Abstract:
This study examined the relationship between project risk mitigation and the performance of the Tea System Automation Project in Kenya. As automation efforts intensify within firms managed by the Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA), addressing risks associated with technological adoption has become critical to ensuring project success. The research explored how minimizing key risks — including technological setbacks and operational interruptions — impacts the efficiency, reliability, and overall effectiveness of the automation process. A descriptive research design was employed, focusing on project managers, executives, and other primary stakeholders involved in the implementation. Specifically, the study targeted 69 project managers, 69 project coordinators, and 207 project committee executives, amounting to 345 participants. The sampling frame comprised 69 active KTDA-managed tea processing firms, from which a sample of 185 individuals was randomly selected using the Taro Yamane (1967) sampling formula. The findings indicate that while risk mitigation strengthens project stability and concentration, it demands thorough planning and active stakeholder engagement to prevent disruptions and accountability challenges. The study’s outcomes underscore the importance of effective risk management practices in enhancing the performance of tea system automation initiatives within KTDA-managed entities and similar environments.

Abstract:
<em>The object of research is the processes of human resource management of projects in a multi-project environment. In a multi-project environment, the level of team autonomy within an organization can be different, and the lack of a resource control system at the portfolio level reduces the effectiveness of critical organization knowledge management. The main hypothesis of the study is the assumption that an adequate understanding of customer requirements is crucial to ensure project management, and the effectiveness of human resource management in a multi-project environment depends on the effectiveness of determining resource requirements in the formation of project teams.</em> <em>During the study, methods of system analysis are used in the study of human resource management processes and modeling of the formation of requirements for the project team. A competency-based approach is also used in the development of a method for generating resource requirements and an optimization theory apparatus for formulating and solving problems of forming project teams in multi-project environment under given restrictions.</em> <em>In order to reduce the likelihood of resource conflicts, it is proposed to analyze the initial data when forming requirements for the project team. Coordination of resource requirements at the stage of team formation will reduce the risks of resource conflicts during the implementation of projects included in the project portfolio. Possible results of the analysis of stakeholder requirements are considered.</em> <em>A method for generating resource requirements in a multi-project environment is proposed, based on an analysis of stakeholder interest in human resource management processes, taking into account the loyalty of stakeholders, which, unlike existing ones, takes into account the consistency of resource constraints defined by stakeholders. This will allow the formation of agreed requirements for the resources of projects and programs.</em> <em>The generated requirements are the initial data for building project teams using the proposed method of forming teams in a multi-project environment. A model of the process of forming requirements for the project team is built. For the purpose of automation, a software package has been developed that allows to generate options for building project teams with an indication of the characteristics of the options, which will further optimize the composition of the team.</em>

Abstract:
The article considers the features of the automated system of tenant service (ASOO) project building. It has been noted that the Vaadin is one of the platforms for creating web applications that provide convenient tools to support the interaction of software and hardware of the system and user interface. Among the main advantages of the framework, firstly, is the ability to create the user interface using only Java programming language, without JavaScript, HTML and CSS using. Vaadin programs run on the server and run automatically as well as securely. Building on a well-prepared Java ecosystem, the framework works with any development environment, tools and libraries. Secondly, it is a wide range of options for creating a user interface with minimal writing of program code: Form Inputs, Visualization &amp; Interaction, Layouts, Pro Components. In addition, the framework API provides the ability to automatically and securely organize two-way communication between client and server, use Java Bean Validation, its own validators, and perform data conversions during data validation. The Apache Maven framework, which builds a project based on POM files, has been used as a means of automating work with software projects. A set of Spring Boot utilities has been used to automate the setup process, as well as speed up the process of creating and deploying the application. The use of Spring Boot is due to the following options: the ability to create a standalone application based on Spring; simplification of dependency management in the project through the use of starter-packages (for example, spring-boot-starter-data-jpa) and automatic configuration of the application based on the selected starter-package; built-in support for servlet container; no need to generate code and configure XML. MySQL relational database management system could be used as a database, as this open source technology has a wide range of functionality that can be used when developing dynamic web pages.

Abstract Background: Our laboratory implemented a major automation system in November 1998. A related report describes a 4-year process of evaluation and planning leading to system installation. This report describes the implementation and performance results over 3 years since the system was placed into use. Methods: Project management software was used to track the project. Turnaround times of our top 500 tests before and after automation were measured. We compared the rate of hiring of employees and the billed unit per employee ratio before and after automation by use of linear regression analysis. Finally, we analyzed the financial contribution of the project through an analysis of return on investment. Results: Since implementation, the volume of work transported and sorted has grown to &amp;gt;15 000 new tubes and &amp;gt;25 000 total tubes per day. Median turnaround time has decreased by an estimated 7 h, and turnaround time at the 95th percentile has decreased by 12 h. Lost specimens have decreased by 58%. A comparison of pre- and post-implementation hiring rates of employees estimated a savings of 33.6 employees, whereas a similar comparison of ratios of billed units per employee estimated a savings of 49.1 employees. Using the higher figure, we estimated that the $4.02 million cost of the project would be paid off ∼4.9 years subsequent to placing the system into daily use. Conclusions: The overall automation project implemented in our laboratory has contributed considerably to improvement of key performance measures and has met our original project objectives.

Abstract Solar energy is considered the most important form of renewable energy resource, as the sun is the main source of energy for our planet Earth. Solar tracking makes sure the sun’s rays are always projected at an angle perpendicular to the solar panel. The main aim of our project is to increase the quantity of energy generated from the solar panel by using an automated Solar tracking system to capture the maximum radiation of the sun i.e., the maximum intensity of the sun’s rays. Our proposed system consists of the development of an automated water pumping system with the help of solar tracking. The proposed method increases efficiency. The power generated from a solar panel is stored in a battery and the power is sent to the water pump only when the soil is dry, this happens with the help of a soil moisture sensor. The solar panel rotates with the help of a DC motor and light-dependent resistor sensors. This is a low-cost project with the embedded system to produce electrical energy from the solar panels by using a microcontroller and sensors light-dependent resistors, where the power required for the automation of the tracking system and the working of the microcontroller is given by the electrical energy which is produced from the sun itself. In rural areas where there are several power cuts, this project can be very useful for the supply of water where the required power is given to the motor from the battery which is charged by the solar panel from its maximum intensity of light which can be tracked by the tracking system.
