Enayati, Saeedé. "Cooperation industrielle et transfert de technologie : cas de l'Iran." Thesis, Nice, 2016. http://www.theses.fr/2016NICE0007/document.
Full textKnowledge and technology are key factors in the development and economic growth of all countries. At present, the creation of new technologies worldwide is the fact of a few rich countries only. Technological change is determined, largely, through the dissemination and the international transfer of technology. This study provides a comprehensive and detailed analysis on the subject of industrial cooperation and technology transfer to developing countries. Our study particularly focuses on Iran, a country geographically, politically and economically strategic. We have demonstrated the positive and negative consequences resulting from these cooperation on Iran’s economic growth, considering the key past events, current status and strategies for future development. We apply the Solow model (1956) as the basis of our econometric model to examine the impact of industrial cooperation of Iran on the country’s economic growth. In this regard, the Panel Data method is applied to a sample of 21 manufacturing industries in Iran, in a period of 23 years, from 1992 to 2013. The results of our model show that inputs of different industries; physical capital and human capital of Iran have significant positive effects on economic growth in the country, but the two main channels of industrial cooperation such as foreign investment and international trade have significant negative effects on economic growth of Iran. The effect of the interaction between foreign direct investment and trade is positive and significant for this country

Full textThe analysis comprises the participant observation of two multilateral devlopment assistance projects. The first case study consists of an informal sector project, introducing new products and manufacturing processes to metal-working arti sans in westafrica. The second one concerns the introduction of power generation equipment in large-scale industry in mexico. The important difference in the sociocultural, political and technological contexts lead us to restrict the analysis to the internal logic of such development projects. First, the symbolic coherence of the communication between foreign experts and their counterparts is reconstructed, there by identifying the transformation of the nature of the technical know-how. The second step of the analysis shows how the communication dynamic determines the implementation of the technology and the degree of the transfer of know-how. The presence of the researcher is used by the participants to act upon the transfer and this utilisation allows in turn to identify their constraints on objectifying their relati onship. In both cases, the developmental content of these projects is effectively dematerialized in this relationship. This research proposes an alternative to the "intercultural situation" approach by demonstrating the hybrid nature of th e transactional relation in contemporary technical assistance

Full textTechnology is the hatchet of international trade. It is considered as a value, a good or a property whose creation, development or acquisition requires human and financial investments. Its holder can therefore have two main concerns: the protection of the technology and its return on investment. On one hand, the protection of the technology is done against its unauthorized exploitation, but also against its illicit obtaining or its disclosure when it is kept secret. Depending on the strategy adopted by the holders, two methods are available to them, the patent regime and the trade secret regime. Each of these methods represents advantages, but also disadvantages. On the other hand, the return on investments made in term of creation, development and acquisition of technologies can be achieved, on an international level through international technology transfer operations to countries which are in need of these technologies. In order to create a win-win partnerships between the emitters and receivers of technology, technology transfers can be carried out within the framework of international industrial cooperation contracts. These operations are defined as contracts or contractual groupings, spread over several years which, going beyond the simple sale or purchase of goods and services, involve the creation of a community of economic interests convergent but different between independent parties, belonging to different countries and driven by a desire for cooperation in the industrial sector. The cooperation contracts parties benefit from a wide contractual freedom restricted by certain mandatory provisions. Contractual clauses organize the relationship between the emitter and receiver of technology in an international industrial cooperation contract. The role of these clauses is to protect the technology and its holder against any counterfeiting or infringement as well as to organize the transfer of the technology to its beneficiary

Full textThe cyanurate networks build from the dicyanate (NCO-R-NCO) crosslinking reaction seem to have a good compromise of properties able to satisfy the new requirements of aeronautics and space construction. The modification of these networks by epoxy monomers form now the most of the commercial cyanate ester resins developed for composites, coatings, electronics. . . The present work studies one of these resin via a polyfunctional binary blend DCBA/TGMDA. The study of this cyanate/ epoxy mixture showed a complex reactional mechanism where cyanate monomers react first and then, at higher temperatures, the epoxy groups. Specifics curing conditions have been found to produce a cross linked material with a good compromise between thermal and mechanical properties. A Similar study have been carried out on a tertiary blend (DCBA/TGMDA/DGEBA) nearly close to the commercial cyanate ester resin

Full textThe research deals with the creation of technological diversity and its diffusion. This research proposes to combine the historic, economic and strategic perspectives. The diffusions of QWERTY keyboard and of the increasing-returns-path-dependence theory invented by Arthur and David are analysed. The results of the competition and diffusion models based on increasing-returns-path-dependence theory are opposed to the analysis of Liebowitz and Margolis. The probability of a technological lock-in with an inferior technology is minimised by the introduction of the strategic manoeuvring of technology sponsors and the study of the diffusion process of technological innovations. The notion of technological acceptability is preferred to an inferiority-and-superiority analysis because it allows a better comprehension of the phenomena of technological creation, diffusion and competitions

Full textThe rapidly increasing evolution of its needs, its output and its methods is forcing industry to make continuous transformations. Although this evolution depends on sound company management and the existence of a favorable environment, the essential driving force is technological innovation. Companies today are modifying the realm of competition by taking advantage of the discovery of new products and new techniques. Technology has acquired the status of a strategic variable in its own right, for small as well as for big firms. This new strategic option leads them to choose between competition and cooperation, between in company and outside research and between a centralized or a decentralized organizational structure. But if convergences can be seen in the innovative process, one can also note the enormous differences between big, and between small and medium size, firms. This new dimension of research will without doubt modify national economies and have an influence on international relations. The consequences of these transformations will be to change the competitive position for all. Nations are compelled to set up research policies in order to develop their technological capacities and thus guarantee their competitiveness on the international level. Even though scientific and technological progress depends partly on the resources allocated to it, its economic impact is far more dependant on the way it is implemented and administered than on the absolute importance of the engaged outlay

Full textThe study of new fractionation process of anhydrous milk fat (AMF) was carried out on two types of module : plane and axial. After a detailed study on the plane configuration, equiped by specific membranes, we noted that the behaviour of solid fat content of retentate compared to AMF initial was not satisfactory. This configuration presented the inconvenience of membrane fragility and cleaning difficulties. Thus the plane configuration was abandoned and an axial configuration, equiped with two types of membranes (hydrophilic and hydrophobic), was used. Fractionation on hydrophilic membrane showed TG partition cut-off at CN 40 between permeate and retentate. Thus, a permeate rich in low molecular weight TG (CN < 40) and a retentate rich in a high molecular weight TG (CN > 40) was obtained. Meanwhile, using hydrophobic membrane in fractionation gave permeate rich in low molecular weight TG, but also rich in polyinsaturated high molecular weight TG. 50, The physical properties, particularly the solid fat content, of permeate and retentate was modified considerably compared to initial AMF. Membrane fractionation of AMF is not an exclusif phenomenon because all TG present in the melted AMF could pass through these membranes. 50, membrane separation of TG was based on the physical and chemical affinity between the TG molecules and the membranes. This affinity was strongly affected by the hydrodynamics conditions of filtration

Full textIndependent algeria focussed most its efforts on heavy industry which was to be the main sector of the economic development process. Despite large investments, the results of this strategy was more or less a failure : renewed dependency both on engineering in the initial lauching phase, and on maintenance once the means of production were created. The country is now aware of the necessity of maintaining the means of production but this strategy is not only the result of taking into account basic economic efficiency criteria. It is also the result of contradictory policies of various economic actors, and is itself a contributing factor of a renewed dependency on foreing inputs. The results of these contradcitions is that algeria is now at a crossroads, and that future decisions will strongly determine the outcome of development policies

Full textThe study and realization of a linear tribometer under controlled atmosphere (LTCA) permits to conduce some tribological investigations on industrial alumina/steel couples. The carried out tests show homogeneous and stable friction forces with variable speed and acceleration with only a very little gap between static and dynamic friction coefficient. The integration of these material couples in rehabilitation devices offer a very huge mechanical simplification. So it's possible to produce new devices which propose a large diversity of movement especially adapted to the usual life actions rehabilitation

Full textAt different times and speeds, depending on the countries concerned, aluminium has transformed both the world of industry and our ways of life. In the early 20th century, the developing world was already divided between North America, where steel and concrete were beginning to shape cities linked by railroads, and Europe, where it was necessary to demolish before rebuilding, and the transformation therefore took longer. Aluminium and hydroelectricity emerged together, heralding a long period of growth that was accelerated by their complementarity. Technical progress in both domains had a snowball effect. The expansion lasted three-quarters of a century, until the rising household demand for electricity forced aluminium producers to look for new sources of energy, firstly in the United States. The developing countries followed the same path and provided continuity. China has been the leading aluminium producer in the world since 2003. Modernisation affected both domains at the same time, creating considerable needs for support. Economics and management sciences have developed theoretical and practical foundations in a network, amplifying the effectiveness of technical advances. The interest of this study lies in our revelation of the lasting interactions between economic theory and industrial production

Full textSince the 1980s, the approach to foreign direct investment (FDI) has changed. Multinational companies (MNCs) are viewed incrementally as the central actors of the globalization process. Extensive literature is emerging, which describes FDI as a significant component of a country’s industrial development strategy. The understanding of the mechanisms by which FDI intervene in industrial dynamics of an economy has shown that they are likely to generate benefits, in other words, spillovers. Studying the impact of FDI on industrial dynamics of a transition economy, such as the Czech Republic, thus becomes a relevant issue. The aim of our work is to understand the impact of FDI on transition economies through investigating total factor productivity (TFP) and spillovers (i.e. positive externalities). The underlying questions are: Do FDI cause a knock-on effect or crowding out of local investment? What is the impact of FDI on the productivity of the host country? Are spillovers observed in terms of technology transfer to local businesses? Herein we carefully investigated the impacts of FDI on the industrial structure of the Czech Republic through the analysis of TFP and spillovers. Although extensive theoretical and empirical literature exists; focusing exclusively on TFP and spillovers does not allow direct conclusion on the impact of FDY, since different other factors were not examined. Nevertheless, our results also enable to deliberate on the implications of incentive policies towards FDI and determinants encouraging MNCs to invest. Eventually, we evaluate how the Czech Republic may set public policies to make its companies more competitive against FMN

Full textOur work takes part in the integration of new functionalities on the elementary miniaturized devices built using silicon micro technologies and designed to enable sensor or actuator abilities. The well-known dielectric properties of the meso-porous silicon (SiP), which can be integrated in thick layers (up to 400 µm), make this material a good candidate to enhance the electric insulation of the device in the RF regime. Among the main results of this work, an original method to electrically characterize the SiP has been performed by a coupling between experimental measurements and numerical simulations with finite elements. By this way, the frequency variation of the electrical conductivity of the SiP has been highlighted and quantified in a range coming from 100 MHz to 1 GHz. Many ways to optimize micro-resonator devices have been thus demonstrated using the oxidation of SiP, its combination with a SiO2 layer, or a double-sided architecture. The realization of sensitive porous membranes allowed us to mechanically characterize the low stiffness of the SiP which has been evaluated for the first time with the direct method of the bulge-test. A Young's modulus of 5 GPa for a porosity of 73% has been measured, what is in good agreements with the analytical models previously developed by members of our team. The integration of inductive elements on composite membranes brings us to obtain two kinds of actuation of the membranes depending on the frequency range: Electro thermal actuation at few Hz and electromagnetic one around 10 kHz. The integration of porosified zones in such structures open important perspectives to enhance their capabilities in term of sensitivity and energetic budget
Carrincazeaux, Christophe. "L'organisation spatiale de la recherche industrielle : proximité et coordination des activités de R&D des firmes." Bordeaux 4, 1999. http://www.theses.fr/1999BOR40006.
Full textThe aim of the thesis is to analyse the role of geographic space in the co-ordination of r&d activities of firms. Chapter one lays down principles of economy of proximity. The spatial agglomeration of r&d activities is generally analysed using the concept of localised technological externalities that are formalised by the new economic geography. Evaluations proposed by the studies of localised knowledge spillovers are not entirely satisfactory (bring about contrasted conclusions). The main hypothesis is that we need to go back to the functions and organisation of r&d in order to take into account not only external effects but also the characteristics of co-ordination within the firm. The aim of the second chapter is to make the concept of proximity operational with regards to the co, ordination of agents. This is done by characterizing the sector-related dynamics of innovation. A general conceptual framework of the role of proximity in the co-ordination of research activities is proposed. The statistical analysis of a survey (carried out in france over 3750 plants having r&d activities) is done in order to elaborate a sector-related taxonomy of proximity relations in industrial research. In the third chapter, the hypothesis used are tested at two different levels (in two successive stages). Information from the survey is used to provide an evaluation of the link between the characteristics of co, ordination and proximity relations in r&d activities. This relation is then tested through an econometric study of the geographic distribution of industrial r&d in france. Results confirm the predominant role of co-ordination by geographical proximity in the spatial organisation of firms r&d in parallel with the extreme diversity of sector-related configurations

Full textThis thesis is dedicated to the optimization of RTM preforms junction reinforcement. The study deals with both finite element analysis (FEA) and experimentation. The basis for this research is a carbon/epoxy Tee-profile with a junction reinforced by the O3S® stitching process (one single side stitching), patented by EADS. The behaviour of such a Tee-beam was studied under elementary tensile and shear loadings. The problem was idealized macroscopically by the finite element method under linear and plane strain conditions, with isotropic or orthotropic behavior. An Interlaminar failure criterion was used in order to predict the first delamination in the structure. Mechanical tests were carried out to quantify the mechanical resistance of the RTM structures while FEA was used to optimize it. The study was organized in three steps : Characterization of the manufacturing process and tool developed specifically for this research project as well as the parameters influencing the strength of the assembly ; Comparative study of three different stacking sequences for the Tee preforms (or “draping”) and stitching pattern enhancement proposals. An optimal preform configuration and an improvement of the stitching pattern were identified ; Optimization of the identified concept by FEA and validation by mechanical experimentations. Compared to the state of art, this study lead to a significant improvement of the mechanical strength of preforms assembly for an equivalent production cost

Full textAcademic science is now considered a tool of economic progress. One consequence of this trend is that academic scientists face new demands and opportunities while conducting their research. Indeed, the creation of academic knowledge does not originate from the talents of isolated geniuses cut from distinct cloth, as it is often described. Rather, it is a complex process where the industry plays an increasing role in some technological fields and situations. An evolving balance between academic and industrial imperatives contributes to shape the academic agenda and research practices. How faculty members produce and diffuse scientific and technical knowledge, conditioned by this new environment, is the central question of this thesis. Accordingly, we constructed various indicators and used different methodological approaches to deal with this question. The aim of this study is to characterize the mechanisms that explain the emergence of new strategies by academics, as well as their evolution in time. We show that the norms and practices of the academic community are evolving in response to new incentives; nevertheless, the academic actors are not passive in the process, as they are actively designing new hybrid strategies. In order to illustrate these thoughts, we analyze the behaviors of faculty members at Tohoku University, which is at the forefront of the commercialization of academic science in Japan

Full textThe industrial strategies of the Compagnie générale d'électricité (C. G. E. ) are closely linked to the dynamics of the technical systems. Initially turned towards the supplying of electricity, the Pierre Azaria's group realized the integration of electrical equipment activities. The C. G. E. Used its financial power to obtain markets. Consequently, a new organisation of the management was established and the group got closer of the top of the State. The nationalisation of electric supply in 1946 was the main measure of the public intervention. The C. G. E. Benefit by the public orders but its capacities of initiative were reduced. In the mid-60's, through the impetus given by the C. N. E. T. , the renewal of the innovative capacities was based on the emerging technological system of the technologies of information. “National champion”, the C. G. E. Took the control of several firms in the fields of the electrical equipment and of the telecommunications equipment. The holding structure was the basis of Ambroise Roux's power and allowed the growth of the two sectors. Paradoxically, the short period of nationalisation (1982-1987) was symbolized by the political and strategic autonomy of the managers, especially for the negotiation of international mergers

Full textCorporate innovation asks some major questions about the technological opportunity concept’s measurement. The goal of this thesis is to theoretically analyse the criteria of this opportunity’s revelation and exploitation criteria (technological waves, S-curve, Gartner’s Hype Curve), then test this approach within the software industry. First, by the means of a case study on 3 French technological firms, we prove that each criterion has a limited reach. Also, we state the evidence of a relationship between R&D, technological cycles and financial markets, via an analysis of aggregated changes of R&D expenses (measuring the number of opportunities) and market capitalisation for a sample of 438 software companies from 17 countries between 1994 and 2005. Then we conclude, via a correlation analysis on 3 software vendors but also on our previous sample, that expensed R&D costs and stock price move in a parallel manner rather than with delayed effects

Full textAerosol dispenser is a pervasive technology in our everyday life (shaving foam, hairspray, insecticide, whipped cream ...), yet constantly criticized and in competition with multiple alternatives. Its very script comprises various risks. The thesis starts from this observation to ask a concise question : How have aerosol technology and the industry producing it managed to persist since the 1950s? To answer this question, the thesis develops a diachronic analysis of the development of the aerosol and its industry by mobilizing an adapted methodological instrumentation. The empirical work supposes that there is no single "industry" but several industries based on sites and temporalities. These industries are the outcome of works leading to the successive recompositions of industrial collectives. In order to follow the joint reconstructions of aerosol technology and its productive apparatus, the thesis does not follow a specific technical object but mobilizes the notion of technological principle enabling the analysis to articulate several critical moments in the development of aerosol technology. Thus, each critical moment constitutes a specific form of trial in which the industry adopts an adapted reflexive modality. In addition to a methodological contribution proposing to articulate several scholarly fields such as Science and Technology Studies, political science, the sociology of risk, the sociology of markets and industrial history, the main results of the thesis consist in characterizing problematic configurations, each of them highlighting the relations between a way of dealing with the risks associated with the aerosol technology, a way of taking into account specific criticisms, a mode of intervention of public authorities and various modalities of industrial reflexivity

Full textThe objective of this dissertation is to study the integrated functionning at the organizational level of a system built on the innovation of products, services and technologies. The major components of this system are the organizational renovation, the "process" and the "content" of strategies in marketing and finance. These elements interact and get synchronized in the market context. Part one of the dissertation outlines the common theoretical aspects characterizing the innovation and the strategic process of the organization. The analysis of the organizational "renovation" is undertaken. The new products creation and the interaction between organizational "competences" and "rigidities" are examined. The strategic alliances for innovation projects management and the problems of synergy between "competences" and resources in the interorganizational field are approached. Part two deals with the firm's integrated management in marketing and finance with respect to the environment. The problems of the innovation effectiveness as well as those of the "integrated marketing" are analysed. The problematic related to financial parameters is tackled in function of the technological dynamics and the needs for innovation projects financing. The "centralized management and or market mechanisms" dilemma is approached with the aim to rediscover the vision of innovation strategies useful for the firm in transition from total planning to market economy
