med föreliggande studien var att undersöka dynamiken i motivationsprosessen genom olika karriärövergångar hos legendariska bordtennisspelare.

Abstract:
Although the history of Virtual Reality (VR) is only about half a century old, all kinds of technologies in the VR field are developing rapidly. VR is a computer generated simulation that replaces or augments the real world by various media. In a VR environment, participants have a perception of “presence”, which can be described by the sense of immersion and intuitive interaction. One of the major VR applications is in the field of sports, in which a life-like sports environment is simulated, and the body actions of players can be tracked and represented by using VR tracking and visualisation technology. In the entertainment field, exergaming that merges video game with physical exercise activities by employing tracking or even 3D display technology can be considered as a small scale VR. For the research presented in this thesis, a novel realistic real-time table tennis game combining immersive, interactive and competitive features is developed. The implemented system integrates the InterSense tracking system, SwissRanger 3D camera and a three-wall rear projection stereoscopic screen. The Intersense tracking system is based on ultrasonic and inertia sensing techniques which provide fast and accurate 6-DOF (i.e. six degrees of freedom) tracking information of four trackers. Two trackers are placed on the two players’ heads to provide the players’ viewing positions. The other two trackers are held by players as the racquets. The SwissRanger 3D camera is mounted on top of the screen to capture the player’s

Abstract:
The purpose of this research is to analyse the process of South Korean nationalism and national identity construction through studying Chinese table tennis players that have become naturalised citizens of South Korea. Based on an Eliasian theoretical and methodological prospective, this research employs three different methods of analysis. First, it employs archival analysis in the historical context chapter to determine the origins of table tennis and its spread to Northeast Asia, the political and societal role of table tennis in China and South Korea, and the appearance of the first naturalised player in South Korea. Second, this study employs newspaper text analysis to investigate newspaper reports of the South Korean and Chinese table tennis matches from the 1988 Seoul Olympics Games to the 2012 Games in London. This section first examines the flow of Korean nationalism through the table tennis matches between Korea and China, and then explores how the newspaper reports expressed nationalism in regard to the Korean players and naturalised players. Third, this study employs an interview method to gather data from 17 interviewees who have been associated directly or indirectly associated with the Chinese naturalised table tennis players in order to further examine the process of the formation of South Korean national identity. The first analysis regarding historical findings identifies that table tennis has evolved precisely alongside Elias s sportisation theory. In South Korea and China, table tennis has played the role of a national sport. Especially in South Korea, table tennis was a nationalistic sport that opposed anti-colonialism and anti-communism. It was in table tennis that the first naturalised athlete in the history of South Korean sport was selected for the Olympics. In the second analysis, through examining news reports of the Olympic table tennis matches between China and South Korea, this research identifies that South Korean newspapers continue to generate a strong image of nationalism. Moreover, the newspaper reports do not use the same nationalistic sentiments and personal pronouns for South Korean players and naturalised players. Finally, the interview analysis investigates the formation of South Korean identity through the naturalised table tennis players in South Korea. Three national identities groups have arisen in South Korea in response to the emergence of naturalised athletes. The first group approves of globalisation and naturalisation. The second group opposes globalisation and naturalisation. The third group, which comprises the media, has no specific interest in globalisation and naturalisation, but has an identity that changes based on the interests of the media company. In other words, the evidence from the interviews carried out for this thesis shows that South Korean national identity in regard to naturalised athletes remains diversified and not unified.

Abstract:
Background: Table tennis is a complex sport, which uses both aerobic and anaerobic endurance. Whereby the aerobic endurance system is mostly used during the rest periods in order to maintain active and fully focused under the intense periods which occurs during ball rallies. The Swedish Olympic committee provides with a physiological profile where the aerobic endurance of the table tennis players is tested with Cooper’s test. The Cooper’s test is not sport specific and thereby a sport specific aerobic endurance test was developed, since player performance should be measured precise and sport specific. The sport specific aerobic endurance test is named Critical frequency test and is performed with a mechanical ball thrower. Aim: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the strength of the correlation between Cooper’s test and Critical frequency test with subjects national ranking. A second aim was to compare the strength of the correlation between Cooper’s test and Critical frequency test with subjects national ranking. Method: 14 subjects participated in this correlation study. Their aerobic endurance was measured with a Cooper’s test performed on a treadmill where their time to complete 3000m in seconds was gathered and with two critical frequency tests performed at different intensities (48 respectively 56 balls/minute) where their time to exhaustion in seconds was gathered. Results: A strong correlation was found between Cooper’s test and subjects group ranking, based on their national ranking (r=0.600 and r2=0.360, p=0.023. A weak non-significant correlation was found between Critf test and subjects group ranking at 48 respectively 56 balls/minute (48: r=-0.341 and r2=0.116, p=0.233) and (58: r=0.022 and r2=0.0005, p=0.940). Conclusion: The results in this study showed a strong correlation between Cooper’s test and subjects group ranking. This means, that in table tennis players ranked from 20-2700 in Sweden, the Cooper’s test could be used, in order to evaluate player performance. However, the Critf test could be questioned since a weak non-significant correlation was found. Future research is needed to evaluate the Critf test in this area, on a more homogenous group concerning the ranking list in Sweden.

Nuttall, Denise Irene. "Embodying culture : gurus, disciples and tabla players." Thesis, 1997. http://hdl.handle.net/2429/8602.

Full text
Abstract:
This dissertation is an ethnography about the men and women who take up the practice and performance of a Hindustani (North Indian) drum called tabla, as a way of life. Learning tabla means that percussionists must find a guru, a learned master of the tradition who will guide them in their life long study of this instrument. The relationships formed between gurus and disciples are distinctively different in kind from teacher-student relations in Western knowledge systems. The guru-disciple tradition is a very specific, culturally dependent mode of learning originating from the Indian Brahmanical tradition of religious study. Discipleship is a form of apprenticeship which offers no easy translation, philosophically, culturally or spiritually. My ethnography and analysis of tabla as a way of life is presented from my own situated perspective as a tabla disciple of two tabla masters, Ustad Alia Rakha Khan, his son Ustad Zakir Hussain and as a visiting tabla enthusiast with another teacher of tabla, Ritesh Das. I offer a multi-local ethnography which centres on tabla communities based in Bombay, India, Toronto, Ontario, Vancouver, British Columbia, Seattle, Washington and the Bay Area of California. As tabla travels around the globe, outside of India, the learning and teaching of this tradition changes somewhat in its new environments. However, learning to play tabla whether in Indian or diaspora cultures necessitates adopting Indian ways of knowing, learning and being. For those musicians of non-Indian ethnicity who become dedicated to this art form learning tabla also means learning to embody Indian cultural ways of doing and knowing. I posit that learning the cultural, as in learning tabla, begins in the body and the embodied mind. Knowing through and with the body requires re-conceptualizing anthropological concepts of culture, memory and tradition. Grounding an analytic concept of the body in the emerging critical Anthropology of the Body and the Anthropology of the Senses allows for an examination of the social as something more than cognitive and language based.

Abstract:
碩士<br>國立臺北教育大學<br>體育學系碩士班<br>97<br>Taiwan’s table tennis arena has been exuberant with vitality especially among primary school level competitors. Only with numerous victories and determination can one stand out from the crowd. Being a “national table tennis player” is not only a symbol of skill mastery and glory, but also the greatest dream that the young contesters have. The once prominent comrades in battle felt excited even as they reminisced through all the bittersweet memories of their days. As each chose and followed their own paths after graduation, how have their days been? Bitter or sweet? Gain or loss? Regrets or fortunate? Those golden days are worthy of our exploration! The narrative inquiry approach is applied to demonstrate the true life stories of these athletes, depicting them at their trainings, academics, competitions and major life decisions; detailed and delicate angles of retrospect and evaluation portray their personal experiences and inner worlds their most original forms. All these help remove emotional barriers and build communication channels between athletes and their parents, coaches and sports administrators. Our conclusion is that even though the three athletes are not famous stars, their stories reveal great insight: one needs to be brave at the cross-roads of one’s life; attitude will determine one’s height, and perseverance will open up many doors of opportunity. Participation in sports not only builds one’s physical abilities but also nurtures one’s fearless attitude, which proves to be extremely valuable to one’s later lives. In the past, the researcher was their coach and teacher; now, they are the professional trainers of the researcher’s son; in the future, stories will continually be re-written, re-told and repeated!

Moreover, those products usually operate by button, so in my thesis we are focus on a 3.5 inch touch screen and use touch function to operate PMP. On the other hand, we design a PMP which has no button operator , and we use touch operator to handle all of function。 In general speaking, p2p software ussally has to connect to one of servers, then users can search any file which be shared by p2p users, so if p2p users are in a firewall limit, they can’t easily connect to each other. However, most of p2p users are in a firewall limit environment when they use p2p software, so we think that how to connect to p2p users whithout server because some networks have a filter to block connection through those p2p server IP address. DHT network struct likes a route table, so we can use it to instead of general route method. Thereforce, we can through DHT network to connect each other and share files.

Abstract:
碩士<br>輔仁大學<br>電子工程學系<br>95<br>In addition to the two present methods for programming mechanism of MP3 players, due to the marketing competition of MP3 players, there is a need for a fast GUI design for various customers. The first method stores only the boot code in the internal ROM of the controller chip which includes the initializing program code. The main program is stored in the NAND gate flash memory. As long as the initialization is completed, the main program will be loaded into the internal RAM of the controller chip from the NAND gate flash memory. The advantages of this method are that the main program can update the GUI anytime and provide more flexibility. However, the controller chip area will increase due to the need of internal RAM for loading the main program. The second method is to store the main program into the internal ROM of the controller chip, by which this design does not need to use an extra internal RAM of the controller chip in order to save the controller chip area. However, when the main program is once stored into the internal ROM of the controller chip, the function of the MP3 player can not change any more. In this paper, we propose a table based GUI design which provides a fast way to obtain the different programmable GUI from the pre-stored NAND gate flash memory. A couple of tables are used to support various customer GUIs, such as, a command table for the starting display procedure, a display table for the basic display components, a menu table for the basic function of the MP3 player and a button table for the button function used with the MP3 player operation. These tables can be pre-stored in the NAND gate flash memory. When users turn on the MP3 player, the main program in the internal ROM of the controller chip will load in the customer required tables from the NAND gate flash memory. Hence, by using our design, a different set of these tables will provide users with different GUIs even if the same chip set in the hardware modules is utilized.

By understanding their career planning, development and transition of these professional players whose age, backgrounds and professions are different, we can discover what affects the career development on these table tennis players, such as the social atmosphere and different periods of time. The seven interviewees are all from different generations and have different jobs. This qualitative research adopts depth interviews to collect data. After analyzing the collected data, the following are the conclusions. Regarding career development, the interviewees’early education, their support from important persons and experiences from many competitions all demonstrate the uniqueness of table tennis. These personal experiences mean a lot to the players and are valuable to their career development. As for the career planning, what affects their career planning is corporate companies’ financial support, the college they go to and personal issues. The research finds out most interviewees didn’t do any complete career planning during the days of their being professional players. As for career transition, the timing of change results from fatigue from competitions, economic problems, the age limit or graduation from school. Their adaptation to different jobs and lifestyles also show great differences. And different periods of time affects one’s educational backgrounds and career development.

Abstract:
碩士<br>國立臺灣師範大學<br>體育學系<br>98<br>Footwork was an important part of the flicking and hitting of table-tennis; moreover, it also played an indispensible role in this sport. With the rapid development and promotion of the table-tennis techniques all over the world, both of the players tried to control the placement of the ball to get the active attack. Thus, the range of the body movement became broader and broader, and it put more emphasis on the criterion of the footwork. In short, it’s very essential to advance the players’ level by strengthening the training of footwork and techniques. The purpose of the research is to investigate the development of the table-tennis players’ footwork training in China, as well as propose the concrete plans to enhance the effects of footwork training to give a reference to the physical education training authorities and table-tennis coaches about the footwork training. In addition, the document analysis and content analysis were used in the investigation, and it probeb the development of China table-tennis players’ footwork training from the related literature. The result is as follows:The techniques about the footwork training are various. No matter whether young or high-level players, the footwork application to the matches will be affected by the rivals’ level and techniques. Consequently, with the concerns about players’ physical and psychological features, the coaches should choose different training methods due to the players’ real needs and characteristics. The training techniques can be improved from the aspects of the ready stance, judgment and reaction, the power of the footstep, the change of the body’s center of gravity, the flexibility of the waist, as well as the way of the foot movement. In the footwork training in China, the training followed the principles from the simple to the complex, the easy to the difficult, as well as the slow to the fast, and it also combined with the co-coordinating techniques into practice. As a result, it’s a significant reason for China to get the high level in table-tennis all over the world. Nowadays, modern table-tennis techniques are supposed to be integrated in this sport; hence, the total training principles should be implemented thoroughly in the footwork training, so that its characteristics can stand out. The table-tennis techniques develop toward the directions of “initiative, total technique and various tactics”; what’s more, the table-tennis footwork makes progress toward the directions of “quick reach, accurate movement and the use of simplicity and practicality”.

Abstract:
碩士<br>國立體育大學<br>教練研究所<br>98<br>The study investigated the table tennis strategy by three stage skill analysis in elite Taiwan early youth table tennis players. Thirty singles players from the top eight teams of the primary school section in the 2009 National Chungzheng Cup Table Tennis Championships participated in this study. Twenty seven games of the subjects were recorded by video and an observation system in sports pedagogy. The gripped mode, three stage skill, and strategy of subjects were assessed by 3 level B coaches. The results showed that all subjects were tennis grips. The average usage frequency for serve and attack stage, receive and attack stage, as well as rally stage was 35.7±9.1%, 39.9±7.4%, and 24.4±14.5%, respectively. The use rates in both serve and attack stage as well as receive and attack stage were high usage. However, the rate in rally stage was low usage. The strategies of subjects in quick attack, quick attack combining top spin, top spin combining quick attack, push, and defense was 6.8%, 6.8%, 76.6%, 6.8%, and 3.3%, respectively. The study demonstrated that the techniques of rally stage in three stage skill for the subjects should improve. The diversification of strategy for elite early youth table tennis players in Taiwan is not enough since the tennis grips and top spin combining quick attack was the major strategy for most players.

Abstract:
碩士<br>國立體育大學<br>教練研究所<br>99<br>Self discourse in this research refers to communication with oneself and is considered a psychological technique applied in training and competitions. Such technique does not require unique equipment or facilities; instead, it only requires oral feedbacks by oneself, which facilitates learning and possesses practicable value. Previous researches seldom delved into the self discourse of table tennis athletes; therefore, the research aims to investigate the self discourse of outstanding table tennis athletes, both during training and competitions. The study, organized wih “four W”, was conducted with semi-structured interviews as a form of qualitative research, and twelve male and female athletes were interviewed; all of them have been members of the national team during adolescence or adulthood. The research result indicates that most of the self discourse is composed of positive content. For instance, during training, the communication with oneself includes sentences such as “work much harder” and “improve your weakness”. Before competitions, these athletes might tell themselves “just demonstrate your usual competence”; when they fall behind, they tend to tell themselves“one point at a time. It’s not over yet” or “there is still opportunity; don’t give up”. However, when they take the lead, their self-discourse includes “don’t loosen up” or “be more careful”. Suffering from sports injuries, they would encourage themselves by saying “make efforts to rehabilitate”. If blunders accumulate, they might coach themselves with words like “ take it slowly”, yet they might also blame themselves with negative expressions like “what are you doing anyway?” The research concludes that positive and negative self discourses arise from various contexts. Positive ones include encouragement and instructions; negative ones include expressions of tension, depression, fatigue, burnout and stress. Besides, the positive self discourses by outstanding table tennis athletes count much more than negative ones. Positive self discourses not only help develop proper perspectives on life, but also help raise the quality of life for these athletes. Finally, some concrete suggestions are given to future research on coaches and atheletes.

Abstract:
博士<br>國立體育大學<br>競技與教練科學研究所<br>104<br>Abstract Purpose: 1) To assess the validity and reliability of aerobic fitness evaluation in table tennis players using specific fitness test, (TTSFT); 2) To investigate the effect of eight-weeks high intensity interval training (HIIT) in elite table tennis players. Method: Study 1: Forty-one elite table tennis players (Mean age: 18.61 ±1.87 yrs; playing experience: 9.95 ± 2.47 yrs) were recruited in the study. Sixteen players were allocated into elite group (EG), and twenty-five players into sub-elite group (SEG). TTSFT was executed using a mechanical table tennis ball thrower (SMART-PONG) to control the exercise intensity. Each participant forehand topspin three position rally table tennis trials at frequency of 60 balls/min till exhaustion. The Polar heart rate monitor was used to record heart rate and exercise duration. The test-retest interval was 3 days in between. Cronbach's α was used to examine the internal consistency, and intra-class correlation coefficient (ICC) was used to assess the level of agreement between test and retest data. Study 2: Twenty-four elite table tennis players (age: 19.52 ± 1.21 yrs; playing experience: 11.17 ± 1.56 yrs) participated in this study and were allocated into HIIT exercise group (n = 12, TG) and control group (n = 12, CG). All subjects were assessed by graded exercise test (GXT), sub-maximal exercise test (SBT), and TTSFT before and after the intervention. The TG group received HIIT protocol three times a week for eight weeks. CG maintained the regular training programs. Participants were asked to perform a running test until fatigue before and after the experiment intervention to measure VO2max, exercise duration, VT, HRmax and RPE; and all subjects completed two 6-min bouts of moderate-intensity (MIE, 63%VO2max) and severe-intensity (SIE, 95%VO2max) running incremental exercise test (separated by 10-min rest). Breath-by-breath pulmonary gas exchange (SensorMedics, Vmax 29) and HR were measured. Changes in variables after exercise were compared between the groups by two-way repeated measures ANOVA. Results: Study 1: Test-retest reliability of the TTSFT regarding exercise time showed excellent overall reliability with ICC of 0.87 (p < .0001). As for RPE and HRmax, there were good test-retest reliability with ICC of 0.74 and 0.79 (p < .0001). Study 2: After HIIT intervention, TG significantly improved VO2max, time to voluntary exhaust, and blood lactate of GXT test (p < .05), and was better than CG (p < .05). The variables of CG showed no significant difference. TG significantly increased SIE velocity, VO2max, LACpost and ∆ LAC of SBT (p < .05), and was better than CG (p < .05). However, there were no significant difference in MIE test between TG and CG (p > .05). TG showed significantly improvement in TTSFT (p < .05) compared to CG. Conclusion: Study 1: The specific test is a reliable test and can be used to measure the sports related aerobic ability of table tennis players. Study2: HIIT for eight weeks could effectively improve aerobic capacity, specific fitness and exercise performance of table tennis players.

碩士<br>國立臺灣師範大學<br>體育學系<br>99<br>The purpose of this study was to investigate the psychological states of peak performance and their sources in elite table tennis players. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 10 elite table tennis players (mean age = 20.9±1.85, mean sport years = 12.4±2.86), five of whom represented Taiwan to attend the 2010 World Team Table Tennis Championships in Moscow. The average duration of each interview lasted about 60 minutes. Content analysis was performed to analyze the qualitative data of transcribed verbatim obtained through individual face-to-face interviews. Three hundred and ten quotes were drawn from the interview transcripts and then five dimensions were emerged after the inductive analysis process. They are concentration, self-confidence, positive thinking, emotion management, and Motivation. Besides, based on the results of the study, the sources of concentration were sober-minded thinking, concentration on the present and seeking an opportunity to reverse. The sources of self-confidence comprised coaches’ instruction, mental, tactical, and physical preparation before competition, self-belief in techniques, and social support. The sources of positive thinking included self-challenging and self-encouragement. Further, mental relaxation and competing like regular practice were the sources of emotional management. A desire for winning and concern about the result were the sources of motivation. The findings provided information for sport psychologists and coaches to organize appropriate psychological skills training programs for table tennis players. Further suggestion was proposed for strengthening coaches’ awareness of athletes’ mental states.

The researcher attemped to gain insight into the career orientations, development and transition needs of retirement among the elite table tennis players. The results of the study were expected to provide suggestions and orientations toward athlete training for educational institutions, teachers, coaches, players and parents, and to promote the development of athletes’ profession in Taiwan. The research subject was a first division table tennis player who received the professional training over ten years. The reaserch subject has been retired over five years and currently runs a private table tennis club. The case study of qualitative research was applied and used semi-structured interviews to collect information. Results found: the crucial factor in reaching a sucessful career transition was whether the players are able to make an overall career plan before their retirement. In order to be competitive in the job market, the players’ self improvement is another essential factor. It also found that the players' self handicapping is the cuase of the challenges which the players encounter in their career transition. Therefore, the players’ choices of seeking employment were narrowed down. After the retired players enter the job market, it is important to consider how to improve their own abilities and how to apply their professional skills to their jobs. These are the orientations that can be taken into account toward their career transition.

Abstract:
碩士<br>國立體育學院<br>教練研究所<br>93<br>The study analyzed and compared the complete forehand stroke movements of nine table tennis players from world-class group, class A and class B in college with three players from each group respectively. The study aimed to prove that having “complete movements” was the main requirement of being an outstanding table tennis player. In order to discover subtle differences, the study classified the forehand stroke movements into four stages and nineteen movement indices, including “ready to move and turn around stage and seven movement indices,” “turn around and ready to strike stage and three movement indices,” “move forward and strike stage and six movement indices,” “return to ready position stage and three movement indices.” Ulead Video Studio 6, Motion Scope 2.20 Camera, Photo Impact8 were used to analyze contest videotapes. χ2 appropriateness examination was used to test if there was any significant difference in the nineteen movement indices among the three groups of table tennis players (with α value as .05) , and all data was processed with SPSS11.0. The results of the analysis were as follows: (1) There was no significant difference in the four movement stages between the groups of world-class and class A. However, the class B was obviously worse than the world-class group and class A (P< .05) in this category. (2) There was no significant difference in the six out of nineteen movement indices between the groups of world-class and class A, but it was obvious that the class B was inferior to both the above-mentioned groups. The conclusions were as follows: 1.The world-class players were nearly perfect in the complete forehand stroke movements, and there was hardly any difference between the players from the world-class group and class A. 2.If the players from the class B wanted to have the performance as those from the class A or even the world-class group, they needed to work harder on the following movements as far as the complete forehand stroke movements were concerned: (1)the movements of “tiptoeing, stepping and moving forward” and “turning the waist toward the side that strikes” in the ready to move and turn around stage; (2)the movements of “bending the knee and joint of the side that strikes, stepping tiptoes forward and upward and turning the waist,” “turning the waist along with the body” and “using the body to move the arm to strike the ball” in the move forward and strike stage; (3)the movements of “shifting the center of gravity from the stepping of the side that does not strike, the turning-back of the waist to the middle of the joints of both knees” in the return to ready position stage.

The subjects of the study were Taiwan’s national male wheelchair table tennis players in Paralympic World Table Tennis Championships in 2002. The researcher collected the data by evaluating the index of the scores won under the Three-Stage Skill and then used Stepwise Regression Method to predict the rate of getting points. The results were as follows: 1. The index of getting points was “Good” when our national table tennis players in class five served, aggressed and got points during the game, and the index of the strategy (serving-aggressing-getting points) they used was “Qualified.” 2. The index of getting points was “Good” when our national players received, aggressed and got points during the game and the index of the strategy (receiving-aggressing-getting points) they used was “Qualified.” 3. The index was “Good” when our national table tennis players in class five rallied during the game, and the index of using the strategy was un-qualified. 4. Among the six variables of the Three-Stage Skill used by our national table tennis players in class five, the representative item was (X3) the index of getting scores which were earned when the players received, aggressed, and then got scores in the game. 5. Abstract:
碩士<br>國立體育大學<br>運動與健康科學學院<br>105<br>Research Backgrounds: Table tennis athletes usually posturize their necks and spine leaning forward to the paddle side, the high physical activity level combined with characteristics of posture and the side of gripping paddle could generate specific biomechanical changes, and chronic pains thus could be occurred. In the literature of the posture of table tennis, there were 73% female athletes have been diagnosed as scoliosis. Table tennis scoliosis is a general symptom, fewer studies concern the relevant factors of scoliosis, however. The purposes of the study are to understand the conditions of scoliosis to table tennis athletes, to explore the latent factors of scoliosis, and to prevent athletes from injuries then. Purposes: to explore how the relevant factors affect to elite female table tennis athletes injured by scoliosis, such as the interactions between the angle and the direction of scoliosis, and the length of playing table tennis, the side of gripping paddle, handedness, special play, the differences between the lengths of two legs, and BMI respectively. Methodology: Retrieving 36 female table tennis athletes from the health reports, examining the angle and direction of scoliosis, the differences between the lengths of two legs, the side of gripping paddle, handedness, and special play by appropriate statistical analyses. Results: the average angle of scoliosis are 10.69 degree within positive and negative errors 4.344 degree, the amount of the average angle of scoliosis and total angle are 12.31 within positive and negative errors 6.072 degree. There were 61% athletes diagnosed as scoliosis. The amount of the angle of scoliosis and total angle are significant correlated with the length of playing table tennis. There are significant differences between special play athletes and circle ball players in the conditions of the amount of the angle of scoliosis and total angle. The direction of scoliosis is significant correlated with the direction of the side of gripping paddle. The athletes with the different situations in handedness and the side of gripping paddle endure much amount of the angle of scoliosis and total angle than the ones with the same situations. Conclusions: most female table tennis athletes with over 10-degree scoliosis have played table tennis for 5 to 10 years, the study hence speculate that this phenomenon is related to the technical changes in playing and the recognition of athletic prevention. The conditions of scoliosis would be altered by the lengths of play, the differences between handedness and the side of gripping paddle, and special play; the direction of scoliosis is significant related to the side of gripping paddle. Abstract:
碩士<br>高雄師範大學<br>體育學系<br>99<br>The purpose of this study was to investigate upper limb strength between elite and general male college table-tennis players. The result could also be one reason to explain why the players’ skills can’t move ahead. Subject’s height (cm)、weight (kg)、hand grip strength and elbows、wrist and forearm muscle maximal strength were measured at 3 angular speed: 60、180 and 300 °/s by using Biodex system 4 PRO. The following results were found. (1) There was no significant difference of dominant hand’s grip between the two groups (p>.05); (2) Elite players have significant greater muscle strength of elbow joints extension muscle contraction than college students at 180°/s angular speed (p<.05). Elite players also have significant great muscle strength of elbow extension at 300°/s angular speed than the general college players and college students (p<.001). (3) There were no muscle strength significant differences among groups, when wrist joints flexion muscle contraction, at 60 °/s angular speed (p>.05). But the elite player have greater muscle strength when wrist joints flexion muscle contraction, at 180°/s and 300 °/s angular speed, than college students(p<.05). Elite college players have greater wrist joints extension muscle strength, at 60 °/s angular speed than the general college players(p<.05). Elite college players and general players have greater wrist joints extension muscle strength, at 180°/s and 300 °/s angular speed than the college students (p<.001). (4) There were no significant different in forearm pronation among groups. Elite players have significant greater supination muscle strength than the general players and college students at 300 °/s angular speed (p<.05). Elite players also have significant greater supination muscle strength than the college student at 60°/s and 180°/s angular speed (p<.05). The result shows lower performance comparing with other exercise items so it still has much to improve. Besides focusing on the table-tennis player’s technique, the enhancement of muscle strength should not be neglected. The study was to establish data of elite table-tennis players’ handgrip strengths and wish that could have assistances in working out exercise and rehabilitation plans and breakthroughs of sports scores in the future.

碩士<br>育達科技大學<br>資訊管理所<br>105<br>In recent years, the international community has held a number of international large-scale table tennis games; many of them have our players to participate in international plays for honor. But training first-class players is not easy. There will be a lot of factors in the process of the training interrupted. So this study is to train table tennis players as the goal to improve the quality of training. Because of this , our research is training the table tennis players as our goal. Through the literature review , it discovers the correlation construction surface and the factor. Then we use MDM(Modified Delphi Method)and AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process), determination important appraisal factor as our research method. Application of AHP to explore the training of table tennis players related literature is not much. However AHP through the comparison matrix and systematic procedures to solve specific problems has been successfully used in management, industry and other fields. Therefore, this study combines MDM expert questionnaires and AHP, as the goal, to identify the key factors affecting the training, and sort their factors of importance. The most important thing I find in this study is “Family factor”. In training a table tennis player “Cultivation Style” is the most important criteria. Therefore in the future training of the table tennis player, “Cultivation Style” can provide the player's motivation to participate. It also offers coaches to guide effective training methods and establish the relevant training strategies. This will effectively improve the quality and efficiency of player training.
