Full textSeveral slopes of Tarentaise have a rapid erosion, by place this one is increased by man's activities. With a surface of 30 km2, oriented n-s, the study area, located in interior of alps, is made of quartzite, gypsum and glacial clay formations. Between 800 and 2000m, these rocks are destroyed by a growing weathering. The mountain climate of the study area has been measured by several thermographs and pluviographs (during 1984, 1985, 1986). Above 2000m, the periglacial processes dominate and induce rockfalls in quartzite cliffs and step in gypsum karstification. On this altitude, the building of the skiing resort of la Plagne has quickened erosion. Under 2000 m, the biostasy predominates but the concentration of waters causes gullying which the reafforestation and development of talwegs have attempted to stop, since the nineteenth century. These works done by r. T. M. Have slowed down the hemming on of the torrent reclaz of Champagny. Owing to many technics of measures, in situ, erosion is followed with accuracy. Models of morphodynamic evolution have been proposed. For 10 000 years, quartzite has eroded from 0. 01 to 0. 25 mm a year, gypsum from 0. 5 to 2 mm a year and clay slopes have been gullying 1 mm a year. Considered as revealing the dynamic of our environnement, erosion has been conceived as the result of inter-relations of morphdynamic parameters of the environnement and each time it is replaced within the context of geosystemic unities

Full textIn Tunisia, the Tarentaise cow, a dual-purpose rustic breed was imported from the northern region of the French Alps. The aim of this PhD work was to study the adaptation of Tarentaise breed to heat stress, in particular during summer climatic conditions of Tunisia. To achieve our goals, two different studies were conducted. The first study was carried out to quantify the effect of heat stress on milk yield and components of Tarentaise in comparison to Holstein cows (by means of a data base of 16,400 monthly individual records of production traits from 21 farms situated in the North of Tunisia), and then to describe the relationship between the variations of milk yield during summer and some characteristics of the barns (by means of a survey carried out on 19 of the 21 previous farms). When the temperature-humidity index (THI) increased from an average value of 53.7 in winter to 75.4 in summer, the Holstein and Tarentaise cows decreased their milk yield by 0.93 and 0.15 kg/d, respectively. Milk fat, protein, and urea contents decreased similarly in both breeds, while somatic cell count increased for Holstein (+352,000/mL) and decreased for Tarentaise cows (−160,000/mL). The survey showed that closed buildings amplified the impact of heat stress and led to a more pronounced decrease in milk yield between summer and winter than open buildings (−1.13 vs. −0.27 kg/d), as well as metallic roofs compared to the other roof types (−1.04 vs. −0.15 kg/d).The second study was implemented in a commercial farm to quantify the effects of summer heat stress on some physiological parameters of Tarentaise cows. At the same time, we studied changes in milk production when we provided to the cows a more balanced diet during heat stress conditions. As expected, when the THI increased on average from 52.9 during winter to 77.4 during summer, cows had higher respiratory rate, heart rate, rectal temperature, and milk cortisol content. Nevertheless, the range of variation was lower compared to Holstein cows from other studies. However, in our trial, the blood leucocytes count was not modified during summer. Simultaneously, during summer, the cows maintained their dry matter intake, were still in positive energy balance and increased their milk yield by 7.1 kg/d compared to winter, in response to a more concentrated energy and protein diet. Our results suggest that Tarentaise cows are well adapted to the Mediterranean climate of Tunisia. In addition, it is possible to alleviate the negative effects of heat stress with a more balanced diet during summer and a better design of barns for an adequate microenvironment

Full textTourism and climate Change are two major contemporary phenomena wicht cross and question territories. The tourism as the model of development structures and organizes the territory for its functioning and allows to create an economic activity for the local population. When climate change, they make visible the intrinsic vulnerability of the territory by questioning the sustainability of an economic model based on the emission of greenhouse gases. The story of the French winter sports has generated Specific Model of resorts: the resort of 3rd generation, Exported abroad since the 1980s. After the Second World War, Tarentaise becomes the laboratory of experiment for the development of this specifique of resorts, even today (in 2014) eight big resorts of Tarentaise represent French 37 % of the attendance of winter sports resorts (that is 220 resorts). This Phd research thus analyzes the territorial trajectory of the resorts of high height of Tarentaise since the 1930s, as a model of development co-built by the evolutions: socioeconomic, political, environmental and climatic. To Trace and understand the different phases of the implementation of a development model on territory, allows to question its vulnerability and resilience to climate change.Climate policies such as tourism management are now territorialized, how these two dimensions are integrated at the level of a regional (Assembly Tarentaise-Vanoise) ? Non-binding territorialized climate policies, have they ability to question a only economy based on a only natural resource: the snow, the reliability is going to be increasingly problematic.First, we will examine the vulnerabilities of development models and climate problem political construction, through tourism as mountain modernization lever (Chapter 1) climate change as indicative of the development models as revelations vulnerabilities (Chapter 2) and the territories as relevance scale climate for political action (Chapter 3). Part 2 will question an Alpine development model at the intersection between societal evolution and climate change through the creation of the third-generation model of the stations and changes in the tourism strategy (Chapter 5) to lead the analysis of the vulnerability of ski resorts and territorial vulnerability (Chapter 6). Finally, the third section highlights how local climate policies strengthen winter tourism by building and strengthening a territorial level: the Tarentaise-Vanoise (Chapter 7), it can it lead to a new model? Full textThe winter sports resorts tourist architecture is based on social images of the mountain; whether it claims a form of acculturated modernity or displays the signs of a re-invented syncretic alpine tradition. Devoted to city-dwellers on holiday, these elevated cities are developped according to their social practices and their universe of reference. Their architecture and urban development are part of an imaginative urban world, so they question the bond that unites these buildings are their territories : history's long term and fashion's short term, permanent settlement and exotic scenery, daily life and holiday time, search of identity and distinctive practices, town and country planning marketing. In this thesis, sociological, economic and historical data are the basis of an architectural and urban analysis of a set of winter sports resorts of the Tarentaise Valley. Their tourist architecture is designed to be a "mountain" one, thus analysing it contributes to a cultural reading of this geographical object

Full textThe constitutions synodales (1609) of monseigneur germonio, archbisoph of tarentaise in savoie, was written by a contemp orary with saint francois de sales. He was a famous jurist, charged during a long stay in rome with composit some digest of differents texts; among those there are the decrets of the recent concile of trente in italia. If the "leges synodales" aim at tell and apply to his diocese these last, they stick out largely the frame of the concil e's regulation : destin for control the diocese's government, justice, for clergymen and laique, discipline in church as in society, sacraments, measures intend also for punish offences, move the faith and invigorate catholic religion to gibe a good behaviour's code for every people. To sum up, it is a codex, a collection of law and a commented code, in wh ich the author doesn't be afraid of remember that the law has a sacred origin, idea which staies still up to date. Its's probably for that : the "acta" of germonio have been applied during two centuries in tarentaise. This present study wanted to give a contemporary reading through a present fashion

Full textThis study describes the reconstruction and embelleshment period of parish churches in 3 Savoy dioceses in 19th century. If urban edifices are well known, rural churches have seldom been studied. Choosing Savoy enables us to detect or deny the particularisms of a border area which moreover changes nationality within a century. Those three dioceses also enable us to stress the comparison between a mountainous and a plain area. The study starts with concordat. Savoy is franch at the time. The empire lists the sate of cult edifices. Then reconstruction starts under the Sardinian restoration (1815-1860) to increase with the re-attachement of Savoy to France. Our investigations end in 1905 with the end of both concordat period and edification movement. We draw up histogrammes and constructions maps before wondering about the origin of this reconstruction be they mentioned or real. At this stage, we are describing the state of previous churches. The financial aspect if part of a detailed study. The account documents, numerous in local and parish archives wich have been our main source of investigation apart from visits on sites, had never been explored previously: cost of churches and ornementation, financial partners. The second part deals with architecture and designers. We analyse the evolution of styles and reject the notion of a “Sardinian style”. Savoy presents very few stylistic particularism; we inderline the importance of the religious authorities concerning the plans and the place of the steeple. The edifice is also studied as part of new urbanistic conceptions in the 19th century and the idea of modernity. Only the ornemental aspect, giving substance to the edifice (mural painting, stained glass windows) and the artists fall within the scope of this thesis. The furniture, just mentioned, will be studied in further study. Savoy isn't concerned with French debate on mural painting: linked for its techniques, iconography and authors to the Italian tradition. In this field tradition is more important than modernity witch prevailed in architecture. Stained glass windows, a new ornementing element, totally imported, spreads throughout Savoy later because of transport difficulties and the attachment to paintings, which will yet be surpassed
