Full textNum tecido empresarial composto essencialmente por PMEs, como é o caso do mercado português, a atracção e retenção de talentos é uma necessidade emergente. As organizações devem portanto ter a capacidade de desenvolver estratégias de atracção e de retenção de talentos de forma a conseguirem distinguirem-se da concorrência e ganharem vantagem competitiva. Desta forma, o estudo tem como objectivo analisar a gestão de talentos em PMEs - como atraem e retêm os talentos. Foram estudadas 8 organizações na área da consultoria de recursos humanos. Utilizando os designs da Grounded Theory, emergiu um modelo que explica as principais estratégias de atracção e de retenção de talentos por parte das organizações. Através deste modelo foi possível verificar que as estratégias de atracção desenhadas pelas organizações baseiam-se no desenvolvimento de um processo de recrutamento, colocando anúncios em sites de emprego ou procurando candidatos através do linkedin de forma a dar a conhecer a organização e de forma a atrair os talentos disponíveis no mercado. No momento da atracção, as organizações ressalvaram a importância do Employer Branding. Foi também possível verificar que as organizações têm uma maior preocupação com o desenvolvimento de estratégias de retenção do que de atracção e que as suas principais estratégias estão relacionadas com a aplicação de um modelo de avaliação de desempenho, com o acompanhamento do trabalho dos colaboradores assente em feedback regular e sistémico e atribuição de benefícios salariais aos colaboradores.
In a business structure consisting mainly by “SME’s”, such as Portuguese market, the attraction and retention of talents is an emerging need. Therefore, organizations must be able to develop strategies for attracting and retaining talents in order to distinguish themselves from the completion and gain competitive advantage. The study focuses on analyzing talent management in “SME’s - how to attract and retain talents. 8 organizations in the field of human resources consultancy were studied. Using the designs of Grounded Theory, emerged a model that explains the main attraction and retention talent strategies used by the organizations. Through this model it is possible to observe that the attraction strategies developed by the organizations are based in developing a recruitment process by placing ads on job sites or looking for candidates through linkedin to expose the organization and to attract the talents available in the market. Upon appeal, the organizations mentioned the importance of Employer Branding. It was also possible to verify that the organizations have a greater concern with the development of retention strategies in comparison with attraction strategies. Their main strategies for the retention of the employees are based on the application of a performance evaluation model to monitor the work of the established employees with a regular and systematic feedback and assignment of wage benefits.

Full textThe reconstruction of the post-Glacial vegetation changes and their magnitude is based on a new data (geological-geomorphological survey, pollen, plant macrofossil and 14C date) obtained from Talša Lake, northern Lithuania. The Talša Lake lies in the deepest part of the typical tunnel-valley of subglacial type crossing the marginal formations of the Late Weichselian Glaciation. Multiple sediment cores of 7,18 m depth consisting of limnic and biogenic sediments were obtained from the northwestern part of the Talša Lake (55°56¢53²N, 23°20¢19²E, 103 m a.s.l.). The chronology of identified post-Glacial vegetation variations is based on the results of 14C dating and biostratigraphical information. The time scale was constructed on the basis of linear interpolation between calibrated 14C dates (the midpoint of the ±2σ) and regionally dated limits of chronozones. Before 13700 cal BP area was covered with tundra-type herb vegetation with the patchy occurrence of Betula and possibly Pinus. Such vegetation is typical of a cold and dry climate. Terrigenous sediments were settling in the lakes. The palaeobotanical record indicates a continuing forestation of the region with open Pinus forest during 13700 cal BP–12600 cal BP. Thermokarst processes and solifluction took place. Climate was warmer and more humid. We will take a closer look at how he used the camera while filming and cutting, how he structured his stories to allow for the optimal amount of slapstick gags, how he would make use of different contrasts, how he structured his sound compositions and finally how he would act both in front and behind the camera so we then can apply this on a short film of our making.

Full textThe purpose of this essay is to examine how Elin Wägner depicts the middle-aged woman who lives in the country in Sweden, in the 1920’s. The question at issue is: What problems and what subjects for rejoicing does she raise? My aim is to try to understand the women’s situation, as well as how Elin Wägner describes the situation in her four novels from the 1920’s: Den namnlösa (1922), Silverforsen (1924), Natten till söndag (1926) och Svalorna flyga högt (1929). At the same time I intend to compare the woman of the 1920’s to the situation of women today.
I am writing from a feministic literary theory called “omläsning” according to the description of Gunilla Domellöf. In other words, a re-reading of the text with new eyes, in order to let the view of the woman become more visible. The method I have used is Hans Robert Jauss’ “Rezeptionsästhetik”.
I came to the conclusion that the novels describe the reality in a plain way, possibly somewhat coloured by Elin Wägner’s feministic starting point. She is commited to the public debate on problems of modern society as well as very familiar with the woman question. Her main themes are love, marriage, divorce and self-realization.

Full textThe dissertation is divided into four separated parts.
Part 1 is a summary of the three following parts, supplemented with components from a more general point of view.
Part 2 deals with the shaping of sea-going vessels, delivered between 1935 and 1995. All of them with some form of connection to Sweden.
Part 3 is an analysis of the architecture of the white wooden fishing boat from the west of the Swedish coast.
Part 4 is a similar analysis of the steel fishing boat.
The term "ship architecture" has been chosen in the dissertation, instead of "design" or "naval architecture". Naval architecture is a wide-ranging subject which however does not embrace that which normally is included in the concept "architecture" as it is employed by art historians and architects. Design is usually an industrial production in great quantity of identical objects. While ships, with few exceptions, are unique like buildings.
Ship architecture is a subject which has barely been treated, either in Sweden or abroad.
The source material used in this study are the "general arrangements", blueprints, published in periodicals and the fotographs of newly-built ships. The main source has been The Scandinavian Shipping Gazette, which has been published weekly on a more or less regular basis since its inception in 1905. A number of architectural motifs are each dealt with separately.
The conclusion of the study is that two separate attitudes to ship architecture can be discerned during the period under investigation. During the first one the appearance of the ship has been significant for both builders and owners. The necessary skills have been readily available.
During the latter one (a shift occuring in the mid-1960s), interest in the appearance of the ship has disappeared, instead only effiency and economy are demanded. There is still a desire for aesthetics in passenger liners, but by that time, much of the old skilled workmanship has been lost.
However, there need remain any doubt about the willingness of the shipyards also today to agree to revisions for the sake of aesthetic appearance. If there was any interest in doing so and if it was delivered at an early stage of the newbuilding process.

A oportunidade de estágio foi possibilitada pela empresa Kcs IT, uma empresa de consultoria de sistemas de informação, que me acolheu no período compreendido entre 14 de Janeiro de 2013 e 15 de Abril de 2013. O estágio focou-se substancialmente nas atividades relacionadas com os processos de gestão do talento da empresa, com maior incidência nos processos de acompanhamento dos colaboradores. Desta forma, o presente trabalho, inicia-se com a revisão da literatura na área da gestão do talento, fazendo-se uma apresentação dos pontos fundamentais da temática. Numa segunda parte prossegue-se com a caracterização da empresa onde o estágio decorreu, a descrição dos procedimentos adotados na área da gestão do talento pela mesma, bem como as atividades desenvolvidas ao longo do estágio. Por último é apresentado o cruzamento da revisão de literatura com aquilo que se faz dentro da empresa, bem como uma conclusão que realça as mais-valias do estágio curricular como processo de conclusão do mestrado.
Aiming to consolidate and put into practice some of the knowledge learned throughout the academic Master of Human Resource Management and being the internship report one of the possibilities for the final paperwork, I decided for the internship. The internship opportunity was made possible by the company Kcs IT, a consulting firm in information systems, who welcomed me in the period between January 14th, 2013 to the April 15th, 2013. The internship focused substantially on activities related to the processes of talent management of the company, with the highest incidence in monitoring employees. Therefore, this work begins with a review of the literature in the talent management area, by making a presentation of the key points of the subject. In the second part I'll proceed with the company characterization where the internship took place, a description of the procedures adopted by the company in the talent management area as well as the activities along the internship. Finally I'll present the interlacement of literature review with what is done within the company as well as a conclusion of the highlights virtues of the curricular process as an ending of this academic Master degree.

Full textThe current market reflects a global environment that is complex, highly competitive and volatile to organizations. These organizations thrive trough modern challenges that are related to the lack of well qualified and specialized professionals. These organizations left the role of job offering and start to invest on attraction, development and retention of talents. International and national research, from the late years of the decade of 1990 and years 2000, dedicated to people management sector frequently point that to remain on this reality of increase on global competition for jobs and search for talent, the organizations would have to invest to attract, develop and retain the best professionals. On that context, this dissertation aim to contribute to the literature of Human Resources and Talent Management, regarding conceptual diversity on talent, its management and theoretical approaches. The main goal of this study was the analysis of the relation between academic production and its use on organizations, its management practices and concepts of talent on Administration. This study can be classified as exploratory and descriptive. For empiric data analysis, statistical descriptive analysis was employed as well as content analysis; both supported with the use of the software NVivo. Part of the study comprehend a literature review on Talent trough diverse fields of knowledge and Administration, with that, it was possible to put on context the academic production on Strategic Human Resources Management. It was possible to conclude that the term Talent is fluid and particular to the medium were it is presented and that Talent Management consist of a configuration of practices to manage the talents on the organization. At the empiric fase, 471 companies that have operations on Brazil were analyzed trough a survey. These were categorized due to its practices on formal Talent Management and its inclusive (everybody is a talent) and exclusive (not everybody is a talent) approaches. The companies that declared to have a formal program of Talent Management represent 75% of sample total and are the majority in what concern the formalization of strategic guidelines to human and organizational resources. People employed on these companies have higher education, are younger and have been on the company longer than those on companies without a formal program to Talent Management. The practice of exclusive or differentiation of this program show itself as emergent and strategic on the national scenario. Considering the literature on this theme, the analysis of the definitions of Talent declared by the companies revealed that there is a talent definition to each company, but there are terms that are common on these different definitions. From that, was generated a list with the most frequent words by company category. The joint analysis of this list with the literature on Talent and Talent Management has made possible to consolidate two Talent attribute categories: Identifiers and Qualifiers. With this results, it was possible to notice the organizational intention in practice Talent Management, been its development a challenge to both academic and corporative fields. The growth of publications related to the subject on the field of Administration and the emerging of formal practice by organizations with operations on Brazil has become clear. This study is limited to descriptive analysis and the use of secondary data; therefore it was not possible to proceed with in depth analysis. It is suggested to future studies the use of techniques such as longitudinal case study and the pursue of themes such as the identification of how companies can operate the Talent Management in a strategic way and the possibility to early identification of Talent in Management.

Full textA Autoridade de Segurança Alimentar e Económica (ASAE) é responsável pela avaliação e comunicação dos riscos na cadeia alimentar, bem como pela gestão dos riscos, através da realização de ações de fiscalização e prevenção do cumprimento da legislação. Em Portugal, é a autoridade que tem atuado em matéria de Fraude Alimentar. O comércio de carnes e seus produtos, trata-se de uma área onde se verificam repetidamente taxas de incumprimento elevadas, tanto a nível da fiscalização, como a nível de controlo dos géneros alimentícios colocados no mercado. Aliando esse facto à necessidade de controlo das práticas fraudulentas, bem como a denúncia de janeiro de 2017, surgiu o presente tema. Este estudo tem como objetivo avaliar o cumprimento dos requisitos legais previstos no setor retalhista (talhos) e ainda investigar evidências de práticas fraudulentas associadas à comercialização de carne picada, como o caso do uso de sulfitos e substituição de espécies.

Full textWork Environment problems at construction worksites are a common topic for discussions. The construction industry is one of the most dangerous industries in Sweden. The industry consists of about 290 000 workers (2009) and the investment was 250 billion SEK. This report will investigate the risks of the work environment and the causes of the fatal accidents. The study includes review and analysis of occupational injury statistics, investigation of the occupational accidents made by the work environment authority and interviews. It also includes review of work responsibilities and what type of responsibilities and functions the participant has in the work environment. The result shows that the construction worksites are one of the most dangerous workplaces. The statistics do not reflect reality and important factors are excluded. Work from height and with using machines and tools are the most hazardous types of work. The most common fatal accident is a fall from height. The most common cause of fatal occupational accidents is organizational. Work responsibilities are clear: the employer has the main responsibility for the work environment. The Work Environment Act is the basis for the regulations that Swedish work environment authorities give out. Breaking the law or regulation may not lead to seriously consequences, because it’s a long process before punishment can be divided. The issues in the work environment are more extensive in small companies and human error is much due to accidents. Enforcing these laws and giving the inspectors more eligibility than they now have will achieve a better working environment and safer construction sites.

Full textEn la zona Norte de Chile se encuentra el Desierto de Atacama, una extensión geográfica en donde el desarrollo biológico se encuentra prácticamente ausente y solo es posible en sectores puntuales, con características ambientales, principalmente hídricas, altamente singulares. Debido a esto, a través del tiempo, se ha considerado el desierto como un territorio difícil de habitar y casi incapaz de albergar vida. Sin embargo, hay vida en el desierto y de una particularidad sorprendente en flora, fauna y asentamientos que han podido adaptarse a los recursos que ofrece el desierto. Por ende, el agua se convierte en el bien más preciado, y la necesidad por conseguirla ha permitido la creación de diversos métodos de obtención de este recurso a lo largo del tiempo, mientras que los ecosistemas de zonas áridas han subsistido de manera natural en base a la adaptación a este bien. Una muestra importante de ecosistemas creados en territorios sin acceso al agua a nivel terrestre son los oasis de niebla, donde la vida se sustenta gracias al agua que se encuentra en la niebla costera, conocida como “camanchaca” en Chile. En el desierto, se presentan varios casos a lo largo de la costa del norte, por ende, en esta propuesta el objetivo es indagar la vida generada en estos lugares para aportar al conocimiento, tanto de la obtención del agua como de su utilización y llegar a establecer la importancia de estos sitios que permita ahondar en su potencial y conservación. Se debe considerar que los sistemas áridos son especialmente sensibles a los cambios climáticos de diferente intensidad y tener en cuenta la frágil y particular condición actual de los sistemas de oasis producto del proceso histórico de aridización que podría ser acelerado por factores antrópicos o por el propio factor natural que determina su existencia. Paposo es una caleta de pescadores que se ubica a 50 km al norte de Taltal en la comuna de Antofagasta. Poblado que alberga un oasis de niebla en sus alturas de alto potencial, del cual existe escasa información en la actualidad y se encuentra en proceso de ser una reserva nacional consolidada, pero que se encuentra afectada por la desertificación, principalmente en su vegetación. Donde sus habitantes destacan las bondades que entrega su mar, la belleza de su vegetación y su niebla costera que envuelve los cerros. El proyecto busca ser un punto investigativo utilizando el agua de la niebla para la regeneración y difusión de este particular paisaje, el cual tiene por objetivo estudiar el sector, funcionando también como punto de divulgación científica y productiva para la población, y que a partir de éste se detonen diversas actividades asociadas.

Full textSyftet med min uppsats är att analysera på vilket sätt Nanni Moretti framställer mediekritik, vilken som är denna mediekritik, vilka teorier som möjligen kan spåras i denna mediekritik och vad som enligt Moretti blir den demokratiska konsekvensen av italiensk mediekultur. Jag kommer även att gå in på den filmstil han använder, vad som kan vara ursprunget till Morettis filmiska metod och hur detta används i formulerandet av Morettis mediekritik. Vilken är den mediekritik Nanni Moretti uttrycker implicit och explicit i Caro Diario och Aprile, och hur ställer han sig i förhållande till gamla mediekritiska teorier? På vilket sätt får hans filmstil en roll i mediekritiken och vari ligger denna filmstils ursprung?
Resultatet av studien är att jag funnit tydliga spår från medieforskare som Jürgen Habermas, Pierre Bourdieu, Hans Magnus Enzensberger och Douglas Kellner i den kritik som av Moretti uttrycks genom filmerna. De teorier som dessa forskare formulerat, liksom äldre mediaforskning, kritiseras samtidigt av Moretti och han visar i sina filmer en metod att undkomma de demokratiska problem som en dominerande mediekultur innebär. Det jag tillför gällande Morettis filmstil är det att han i filmerna använder sig av en Brechtiansk metod som är en del av den filmstil som tidigare forskare formulerat som ”cinema of thought”, och som blir extra fruktbar i hans artikulerande av mediekritik.

Full textDetta examensarbete syftar till att öka förståelsen och kunskapen kring frågor som har betydelse vid ombyggnation av äldre kontorsfastigheter till bostäder. Den stigande efterfrågan på bostäder har under de senaste åren resulterat i ett behov och en ökning av kostnadseffektiva bostadsprojekt. Behovet har lett till att fastighetsägare vill bygga om gamla kontorshus till flerbostadshus. Fallstudien i Lycksele genomfördes i nära kontakt med konsultföretaget TM (Teknisk Merkantil)- Konsult, vilka har verksamhet på orten. Ombyggnation innebär vanligtvis en kombination av gamla och nya idéer för att tillfredsställa ett behov och är ett brett ämne inom byggnadsutformning där de fysiska byggnadsegenskaperna är betydelsefulla. Det här arbetet utreder olika möjligheter att bygga om och modernisera hus från 1950-talet med hänsyn till tillgänglighet, ljud, brand och energi. Tillämpade metoder i arbetet utgörs av vetenskapliga litteraturstudier samt en fallstudie som innehåller intervjuer och skissarbete på en kontorsbyggnad i Lycksele. Metoderna används för att svara på frågeställningar som är generellt ställda och kan användas vid andra kontorsfastigheter som byggs om till bostäder. I fallstudien tas olika alternativ fram med möjliga lösningar till ombyggnation av fastigheten Mobacka 2 till bostadshus. Fastigheten Mobacka 2 har en karaktär och konstruktion som är tidstypisk för 1950-talet vilket ger förståelse och kunskap om de frågor som uppstår vid ombyggnad av äldre kontorsfastighet till flerbostadshus. Det är ett stort projekt att omvandla en f.d. kontorsbyggnad till flerbostadshus och det finns mycket att tänka på vid en ombyggnation, slutsatserna av rapporten är att: Den inre tillgängligheten på respektive plan kan hanteras. Tillgänglighet till andra plan får som konsekvens mer svårhanterade åtgärder beträffande hissars placering. De tekniska förändringar, som behövs för att tillgodose dagens krav för ljud, brand och energi kräver kompletteringar i och på konstruktionen. Full textThe talent management is one of the main concerns of Human Resources (HR) managers, however there is much confusion in this regard. One of the first issues raised is how to define who is talented. Having defined the concept of talent there is the discussion on how to manage these talents and the effective deployment of talent management programs. This paper aims to contribute to the understanding of talent management practices in organizations by studying the concept of talent used, the practice itself and the implementation difficulties. Companies that have a formal system of talent management were selected for the study. The field research was a qualitative case study with in-depth interviews in companies with formal system of talent management. The main results obtained from the data collected were that the talent concept is centered on the discussion of the scope and duration of the program. In the the scope the discussion is how inclusive or exclusive the program should be, in duration the discussion lies in the time that the company expects the return of his talent management program. A short-term view suggests talent management practices that enhance the acquisition of talented professionals already ready, on the other hand, a long-term view suggests talent management practices that enhance the development of internal talent. The findings on the practices indicated that they focus on succession planning practices, creating a pool of talent and training and development. In discussing the implementation of the programs, the results showed the importance of line managers and the influence of the context for successful implementation.

Full textThis work aims to recognize and demonstrate through the expectations and wishes of the new banking employee what they think about the future of labor market. How to plan their careers, their image for the bank firm and what is more important in their ambition to stay or leave the institution. Bank industry should improve its relationship with their customers, as a matter of fact there is an increase even in concentration and competition by the institutions. More over, banks should empower and transform their employees into customer relationship agents. With technological changes and the transformation, in the last decade, of the labor market characteristic, financial firms are facing a greater competition from other careers, so that their talents are disputed by other segments. In this new reality of greater concentration, intense competition, greater demands from customers and careers competition banks have been given a high turnover in their early careers. What hinders the improvement of their career. We made use of participant observation with active participation in the community studied, making use of field notes, as well as conducting informal interviews and focused. In this context the research were focuses in employees with a maximum of 5 years of banking work in a large financial institution, which are at the initial positions of the banking career in public services agencies of the Sao Paulo city and specializing on serving the public universities. The main result of this study is that all banking employees have already received offers to switch jobs, in their short careers. In other words, banking employees are harassed by other corporate companies. Thus, in the case of an improvement in the Brazilian labor market, the bank industry will have difficult to retain their talents. In our research it became clear that today when banking employees are invited for another job and do not accept, it depends on the opportunities offers by the bank, on the vision of the future and greatly the image and brand of the institution. The banking employees knows the thru value of their salary and will only be seduced by a good pay offer, if it comes with benefits and the image of the new company should be at least the same of the bank where the employee works. Nowadays, a good pay offer should come together with a career plan. The research focus on workers up to 29 years old whom are at the moment of future decisions, for them is not enough just having a good financial offer or benefits or a good corporate image, the company must join all of this with future career s perspective
Este trabalho visa identificar, através das expectativas de funcionários em início de carreira bancária, o que pensam do futuro no mercado de trabalho, como planejam a carreira, se reconhecem algum esforço da instituição em retê-los e, o que é mais importante, a perspectiva para ficar ou sair do banco. Os bancos precisam melhorar o relacionamento com os seus clientes uma vez que aumenta a concentração e a concorrência entre as instituições torna-se mais acirrada. Para superar o impasse, há necessidade de capacitar e transformar seus colaboradores em agentes de relacionamento junto à clientela. Com as mudanças tecnológicas e as transformações ocorridas na última década, o mercado de trabalho bancário passou a sofrer, também, concorrência de outras carreiras, fazendo com que os seus talentos sejam disputados por outros segmentos. Nesta nova realidade, com grande concentração, forte concorrência, maiores exigências dos clientes e carreiras concorrentes, os bancos passaram a ter um alto turnover em suas carreiras iniciais. O que dificulta na melhoria do atendimento. Foi realizada uma pesquisa de observação participante, com participação ativa na comunidade pesquisada, fazendo uso de anotações, notas de campo, bem como realizando entrevistas informais e focalizadas. Neste contexto, abordamos jovens com, no máximo, cinco anos de atuação em uma grande instituição financeira, em cargos iniciais da carreira bancária, em agências da cidade de São Paulo especializadas no atendimento ao público universitário. O aspecto a destacar é que todos os entrevistados receberam ofertas para trocar de emprego, em suas curtas carreiras profissionais. Os funcionários de banco são assediados pela concorrência e por outras empresas. No caso de uma melhora do mercado de trabalho brasileiro, os bancos terão cada vez mais dificuldades para reter os seus talentos. Ficou patente que o atual empregado de banco, quando é convidado e não aceita trocar de emprego, baseia a decisão nas oportunidades que imagina ter no próprio banco, demonstrando boa visão do futuro e valorização da imagem e da marca da instituição. O funcionário bancário tem noção do valor do seu salário e somente será seduzido por uma boa oferta salarial, acompanhada por benefícios que entendem ser direito. Além disso, a imagem da empresa que faz a proposta tem que ser, no mínimo, a mesma do banco onde está trabalhando e é necessário que venha acompanhada de um plano de carreira. Foram ouvidas pessoas com até 29 anos de idade, que estão no momento de decisão do futuro pretendido. Para este contingente, não basta atender uma das condições, seja uma boa proposta financeira ou boa imagem. Acreditam que somente se todas as premissas forem estará modulado um cenário de boas perspectivas futuras

Full textO tema do Employer Branding tem recebido cada vez mais atenção nos últimos anos, quer ao nível da pesquisa académica, quer ao nível das consultoras de Recursos Humanos. Com a redução das taxas de desemprego e o aumento da competitividade, assiste-se também a uma crescente preocupação com a retenção de colaboradores. Assim sendo, optou-se por efetuar um estudo exploratório cujo objetivo é analisar de que forma o Employer Branding tem impacto na retenção de talentos em Portugal. Ou seja, procurou-se analisar em que medida a perceção que as pessoas têm da reputação de uma organização enquanto empregador influencia a sua intenção de saída ou permanência na mesma. Na realização deste estudo foi utilizada a metodologia quantitativa através da aplicação de um questionário online. As respostas obtidas (N=141) foram analisadas com recurso ao coeficiente de correlação de Pearson e ao teste de mediação e moderação de Hayes. Tendo em conta os resultados obtidos, por um lado, foi possível confirmar uma relação positiva entre o Employer Branding e o Compromisso Organizacional. Por outro lado, foi possível comprovar que o Employer Branding e o Compromisso Organizacional têm uma relação negativa com a Intenção de Saída. Por fim, verificou-se que a relação entre o Employer Branding e a Intenção de Saída é parcialmente moderada pelo Compromisso Organizacional.
Employer Branding has been receiving growing attention in recent years both in the academic field as well as in the Human Resources consultant field. With the reduction of the unemployment rates we see a heightening concern over retention. This being the case it was decided to pursue an exploratory study to analyse the impact of Employer Branding on talent retention in Portugal, which is we sought to understand how a person's perception of a company as an employer affects their intention to leave or stay with that company. In conducting this study we used the quantitative methodology using an online questionnaire. We obtained N=141 responses that were analysed with the Pearson's correlation coefficient and the Hayes mediation and moderation test. According to the results it was possible to confirm, on one hand, a positive relation between Employer Branding and Organizational Commitment. On the other hand, it was possible to confirm that both Employer Branding and Organizational Commitment have a negative relation with the Exit Intention. Finally, we confirmed that the relation between Employer Branding and the Exit Intention is partially moderated by the Organizational Commitment.

Full textThis thesis focuses on study of the employment market for graduates from the Master Mariner degree that graduated in 2010, 2013 and 2016. It is a comparison between the three years of graduation within two Swedish universities that offer the Master Mariner programme. Data collection with combined quantitative and qualitative techniques within a mixed-mode study. Results show a majority occupied within the maritime sector, although vessel-based employment has decreased compared to past studies and redundancy is an emerging element. The percentage occupied within the vessel-based sector is higher in Kalmar Maritime Academy, Linnaeus University, compared to Chalmers University, the results from which show a higher concentration in shore-based occupation. The conclusion of this thesis is that the employment market for graduates from maritime institutions in Sweden is undergoing change.
