At the group level, a small but distinct overall effect of the sequence of the tradeoffs was detected after accounting for discounting effects. Incongruent movements (e.g., right arm extension) were associated with attenuation of affective valuations. In the present study, we replicated these results. AbstractThis chapter covers various issues related to the experimental design, a statistical technique at the core of a discrete choice experiment. Specifically, it focuses on the dimensionality of a choice experiment and the statistical techniques used to allocate attribute levels to choice tasks. Among others, the pros and cons of orthogonal designs, optimal orthogonal in the differences designs as well as efficient designs are addressed. The last section shows how a simulation exercise can help to test the appropriateness of the experimental design.

Abstract:
This chapter analyzes monetary differentiation within formal organizations, banks, and other financial institutions. It demonstrates how, despite the advantages of liquidity, organizational budgeting practices create incommensurable categorical distinctions, akin to earmarks, within fungible money. Many forms of individual and organizational credit similarly involve earmarks that constrain the use and allocation of future purchasing power. Credit is always earmarked in terms of who is a legitimate recipient but also often in terms of how the money can be used. A home mortgage, for example, can be used to purchase a house but not a car. The chapter also considers whether the financialization of the economy “has helped to monetize more of the world.” It finds instead unexpected limits to monetary valuation. In the contemporary over-the-counter derivatives market, for instance, participants often rely on non-price-based forms of valuation.

Abstract:
Digitalization is the use of technological innovations within the business context with a major influence on products, services, business processes, sales channels, and supply channels. The associated potential advantages include, among others, increased sales or productivity, innovations in price creation, and new sorts of client interaction. Global enterprises are facing supply chain issues, and consequently, potentially higher operational costs, lower inventory, and the prospects of lower demand will make them reluctant to disburse resources and time to connect in M&A and financing activities, predominantly if valuations of targets remain high. Digitalization of the supply chain (DSC) could be a way that companies can start to strategize and accomplish trade strength against supply chain disturbance. The main focus of this chapter is that digitalization enhances prosperity without human contact in a pandemic, will alter labor markets, and impacts business models.

From laws that linked a woman's economic independence to the number of children she had birthed to medical handbooks' treatment of fertility and women's portrayal in poetry and panegyric, the birthing and rearing of children appears as one of the defining tasks in late ancient women's lives. While the expansion of Christianity in the fourth and fifth centuries and the appeal ascetic practice held for members of the imperial elites did not fundamentally change this valuation, they nevertheless precipitated a reconsideration of what constituted motherhood in the first place. This chapter explores the rhetorical construction of motherhood in late ancient ascetic writings, and the interplay between physical and spiritual portrayals of family relations in the lives of late ancient women ascetics.

Abstract:
This paper talks about the heritage valuation of a landscape whose structure is conformed by the hydraulic installations located along the Cantarranas River, in the Atlixco Valley. In other words, the water that runs through this river is the backbone of a whole set of first-rate rural, urban and industrial cultural assets, whose historical background is the pre-Hispanic period; however, for this chapter I will only address the landscape of water that existed between the years1898 -1928 and its relationship with textile factories in the area. Likewise, from the perspective of heritage studies, it is considered that this territory has been shaped by the use of water, in whose configuration we find a rich industrial heritage. In this sense, the objective of this analysis is to systematically reveal how the industrial landscape in the valley is structured and at the same time to analyze the distribution of water, its differente uses, its driving force and the water volumes that were needed to make each one of the six factories located in the valley work. To conclude, it is about realizing the importance of water in Atlixco as the backbone of the landscape and as a common heritage.
