Abstract:
Many have studied the process of acceptance and adoption of new ideas and technologies as they are introduced into society. While several models have been used to assess various influencing factors, the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) is one that is most widely accepted. This model examines people’s acceptance of new technologies based on variables that directly correlate to how the end user views the product. This paper introduces the Policy Acceptance Model (PAM), an expansion of TAM, which is designed for the analysis and evaluation of acceptance of new policy implementation. PAM includes the traditional constructs of TAM and adds the variables of age and ethnicity. The model is experimentally assessed using a survey of people’s attitudes toward the upcoming health care reform from 72 survey respondents. The aim is that the theory behind this model can be used as a framework that will be applicable to studies looking at the introduction of any new or modified policies.

Abstract:
Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) is an important tool to understand the dynamics of acceptance of Information Systems in an organization. The model posits that perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness are key factors in the adoption. This study extends TAM for investigating the user rejection of technology by reversing the two key factors into perceived difficulty of use and perceived uselessness. The study was conducted by surveying the customers of an e-banking application in Turkey who disuse the system. The results reveal important hints for the organization that wants to get an insight into the causes of the system disuse.

Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to empirically study factors that facilitate the adoption of building information modelling (BIM) among practitioners using the unified theory of technology acceptance model (TAM). The factors identified in the TAM were examined using a quantitative approach. The empirical investigation has been conducted using a survey questionnaire. The data set has been obtained from 73 architects and engineers in Peru. Results show that Perceived Usefulness (PU) is the most important determinant of Behavioural Intention (BI), while Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU) is found to have no significant effect on BI. The findings provide an excellent backdrop in the development of policy and a roadmap for BIM implementation in Peru. The original contribution and value of the paper is the use of TAM to provide empirical evidence on factors that facilitate BIM adoption in Peru.

Abstract:
This paper considers the application of the technology acceptance model (TAM) in explaining intranet usage in two organizations. The TAM was originally developed for explaining technology acceptance and has since been successfully applied to a number of technologies. Its suitability for modelling intranet use is considered here. The model is tested in two UK companies from the banking and engineering sectors. Study 1 finds that the TAM may be valuable as a tool for helping with analysing and understanding intranet usage. The second study indicates that its applicability may be variable between intranets and demonstrates that self-report and actual measures of usage are not interchangeable when applying such a model. The findings have implications for previous and current research employing the TAM and for intranet research in general.

Abstract:
The technology acceptance model (TAM) has long-term implications for management studies. However, the evolution of the literature on technology acceptance ideas received very little attention in the bibliographic review. Few research reviews provided a systematic overview of the development and progress of the TAM literature based on the entire citation network, while many research reviews focused on re-examining the links between TAM components through meta-analysis. This study investigates: a) how TAM research has evolved and expanded over the last 30 years; b) the main areas in which the TAM model has been used; and c) key contributors to TAM research and their collaborations. This bibliometric analysis was carried out based on 8207 papers published in the Scopus database between 1990 and 2020 to assess the feasibility of the model and its applicability. The findings revealed that early TAM research was conducted both by Eastern and Western scholars and that it has since continued to evolve and be shared widely. Nonetheless, most TAM publications have focused on the same narrow domains of computer science, social science, business, management, and accounting and the trendiest topics were usefulness, trust, ease of use, e-learning, adoption, e-commerce, and social media.

Abstract:
Background: Technology acceptance model (TAM) has been extensively used to analyse user acceptance of technologies adopted by enterprises at different levels. Moreover, the technology adoption has drawn attention among practitioners and academic communities alike, leading to the development of approaches to understand the concept. However, there is a degree of inconsistency found in previous studies on different types of TAM models used in explaining user acceptance of technologies among small-medium enterprises (SMEs).Objective: This critical literature review aims to synthesise the technology adoption scholarly studies using TAM. It is expected to aid the identification of the most relevant factors influencing SMEs in adopting technology. Additionally, analysing the variations of TAM developed in previous studies could provide suggested variables specific to the type of technology industry. Methods: An integrated approach was used, and this involves a review of articles on the adoption of technologies in SMEs from 2011 to 2021, retrieved from popular databases using a mixture of keywords such as technology acceptance model (TAM), technology adoption, and technology adoption in SMEs.Results: An overview of TAM studies on user acceptance of technology in this review covers a wide range of research areas from financial technology to human resource management-related technology. Perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use were discovered to be the most common factors in TAM from the 21 articles reviewed. Meanwhile, some other variables were observed such as context, type of technology and level of user experience. Conclusion: The review highlights key trends in previous studies on IT adoption in SMEs, which assist researchers and developers in understanding the most relevant factors and suitable TAM models in determining user acceptance in a particular field. Abstract:
In the rapidly evolving technological landscape, many companies invest in developing solutions that often fail to gain user acceptance. Understanding the reasons behind these failures is crucial, thus various iterations of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) have been introduced namely: TAM, TAM 2, TAM 3, and TAM 4 IE. Applying these models has shed light on a significant portion of the factors influencing technology acceptance. Nevertheless, it suggests that numerous other factors remain unexplored and need further consideration. This research proposes the Technology Acceptance Model 5 (TAM 5) as an advanced version with additional dimensions and factors to further investigate, aiming to enhance technology acceptance. TAM 5 includes three primary dimensions: First, applying Hybrid Agile-Waterfall software development approach, merging the strengths of both methodologies, to enhance the development process and user satisfaction; Second, applying Hybrid Work Settings of Working from Home (WFH) and Working from Office (WFO), enhancing team collaboration and problem-solving, thereby facilitating technology acceptance; and finally, consideration of Cultural factors, Social customs and traditions, and Time zone differences (CST), all of which may influence technology acceptance. To assess the effectiveness of TAM 5, a questionnaire designed and validated by experts was administered to respondents in the software industry, including professionals from various roles and experience levels. The results were analyzed using multiple regression, and the weights indicate that applying the Hybrid Agile-Waterfall development approach and the Hybrid Work Settings had a significant positive impact on technology acceptance with β values of 0.333 and 0.344 respectively. Cultural factors and traditions had a significant negative influence on technology acceptance with β value of -0.848, while the impact of time zone differences was found to be insignificant with a negligible β value. In conclusion, TAM 5 reveals key dimensions that impact technology acceptance rates, providing valuable insights for businesses and researchers to better understand and address the challenges related to user acceptance of technology in contemporary society.

Abstract:
Technology acceptance model (TAM) is arguably the most widely used intention theory that explains the individual’s acceptance of a certain technology. Since Davis introduced TAM in 1986, it has been applied and validated in a variety of disciplines, including educational sciences. However, scholars note that depending on a specific context, the original TAM needs to be extended, which has been done by introducing external variables and other theories. Despite the existent TAM2 and TAM3, numerous scholars still opt for the original TAM, extending it with the variables and theories that are relevant to the specific context of their study. The aim of the present paper is to provide an overview of validated TAM extensions, which might later help to further the understanding of educational technology acceptance, which is a prerequisite of its adoption. Since interdisciplinarity in various contexts is becoming more and more common, the overview presents TAM extensions that come from a number of different disciplines. The overview is based on 108 papers that were retrieved from the Web of Science (Clarivate Analytics) by searching for the keywords ‘extended Technology Acceptance Model’, ‘extended TAM’, and ‘TAM extension’.

Abstract:
Successful implementation of Information Technology can be judged or predicted from the user acceptance. Technology acceptance model (TAM) is a model that is built to analyze and understand the factors that influence the acceptance of the use of technologies based on the users perspective. In other words, TAM offers a powerful explanation related to acceptance of the technology and its behavior. TAM model has been applied widely to evaluate various information systems (IS) or information technology (IT), but it is the lack of research related to the evaluation of the TAM model itself. This study aims to determine whether the model used TAM is still relevant today considering rapid development of information communication technology (ICT). In other words, this study would like to test whether the TAM measurement indicators are valid and can represent each dimension of the model. The method used is quantitative method with factor analysis approach. The results showed that all indicators valid and can represent each dimension of TAM, those are perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and behavioral intention to use. Thus the TAM model is still relevant used to measure the user acceptance of technology.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to examine the predictive power of the technology acceptance model (TAM) on customer’s intention to participate in the social customer relationship management (sCRM) program. Three additional constructs, perceived risk, user satisfaction, and perceived enjoyment were added to the original TAM. The collected data (n=264) were subject to statistical analysis of structural equation modeling, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. The study reveals that TAM by itself is not a robust model to predict customer’s intention to participate in the sCRM program. Among the original constructs of TAM, attitude is the only determinant of intention. The impact of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use was not significant on intention. Among the extended variables, perceived risk is the only variable that significantly influenced intention; perceived enjoyment and user satisfaction did not have any impact on intention. By applying the TAM to the sCRM, this study extends the overall body of the theoretical knowledge surrounding technology acceptance.

Purpose This paper aims to examine the determinants that influence bank users’ acceptance for Islamic financial technology (FinTech) services by extending the technology acceptance model (TAM) in the Malaysian context. Design/methodology/approach The survey was conducted using convenience sampling. Moreover, 205 responses were gathered from users of the Islamic bank. On the same note, the literature on determinants of Islamic FinTech acceptance and TAM was reviewed as well in a bid to contribute to the factors that are instrumental in determining the acceptance of FinTech services. Findings Findings of the study reveal that Islamic FinTech’s services acceptance is determined by perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and also by another variable, which is consumer innovativeness (CI). On the contrary other factors, self-efficacy and subjective norms are found not to be influential in determining Islamic FinTech’s acceptance by Islamic banking users. Originality/value TAM is extended in the context of Islamic FinTech. A new variable, namely, CI is tested using TAM. CI is yet to be tested, therefore, this paper will be a useful reference for the policymakers, academicians and future researchers.

Abstract:
Abstract During the pandemic, technology-mediated communication was one of the few ways to maintain social and community connections. We explored how the pandemic impacted older adults’ use and appraisal of technology. In a random sample of 407 older adults (M age = 81.1 years; range 65-105 years) almost half (n = 161) reported they changed how they used technology to virtually connect with others during the pandemic, and 78 of these reported that this was new technology for them. We adapted the technology acceptance model (TAM) for the pandemic, the COVID-TAM, and describe how physical distancing led to new acceptance of technology due to an increased perception of usefulness of technology for maintaining community and social connections. The 71 older adults who denied using technology were asked about the reasons underlying their reluctance to use technology to access social networks and community events during the pandemic. Thematic analysis revealed factors consistent with a double-digital divide; lack of physical exposure to technology creates an additional psychological barrier to adoption of new technology. Of the technology-reluctant subgroup of older adults, few reported lack of perceived usefulness of technology during the pandemic. Instead, most reported lack of self-efficacy or fear of technology underlying their lack of technology use for social and community connections during the pandemic, which we incorporate into the COVID-TAM. Findings indicate that technology training can help mitigate this fear and increase social and community connections that are technology-mediated in circumstances where physical distancing is necessary.

Abstract:
Background One common model utilized to understand clinical staff and patients' technology adoption is the technology acceptance model (TAM). Objective This article reviews published research on TAM use in health information systems development and implementation with regard to application areas and model extensions after its initial introduction. Method An electronic literature search supplemented by citation searching was conducted on February 2017 of the Web of Science, PubMed, and Scopus databases, yielding a total of 492 references. Upon eliminating duplicates and applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, 134 articles were retained. These articles were appraised and divided into three categories according to research topic: studies using the original TAM, studies using an extended TAM, and acceptance model comparisons including the TAM. Results The review identified three main information and communication technology (ICT) application areas for the TAM in health services: telemedicine, electronic health records, and mobile applications. The original TAM was found to have been extended to fit dynamic health service environments by integration of components from theoretical frameworks such as the theory of planned behavior and unified theory of acceptance and use of technology, as well as by adding variables in specific contextual settings. These variables frequently reflected the concepts subjective norm and self-efficacy, but also compatibility, experience, training, anxiety, habit, and facilitators were considered. Conclusion Telemedicine applications were between 1999 and 2017, the ICT application area most frequently studied using the TAM, implying that acceptance of this technology was a major challenge when exploiting ICT to develop health service organizations during this period. A majority of the reviewed articles reported extensions of the original TAM, suggesting that no optimal TAM version for use in health services has been established. Although the review results indicate a continuous progress, there are still areas that can be expanded and improved to increase the predictive performance of the TAM.

Abstract:
E-government is the use of internet platforms to deliver governmental services to citizens with the goal of improving government efficiency, transparency, and participation. This study aims to find out what factors determine the rate at which public university in Indonesians accept e-government services. This study uses the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). TAM is a traditional model of technology diffusion that is an essential conceptual criterion. It drives acceptance consisting of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. The results of this paper back up the original TAM hypothesis. Based on the data collected and analyzed, the study concludes that three influencing factors, namely perceived usefulness (PU), perceived ease of use (PEU), and perceived risk (PR), are significantly related to the intention to use e-commerce government. However, trust and social influence do not significantly affect the intention to use e-government services. This paper has significant implications for policymakers and government officials who want to see the growth of e-government usage in Indonesia. When attempting to market a new online system from the perspective of human-computer interaction, it becomes evident that designers must consider how users perceive the risks.

Abstract:
Applications for blockchain technology span various industries beyond cryptocurrency, which is a popular topic in recent times due to high-profile events. Blockchain technology has several inherent characteristics such as variety, security, trustworthiness and decentralization. Due to such characteristics beauty industry is also embracing blockchain technology to conduct safer transactions, boost consumer confidence and more. However not enough research has been done on consumer’s intention to accept blockchain technology in beauty industry. Adapting to latest technological developments is crucial in today’s competitive and volatile business environments. A way to measure intention to accept technology is technology acceptance model (TAM), originally proposed by Davis in 1989. This research utilizes TAM to study consumer’s acceptance intention of blockchain technology in beauty industry to provide empirical data for encouraging further academic research and developing business strategies for accelerated adoption of blockchain technology in beauty industry.

Abstract:
This research reviews studies using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to create a modified model and instrument to study the acceptance of Internet technology by consumers. We developed a modified TAM for the acceptance of Internet-based technologies by consumers. We retained the original constructs from the TAM and included additional constructs from previous literature including gender, experience, complexity, and voluntariness. We developed a survey instrument using existing scales from prior TAM instruments and modified them where appropriate. The instrument yielded respectable reliability and construct validity. The findings suggest that the modified TAM is a good predictor of consumer behavior in using the Internet. We found that attitude toward using the Internet acts as a strong predictor of behavioral intention to use, and actual usage of Internet technologies. Future researchers can use the resultant instrument to test how consumers adopt and accept Internet-based applications.

This study examines factors influencing the user acceptance of intranets in the restaurant industry. The study uses the application of the technology acceptance model (TAM) in explaining intranet usage in restaurant operations. The TAM is an exceptional model for which to predict system usage and has been successfully applied to numerous technologies. The original model was modified to include two independent variables: organization support and information quality. The survey collected data from restaurants in the United States. The results of the study showed that perceived usefulness was the main factor influencing intranet acceptance, while organization support, information quality, and perceived ease of use were not significant in the regression analysis. The findings indicate perceived usefulness of intranet use requires focus in order to improve communications in restaurant franchise systems.

Phet simulation is a computer-based practicum simulation medium that helps to increase students’ engagement and understanding through concept visualization. Even though there have been numerous studies on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) related to Phet simulation, the TAM study of Phet simulation combined with certain learning methods is rarely observed. We propose an advanced version of TAM by including the external variables of system quality, user characteristics, and instructor. This study is a quantitative design with a descriptive, explanatory type. This model was tested using an online questionnaire disseminated to 49 students that finished taking basic natural sciences subjects using Phet simulation based on problem-based learning. The result showed that system quality has an effect on perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use has an effect on behavioral intention of use, behavioral intention of use has an effect on actual usage, and there is no relationship between instructor quality on perceived usefulness. Grit on perceived ease of use, learner anxiety, and perceived usefulness on the behavioral intention of use. These findings have implications regarding user acceptance of Phet simulation combined with certain learning methods, specifically problem-based learning.

The article tellsabout model of technology acceptance. A system used by the end user necessary to test whether the system effectively and efficiently can be applied by user. Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) adopted the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA) that is widely used to predict the acceptance and usefulness of the system information. TAM usesa comparison between the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA) and the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). TAM is designed to predict the acceptance or use of information systems by usersand profit for a job. An acceptance of the theory of information systems began to be implemented in Indonesia from 2004 until today, which adopts the model proposed Davis et al in 1989. The theory was apparently accepted by the public to assess the acceptance of a system by the user based on its core construct perceived Ease of Use (PEOU) and perceived usefulness (PU). In Indonesia some researchers are implementing TAM 1989 at different locations, in various sectors as well as the time and different situations by using several different methods of analysis in each study. A significant result of variables in TAM lead this theory can be applied further in other information systems in Indonesia in addition to that already done the research for TAM is very easyto apply and be accepted by the public in a variety of sectors, namely in the public sector, business or private. Abstract:
This research studies the effects of the religiosity on financial technology (fintech) adoption. The study examines religiosity as part of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) dimensions for the adoption of mobile payment technology. We explore the role of religiosity in TAM and recommend several policies for related organizations. The study uses professional sample calculation from 113 traditional markets under Perumda Pasar Jaya as a business entity whose capital is wholly or mostly owned by the regional government through regional assets of DKI Jakarta Province, Indonesia, which use mobile payment technology. We obtained 363 respondents from June 2020 to June 2021, coinciding with the Covid-19 pandemic. Hypothesis testing was done employing SmartPLS 3.2.9 software and questionnaires. The study also adapts previous studies to ensure the questionnaires are relevant to the research objects. The research result show that religiosity explained the formation of TAM by small businesses in traditional markets under Perumda Pasar Jaya Management. Religiosity and the adoption of mobile payment technology determined whether a user used fintech or not. As the research period was limited to June 2020 - June 2021, including field research in the traditional markets, newer TAM mobile payment technology development and other TAM mobile payment-based research were not included. This research offers a new TAM development model using religiosity for mobile payment adoption in traditional markets.

Abstract:
Abstract Consumer behaviour analysis is a key aspect for the success of e-business. The main objective of the study is to analyse the impact of selected user experience factors on e-commerce web site visiting (technology). The objective of the study is to create a model that will explain the impact of each major factor on the user experience and the re-visit of the e-shop. To explain the use of e-commerce technology, in the second part we have modified the original technology acceptance model (TAM) with other constructs. Specifically, there are modern technologies such as social networks or mobile apps that affect the use of e-shops. The TAM model is one of the most used models of what the system uses to identify the perceived usefulness and perceived simplicity of use from the user’ side. For the main advantage of our study, we consider that we have highlighted the importance of the factor of modern technology and therefore of social networks, mobile applications and contextual advertising. This factor, along with the other two factors, has been incorporated into our model and has shown that modern technologies have a direct impact and are therefore directly related to the frequency using the e-commerce websites.

Abstract:
The mixed results of information technology (IT) investment have made the investigation of user acceptance of IT increasingly challenging. A growing body of research in user acceptance of IT literature has limited focus on individual professionals as target users. Therefore, this research investigates how external variables, namely individual differences and system characteristics influence lecturers as individual professionals to accept the internet technology. Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) are used as the main reference in this research. Findings of this research indicate that individual differences (computer self-efficacy, knowledge of search domain) and system characteristics (terminology, screen design, relevance) have indirect impact through perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and attitude on lecturers’ intention to use the internet. Specifically, computer self-efficacy and screen design have direct and indirect impact on intention. One issue concerning with the explanatory power of the proposed research model, which is based on TAM and TPB, compared to the rival model, which is called extended TAM, is also analyzed.

Abstract:
Abstract Background and Purpose - IBM SPSS Statistics is among the most widely used programs for statistical analysis in social sciences. Due to many practical values it is frequently used as a tool for teaching statistical concepts in many social science university programs. In our opinion, motivation to learn and to use SPSS during the studying process plays a significant role in building a positive attitude towards SPSS which influences its usage at the professional level after finishing study. Design/Methodology/Approach - The aim of this paper is the development of the model for analysing the acceptance of the SPSS among university students of social sciences. The model is based on the widely known Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). In addition to the traditional components of the TAM, six external variables were included. The model is tested using the web survey on the university students of social sciences from seven faculties at three Slovenian universities. Results - The evaluation of the questionnaire was performed. Descriptive statistics were calculated. The dependencies among the model components were studied and the significant dependencies were pointed out. Conclusion - The results of the empirical study prove that all external variables considered in the model are relevant, and directly influence both key components of the traditional TAM, ≫Perceived Usefulness≪ and ≫Perceived Ease of Use≪. Therefore, our model is useful to study the adoption and continuous utilization of SPSS among the students of social sciences. The obtained results are useful for educators, and can help them to improve the learning process.
