Predmet ovog istraživanja su vrste iz<em>  Merodon  aureus,  M.  nanus  i  M. ruficornis  </em>grupe i <em> M.  avidus  </em>kompleksa sa područja Palearktika. Usled izuzetne morfolo&scaron;ke sličnosti pomenutih vrsta, kori&scaron;ćene su tri različite metode u cilju utvrđivanja  prisustva skrivenih taksona i definisanja granica vrsta. Celem niniejszej pracy, na którą składa się cykl czterech artykułów opublikowanych w recenzowanych czasopismach, była analiza zespołów organicznych cyst Dinoflagellata pochodzących z utworów górnego kampanu i najniższego mastrychtu (górna kreda) profilu środkowej Wisły (centralna Polska), oraz ich interpretacja taksonomiczna, biostratygraficzna i paleoekologiczna. Wśród bogatych zespołów cyst Dinoflagellata (129 taksonów w randze gatunku lub podgatunku), cztery gatunki zostały zidentyfikowane jako nowe, mianowicie Callaiosphaeridium bicoronatum, Odontochitina dilatata, Oligosphaeridium araneum

This species Paradiplozoon kimberleyensis n. sp., was initially found on the gills of the large mouth yellow fish Barbus kimberleyensis Gilchrist and Thompson, 1913 and later also on the.gills of the small mouth yellow fish Barbus aeneus (Burchell, 1822).
