Abstract:

Abstract:
Abstract:
This article proposes a reading of three texts The Blind Kingdom (1990), Queen Pokou. Concerto for a sacrifice (2004) and Far from my Father (2010) written by the Ivorian author Véronique Tadjo, in order to examine the author's representation of, and reflexion on separation and division, be it within a nation, amongst groups, or in the heart of a family. In Tadjo's novelistic universe, such divisions often require the intervention of a female protagonist, whose own existence is deeply influenced by tensions and frictions between two opposing camps. I shall argue that the agency of these protagonists is never futile and may even point to a way to go beyond the original divisions. Tadjo's representation of division in these three texts goes beyond generic boundaries to open up a rich variety of perspectives on the problems she deals with. I shall demonstrate how the author draws on various genres such as poetry, the African folktale, the novel, as well as autofiction in order to engage the reader in a profound reflexion on the current state and future of the African continent.

Abstract:
This paper locates religion within the literary narratives of traumatogenic experiences such as war and genocide as depicted in the novels The Poor Christ of Bomba by Mongo Beti and Véronique Tadjo's The Shadows of Imana: Travels in the Heart of Rwanda. In spite of evident reference to the role played by religion in traumatic and traumatising encounters, it features simply as a footnote to the ethnic tensions that underpin these encounters. Drawing on the theoretical work of Kurtz (2014) and other scholars as well as casting a glance at anticolonial and postcolonial Francophone literatures, this paper argues that trauma in modern postcolonial Francophone literature is ubiquitous. It reveals itself in the post-independence contradictions and injustices as depicted by modern francophone authors and thinkers whose subject matter is largely dominated by such motifs as corruption, war, violence, insanity, rape, poverty, disillusionment, which all accommodate a direct challenge to religion. The absence of religiosity in trauma literature suggests a reversal of the socio-historical stereotype that frames Africans as highly religious, and whose opposition to religion is a result of enlightenment through education.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Like many coasts, coastal erosion is evident on all the Ivorian coast and is characterized by the destruction of physical assets (infrastructure, habitat and sightseeing). Especially in Grand-Lahou, it threatens a fishing village located on a strip of land 200 meters separating the Atlantic Ocean from the Tadjo lagoon and facing the mouth of the Bandama River. To contribute to the choice of sustainable coastal development in Grand-Lahou, this study aims to characterize the dynamics of the coastline by performing coastal erosion map locally for the best appreciation of the erosion phenomenon. To do this, the GIS which consisted of compilation of coastlines data from Landsat images from 1998, 2001, 2005, 2009, 2011 and 2014 in the study area. The dynamic of the coastline in this zone was done through the Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAW). The variations observed between 1998 and 2014 show a coastline fattening at an average rate of 2.09 m / year in the west of the river mouth before Lahou-Kpanda village and erosion with a speed of 0.84 m / year on rest of the shore after Lahou Kpanda village.

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:
N-doped graphene based on graphene oxide and 3,3′,4,4′-tetraaminodiphenyl oxide (TADPO) was obtained using a one-step hydrothermal process. The resulting materials were fully characterized using elemental analysis, infrared spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron micrographs, and transmission electron microscopy. The findings reveal that benzimidazole rings were formed during the reaction, and the mass content of nitrogen in the obtained material varied from 12.3% to 14.7%, depending on the initial concentration of TADPO. Owing to the redox activity of benzimidazole rings, the new N-doped graphene materials demonstrated a high specific capacitance, reaching 340 F g−1 at 0.1 A g−1, which was significantly higher than that of the sample of reduced graphene oxide obtained under similar conditions without the use of TADPO (169 F g−1 at 0.1 A g−1). The resulting material also exhibited good cyclic stability after 5000 cycles.

Geometry has shown that the architecture was an expression of man and a basic principle that were always presented on an architectural work. The research was conducted through two steps with the first step was to identified the Tadao Ando’s geometry design principle through a content analysis approach. Based on the textual review, Tadao Ando's geometry design principle was tend to select the simple geometric forms as the embodiment of the building shapes. An user spatial experiences were created through inter space relationships and interactions with the surrounding environment through the geometry and shape processing and became the central to his architectural work creation. In other words, pure geometry concept was the instrument to presented all of those. The second step was to compared Tadao Ando's geometry design principles in the monistic architecture to the pluralistic architecture catagories using a precedent analysis approach. The comparisons toward the geometrical principles were more complex and quite varied geometric shapes in pluralistic architecture while simple geometric shapes can be found in the monistic architecture,as well as interlinked circular paths in pluralistic architecture which shaped by the ‘direction wall’ rather than a simple circulation path in the monistic architecture, and the wall-formed angle was a multiple of 15° in monistic architecture but varying angles in the pluralistic architecture.

Abstract:

Divine Punishment or Natural Phenomenon? Abstract:
d-Propranolol eliminates the increased adenine nucleoside release from hypoperfused hearts [R. D. Wangler, D. F. DeWitt, and H. V. Sparks, Am. J. Physiol. 247 (Heart Circ. Physiol. 16): H330-H336, 1984]. To determine whether d-propranolol reduces adenosine formation or adenosine release into the vascular compartment, we measured myocardial tissue adenosine (TADO). Decreased formation would lower TADO, whereas decreased release would elevate TADO. Reduction of perfusion pressure by 50% reduced coronary flow (CF), venous oxygen tension (PVO2), and myocardial oxygen consumption (MVO2) by approximately 40, 25, and 35%, respectively. Total adenosine and inosine released during 30 min of hypoperfusion increased 10- and 5-fold, respectively. Also, TADO increased from 2.68 +/- 0.37 to 5.17 +/- 0.67 nmol/g (P less than 0.05). In the presence of d-propranolol, the same reduction in perfusion pressure caused a similar decrease in CF and MVO2. d-Propranolol eliminated the release of adenosine and inosine associated with hypoperfusion. TADO after 30 min of hypoperfusion plus d-propranolol was not significantly increased (3.27 +/- 0.40 nmol/g) and was significantly less than hypoperfused hearts. When severe hypoperfusion was created by reducing perfusion pressure 75%, adenosine release still did not increase if d-propranolol was present. When adenosine release was plotted as a function of oxygen supply-consumption, they were related in a hyperbolic fashion. Despite the severity of hypoperfusion, in the presence of d-propranolol the supply-to-consumption ratio was similar to that of the control perfusion group (no drug). We conclude that d-propranolol blocks nucleoside formation during hypoperfusion by reducing oxygen demand such that a reduction of oxygen supply no longer stimulates adenosine formation.

Abstract:
Abstract: Proportion is one of the elements in the most basic geometric context in the process of designing an architectural work and is also one of the creativity-triggering instruments for an architect. The proportion concerns the ratio - ratio - of the geometric shape within an architectural composition. This study examines the pattern of proportions by Ando in the process of architecture to create a building, which characterizes the architecture of an Ando during his career. In this research, the content analysis method is used at several stages of research that is in the stage of finding Tadao Ando geometry design concept which is done through the textual study from several written sources and on the study of the intertextual study of the whole research samples in the form of Tadao Ando's works. this precedent method will be used in the analysis of the formative study stage, where an analysis of the work drawings such as the floor plan is performed and appears using the general theory of proportion and geometry as the basis for searching for proportions in the geometrical context of Ando's works. From the findings the ratio of proportions can be summed up several things: the dimension of length is a multiple or a derivative of the dimensions of width, width: the length where a: (x) a and (x) a: (x) a, x is a multiplier unit (0.5, 1, 1.25, 1.5, 2, 3, and 4) Keywords: Proportion, Geometric, Tadao Ando Abstrak: Proporsi merupakan salah satu elemen dalam konteks geometri yang paling mendasar di dalam proses perancangan suatu karya arsitektur dan juga merupakan salah satu instrumen pemicu kreatifitas bagi seorang arsitek.

Abstract:
The origin of the water supply system of Tajo-Segura, in 1932, goes back to when it was the unique possible solution to the shortage of hydric resources in the Confederación Hidrográfica del Segura (CHS). Its energy consumption is not homogeneous; it could be bigger or smaller, depending on the different water destination. The energy cost average of water of the Tajo-Segura water supply system is 1.21 kWh/m3. The energy consumption of desalination depends on the type of process used to desalinate the water, the time of operation and the capacity of the plant, and also on the density of water to treat. In any case, the energy consumption of the desalination ranges between 3.8 and 4.2 kWh/m3; obviously that is bigger than those obtained of the Tajo-Segura water supply system (1.21 kWh/m3).
