Abstract:
This paper is a case study of the Tangkhul community, one of the major Naga tribes living in Manipur's Ukhrul district. It emphasizes how English education as a whole sheds light on communities that were "animistic," "barbaric," and "savage." The discussion progresses from the beginning, when English language and literature were introduced to the community by a Scottish missionary named William Pettigrew in 1896, to its current state. The missionary was spreading the gospel, but he had to cultivate the English language and literature in the process, which led to enlightenment. Looking at the current situation, one can realize the refinement that has spread among the Tangkhuls, and that will continue through the English language and literature directly or indirectly.

Ukhrul district of Manipur is a hilly region predominantly inhabited by the Tangkhul tribe. The Tangkhul people of this hilly region are mainly dependent on the forest and are quiet familiar with local herbs found in the village surroundings and forest areas not only for their food but also provide a major part of the medicine for the treatment of various diseases and ailments especially for the poor people living in the district.Recent ethnomedicinal survey (2016 – 2017) among the Tangkhul community revealed the use of 35 species of angiosperms, covering 34 genera and 25 families which they use to treat muscular sprain.The present study was carried out through structured questionnaires in consultations with the elders and Tangkhul practitioners.Some significant medicinal plants which are used by the Tangkhul tribe for the treatment of muscular sprain are Argyreia nervosa, Cyperus rotundus, Equisetum ramosissinum,Homskioldia sanguine,Mikania cordata, Xylosma longifolia, etc. Plantation of medicinal plant species in home gardens and farm areas has shown its commercial potential and steps for conserving economically significant diverse plants of this hilly region.

Abstract:
SummaryThe prevalence of overweight/obesity is increasing worldwide. Although countries like India are typically thought of as having a high prevalence of undernutrition, significant proportions of overweight/obese now co-exist with the undernourished. This study aims to find the prevalence of overweight/obesity, and its association with socioeconomic change, among Tangkhul women in India. The cross-sectional study was carried out among 346 Tangkhul women aged 20–70 years, who were divided into five 10-year age groups. Mean BMI was found to be lowest among the youngest age group, and it increased with age until the age of 59 and then declined. The prevalence of overweight and obesity was found to be 27.1%, as assessed from the Asian cut-off point. Although the prevalence of obesity (2.0%) was low when compared with Indian non-tribal female populations, the prevalence of overweight (25.1%) was not far behind. Overweight and obesity were found to be associated with age, marital status, physical activity level, lifestyle and improvement in socioeconomic status, especially occupation and income. When compared with urban non-tribal Indian females, who have a higher socioeconomic status, the prevalence of overweight/obesity among Tangkhul females is lower, indicating its association with socioeconomic status. Tangkhul Naga is a population where the majority are believed to be thin traditionally owing to the difficult hilly terrain and their physically active lifestyle. With urbanization and economic development, nutritional transition, improved socioeconomic status and an increasingly sedentary lifestyle have been observed, which have contributed to the increasing prevalence of overweight/obesity among Tangkhul Naga women.

Abstract East Tusom is a Tibeto-Burman language of Manipur, India, belonging to the Tangkhulic group. While it shares some innovations with the other Tangkhulic languages, it differs markedly from “Standard Tangkhul” (which is based on the speech of Ukhrul town). Past documentation is limited to a small set of hastily transcribed forms in a comparative reconstruction of Tangkhulic rhymes (Mortensen & Miller 2013; Mortensen 2012). This paper presents the first substantial sketch of an aspect of the language: its (descriptive) phonetics and phonology. The data are based on recordings of an extensive wordlist (730 items) and one short text, all from one fluent native speaker in her mid-twenties. We present the phonetic inventory of East Tusom and a phonemicization, with exhaustive examples. We also present an overview of the major phonological patterns and generalizations in the language. Of special interest are a “placeless nasal” that is realized as nasalization on the preceding vowel unless it is followed by a consonant, and numerous plosive-fricative clusters (where the fricative is roughly homorganic with the following vowel) that have developed from historical aspirated plosives. A complete wordlist, organized by gloss and semantic field, is provided as appendices.

Abstract:
Purpose. To find the prevalence of overweight/obesity and hypertension, and to study the association between BMI, blood pressure, and age. Methods. Cross-sectional study was carried out among 257 Tangkhul Naga males of Northeast India, age ranging from 20–70 years. The subjects were divided into five different age groups to study age trend. Results. Mean systolic, and diastolic BP was higher among subjects with elevated BMI and among older subjects. Minimum BP was found among underweight and maximum among obese. BP was found lowest among the youngest age group and higher among the elderly subjects. BMI was also found to be associated with age independently. Although the magnitude of correlation differed, there was significant positive correlation among BMI, age, systolic and diastolic BP. Odd ratios showed overweight/obese subjects to be more likely to have hypertension than those with normal BMI. Changing socioeconomic environment intensifies the prevalence of overweight/obesity and hypertension among the Tangkhul Nagas.

Abstract:
The use and the knowledge of medicinal plants exist throughout the world, where human beings have been using these plants in curing all types of diseases and ailments in their traditional methods since the beginning of their very lives. While, its effectiveness have been proven beyond doubt and documented throughout several ethnic communities of the world, it has not been documented in the case of Tangkhul Naga community. Therefore, the present study is an attempt to identify and compile the knowledge of medicinal plants traditionally used by the Tangkhul Naga community of Manipur. Methods: An extensive questionnaire based survey was conducted among 80 key informants from 15 Tangkhul villages, along with the help of interview schedule. The informants included village elders, ‘medicine men’ or ‘traditional healers’, ‘bone setters’, ‘divine healers’ and health workers. Result: As many as 72 species of plants distributed in 69 genera belonging to 44 families were identified and reported by the informants. Out of which, highest number of plants belong to the Asteraceae family, followed by Lamiaceae, Solanaceae and Zingiberaceae families. While, leaves were found to be the most common parts used, decoction and juice were the most common method of preparing medicines and treatment to various ailments and diseases. Conclusion: The primary health care facilities provided by the government are virtually in a dysfunctional state in the overwhelming majority of the rural villages. Hence, people would still rely on their crude and traditional knowledge of using medicinal plants to treat various minor diseases and ailments. It still provides not only basic health care to an individual living in the rural villages, but also to the large section of the people of this community.

Abstract:
During the 2020-21 kharif season, a field experiment was carried out at the Agronomy department's research farm at the College of Agriculture, Central Agricultural University, Imphal, Manipur. With 12 treatments and 3 replications, it was carried out using a factorial randomized block design. The experiment comprised of different planting dates (6th July, 21st July, 5th August and 20th August) and three cultivars of black rice aromatic rice (Chakhao Poireiton, Makrei Kazik and Tangkhul Makrei/Khangamu). With a grain yield of 1475.24 kg/ha, Chakhao Poireiton produced the highest growth parameters, and Tangkhul Makrei/Khangamu produced the lowest growth parameters with a grain yield of 1384.53 kg/ha. Dates of sowing had significant impact on growth. Early planting (6th July) resulted in the highest growth parameters and grain yield (1508.07 kg/ha), while late planting (20th August) resulted in the lowest growth parameters and grain yield (1361.58 kg/ha). Thus, the cultivar Chakhao Poireiton of black rice sown on July 6th was suitable for improved growth and grain yield.

Abstract:
The article attempts to examine the conceptual foundation of the self, mind and personhood in the traditional thoughts of the Tangkhul Nagas and the social implications and cultural models that shaped these conceptualisations. Partly constrained by the scarcity of written accounts, I have closely looked at the language usage, etymology of words and cultural practices of the community. Ning (‘mind’) is the central concept. Rich embodied expressions associate thoughts and emotions with certain internal organs of human body. The soul resides in the liver, luck in the brain and feelings in the heart. Ning is said to be acquired. This raises the question of whether the acquisition of ‘mind’ strictly refers to an acquisition of the mental faculty or does it include social norms and other skills. Drawing from the philosophy of Mead, the central argument is that the self, mind and ‘significant symbols’ conflated in the idea of personhood.

Lairamlo is the name of the dialect, which is spoken by the Ringpam people in the Ringpam village of Chandel district of Manipur which have 440 (approximately) speakers. Lairamlo is a dialect of Tangkhul. Lairamlo belongs to the Kuki-Chin-Naga sub-group of Tibeto-Burman family (Grierson’s LSI, 1903). The paper will describe the phonemic inventory of the dialect in terms of number of vowels, consonants and diphthongs including their distribution and arrangement in the dialect. The data was collected from Ringpam village of Tengnoupal district of Manipur through questionnaire and interview method.

Abstract This study analyses the issue of legitimacy that unfolds to understand the authority claims of traditional leaders underpinned by customary law in contrast to modern law and legislations in the democracies of two erstwhile British colonies: South Africa and the Tangkhul Nagas of India and Myanmar. The study enquires: if the warrant of modern and traditional law, the fulcrum of traditional leaders’ legitimacy, is questioned in the democratic dispensation, what is the underlying basis of legitimacy that makes traditional leaders resilient? It employs historical, cultural and linguistic analysis to understand how traditional leaders mediate legitimacy. It concludes that cultural cognitive categories like metaphors and aphorisms are instrumental in leveraging the legitimacy claims of traditional leaders across countries.

Abstract:
Animal and its products have been an important means to successful adaptation of human throughout its evolutionary journey. Since prehistoric periods, their parts, and their products have been the source of human survival along with plant and its products. It also forms a basis for indigenous medical system and later for bio or modern medical system. Hence, before it vanishes completely from the memory of the people, the urgency to document this vast knowledge arises, as it is fast disappearing. Method: Field survey was conducted on 5 rural villages of this community, and data were obtained from 55 selected informants with the help of interview schedule. The informants include local herbalists, traditional and divine healers, cultivators, midwives, and they were all 50 years and above who were believed to be the only surviving age-group of people who still have the local medical knowledge. Result: 23 animal species and its products were reportedly used in the treatment of several diseases and ailments in the surveyed villages. These animal species belong to the classes of mammals (09), insect (03), avian (03), reptiles, amphibians, oligochaeta, malacostraca, gastropoda and chilopoda. Some of the most commonly treated diseases or ailments are burnt body, fever, mumps, measles, stone case etc. Conclusion: It was found that the use of animal and its products for medicines are no longer prevalent among the majority of the studied population, or for that matter even the knowledge itself is disappearing at a very fast pace from the general population. One may argue that it was the result of the introduction of ‘modern biomedicine’ which in fact has also been responsible on one side, on the other hand, majority of these animals have disappeared while others are continuously endangered due to unregulated and excessive hunting and clearing of their habitats. It is high time for the people including the government to realize the need to conserve animals and their habitats before it became something of the past.

Matisoff (2003) reconstructs an “adjectival prefix” *gV-, based on work by Wolfenden (1929). As a result of surveying grammatical descriptions of more than 90 Tibeto-Burman languages, the present study provides evidence to reconstruct Matisoff’s adjectival prefix as a nominalizer whose functional range includes (but is not limited to) the adjectival marking. Evidence for the prefix is found in three major genetic subdivisions. Within Bradley’s (2002) Western branch, Baram (Newaric) has a particularly versatile nominalizer ki-~gi-, and Eastern Kiranti languages have *gV-…-pa nominalizing circumfixes. In Bradley’s Eastern branch, rGyalrongic languages have velar prefixes that function as the main nominalizers. Further, in DeLancey’s (2015) Central branch of Trans-Himalayan (Sino-Tibetan), we find reflexes of *gV- in many languages, most notably the versatile nominalizer kV- in Lamkang (Northwest Kuki-Chin). Other languages of the India-Myanmar border with unresolved phylogenetic status within Tibeto-Burman also have reflexes of *gV-, most prominently Karbi and Tangkhul (Konnerth 2012).

Population belonging to ‘Scheduled Tribe’ (ST) in India are considered as socio-economically backward section of the society. Tribal display different set of rules regarding inter-tribe and inter-clan marriage. There is a need to understand changing marriage pattern among tribal in North-east India, a region with geographically inaccessible, economically underdeveloped and where a large tribal population resides. Data from Census of India 2001 and 2011, revealed that Singulate Mean Age at Marriage (SMAM) among STs of Northeast is comparatively higher than the ST of India. The spousal age gap has also been decreasing over time. Among the major STs in the Northeast, the SMAM is highest among the Mao, Paomai Naga and among the Tangkhul Nagas of Manipur. Although the Nagas supported early marriage in its lore days, the marriage structure has tremendously changed with dawn of Christianity. Western education brought by Christian Missionaries had great impact on the traditional norms.

Death is universal. Every culture has its unique perspective on death. And every individual has his own share of death. But death due to AIDS is what everybody would prefer to avoid. This is due to the fact that people with HIV/AIDS are stigmatized and discriminated. Women who mostly get infected from their husbands become widows. They become burdened with their disease and their responsibility to look after their children. In some cases they are compelled to nurse their sick husbands in spite of own ill-health. There remains constant sense of fear and insecurity in their minds- fear of physical death, fear of their spiritual stand, and fear of their children's future after their death, as also fear of the society's attitude towards their death. The present paper is an attempt to study the perception of death of the women with AIDS. The women under study were from five different communities of Manipur namely, the Meitei, Muslim, Tangkhul, Kuki and Rongmei (Kabul). The paper is organized under four broad themes.

Information is accessed through a variety of routes, one of which is an information channel. The formal channel follows a structured path, whereas the informal channel takes a more unstructured path. This study primarily looks into the channel(s) used for seeking cultural heritage information among the Tangkhul tribe from Manipur state, India and also checked the significant change between studied variables and demographic variables. This study employed a stratified random sampling method to draw the sample. The study used a survey method and a structured questionnaire tool for data collection. The questionnaire comprises respondents’ demographic profiles and 13 items on channels preferred for seeking cultural heritage information. Analysis present that the most prevalent strategy for accessing cultural heritage knowledge was determined to be “elderly people in the community” with a mean score of 3.85. Furthermore, factor analysis identifies two types of channels: informal and formal. And current residency (p-value=0.044) and family annual income (p-value=0.043) influence channel choice for accessing information, with those living in Manipur state preferring official channels and those earning INR 9,00,001 annually or more preferring informal channels.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to identify different sources used for seeking cultural heritage information. The paper aims to study the most vital sources used to seek cultural heritage information and examine the significant difference between sources and demographic variables. The study is conducted among youth of the Tangkhul tribe from Manipur state, India. The study used a structured questionnaire to collect data. Data screening, examining validity and reliability were conducted before analysis. SPSS version 20 was used for data analysis. An independent samples t-test and one-way ANOVA test were carried out to check the significant differences. The study reveals that elders are the most prominent sources used for seeking cultural heritage information. The findings also expose that there is a significant difference between gender and Internet sources (p-value=0.040), similarly between marital status and electronic sources (p-value=0.028), likewise between education qualification and electronic sources (p-value=0.005), also between education qualification and audiovisual source (p-value=0.042) and between the current place of residence and audiovisual sources (p-value=0.049). The findings revealed that youth used different sources for seeking cultural heritage information and the most desired sources are elders (mean score=4.02), followed by the Internet (mean score=3.48) and social media (mean score=3.46). The authors reflect the study’s unique in conducting the research design. It acknowledged the gaps in the literature and the study proposed to fill the existing holes. The study also identified the most sought source used for seeking cultural heritage information, thereby adding research value.

Alat tangkap tangkul adalah alat penangkap ikan yang termasuk dalam kelompok jaring angkat (lift nets) yang dioperasikan dengan tangan. Pengoperasian tangkul di Danau Kerinci berkaitan erat dengan lama perendaman alat tersebut. Lama perendaman alat tangkap mempengaruhi hasil tangkapan yang didapatkan. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui pengaruh lama perendaman alat tangkap tangkul terhadap hasil tangkapan ikan. Metode penelitian yaitu metode experimental fishing, menggunakan perlakuan waktu yang berbeda yaitu 10 menit, 15 menit dan 20 menit. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pada perlakuan 10 menit berpengaruh nyata dengan perlakuan 15 menit dan 20 menit terhadap jumlah dan berat total hasil tangkapan. Hasil tangkapan ikan dengan tangkul terdiri dari 3 spesies ikan yaitu ikan nila (oreochromis niloticus), ikan barau (Hampala Macrolepid) dan ikan Medik (Osteochilus wandersii). Alat tangkul yang direndam selama 10 menit diperoleh hasil tangkapan yang terbanyak yaitu 209 ekor, 15 menit sebesar 156 ekor, dan 20 menit sebesar 113 ekor. waktu perendaman alat tangkap tangkul berpengaruh terhadap hasil tangkapan ikan.

Jambi merupakan salah satu propinsi di Indonesia. Di propinsi ini yang banyak terdapat genangan air rawa, sungai, dan danau. Salah satunya adalah DanauTeluk yang diairi (keluar dan masuk) dari Sungai Batanghari. Danau ini merupakan danau oxbow (bentuk tapal kuda), terletak di Kecamatan DanauTeluk, Kota Jambi, Propinsi Jambi pada ketinggian 16-23 dpl mempunyai luas 40-60 ha. Jumlah nelayan saat ini mencapai sekitar 300 orang. Jenis alat tangkap yang digunakan cukup beragam meliputi tangkul (lift net), pancing atau bujur (line fishing), jaring (gill net), gerugu atau bubu (tubular trap), kelong, tasok, rombong, jermal (pound net), jala (cash net fishing), dan rawai (drift line). Alat tangkap dominan yang digunakan oleh nelayan adalah tangkul, rawai, gerugu, dan tajur, di mana dalam 1 rumah tangga perikanan nelayan, pada umumnya memiliki lebih dari 1 jenis alat tangkap yang dioperasikan. Dari beberapa jenis alat tangkap tersebut, tangkul merupakan alat tangkap yangdominan dioperasikan oleh nelayan. Hasil penelitian Loka Riset Pemacuan Stok Ikan (2005) menunjukkan bahwa tangkul yang beroperasi di Danau Telukmencapai 69,44% atau 75 rumah tangga perikanan.

Sedangkan tempat penelitian adalah di Masjid Sholihin Tangkil, Manang, Grogol, Sukoharjo. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: 1). Peran manajemen pada Masjid Sholihin Tangkil, Manang, Grogol, Sukoharjo sudah menerapkan perannya dimulai dari perencanaan, pengorganisasian, penggerakan dan pengawasan. 2). Tangkup Village has an area of 2,667 Km2, most of which is in the form of rice fields. The natural tourism potential of Tangkup Village is a rice field area located in Tangkup Anyar, a watershed located in Tangkup Desa area, and green hills that surround the village. Cultural potential in the form of cagcag woven cloth which is a typical product of Tangkup, traditional snacks called jaje tulud, tipat pesor and sangait. In other places, sangait is made from sweet potatoes, Sangait in Tangkup village is made from cassava which is widely grown by local people. However, in the process of developing this snack product, it encountered obstacles related to the dough that did not support the process of design tulud cakes with coconut shells. Even though the community wants to develop jaja tulud, the tools used should not be replaced. Because of these difficulties, not many residents survive to make jaja tulud which is usually used for ceremonial needs. Regarding its function as a typical snack, students want to develop this snack so that it can be of economic value and accepted by tourists through a more elegant presentation. Students are actively involved in the preparation for the formation of Pokdarwis so that the direction of village development is towards a managed and directed tourism village. So far, the potential management of Tangkup Village is still being handled independently by utilizing the land owned, especially those located near watersheds, in the form of cafes, rafting, Asta Gangga Park attractions and bamboo houses that are being built as tourist facilities on the hill. The village hopes that students will help generate the tourism potential of Tangkup Village, so that it is widely known and visitors enjoy the beauty of this beautiful fertile village through the preparation of local human resources to welcome Tangkup village which will soon become a tourist village.

People commonly consume melinjo's leaves as well as the seeds for their daily diets. Based on this fact, the community service program will carry out a training food diversification to process melinjo skins, kulit tangkil, into a new product that is crackers, named Kerupuk Kulit Tangkil (Kerikil). The method of this activity used is pre-implementation, implementation, and post-implementation. The results of this study are melinjo skin cracker products with good packaging to lift up their selling value. and the improvement of the economy in Kadu Agung of Gunung Sari, Serang.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keragaman jenis alat tangkap ikan berdasarkan indikator ramah lingkungan di perairan Kota Batam dan sekitarnya. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei 2023, dan penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei melalui pendekatan studi kasus, responden ditentukan secara purposive, dan menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan expert choice. Pengumpulan data primer melalui observasi langsung di lapangan dan wawancara kepada stakeholder, data sekunder diperoleh melalui literatur dari berbagai sumber. Dari hasil penelitian ini didapatkan 7 jenis alat penangkapan ikan utama, yaitu pancing (dengan skor 33), bubu lipat (35), purse seine (27), jaring tangkul/jaring karang (28), rawai (34), gillnet (30), dan kelong (18). Alat penangkapan ikan yang termasuk kategori sangat ramah lingkungan adalah pancing, bubu lipat, jaring tangkul/karang rawai, dan gillnet. The Sasak community has a diversity of customs, arts, and culture as well as traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation, including the Belaq Tangkel tradition which is part of the ritual during the first pregnancy. This study aims to find the concept of science in the ritual of belaq tangkel in the tradition of the Sasak tribe that can be implemented in learning. This research is an ethnographic study. Data were collected through various literature studies, field observations, and interviews with informants who understand the implementation of the Belaq Tangkel ritual in the traditions of the Sasak people. The results of this study indicate that in the Sasak community, pregnancy is considered a gift (paice) given by God to a family. Therefore, the phases of pregnancy are greeted with certain rituals which are a form of gratitude for being given this gift. One of the rituals performed is the Belaq Tangkel ritual. This ritual is carried out when the womb enters the age of 7 months. The Belaq Tangkel (breaking coconut) ritual is a ritual to ask God Almighty, so that the mother will be facilitated in the birthing process and the child will become a pious and pious child like water and the contents of a clean and white coconut. This ritual tradition is a tradition passed down from generation to generation from the ancestors which is believed to be a ritual to honor the child in the womb and is a deposit that must be guarded and protected and given love by both parents. The Belaq Tangkel tradition is carried out in two stages. The stages of the ritual are reconstructed from the original knowledge of the community into scientific knowledge that has the potential to be used as a science learning resource.

Hasil: sebagian besar petugas patuh (92,6%) dalam penggunaan APD Dalam Pelaksanaan Cegah Tangkal Penyakit Covid-19, sebagian besar menggunakan sarung tangan (94,4%), semua menggunakan masker (100%), lebih dari setengah menggunakan penutup kepala (63,3%), lebih dari setengah menggunakan kacamata pelindung (70,4%), dan lebih dari setengah menggunakan baju pelindung (55,6%). Kesimpulan: Sebagian besar petugas patuh dalam penggunaan APD Dalam Pelaksanaan Cegah Tangkal Penyakit Covid-19. Oleh karena itu, bagi pihak tekait dalam hal ini pihak Kantor Kesehatan Pelabuhan Kelas I Makassar agar dapat menyediakan APD terkait Pelaksanaan Cegah Tangkal Penyakit Covid-19 dan berupaya meningkatkan keptauhan petugas dalam penggunaan APD.

Meningkatnya minat masyarakat terhadap penggunaan bahan alam dari tanaman terjadi karena ketersediaan bahan yang mudah didapat. Cara tersebut terus dilakukan oleh masyarakat, serta diwariskan secara turuntemurun mengingat penggunaannya dianggap relatif aman serta efek samping yang minimal. Bagian akar dari pakis tangkur digunakan oleh masyarakat setempat untuk mengobati berbagai jenis penyakit, antara lain rematik, hipertensi dan sebagai afrodisiaka. Menurut United States of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) meskipun bahan alam dianggap relatif aman oleh sebagian kelompok penggunanya, tetap harus dilakukan skrining toksikologi terhadap senyawa yang berpotensi obat untuk melihat serta menggambarkan efek toksik sehingga diperoleh nilai Dosis letal (LD50). Dari hasil penelitian toksisitas akut ini nilai LD50 yang diperoleh yaitu lebih dari 5000 mg/kgBB. Dikarenakan pada dosis paling tinggi pada penelitian yaitu 5000 mg/kgBB tidak terdapat hewan yang mati, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak akar pakis tangkur termasuk kedalam kategori praktis tidak toksik. The students are trained to be able to interact with the community and be able to apply the knowledge they gain, so that they gain experience from this activity. Mental and personality formation is also the goal of organizing this community service activity. As for the lecturers, this activity is a form of implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, especially in research and community service activities. The accompanying lecturers will obtain a lot of information related to the problems faced by the community, so that in this activity it is expected that the lecturers can provide solutions related to the problems faced by the community. This community service program resulted in findings that Tangkup Village has the potential to develop a homestay by utilizing residents' houses. From the results of the observation, it can be seen that there are several residential houses that are feasible to be developed into homestays. Background The massive spread of hoaxes in the digital era has had a negative impact, especially on groups digital native as the largest internet users. Although digital native is associated as a group that has the ability to use technology and the internet, in receiving information, this group's decision-making ability to distinguish true information from hoax is still far from perfect. So that we need a program to overcome these problems. Method This study aims to test the content validity of the program tangkal hoax module on digital native decision-making skills in determining hoax news. The type of research used is module validation research using four validators selected based o ntechnique purposive to test the suitability of the module content with the objectives to be achieved. The method of data analysis used descriptive analysis using Aikens'V. Results This study shows that the results of the validation of the module content assessed by the validator have a V score in the range 0.75-0.88. The results of the validation of the measuring instruments that were assessed by the validator had a range of V score moving from 0.56 to 0.88. Based on the results of the validity test of the hoax deterrence program, which was assessed by the validator, it was included in the valid criteria with several suggestions for improvement. Conclusion Based on the results of the module content validity test, it can be concluded that the program tangkal hoax module is at a good validity level. Meskipun digital native diasosiasikan sebagai kelompok yang memiliki kemampuan dalam menggunakan teknologi dan internet, namun dalam menerima suatu informasi, kemampuan pengambilan keputusan kelompok ini untuk membedakan informasi yang benar dan hoaks masih jauh dari sempurna. Sehingga diperlukan sebuah program untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut. Metode Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji validitas modul program tangkal hoaks terhadap keterampilan pengambilan keputusan digital native dalam menentukan berita hoaks. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu riset validasi modul dengan menggunakan empat orang validator yang dipilih berdasarkan teknik purposive untuk menguji kesesuaian isi modul dengan tujuan yang hendak dicapai. Metode analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif dengan menggunakan Aikens’V. Hasil Penelitian ini menunjukkan hasil validasi isi modul yang dinilai oleh validator yaitu memiliki angka Skor V dengan rentang 0,75-0,88. Hasil validasi alat ukur yang dinilai oleh validator memiliki rentang angka Skor V bergerak dari 0,56-0,88. Berdasarkan hasil uji validitas modul program tangkal hoaks yang dinilai oleh validator termasuk dalam kriteria valid dengan beberapa saran perbaikan. Komunitas gastropoda merupakan salah satu komponen penting dalam rantai makanan di padang lamun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui komposisi jenis, kerapatan lamun, kepadatan gastropoda, indeks komunitas gastropoda dan hubungan antara kerapatan lamun dengan kepadatan gastropoda di Perairan Pulau Tangkil. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei – Juli 2018, dengan menggunakan metode transek linier kuadrat 1x1 m. Pengambilan data dilakukan di 4 stasiun, dimana setiap stasiun dibagi menjadi 3 transek dan pengukuran parameter fisika dan kimia perairan dilakukan pengulangan sebanyak 3 kali. Hasil penelitian di Pulau Tangkil ditemukan 16 jenis yang terdiri dari 6 ordo, 8 famili gastropoda. Nilai kepadatan tertinggi jenis gastropoda didominansi oleh jenis Turridae sp, sedangkan untuk lamun diperoleh 3 spesies, 2 ordo dan 3 famili. Kerapatan lamun tertinggi adalah jenis E. acoroides dengan nilai kerapatan 2- 48 tegakan/m2. Kerapatan lamun dengan kepadatan gastropoda di Pulau Tangkil memiliki hubungan yang sedang dengan nilai korelasi 0,6693, dan bersifat asosiasi positif. Nilai indeks keanekaragaman gastropoda 1,695 yang dikategorikan sedang, indeks keseragaman 0,9425 yang tergolong stabil dan indeks dominansi 0,1925 yang tergolong rendah.

It is therefore necessary to research with the aim of determining the economic value of tourism services Tangkil Island and determine the effect of the characteristics of the visitors to the economic value of tourism services. Benefits of the research results can be used as a material consideration in determining management policies and the development of this attraction to the next. Research was conducted in December 2014-March 2015 with direct interview using questionnaires to 105 respondents. Determination of the results of the optimization parameters visitors travel costs were then tested by multiple linear regression method, using the software Minitab 16. The results reveal the total cost of the trip visitors Rp37.927.000/visit, the average cost of the trip visitors Rp361,200/person/visit. The economic value of travel services Rp10.888.284.096/year. The variable level of education at the level graduated from high school, the type of work to employers, additional employment, income, dependents in the family, the origin of visitors, visiting times when the Chinese New Year, Christmas and New Year, as well as the way of a visit has a Pvalue<0.1 so that the independent variables these have a significant influence on the economic value of tourism services Tangkil Island. The amount of standard deviation (S) is 77.20, while simultaneously influence the independent variable (R-Sq) is 78.6% and R-Sq (adj) is 70.2%. ABSTRAKBencana tanah longsor di Indonesia semakin sering terjadi dari tahun ke tahun. Bencana tanah longsor telah terjadi di Dusun Tangkil, Desa Banaran, Kecamatan Pulung, Kabupaten Ponorogo, Provinsi Jawa Timur pada tanggal 1 April 2017. Lokasi tanah longsor di Desa Banaran, Kecamatan Pulung, Kabupaten Ponorogo, Jawa Timur, terletak pada zona kerentanan tinggi. Tipologi tanah longsor berupa longsoran bahan rombakan, yang kemudian ke arah bawah (Kali Tangkil) berkembang menjadi tipe aliran bahan rombakan. Faktor-Faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap terjadinya tanah longsor lokasi penelitian adalah: kelerengan, batuan dan tanah, rekahan/retakan batuan, konversi lahan, drainase dan keairan, curah hujan tinggi, dan aktivitas manusia. Dari kesemuanya faktor-faktor tersebut, yang paling dominan dan berpengaruh terhadap tanah longsor adalah: lereng yang curam, soil hasil pelapukan sangat gembur dan tebal, alih fungsi lahan dan curah hujan yang tinggi. Material longsoran tidak terkonsolidasi dengan baik sehingga masih mudah bergerak, dan kemungkinan pembendungan pada Kali Tangkil oleh material longsoran tersebut bisa berpotensi terjadinya banjir bandang. Beberapa permukiman yang berada di saekitar lokasi longsor mempunyai risiko tinggi dan sedang terhadap longsor, sehingga perlu dibangun kesiapsiagaan masyarakat, pembangunan sistem peringatan dini longsor serta untuk jangka panjang adalah relokasi jika memang kondisi semakin parah. Pertanian lahan kering pada lereng-lereng sebaiknya menggunakan pola agroforestry. Kawasan sub DAS berisiko longsor, sebaiknya dikembalikan fungsi lahan sebagai hutan konservasi atau hutan lindung seperti sebelumnya.Kata kunci: longsor, Ponorogo, curam, soil tebal, degradasi lahan, curah hujan tinggi, risikoABSTRACTLandslides in Indonesia are becoming increasingly frequent from year to year. A landslide disaster has occurred in Tangkil, Banaran Village, Pulung Sub-District, Ponorogo District, East Java Province on April 1, 2017. The location of landslides in Banaran Village, Pulung Sub-District, Ponorogo District, East Java, lies in the high vulnerability zone. The landslide typology is a debris slide, which then in the downstream direction (Tangkil River) develop into a type of debris flow. Factors that influence the occurrence of landslides in the study area are: slope, rock and soil, fracture, land conversion, drainage and irrigation, high rainfall, and human activities. Of all the influential factors, the most dominant factors for landslides are: steep slopes, weathered soil is very loose and thick, land conversion, and high rainfall. Landslide material is not well consolidated so that it is still easy to move, and the possibility of damming the Tangkil River by landslide material can potentially cause flash floods. Some settlements located near landslide locations have high and moderate risks of landslides, so community preparedness needs to be built, the establishment of landslide early warning systems and long-term relocation if the condition is getting worse. Dryland farming on slopes should use agroforestry patterns. Berdasarkan standar WHO, secara nasional. Dapat dilihat bahwa secara nasional prevalensi berat kurang pada tahun 2010 adalah 17,9 persen yang terdiri dari 4,9 persen gizi buruk dan 13,0 gizi kurang. Jika dibandingkan dengan angka prevalensi nasional tahun 2007 (18,4 persen) sudah terlihat ada penurunan. Penurunan terutama terjadi pada prevalensi gizi buruk yaitu dari 5,4 persen tahun 2007 menjadi 4,9 persen pada tahun 2010 atau turun sebesar 0,5 persen, sedangkan prevalensi gizi kurang masih tetap sebesar 13,0 persen. Bila dibandingkan dengan pencapaian sasaran MDG tahun 2015 yaitu 15,5 persen maka prevalensi berat kurang secara nasional harus diturunkan minimal sebesar 2,4 persen dalam periode 2011 sampai 2015.Tujuan: Mengetahui gambaran gambaran status gizi anak usia pra sekolah di TK Pertiwi Tangkil . Metode penelitian: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian Deskriptif. Populasi dalam penellitian ini adalah warga anak usia pra sekolah di TK Pertiwi Tangkil Kemalang yang berjumlah 29 siswa Teknik pengambilan total sampling. Alat pengumpulan data menggunakan dokumentasi.Hasil dan pembahasan: Status Gizi pada anak pra sekolah TK Pertiwi Tingkil diketahui 1 anak (3,4%) berstatus gizi kurang,sedangkan sebagian besar anak berstatus gizi baik yaitu ada 16 anak (55,2%) dan bahkan ada yang berstatus gizi lebi ada 12 anak (41,4%). Kesimpulan: Secara keseluruhan gambaran status gizi anak di TK Pertiwi Tangkil adalah anak berstatus gizi baik.

Salah satu dampak negatif yang ditunjukkan secara langsung adalah penggunaan gadget secara berlebihan yang dapat mempengaruhi perilaku sosial siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak penggunaan gadget terhadap perilaku sosial siswa kelas V SD Negeri 2 Tangkil Kecamatan Cidahu Kabupaten Sukabumi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Pendekatan kualitatif agar peneliti dapat mengungkap dampak penggunaan gadget terhadap perilaku sosial anak usia sekolah dasar. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari sembilan siswa yang sudah memiliki gadget. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan gadget pada siswa kelas V SD Negeri 2 Tangkil rata-rata tiga jam setiap hari dengan kategori cukup tinggi. Dampak positif dari penggunaan gadget ini antara lain mendapatkan pengetahuan yang luas dengan mencari informasi di google, mempermudah berkomunikasi dengan orang lain, dan bermain game yang mengasah otak anak. Lebih lanjut siswa menyebutkan bahwa kegiatan mengakses gadget dilakukan untuk berbagai informasi melalui google dan mencari materi pelajaran, serta membantu tugas sekolah. Pada aspek perilaku sosial, siswa kelas V SD Negeri 2 Tangkil termasuk dalam kriteria baik. Siswa tetap dapat menunjukkan sikap gotong royong, sopan santun, dan rasa hormat selama maraknya penggunaan gadget pada anak usia sekolah dasar.

Abstract:
Industri Rumah Tangga di Dusun Tangkil, Desa Ngargomulyo, Kecamatan Dukun, Kabupaten Magelang kurang berkembang secara maksimal. Terdapat beberapa produksi makanan ringan seperti kripik talas, kripik singkong, rempeyek hingga bubuk jahe kurang optimal dari segi produksi maupun pemasaran. Beberapa masalah seperti pengemasan yang belum standar, belum adanya labelisasi, hingga kurangnya promosi dan pemasaran menjadi penyebab berkembannya produk, dan sempitnya area pemasaran padahal industri rumah tangga di Dusun Tangkil mempunyai potensi besar untuk mengubah pemasaran yang lebih luas apabila beberapa masalah bisa diatasi dengan baik. Selain itu, potensi wirausaha yang hanya dijadikan sampingan karena mata pencahariannya sebagai petani sehingga produktivitas kurang maksimal. Dengan pendekatan digital branding yang dikemas dalam program pengabdian masyarakat dari Universitas Muhammadiyah Magelang. Harapannya dapat meningkatkan kualitas pada standardisasi kemasan, dan labelisasi produk yang membuat desain kemasan lebih menarik sehingga produk dapat merambah pasar yang lebih luas

Abstract:
Fever is a state where the body's core temperature rises above normal levels. In healthy adults, the average oral temperature is around 37°C. Fever is not harmful but in certain circumstances this response is undesirable because it interferes with normal activities. The research method used is True Experimental with Posttest Only Control Group Design approach as the research design. The purpose of this study was to assess the antipyretic effect of tangkur fern root on mice induced by DTP-HB vaccine. The results showed that the extract and water fraction of tangkur fern root had antipyretic effects by reducing the fever temperature of mice during the observation time for 240 minutes. Overall, this study proves that the ethanol extract at a dose of 100 mg/kgBB is an effective dose as a candidate for antipyretic drugs.
