Abstract:
This thesis is concerned with the introduction of a technology, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) for facilities management (FM) services. FM is argued to be a complex discipline which results in diverse discourses from actors internal and external to FM. In order to investigate and understand what this means for FM, concepts and a model from service innovation theory are employed. The Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) position based on social constructionism also informs the investigation. Empirically, one in-house FM department in a financial institution was used to case study the introduction of RFID for the FM areas of security access control and workplace management. The case study involved two years of field work where the author had a dual role of being employed by the organisation and a researcher for her study. Primary data included participant observations and interviews with actors. Secondary data was in the form of corporate artefacts. Findings illustrate the discourses of the relevant actors toward the technology introduction in a critical way. The discourses that emerged at each stage of the innovation process described in the case study either hindered or drove technology introduction. Power and context played a role in determining the discourse that prevailed within each stage. The process of introducing the technology divulged into four trajectories which were strategy, technology, service professional or entrepreneur. Trajectories occurred simultaneously and certain trajectories were stronger than others depending on the innovation stage and the actors' discourses. Overall, lessons learnt that shed light in understanding technology introduction in FM was enabled from a unique methodological approach to this topic. Insights were pulled together and argued that discourses of actors at the micro and macro level of the power structure are influential in introducing technology. The introduction of new technology to FM is found to be complex due to the nature and context of the FM discipline.

Abstract:
This research investigates the impact of technological innovations (TIs) on the social sustainability of facilities management (FM) employees in South Africa. The rationale for the study is that no empirical evidence shows how the adoption of TIs impacts the social sustainability of FM employees. The study adopts the sequential mixed-methodology approach. The quantitative phase makes use of a questionnaire survey which formed the foundation for the qualitative interview phase. The relative importance index (RII) is used to analyse different questions, such as (1) the factors influencing the adoption of TIs in FM organisations (2) the impact of the TIs on FM practice, (3) the localisation of the employee social sustainability factors and (4) the determination of the impact of TIs on the social sustainability of FM employees. An Interpretive Structural Model (ISM) approach is used to determine which social sustainability factor(s) should be prioritised while promoting the social sustainability of the FM employees. The findings of this study show that cloud-based TIs, ICT-based TIs and sensor-based TIs are the most popular in FM organisations in South Africa. Furthermore, the impact of TIs on the core business factors in FM organisations have a mean score of between 3.00 to 3.19 depending on the factor of interest. The RII analysis led to the development of the initial FM employee social sustainability framework which identified “job security”, “remuneration” and “professional status” as the three most important FM employee social sustainability factors. However, the ISM analysis which considered hierarchy, driving power and dependence of the factors identified “organisation policy” as main factor in level five that drives other employee social sustainability factors. Furthermore, “overwork”, “autonomy”, “interpersonal relationship”, “work and home-life balance” and “retirement development plan” were the root factors in level four that must be prioritised by facilities managers to promote employee social sustainability. The study contributes to knowledge by identifying the most popular TIs that are adopted by FM organisations in South Africa, and determining the interrelationship, hierarchical importance and dependences of the various employees’ social sustainability factors in FM organisations. Through the development of the framework for FM employee social sustainability, facilities managers have the knowledge of the factors to prioritise when they need to promote the social sustainability of their employees. The study recommends that FM organisation policies on TI adoption must align with the overall socio-economic wellbeing program to contribute to social sustainability in South Africa.

The attempt is to leave the calm rural character of the surroundings undisturbed. The bulding is supposed to merge with the surroundings. Concerned are two apartment buildings with grand plans of 18 x 36 meters, disposing of three above-ground floors, no cellar, and a panel roof. In order to make the building merge with the surroundings, a wooden external cladding has been projected. Thus, the building is supposed to give the impression as if it was constructed of wood.

On the brigde runs the local comunication II/352 between villages Švábka and Měšín. The bridge demolition is part of the D1 renovation plan. The main reason behind the demolitions si that the bridge no longer meets it´s lenght requierments. During the demolition and construction will be any use of II/352 for public transport over the bulding site forbiden. This diploma thesis include technical report for construction technology project, time and financial evaluation of the project. Also the thesis deals with the selected technological regulations of carried out activities, timetable of controls and tests, trafice relationships on wider scale, a list of main building machines and mechanisms with their specification, a concept of the construction site, health and safety requlations, and in detail plans for realization of a road surface layers.

The subject of the thesis is the construction-technological project New flats of Study and Information Centre of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Brno. The building will offer a modern study environment for students. There will be a space for the central library as well as the study centre in the SIC. Also, the university archive and museum depository of the Institute of the History of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy will take place there. The building will be constituted of three five-floor blocks with overall groundplan size 72,40 x 30,50 m. The construction system is comprised by a ferroconcrete frame. The block C (the northern one) has one underground floor. At the level of the first uderground floor, the particular blocks are interconnected by an installation corridor. At the level of the second and third above-ground floor, the blocks are linked up with ferroconcrete connecting bridges. In the case of the fourth above-ground floor, the blocks are bridged by a dimensional steel construction which at the same time forms a roof and lifts the glassed frontage along the perimeter of the building. The fifth above-ground floor disposes of recessive steel extenstions of the engine rooms of air conditioning system.

На основі механіко-математичних методів, а також структурного синтезу транспортно-технологічних механізмів сільськогосподарських машин з розширеними технологічними можливостями розроблено морфологічну модель, яка представлена у вигляді морфологічних матриць, що утворюються шляхом числового визначення відповідних альтернатив морфологічної таблиці, з проведенням якісного оцінювання кожного з варіантів транспортно-технологічних механізмів із розширеними технологічними можливостями за трьома параметрами: продуктивністю, якістю виконання процесу та мінімальною собівартістю виготовлення й експлуатації. Розроблено математичні та динамічні моделі технологічних процесів роботи транспортно-технологічних механізмів неперервної дії сільськогосподарських машин із визначенням кінематично-конструктивних і силових чинників. Зокрема розроблено математичні моделі динамічного процесу переміщення сипкого середовища в циліндричних трубах по криволінійних трасах за допомогою скребкового канатного робочого органу у вигляді системи пружних одновимірних тіл, які безвідривно переміщують сипке середовище по криволінійних траєкторіях, що описують динаміку горизонтальних та вертикальної віток робочого органу транспортера. Розроблено теорію динамічного процесу у вітках транспортера й побудови розв’язку вказаних нелінійних крайових задач, що дозволяє отримати рівняння у стандартному вигляді, які визначають вплив основних зовнішніх та внутрішніх чинників на визначальні параметри динамічного процесу робочого органу. Проведено комплекс експериментальних досліджень для встановлення функціонально-експлуатаційних характеристик розроблених скребкових трубчастих та гвинтових транспортно-технологічних механізмів із використанням розробленого стендового обладнання, в якому використовувався автоматизований привод з перетворювачем частоти і персональним комп’ютером з відповідним програмним забезпеченням.<br>Диссертация посвящена важной научно-технической проблеме, которая заключается в разработке методов проектирования и расчета конструктивных и технологических параметров рабочих органов сельскохозяйственных машин, что позволит наиболее эффективно транспортировать сыпучую сельскохозяйственную продукцию. На основе механико-математических методов, а также структурного синтеза транспортно-технологических механизмов сельскохозяйственных машин с расширенными технологическими возможностями разработана морфологическая модель, представлена в виде морфологических матриц. Они образуются путем числового определения подходящих альтернатив морфологической таблицы, с проведением качественной оценки каждого из вариантов транспортно-технологических механизмов с расширенными технологическими возможностями по трем параметрам: производительности, качеству выполнения процесса и минимальной себестоимости изготовления и эксплуатации. Разработаны математические и динамические модели технологических процессов работы транспортно-технологических механизмов непрерывного действия сельскохозяйственных машин с определением кинематически-конструктивных и силовых факторов. В частности, разработаны математические модели динамического процесса перемещения сыпучей среды в цилиндрических трубах по криволинейным трассам с помощью скребкового канатного рабочего органа в виде системы упругих одномерных тел, которые безотрывно перемещают сыпучую среду по криволинейным траекториям, которые описывают динамику горизонтальных и вертикальной веток рабочего органа транспортера. Разработана теория динамического процесса в ветках транспортера и построения решения указанных нелинейных краевых задач позволяет получить уравнения в стандартном виде, которые определяют влияние основных внешних и внутренних факторов на определяющие параметры динамического процесса рабочего органа. Исследовано влияние стохастичности размерных параметров тягово-пластинчатых безвтулковых цепей сельскохозяйственного оборудования усовершенствованной конструкции, предложено неравномерность нагрузки пластин внутренних и внешних звеньев оценивать вероятным коэффициентом, для которого определены минимальные и максимальные значения. Полученные зависимости, характеризующие кинематические и энергосиловые параметры процесса работы быстроходного винтового гофрированного транспортера-смесителя при перемещении груза, что улучшает условия смешивания сыпучих грузов. Проведен комплекс экспериментальных исследований для установления функционально-эксплуатационных характеристик разработанных скребковых трубчатых и винтовых транспортно-технологических механизмов с использованием разработанного стендового оборудования, в котором использовался автоматизированный привод с преобразователем частоты и персональным компьютером с соответствующим программным обеспечением.<br>The thesis covers an important scientific and engineering issue dealing with developing design and estimation methods of structural and technological parameters of agricultural machines tools making the most effective transportation of granular agricultural products possible. A morphological model based on both mechanical and mathematical methods and type synthesis of transportation- technological mechanisms of agricultural machines with technological expandability has been developed. The model is presented in the form of morphological matrices, obtained by numerical procedure of the certain choices of morphological table. The estimation of each transportation- technological mechanisms version with expended engineering capabilities according to three parameters (capacity, process performance quality, minimum manufacture and operation cost) has been made. Mathematical and dynamic models of technological operation processes of continuous transportation- technological facilities of agricultural machines have been developed. Kinematic - structural and power factors have been determined, in particular. Mathematical models of dynamic process of granular medium transportation in cylindrical tubes on curved paths by a rope scraper in the form of a system of elastic one-dimensional bodies, constantly transporting the medium on the curved trajectories, describing the dynamics of the transporting tool horizontal and vertical runs have been developed. The theory of dynamic process in the transporter runs and solution construction of the given non- linear boundary value problems has been proposed. This theory enables to obtain standard equations determining the influence of main inner and outer factors on the key parameters of the tool dynamic process. A number of experiments for determining the functional and operational characteristics of the developed scraping tube and screw transportation- technological facilities using the developed stand automatic-driven equipment with frequency converter and PC with necessary software have been made.
