Abstract:
Underwater vision research is the foundation of marine-related disciplines. The target contour extraction is significant for target tracking and visual information mining. Aiming to resolve the problem that conventional active contour models cannot effectively extract the contours of salient targets in underwater images, we propose a dual-fusion active contour model with semantic information. First, the saliency images are introduced as semantic information and salient target contours are extracted by fusing Chan–Vese and local binary fitting models. The contour thinning algorithm is an imaging algorithm for circular synthetic aperture radar (SAR) that can obtain clear target contours and has been successfully used for circular SAR (CSAR) target recognition. However, the contour thinning imaging algorithm loses some details when thinning the contour, which needs to be improved. This paper presents an improved contour thinning imaging algorithm based on residual compensation. In this algorithm, the residual image is obtained by subtracting the contour thinning image from the traditional backprojection image. Then, the compensation informati

This study investigated the extent to which children (ages 5–17) can take advantage of differences in fundamental frequency (F0) contour between target and masker speech to improve speech-in-speech recognition. A number of studies show that differences in F0 and F0 contour between talkers support better speech-in-speech recognition for adults, suggesting it is an important cue for recognizing speech in multitalker environments. However, children’s use of F0 contour differences during speech-in-speech recognition is less well understood. In the present study, sentence recognition was measured a

The active contour model is widely used to segment images. For the classical magnetostatic active contour (MAC) model, the magnetic field is computed based on the detected points by using an edge detector. However, noise and nontarget points are always detected. Thus, MAC is nonrobust to noise and the extracted objects may be deviant from the real objects. In this paper, a magnetostatic active contour model with a classification method of sparse representation is proposed. First, rough edge information is obtained with some edge detectors. Abstract:
Abstract A wide range of methods have been proposed for the derivation of environmental contours for marine structures that must meet reliability targets. An environmental contour is a set of joint extremes of environmental conditions associated with a target return period. In general, environmental contour methods help with the prediction of some future critical combinations of environmental conditions (e.g., wind, waves, current) at a location of interest based on a limited dataset, thus allowing designers to ensure a prescribed structural reliability. In fact, some of these contour methods

The flights of the civil (ARM23c) and military (ARM23m) parts of the exercise were performedbetween June 19th and 23rd and between September 11th and September 15th,respectively. The measuring system RLL001 was employed for all measurements. As usual, during the civil exercise the environs of some of the Swiss nuclear power plants were screened, on behalf of the Swiss Nuclear Safety Inspectorate (ENSI). At the site of the nuclear power plant Gösgen (KKG) with its pressurized water reactor, the activation products of the primary coolant loop are kept in the well shielded reactor building, thus
