Bandura (1986,1997) asserts that a group's belief in its members' co-joint abilities, or its collective-efficacy, influences the degree to which that group seeks challenging goals, puts forth effort, and persists in the face of adversity. Group leaders serve important functions in the development of successful groups (Yalom, 1995). Since successful coaches are able to consistently demonstrate the ability to mold a group of individuals into a winning team, it is important to understand what methods coaches employ to develop team confidence. The purpose of this study was to understand how master football coaches develop team confidence. The participants for this interview-based, qualitative study included twenty "master" football coaches (6 professional and 14 collegiate). Criteria for inclusion were as follows: each participant had been a head football coach for at least ten years, and had a consistent record of success. Seventeen of the twenty had achieved success with three or more different teams. The findings reveal that these coaches employ a wealth of psychological strategies in different situations to enhance the development of team confidence. Their selective deployment of these strategies takes place throughout a series of developmental tasks, here described as the "Team Confidence Cycle." This includes seven key tasks: 1. Set the Course, 2. Create a Confidence Environment, 3. Promote Mastery, 4. Get Them to Perform, 5. Assess Performance, 6. Stay the Course and 7. Maintain High Performance. In the interviews the coaches revealed that team confidence was essential to their view of how teams achieve success. The constructs of team confidence and success were considered closely intertwined. Promoting mastery experiences, therefore, was primary among those strategies used by the master coaches to build team confidence. A second key strategy was that they pointed out successful experiences to their team(s). These coaches thus placed the greatest importance on "demonstrating ability" and then ensuring that improvement was noted. These findings are in accordance with Bandura (1997). Implications for coaches, especially of youth sport, are outlined in the final chapter.

Full textThe topic of managing the formation of project teams is among the top ten most relevant in modern management, both in the business sphere and in education. Based on the analysis of existing approaches and models of team building, as well as the empirical data obtained, a package of specific practical recommendations was developed for general education organizations engaged in innovative activities. The scientific novelty is determined: the essence and content of the concept of a project team as a group for the development and implementation of innovative projects are determined. The specificity of the project team in educational institution (organizational structure, the heterogeneity of the composition of the teams, the nature of tasks), which expands the available scientific ideas about team building in educational institutions; the algorithm of formation of project teams in educational institution; developed and tested a model of management of development of the project team in General education; identified and justified legal documents, regulatory project management in educational organizations; organization of project teams ' activities in the development and implementation of innovative projects; an effective system for motivating creative employees to participate in project activities as part of a team is defined.

Full texts framework of the Learning Organization, comprised of the disciplines of Personal Mastery, Shared Vision, Mental Models, Team Learning, and Systems Thinking, in the English Language Preparatory Programs of two selected higher education institutions to determine what characteristics of a learning organization they possess. In this study, qualitative case study method was employed. The study was conducted in two organizations, one (Organization A), part of a private Englishmedium university, and the other (Organization B), part of a public Englishmedium university, in Ankara, Turkey. The sample contained seven administrators and twenty-two instructors from Organization A and seventeen instructors and 3 administrators from Organization B. The data collected through semi-structured interviews were analyzed using content analysis technique. The findings revealed that both organizations are evolving towards a learning organization, but have not institutionalized the five disciplines to an ideal state yet. Organization A is doing somewhat better than Organization B as regards the disciplines of Team Learning and Personal Mastery
however, there is no considerable difference between the organizations in terms of the disciplines of Shared Vision, Mental Models and Systems Thinking. Overall, in both organizations there are impediments in terms of the development and achievement of personal visions, learning of individuals and teams, development of a shared vision, surfacing and questioning mental models, and acting from a comprehensive systems approach.

Full textThe research project we are presenting focuses on the study and the reconstruction of the personality and artworks of Giulio Benso, a Genoese painter, draftsman and architect between Mannerism and Baroque, a specialist in illusionist decoration. The dispersion of a third of his works, in particular altar paintings and some fresco decorations, combined with the large number of graphic projects of different quality which have been attributed to him in recent decades have generated a bad reputation for his work, too often considered as a second-rate one compared to his contemporaries. In this study, his artistic activity will therefore be analyzed and contextualized using archival documents and ancient sources, from his training at the Academy of Giovanni Battista Paggi, a Genoese cultural environment, to the numerous Ligurian and foreign orders - German and French - assigned to him during his life, in order to highlight the contacts, the relationships with certain artists such as Giovanni Andrea Ansaldo and Giovanni Battista Carlone, the inspirations according to the Lombard, Venetian, Bolognese and Roman schools. The experiences he had and that allowed him to evolve in his work and to communicate his style to the successive generations of painters will also be taken into account. This analysis has been conducted in a precise and rigorous manner, by highlighting the existing documents on the artist, on his life and his works. The in-depth study of all the modern contributions published so far on him, on Genoa and on the Genoese school of the 16th and 17th centuries, has been enriched by documentary research in the various archives establishments of the Liguria region and by the examination of ancient sources, such as guides and manuscripts on the artistic production of the territory, with the aim of establishing the complete artistic activity of the painter, including destroyed paintings and frescoes, in order to highlight its evolution and the relationships with its contemporaries. This work thus presents an introductory part concerning the critical fortune lived by the painter during his life and after his death. This is followed by the second, which is focused on the study of his training at the Paggi Academy and on commissions for paintings and trompe l'oeil decorations received in Liguria. Then, a third chapter is devoted to missions abroad: in Germany, in Weingarten, described through the epistolary relationship between the artist and the sponsor Gabriele Bucellino, thanks to the old documents that were found and the letters transcribed by the heir of Benso, father Lorenzo Sertorio, and in France, in Cagnes-sur-Mer, in Provence, for which the vast iconographic and iconological program of the decor, chosen by the family, with a strong political reference has been studied. This study then presents two catalogs. One devoted to painting and the other to graphic production. The first follows a chronological order by mission, including lost or destroyed orders, thereby seeking to offer a reading of the painter’s artistic investment in the social and cultural framework of Liguria, Germany and France. Long-term orders such as those from the Annunziata del Guastato in Genoa from 1638 to 1647 or those for Weingarten from 1627 to 1667 are processed in their unit to facilitate the analysis of their development. This is followed by the catalog of drawings presented chronologically. The study of Giulio Benso's graphic production requires a rigorous and scientific analysis based on stylistic as well as technical and documentary checks. Studies conducted in the past on the artist's drawings have revealed many attribution problems, which involve reordering. It is therefore proposed to try to establish the complete corpus of his graphic work by re-examining all the sheets attributed to him and those of the Genoese school kept in public and private collections

Full textThe aim of this study is to investigate how different occupational categories within adult education in Swedish for immigrants (SFI) interact within the framework of their common business. As a method for carrying out the study, I have used qualitative interviews. The data material presents opportunities and difficulties that appear around working together. The empirical material has been processed through thematic analysis. The theoretical starting point for the study is a model of different degrees of vertical and horizontal integration for understanding collaboration. The result shows that there are a variety of temporary collaborations. Through interviews the study give examples of professional categories that meet in everyday work. In addition, work takes place between different professional categories in a more coordinated form through teams. Furthermore, the respondents' experiences of the value of collaborating, such as strengthened relationships and a better working environment, are made visible. Another highlight that is mentioned is the increased possibility for staff to identify the need for support from the students, which leads to better adaptations of teaching. The result also shows how the business is coordinated through teams, and the potential for collaboration. Cooperation between professional categories is not fully achieved today within sfi. The conclusions show that there is a consensus among managers and other occupational categories considering which mechanisms make it difficult or possible to cooperate. There are no routines for collaboration today. What employees also demand is someone who leads the work, makes decisions and bears the responsibility of planning, implementing and following up the collaboration.

Locating in the northern Taiwan, Pinglin is the only tea town with all of the area covered by traditional tea industry in Taiwan. Due to the restricted regulations of the Feicsui Fresh Watershed Protection Zone, neither industries nor developments could establish in the entire Pinglin area. Therefore, Pinglin is the only tea region in Taiwan with small household size tea entrepreneurs everywhere. Every head of a tea household could potentially be the key person to manage their own tea business, that is “tea household entrepreneur”(茶戶長). Within this context in mind, each tea household entrepreneur produces his characteristics of tea flavors and styles that could be distinguished from others. Based on Qualitative methods, I examine how local tea household entrepreneurs create the Pinglin tea crafts to be local special products within the struggles of the rapid industrialization in the global tea trade and the declination of Taiwan tea exporting business.

In Taiwan, a group of tea lovers try hard to learn how to make good flavor tea. They are even devoted to a complete training provided by the associations and set goals to become certified tea masters by passing the tests. The recreational specialization stages require not only characteristics of serious leisure activities but also certain degrees of involvement and construction of related professional knowledge. It is a process for recreation turning from serious leisure activities to high-specialized ones, so the further research on this aspect is of great worth. This paper, applying previous literature and in-depth interviews, aims to explore the motives of those professional tea master instructors who have been certified tea masters or those who won the tea-making or tea sommelier competitions before. Besides, it also focuses on how their jobs, daily lives and leisure time have been changed because of tea and what their visions are for the future. The results show that most of these tea masters have a mission of tea cultural heritage and great perseverance. Through the tea-making learning process, they have got self-confidence and a sense of achievement. The specialization process also expand their social life, cultivate their taste, change their future career a lot, and even locate the spirit of Chinese culture. This research also finds out that tea has closely integrated into the daily lives of the professional instructors as well as other tea masters who have serious recreation characteristics. Based on the core value of tea culture, they also develop it to all levels of the lives, including aesthetics and life philosophy, which are quite different from other serious recreational activity participants. As for recreational specialization of tea masters, it is divided into high, middle, and low levels from the differences among the degrees of experience, techniques, ability, life center involvement, and equipments. However, the tea masters’ devotion to the associations, their enthusiasm for promoting tea arts, understanding of tea culture and the attitude toward it are all the same.

Tea originated in China, but it is an economically important crop for Taiwan. Mechanization of Taiwanese tea manufacturing began after the Japanese occupation of Taiwan, during which the volume of Taiwan’s tea exports to Japan increased. World War II also greatly influenced the volume of Taiwan’s tea trade. Although the export volume peaked in the 1970s, factors such as the rapid appreciation of the New Taiwan dollar (NT$) and increasing production costs led to setbacks in tea exports and triggered the transformation of the tea trade from one that was export oriented to one that was supported by domestic demand. The history of tea competition in Taiwan can be traced to the Japanese occupation period. Tea exhibitions at competition and trade fairs officially commenced in 1975. The Tea Research and Extension Station’s assistance to tea farmers improved their tea cultivation and production technologies. This, along with the continuous efforts of organizers and the recognition of consumers, created teas of competition recognized for their quality assurance and price guarantee in today’s Taiwanese market. Competitions are held for any type of tea, according to season and cultivar, and tea exhibitions are held concurrently at competition and trade fairs. The transaction prices of deals in the exhibitions and trade fairs, particularly the auction prices, influence current market prices. Our case study subject is tea master Zhang Qing Song from Zhushan Township, who has won numerous competitions and has become known as the “Ever-Victorious man” in the tea industry. Using qualitative in-depth interviews, we aim to improve understanding of the background and experience of the “Ever-victorious man” in tea competition to further explore the factors and methods that contribute to the competition success. Thereby, we can provide a reference or learning opportunity for other industry fields or for those who are new to learn tea processing or marketing.

With the changing of the era and the implementation of a 12-year compulsory education system, the current national curriculum in Taiwan has been modified in accordance with the diverse social structures. Traditional teaching and testing methods are no longer to meet the needs of modern students. In addition to preparing for senior high school entrance exams, junior high school students should also be encouraged to take a journey of self-discovery with their peers and simulated autonomous motivation for keeping up with the changing times. E-mei Town, located in the south of Hsinchu county, is mainly populated with those of Hakka ethnic descent. Most industries in the area are agricultural-based or tea production-related. E-mei is especially known for its Oriental Beauty Tea. However, due to the impact of changing values of the society, young people think that tea making and tea planting are too labor intensive; therefore, some tea plantations have been replaced by fruit tree orchards. This phenomenon has aroused the concern of local school teachers. They think that is important to root local tea culture and humanities into education, especially in the education of younger generations. Therefore, in order to enhance students' understanding of "tea culture," the school has been promoting tea culture and related educational programs since 2010. In addition, they have organized all-school, junior tea master training programs to help students learn more about hometown culture through the tea making experiences. E-mei Junior High School tea master training courses are used as the main theme for this study. It uses qualitative case study research methods and interviews as main sources of relevant information. In addition , the study uses observation as a secondary source of gathering information. The conclusion summarized by SWOT analysis explores the effectiveness of combining training courses with tea culture for students and locals. The conclusions reveal three aspects (1) The journey and related issues involved in promoting E-mei Junior High School tea culture courses. (2) The strategy and applicability of E-mei Junior High School tea culture as the school’s hallmark (3) The results of a school and community sharing partnership. The above findings and suggestions can be used as reference for other schools’ in related curricula in the future. The study found that the purpose of the training course for E-mei primary and secondary school students is to enable students to experience tea culture through the operation of the tea ceremonies and to catch local residents their attentions and interests in tea culture. The curriculum was targeting only a small percentage of children in the beginning and change to the cover the whole school students because the principal hopes such activities can help children settle their minds and improve their concentration in learning. After years of promotion, tea culture has become the distinguishing features of the school. The design of the curriculum has matured under the guidance and assistance of professionals from all walks of life. Although E-mei Township still faces the future threats of fewer children and diminishing tea plantations, the role of cultural heritage of school helps the promotion of tea culture education and positive impact on the development of the industry significantly . In the long run, tea culture education is a very important part to sustain traditional social culture. Keywords: distinctive curriculum, E-mei junior High School, little tea master, cultural heritage

The purpose of this study was to understand the status of current research within master theses and doctoral dissertations on the tea industry of our nation. Article searches had been conducted through the “National Digital Library of Thesis and Dissertations in Taiwan” with the first article appearing in 1969, and until 2011, a total of 692 pertinent articles. Content analysis had been applied, and the basic information, level of oxidation, tea studies library classifications and index, place of origin, subject classification, research methods, and number of keywords were placed under descriptive statistical analysis, and doing referential statistics on the elements that affect number of theses writtings. The research results are as follows: 1.The number of theses and dissertations has risen each year; theses and dissertations were mainly produced at National Taiwan University and National Chung Hsing University. 2.Most projects were advised by one advisor, and consisted majorly of master theses. 3.Willingness to allow downloads of entire articles was low, and average citation numbers were on the lower side of the scale. 4.In terms of categorizing by level of oxidation, the main of theses and dissertations could not be categorized as such, evidence that research projects have not been focused on the area of specific levels of oxidation, and are mostly concerned with comprehensive examinations on the general tea industry. 5.According to the tea studies library classifications and index, the first category consisted majorly of the health benefits of tea, followed by tea industrialization. No research projects had been found to discuss tea related article translations. 6.In terms of place of origin in tea production, most theses and dissertations did not specify place of origin. Of those that did specify place of origin, the majority of locations were respectively Central Taiwan, Northern Taiwan, followed by non-domestic regions and Southern Taiwan, and lastly Eastern Taiwan. 7.In terms of subject classification, the majority of theses and dissertations were produced at National educational institutes. Within the category of National educational institutes, most were higher education institutes, and the same goes for the category of private educational institutes. 8.In terms of research method, most employed the quantitative research method. 9.In terms of number of keywords, most listed between three to five. 10.Policies in promoting recreational farming, joining the World Trade Organization, and enforcing the Agriculture and Food Traceability Project have all had significant impact on the number of theses and dissertations produced. Changes in industry structure, enabling downloads of complete articles, and the abolishment of tea manufacturing management rules have had no significant impact on the number of articles produced.
