Abstract:
The study examined target costing as a strategic management accounting tool for enhancing institutional competitiveness. In the context of financial targets and target control, the study investigated the awareness and application of target costing among top performing and highly ranked Nigerian Private Universities. The sample frame is accredited private universities. To ensure regional diversity for the scope of the study, universities were selected from the southwest, North-Central and North-East. The study adopted purposive sampling techniques to arrive at top

Abstract:
Abstract Controlling large networks is a fundamental problem and a great challenge in network science. Typically, full control is not necessary and infeasible. In many cases, only a preselected subset of nodes is required to be controlled, which is the target control problem. Each node does not participate in controlling the target set with equal probability, prompting us to quantify their contributions for target control. Here we develop a random sampling method to estimate the likelihood of each node participating as a driver node in target control configurations and demonstrate the unbiased

International Telemetering Conference Proceedings / October 30-November 02, 1989 / Town & Country Hotel & Convention Center, San Diego, California
Modern aircraft testing and training increasingly demand the use of multiple targets. A novel method to meet this requirement is to use the new AN/MPS-39 Multiple Object Tracking Radar (MOTR) with Vega Target Control System equipment. The AN/MPS-39 can be loosely described as the equivalent of ten AN/FPS-16 radars. This equivalency, due largely to the AN/MPS-39’s phased array antenna, immediately suggests the controlling of multiple target drones

This thesis addresses the improvement of cooperative task allocation to vehicles in multiple-vehicle, multiple-target scenarios through the use of more effective preplanned tours. Effective allocation of vehicles to targets requires knowledge of both the team objectives and the contributions that individual vehicles can make toward accomplishing team goals. This is primarily an issue of individual vehicle path planning --- determining the path the vehicles will follow to accomplish individual and team goals. Conventional methods plan optimal point-to-point path segments that often result in

In angle-only target tracking the aim is to estimate the state of a target with use of measurement of elevation and azimuth. The state consists of relative position and velocity between the target and the platform. The platform is an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) and the tracking system is meant to be a part of the platform’s anti-collision system. In the case where both the target and the platform travel with constant velocity the angle measurements do not provide any information of the range between the target and the platform. The platform has to maneuver to be able to estimate the range

This is achieved by clustering the sensor tracks using approximate distance functions, thereby decreasing the number of possible associations and the need to calculate expensive statistical distances between tracks. The studied tracking problem includes passive and active sensors with built-in filters. Statistical and non-statistical distance functions were designed to account for the characteristics of the different combinations of sensors. The computational cost a

The problem of reorienting a spacecraft to acquire a moving target is investigated. The spacecraft is modeled as a rigid body with N axisymmetric wheels controlled by axial torques, and the kinematics are represented by Modified Rodriques Parameters. The trajectory, denoted the reference trajectory, is one generated by a virtual spacecraft that is identical to the actual spacecraft. The open-loop reference attitude, angular velocity, and angular acceleration tracking commands are constructed so that the solar panel vector is perpendicular to the sun vector during the tracking maneuver.
