This study investigated teachers' narrative choice and students' historical thinking. The research examined the influence of varying curriculum materials, including a graphic novel, feature film and discovery trunk, on student thinking about the Holocaust. The study was conducted in three social studies 11 classes, taught by the researcher, in an urban public secondary school. Data used in the study consisted of student essay samples and informal classroom observations. This thesis explores the motivation of a group of graduates who have chosen to train as Classics teachers. Classics graduates have a relatively high employment rate, entering a wide range of careers. One such career is teaching. Syftet med vår undersökning var att ta reda på hur några lärares kunskaper, erfarenheter, uppfattningar och deras egna sätt att lösa uppgifter påverkar deras val av arbetsmetod i klassrummet. Vi intervjuade lärare med olika bakgrunder och metoden vi använde för att komma fram till vårt resultat var kvalitativa intervjuer. Resultatet visade att lärarna i undersökningen vill arbeta undersökande för att skapa relationell förståelse hos eleverna men klarar inte alltid av det då de själva saknar tillräckliga ämneskunskaper för detta. Utifrån resultatet kunde vi dra slutsatsen att lärarnas ämneskuns
