Full textThe adaptation of trucks to their environment raises important questions of the automotive industry of the northern countries as well as for the transport systems of the southern countries : the technological norm focussed on developed countries progresses quickly. This research aims mainly at analysing the trucks environment in sub-saharan country : ivory coast. In spite of significant road investments, it's a priori impossible to be sure that all vehicles will be used only on roads in good conditions. The utilisation of trucks can be defined as the resultant of the overall functioning of the transport system and the management pratices of the trucking sector. Trucks are over- and under-used. The maintenance and repair system plays an essentiel part : its meets an important demand and adapts itself to the technological evolution of the vehicles. The characteristics of heavy vehicles distributed by european firms reflect the change in the vehicle range of the country of origin. Taking into account the evolution of vehicles, the condition of an integrated development of environment of trucks and the consequences of a possible technological drift are analysed

Full textMany malfunctions are observed in enterprises stem from transfer of technology from developed countries to underdeveloped countries. The reason for such malfunctions may lie in working conditions, climatic, and organization of recipient industries and business structures, which are different from developed countries. When confronted with these malfunctions, some adaptive and regulative mechanisms are carried out by workers to compensate the organizational or technical systems conception deficiency. The focus of analysis is on two aspects of this situation : deviation of workers from their responsibilities and wellbeing of workers in this situation. This research proposes an analysis of two enterprises operating in ivory coast. So, a spectrum of ergonomy for underdeveloped countries in general and particularly african countries is presented. The behaviour of employees during malfunction and environmental temperature constraints are analysed in the two case studies : a vehicle lubricant producing company and a bank. The observations in these two case studies are relevant because they are analysed as determining factors of work control, which involve adaptive behaviour and are factors of management. Operative procedures are analysed to show the underlying cognitive process of work constraints control. The results emphasize the interest of this approach for analysing operative behaviours in constraint situation. Analysis done allowed pointing out how operators control and plan the result of an activity in middle term by additional pauses given for palliating environmental temperature constraints. These analysis show that the management of constraints by workers is an activity of regulation and recovery, according to the aims of the planning of the production

Full textCountries with fixed exchange rate from western Africa faced – these two last decades – strong macroeconomic disequilibria. The prediction of the law of one price for a small country does not hold for them, domestic prices of tradable did not really adjust. This dissertation deals with the problem of incomplete pass-through; the disconnection that may exist between exogenous variables (world prices; exchange rates) and the domestic price of tradable in Cote d’Ivoire. Under incomplete pass-through, the reaction of an economy toward some exogenous shock (Dutch disease or devaluation) differs from standard results under the small country hypothesis. This seems to be statistically relevant for Cote d’Ivoire where the domestic market of tradable is imperfectly competitive. An incomplete pass-through was then created by the regulatory framework that generated imperfectly competitive market structures, some sector even turning into non-tradable ones. Enacted regulations originated in a logic of power, the dominant elite had to cope with a demand for protection from strategic social groups. In this setting, economic policies have to be carefully designed. A game-theoretic analysis proves that, under some specific conditions, a sectoral liberalization does not imply pure and perfect competition on the domestic market and that a complete pass-through is not a certain outcome. Moreover, the regulatory framework can have a detrimental effect on competition when it implies asymmetric information. An econometric study, based on survey data, proves that tax advantages can negatively influence entries on a market and thus favor an incomplete pass-through. Finally, another econometric exercise is performed on price data. At the level of Ivoirian manufacturing firms, between 1993 and 1995, an incomplete pass-through existed. Out of exchange rate and world prices movements, this result is also explained by the importance of imperfect competition in this country. Some goods then became almost non-traded

Full textThe general objective of this thesis is first to establish a typology of ICT uses in the Ivorian educational environment and then to understand the obstacles to these uses by secondary school teachers. It aims to take stock of ICT integration a few years after the implementation of a technology-oriented education policy. This thesis, which mobilizes various disciplinary fields in order to better understand our problem, adopts a dual qualitative and quantitative methodology. For the qualitative approach, semi-directive interviews were held with the administrations of the schools approached, teachers and students in order to discover their realities regarding the integration of ICT into the education system. In terms of the quantitative approach, 444 questionnaires were distributed among students from 4 schools in and around Abidjan City to identify their ICT use habits and the implications of this integration in their school curricula. In addition, 102 questionnaires were also distributed to teachers in these schools to establish specific profiles between use and non-use.The main results of our research have established the different uses of ICT as a specific subject to be taught, the use of ICT in administrative tasks (both for teachers and their administrative managers) and finally the use of ICT as pedagogical tools to teach other subjects. It also reveals very disparate profiles for students between informed and novice users. In this context, the presence of equipment in institutions sometimes helps to overcome these digital inequalities. As for teachers, for lack of adequate training, most of them have not acquired the technical and pedagogical skills necessary for the appropriation of technology. And this situation constitutes for them one of the major obstacles to their use of ICTs because training plays a structuring role in the generalization of the practice. Beyond this first obstacle, other general obstacles related to the lack of motivation of teachers, the financial difficulties of schools in providing adequate materials and the lack of time explain these non-uses

Full textThis thesis examined the contribution of the kpainê dramatic language as applied in education of the Toura society. What is the content of this language and how can its educational effectiveness be accounted? In search for a response to this main research question, this study focused on a corpus of 6377 phrases selected in oral context and combined different complementary approaches. In effect, the context of this study is introduced by the use of a pragmatic approach. The second section sought to understand the logic that governs the construction of phrases and texts based on a structuralist approach. The section that proceeds verified the persuasive aptitude of the later approach by means of an augmentative method. The last section of the study closed by an interpretative semiotics. The analysis of the corpus showed that kpainê has a strategic ideological position in the Toura education system due to its dramatic possibilities.

Full textThe first reference to an industry in Ivory Coast go back to the XVIIth century, and concern the export of the palm oil produced by aboriginal populations, whereas the colonial history of Ivory Coast begins in 1893 and ends in 1960. Evoke an industry in Ivory Coast with regard to a chronological frame whick breaks the colonial period arouse questions, in the same line, to present a post-colonial industry and an industrial heritage would not know a better appreciation without answers about these questions. The industrial fact ensues from an antagonism between technology introduced by Europeans (colonists at first, cooperating then and finally partner in the development) and local practices of populations living in the forest area of Ivory Coast. Indeed, this particular space was at the origin of the shock of knowledges and know-how between two peoples, two cultures and two approaches in the production. School introduced in the territory met more or less important success because of leading transitions which contribute to build branches of industry based on sociocultural and technical transformations, certainly rough at first, but whose appropriation rise to a new shape of industry. Industrial heritage is a perfect testimony and its study a new contribution to the comprehension of this territory
