Our focus is the formal analysis of tail bounds that aims at finding a tight asymptotic upper bound $$u \ge \Pr [T\ge \kappa ]$$ u ≥ Pr [ T ≥ κ ] . First, we show that under a non-discriminatory insurance assumption, it is optimal for everybody to equally share all risk in the market. This gives rise to a new concept of a contingent premium which collects the premia ex-post after the losses are realised.

The VG are explicitly discretized in the CFD mesh, within the use of the overset grid method. A dedicated mesh generator developed at ONERA has been improved together with an all-in-one computational set-up, allowing parametric investigations for VG arrangement, shape, position, and size effects. The methodology has been applied to a down-scaled GOAHEAD-like wind-tunnel model, for drag reduction by passive flow control on the backdoor surface at cruise-fligh

Abstract:
Finite element method is used to approximately solve a class of linear time-invariant, time-fractional-order diffusion equation formulated by the non-classical Fick law and a “long-tail” power kernel. In our derivation, “long-tail” power kernel relates the matter flux vector to the concentration gradient while the power-law relates the mean-squared displacement to the Gauss white noise. This work contributes a numerical analysis of a fully discrete numerical approximation using the space Galerkin finite element method and the approximation property of the Caputo time fractional derivative of a

Abstract:
CLPR’s policy brief on the Devadasi practice in States like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra investigates the prevalence of the Devadasi system and reviews the implementation of legislation prohibiting the practice. The policy brief pays close attention to the intersectional discrimination faced by Devadasi women due to their caste, class, and gender and suggests a range of recommendations from statutory amendments to regular empirical studies and training programs to strengthen the working of the legislation.

Abstract:
In this report, we examine the impacts of the pandemic and policy responses to it, focusing on Indigenous Peoples (IPs) in the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, which spans Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala. Our analysis reveals that the pandemic and accompanying lockdowns produced new forms of exclusions. It widened existing socio-economic fissures and brought into sharp relief social security systems which were already strained. For example, a widening of the existing digital divide that excluded Adivasi students from online education and homogenous policy interventions that often reproduce inequit
