Abstract:
The global use of technology might have influenced all of education institutions to follow the current trend of the technological usage. The use of information and communication technology or ICT become a key role in improving education. The study aimed to determine the digital tools utilized by the teachers and how the English teachers perceived teaching English in the digital era, how English teachers cope with the technological innovations and the way they look at the future of English teaching and learning with advent of digital learning. The study employed the qualitative method with interview as the instruments in gathering data among the 10 English teachers at USANT, Iriga City, Philippines. Results show that the respondents or key informants the most widely used are mobile phone, laptop, tablets, computer, e-mail, and Google Translator, while the least widely used are Grammarly, MOOC and Kahoot!. Google Classroom, Edmodo, digital boards, and Quizlet. Moreover, English teachers cope with technological innovations in three ways: first, is by learning through self- discovery; second, by attending trainings and seminars related to technology and digital learning and third, by seeking help from peers. This research concluded that the English teachers use digital tools for English language teaching as supplemental aids; that technology cannot substitute an English teacher; English teachers cope with the technological innovations gradually be learning by themselves, with others and by attending seminars; the English teachers are responsive to the changes in technology.

Abstract:
Education has over the years moved from one stage of development to the other with its peculiarities and challenges. There have also been series of innovations, strategies and policies based on the changes in the society. Some of these changes require technological approach which usually poses challenges because the country, like other developing countries, is ill-prepared and unable to immediately address each educational challenge as it appears. The paradigm shift, general acceptance of the new move or model in global technological education, government policies and massive enrollment for e-education and e-learning by the learners, the attitudes of all concerned in the design and full implementation of ICT and e-learning policies in education should be sustained. Some of the students and even the teachers or facilitators may still prefer the print materials which may limit their knowledge, effectiveness and resourcefulness with time. As a result, there is an increase in demand for a more flexible and cost effective means of education through e-education, e-learning or open and distance learning. This has brought a paradigm shift on how people generally view the significance of e-learning for higher education in Philippines.

Abstract:
Background/Aims Public hospitals are the primary means of healthcare delivery in developing countries. Given the pressing need for efficient health services, it is imperative to know the extent to which a country's public healthcare institutions meet an ever increasing public demand. This study aimed to assess the state of hospital facilities among public health care institutions in a developing country. Methods Descriptive research methods were used, including needs analysis along with management and client satisfaction surveys, in order to analyse information on issues that related to the management of hospital facilities in the Philippines. Various members of the hospital community were selected to assess different aspects of hospital management. Results The results of this study show that most concerns stemmed from the lack of financial resources, materials, equipment and technological innovations; insufficient knowledge, skills and human resources; and problems that related to processes and methodologies. Conclusions Public hospitals are in dire need of facility upkeep to maintain their operations. This has become a more pressing concern because of the very limited resources at the disposal of public hospitals. This study also highlighted the crucial role played by the national government in finding effective and efficient ways to address these issues and concerns to ensure successful delivery of healthcare services in the country.

Abstract:
In this globalised era, technological innovations in mobility and travel brought in international and intercultural contact which historically exposed the world population to diseases of pandemic levels. As we are already living in multilingual and multicultural societies, this contact amongst peoples necessitates the need for multilingual knowledge and educational materials production pertaining to public health measures. As established in recent literature on multilingual crisis translation initiatives from China and the Philippines, this discursive piece proposes that emergency language services should be formally institutionalised in public health organisations, most certainly in crisis prevention, responses, and mitigation. The COVID-19 pandemic expedited the need for such expertise and language experts all over the world are currently proposing to establish a new field in linguistics to tackle public health translation in emergency situations – emergency linguistics.

Abstract:
Nations can be seen as constructed and maintained by technological innovations. The eminent scholar Benedict Anderson underscored this as he noted the case of the Philippines' nation building process through print capitalism. Starting with Jose Rizal's novels written in Europe, there seems to be a phenomenon of imagining the homeland from the outside, something that has become a common exercise with globalization and its myriad results, such as diaspora and transnationalism. With the coming of technologies associated with the global exchange of locals, Filipino migrants have become more interactive. The Internet has become the ultimate medium through which the sense of community has been projected and re-articulated across time and space. This article explores the use of the Internet as a tool for virtual construction and imagination of the homeland and describes how Filipino migrants de/construct their homeland by comparing and contrasting it with the host nation, without necessarily compromising national myths and symbols.

Abstract:
This article provides an overview of how agricultural development and structural changes affects women in Southeast Asia. By employing critical literature review, it enumerates how global agriculture can be characterized as under a modern capitalist system of production by looking at trends on labor and distress migration, scientific and technological innovations (STIs), and intensification of non-traditional agricultural exports (NTAEs). Following this, it makes a case for Southeast Asia’s ASEAN4 (Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia) explaining how the conditions of women farmers should be explored further, not just in a developmental lens but in sociology of gender and family approaches. The article then discusses regional works about masculinization and feminization, engendered resistance, agency and multiplicity of identities, and intra-household relations. Towards the conclusion, it emphasizes points on challenging the terms “farmer” and “feminization,” reconsidering regional contexts, examining the family’s intra-household relationship, scrutinizing the position of the local state, and ways to move forward.

Abstract:
This research aimed to show an increasingly digitized world where technology continued to revolutionize how human interactions were enacted, so the teachers must transcend educational boundaries to provide quality education that was responsive to the needs of the 21st-century society. This research examined the Facebook wall postings of selected English senior high school teachers in Metro Manila, Philippines. Using thematic analysis, the research investigated and analyzes these Facebook posts (wall posts) to identify whether teachers; (1) could potentially initiate communication (student-teacher interaction, in particular online/via Facebook) and (2) used such social network site for academic/instructional purposes. Main themes identify in the student-teacher interaction are gratitude and appreciation, longing, interest, and status, while those that are recorded in the teachers’ wall posts are announcements, student activity documentation, and extra-curricular activities. The findings of this research help establish the importance of technology integration in the field of teaching and learning English as a second language. Moreover, the research is pivotal in the resurfacing of constructivism in education and the emergence of new communication norms brought about by technological innovations.

Abstract:
Purpose – This paper focuses on designing a purchase request and financial tracking system to better support the government agencies in fast, easy management and better understand a more comprehensive strategy for its financial activities. Method – It employs an agile prototyping approach for fast and cost-effective turnaround. UML approach was utilized for designing process models and data models. Results – The prototypes allow you to observe real user behavior as they interact with your design and obtain detailed feedback about your designs, alternatives, and ideas before implementing them. Various process and data models are designed and presented in this paper with exact and comprehend steps for the programmers to follow during the software development life cycle (SDLC). Conclusion – Making the developed models as the government's guide in engaging and embracing emerging technological innovations would impact the purchase request processes and financial tracking management quality. These models will certainly provide new knowledge, theories, and methods for the experts who will put these prints into action or implementation and other researchers who wish to seek facts relevant to purchase requests and financial tracking of government transactions. Recommendations – It is recommended to utilize this design to develop the software in a purchase request and financial tracking in government agencies in the Philippines. It is also recommended to consider adding PR Mapping; aside from tracking the PR through status, they could suggest adding the PR mapping to track the PR, upload other documents that require in their purchase request, and adding machine learning algorithms to predict the budget allocation of each office for the next incoming years. Research Implications – This paper's results will eventually be significant in the development of a purchase request system for different government agencies in the Philippines.

Abstract:
Globalization, international mobilization, and technological innovations are some demands of the future. Students must prepare to face these challenges and grasp the opportunities brought by the changing time. To succeed in this modern world, a wide range of knowledge, aptitudes and character qualities are important. This study assessed the 21st-century skills of the pre-service teachers in the Bataan Peninsula State University, Philippines based on the theory of Eight Habits of Highly Effective 21st Century Teachers by Andrew Churches. The researcher used the descriptive method of research and the respondents of this study were the 212 pre-service teachers. Frequency, percentage, weighted mean, t-test, and ANOVA were the statistical treatments used in this study. The researcher used the SPSS Statistical Package for the Social Sciences in the computation of data. The study found that most of the respondents were 24 years old and female. The study revealed the overall 21st century skills of the respondents as outstanding. Among the skills that respondents have is that being risk-takers, followed by being a model, visionary, adaptor, collaborator, leader, learner, while the lowest mean was on being a communicator. There was no significant difference in the 21st-century skills of the pre-service teachers when they were grouped according to profile. Because communication skills was found to be the weakest skill possessed by the respondents, teachers should focus more on the improvement of this skill by involving more students’ active participation in class and other school activities.

Abstract:
In this paper, we review the current Philippine archaeological record between c. 14,000 and 4000 cal.bpin the context of our developing understanding of human adaptation to post-glacial environments at the end of the Pleistocene, and the cultural and technological changes that were occurring across Southeast Asia during this period. Due to their location at the northwestern fringes of Wallacea, close proximity to Borneo and Taiwan, and the long Palawan coastline bordering the southern margins of the South China Sea, the Philippines have likely acted as a conduit for the movements of people, material culture and ideas between the islands of Southeast Asia throughout prehistory. Current research suggests that the Philippines were possibly embedded in larger maritime networks from the Late Pleistocene onwards. This appears to have been a period of significant social change and technological innovation, as illustrated by the appearance of new organic and inorganic technologies and the emergence of diverse burial traditions across Southeast Asia. These included sophisticated fishing strategies, techniques of hafting and composite tool production, and long-distance interaction across the Philippine archipelago and Island Southeast Asia perhaps as far as Near Oceania.

Abstract:
AbstractStructural transformation is one of the critical drivers of growth and development worldwide. In all countries that achieved development success, agriculture’s share of output and employment declined as industry’s share grew, followed by ‘deindustrialization,’ as services became dominant. Also, we observed productivity upgrading from low to high within each of the three sectors. Asia achieved structural transformation at a much faster speed than other developed regions partly because of the continuous deterioration of agricultural terms of trade. At the same time, the manufacturing industry drives Asia’s rapid growth because it has a number of essential features, such as a large scope for innovation and technological progress, scale economies, and the creation of better-paying jobs for a broad population. Yet, a few countries in Asia, such as the Philippines, face a critical question: can industrialization be bypassed for development? This chapter approaches these trends and issues by looking at aggregate statistics and long household panel data to discuss the Asian type of ‘canonical industrialization’ and ‘premature deindustrialization
