Abstract:
The article is devoted to the problem of introduction into the practice of personnel management of the penal system of modern command formation technologies. Considering the technology of teambuilding as one of the means of increasing the efficiency of work with the personnel of the penal system, the author reveals the content and importance of teambuilding technology in the activities of the organization, characterizes the modern ways of forming a team. Attention is focused on the problematic aspects associated with the use of modern teambuilding technologies in working with the personnel of the penal system (limited amounts of funding, lack of skills to use non-standard instruments of impact on personnel and internal readiness for their application). Based on the analysis of the current state of work with the cadres of the criminal executive system and the concept of the formation of teams, proposals are formulated on the use of teambuilding technology in the institutions and bodies of the FPS of Russia: 1) the personnel policy of the institutions and bodies of the FPS of Russia should be based on the principles of command management, which will allow to coordinate the mutual interests of employees and the penal system, to strengthen the organizational culture of structural divisions; 2) the activities to form a team should become an integral part of the personnel management system of the institutions and bodies of the FPS of Russia, concern all employees and be of a regular nature; 3) the nature and content of team building activities should develop, change and become more complex as the team rallies; 4) at the initial stage of introduction of teambuilding technologies, the most acceptable form is the organization of professional holidays and the holding of special event-events with elements of team building.

Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to identify main success factors for the effective implementation, operation and certification of an energy management system (EnMS) in accordance with ISO 50001, which represents the fastest growing standard for management systems in the world (International Organization for Standardization, 2013). Design/methodology/approach – Due to rising energy costs, increasing global competitive pressure and the demand for environmentally friendly products companies all over the world consider the implementation of an EnMS to meet future challenges. For that reason a survey (Jochem et al., 2013) among already certified German companies has been conducted focussing on organizational, teambuilding and technical aspects. Findings – Results indicate that EnMSs are most commonly built on already existing management structures and therefore staff organization is crucial for the success of the project. Still, monetary aspects such as energy related cost savings seem to be the decisive criterion for the operation of an EnMS. Regarding teambuilding aspects specific technical expertise is required which leads to cross-functional teams focussing on the field of production. In addition key technical and administrative measures for an effective EnMS were identified. Originality/value – The study provides best practice knowledge and gives interested companies the advantage to benefit from both the positive experiences of the participants as well as to prevent potential contra productive activities during the implementation, certification and operation of an EnMS.

Abstract:
The heart wrenching and disturbing statistics regarding bullying in the schools is a reason for concern. Looking at a popular definition of bullying: aggressive intentional behavior involving an imbalance of power or strength (Stop Bullying.gov), one can see a lack of caring and compassion for others. The 4-H Study of Positive Youth Development (Lerner, et al., 2008) indicates the 4-H Youth Development Program is successfully guiding youth onto the best trajectory for positive youth development. As a result of the Lerner PYD study, one rural school in Oregon invited an Extension 4-H Educator to teach leadership skills to children in grades 4-8. The goal of the training was to increase caring and compassion through interactive, teambuilding activities thereby reducing bullying. Evaluation results indicated a significant impact by the program on youth defining their ability to positively work with others.

Abstract:
Novel methods to increase crop productivity are required to meet anticipated demands for food, feed, fiber, and fuel. It is becoming feasible to use modern sensors and data analysis techniques for predicting plant growth and productivity based on genomic, phenotypic, and environmental data. To design and construct crops that deliver desired traits requires trained personnel with scientific and engineering expertise as well as a variety of “soft” skills. To address these needs at Iowa State University, we developed a graduate specialization called “Predictive Plant Phenomics” (P3). Although some of our experiences may be unique, many of the specialization’s principles are likely to be broadly applicable to others interested in developing graduate training programs in plant phenomics. P3 involves transdisciplinary training and activities designed to develop communication, teambuilding, and management skills. To support students in this demanding and unique intellectual environment, we established a two-week boot camp before their first semester and founded a community of practice to support students throughout their graduate careers. Assessments show that P3 students understand the transdisciplinary training concepts, have formed a beneficial and supportive community, and interact with diverse faculty outside of their home departments. Abstract:
Purpose: An Integrative Student Learning (ISL) activity was developed with the intent to enhance the dynamic of student teamwork and enhance student learning by fostering critical-thinking skills, self-directed learning skills, and active learning.
Case Study: The ISL activity consists of three portions: teambuilding, teamwork, and a facilitator driven "closing the loop" feedback discussion. For teambuilding, a set of clue sheets or manufacturer's drug containers were distributed among student pairs who applied their pharmaceutical knowledge to identify two more student pairs with similar clues or drugs, thus building a team of six. For teamwork, each team completed online exams, composed of integrated pharmaceutical science questions with clinical correlates, using only selected online library resources. For the feedback discussion, facilitators evaluated student impressions, opened a discussion about the ISL activity, and provided feedback to teams' impressions and questions. This study describes three different ISL activities developed and implemented over three days with first year pharmacy students. Facilitators' interactions with students and three surveys indicated a majority of students preferred ISL over traditional team activities and over 90% agreed ISL activities promoted active learning, critical-thinking, self-directed learning, teamwork, and student confidence in online library searches.
Conclusions: The ISL activity has proven to be an effective learning activity that promotes teamwork and integration of didactic pharmaceutical sciences to enhance student learning of didactic materials and confidence in searching online library resources. It was found that all of this can be accomplished in a short amount of class time with a very reasonable amount of preparation.

Quintas, Andreia Sofia Trinca. "Plano de negócios “Ecosaraz Glamping”." Master's thesis, Escola Superior de Hotelaria e Turismo do Estoril, 2017. http://hdl.handle.net/10400.26/24644.

Abstract:
We want to make the tourist activity services more attractive by using the teambuilding services, which will contribute to making the project more viable in economic terms. Ecotourism or Nature Tourism is a concept that intends to provide unique experiences and therefore is imposing itself. Enjoying a few days of rest in contact with nature is a good way to relax. Glamping is a new concept in the touristic offer, which wants to put together the contact with nature as a unique experience and provide the comfort that is not found in the regular camping park. Considering the glamping business cycle, we think that other type of services for national firms can contribute to making the offer more attractive and we thought about teambuilding. Glamping has been well received by the international market, but in Portugal is not sufficiently developed and it can be a good business choice in parts of the country, where we can find an environment well preserved and good natural quality. We finalise the research presenting the Business Plan which will allow us to put our project into action. The implementation of the business plan needs an initial investment of 305.049 euros, financed by 76% of owner’s capital and a bank financing of 80.000 euros. Considering the forecast in the first year of activity is expected to achieve a 146.300 euros sales volume and considering a realistic scenario the project is financially viable once it presents a 108.651 euros of Net Present Value (NPV), an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 15,89% and a Payback Period of 6 years.
