Abstract:
At present, there is a growing focus on the landscape and environment of ocean cities, with an increasing demand for improved ecological sustainability and aesthetic appeal. With the emergence of computer vision design technologies such as 3D and VR, people have overcome the limitations of traditional paper-based design materials. Through the use of computer software, various forms of expression, such as drawings and animations, can be produced, thereby meeting the diverse demands for showcasing plant landscapes. The purpose of this paper is to study the design of marine urban (MU) botanical landscapes based on computer vision technology (CVT) and multimodal interaction design (MID) theory, so that the design of MU botanical landscape can meet people’s psychological behavior and visual needs, and at the same time enable people to participate in and experience the landscape, so as to better meet people’s needs for viewing, leisure, and entertainment. At the same time, it is hoped that the research of this paper will play a role in promoting the innovation and development of the concept of MU landscape design (LD) in the future, specifically from two levels of theoretical and practical significance. First, at the level of theoretical research: Based on the theory of MID, this paper explores the application of communication and interaction among humans and between humans and the landscape in the design of MU planting, and tries to explore and summarize the content and methods of interactive LD in marine cities with a theoretical basis and research value. The goal is to both enhance the theoretical level of interactive LD, and also provide new reference for future marine city (MC) LD. Second, at the level of practical application: In the field of LD, the new concept of computer vision is introduced to fully understand the visual needs of people and increase the practicality and pleasantness of the MU landscape, hoping to attract more people to come to play and rest. Through the attraction of MU landscapes to tourists, the design and construction of the landscape no longer focus on its appearance, but rather on the participation and experience of people.

Abstract:
Energy supply through photovoltaic technology represents one of the most widely applied solutions in achieving energy transition goals. However, its expansion in rural contexts raises concerns due to the unique characteristics of the natural environment and the intrinsic landscape qualities of these areas. This systematic literature review examines the relationship between photovoltaic technology and the agricultural landscape, categorizing the selected studies into the following three macro-groups: the integration of photovoltaics in protected buildings and landscapes, the electrification of remote agricultural areas, and agrivoltaics as a compromise between production needs and landscape compatibility. Despite the extensive literature on the energy transition, systematic analyses of the landscape impacts of rural photovoltaics remain limited. This review addresses this gap by focusing on three key application areas marked by the tension between innovation and conservation. Through a systematic analysis conducted following the PRISMA guidelines, selecting 89 scientific publications from over 1200 evaluated sources, this review highlights the growing scientific interest in the topic and the heterogeneity of related research areas. The multidisciplinary nature of the discussion underscores the need to develop additional solutions that are more compatible with the environmental values of agricultural heritage, facilitating a more integrated and sustainable deployment of photovoltaics in high-value rural landscapes.

Abstract:
As an important aspect of urban development, urban waterfront landscapes not only serve as significant reflections of the urban image, but are also key factors in attracting tourists and stimulating the development of the tourism industry. As the exclusive cultural resources of the city, regional culture plays an important role in the design of urban coastal landscapes. This article examines the integration of regional culture and the design of urban embankment landscapes and presents several aspects that require careful attention in the design process. Specifically, designers should study local regional cultural elements in detail and introduce them into the urban waterfront landscape so that people can appreciate the uniqueness and significance of local culture. In addition, in the design, it is necessary to carefully consider the scale, amenities and related services of the city in order to create a comfortable, unique and multicultural urban waterfront landscape. This article also offers recommendations for overcoming limitations and future research, as well as discusses market prospects and the commercial value of this design and operational model of urban embankment landscapes, primarily satisfying the spiritual and cultural needs of people. In this paper, proposals and measures are proposed to integrate regional culture into the landscape design of urban embankments in order to create more distinctive, comfortable and pleasant to perceive landscapes of urban embankments. Thanks to the rational use of local culture in combination with the needs of tourists and local residents, it is possible to satisfy various cultural features and needs by creating a landscape design of the city embankment, rich in diverse cultural impressions. In the future, such landscape design and the mode of operation of city embankments, aimed mainly at meeting the spiritual and cultural needs of people, has great prospects for development.

Abstract:
Greenery are the parks in the urban areas and it becomes progressively most significant as cities grow more crowded. In the end, urban parks contribute to the population’s healthiness and welfare by providing opportunities intended for physical and social activity, leisure, and relaxation. In order to construct “Digital Land,” computer and system software and hardware were used. Computer simulations are used to examine the value of a city garden’s landscape design. Digital models and multimedia performances are being built using computer-aided design (CAD), this underlines the need for digitizing data for landscape design. A region’s landscapes can only be accurately assessed if sufficient information is available on the elements that influence the people’s awareness of landscape quality, as well as the kind, method, and effective rate of each of them. We use an LVQANN (artificial neural network) to forecast the landscape aesthetic assessment of urban parks and priorities the model’s significant factors in this research. User viewpoint and artificial neural network modelling were utilized in conjunction to assess the aesthetic quality of the urban park’s environment. This was done for two reasons. The design of urban parks decision support system is known as MATLAB software’s multilayer perceptions model, which gives the ability to anticipate landscape visual significance in innovative parks. In this study, the ANN LVQ model is used to execute an ageing design of an urban park landscape based on a computer virtual simulation application. An example land is selected as input and area linked to sunny spot, top view, and so on is fixed. The ANN tool box is used to develop this application in MATLAB 2018b software. The following approach is used to create the ideal urban park landscape model. An accuracy of 89.23 percent, a sensitivity of 87.34 percent, and a recall of 78.93 percent were achieved, outperforming the approach and competing with the current model.

Abstract:
With the recent shift in public aesthetics, tourism agriculture, which combines tourism with modern agriculture, has become a new and popular form of tourism, exhibiting great potential. Internationally, tourism is known as a sunrise industry that will never decline because the benefits and impact introduced by tourism are not only limited to the industry itself but also the development of other fields. It stimulates the labor force by creating job vacancies, consumption, economic benefits, and opportunities for the surrounding areas. Therefore, paying attention to the development of tourism and focusing on the trending frontier issues of the industry are of practical value to the development of social economy and culture. Traditional forms of tourism develop economic value by focusing on people’s direct experiences at specific times and places. However, this approach is somewhat limited by time and space constraints, preventing the full exploitation of the economic and cultural value of tourism landscapes. In contrast, modern rural tourism models based on virtual environment modeling and virtual reality technology can address this issue, enhancing the development of rural tourism industries. Virtual environment modeling designs specific spatial environments and simulates internal elements, providing authenticity to environments and a sense of reality using textures. Virtual reality technology goes further in creating highly realistic virtual environments that are generated by computers, encompassing visual, auditory, linguistic, force, tactile, motion, and olfactory elements, and enabling natural interactions between various sensory devices of the operator and the landscape model. The combination of these two approaches offers a broader scope and more nuanced physical and mental experiences for the rural tourism industry. This paper explores the optimization role of virtual environment and environmental landscape modeling based on virtual reality technology in designing rural tourism landscapes. It examines the specific elements of optimization within this type of technology and, using algorithms, demonstrates that these methods provide a 15.73% optimization rate in the sightseeing process compared to traditional tourism models, making them widely applicable in the design of rural tourism landscape environments.

Abstract:
Virtual reality (VR) is transforming the landscape design and planning industry by offering immersive and interactive tools for visualization and decision-making. With VR technology, designers and planners can create realistic 3D environments that allow stakeholders to experience proposed designs in a virtual space before implementation. This enables them to explore different design options, evaluate spatial relationships, and assess the impact of various elements such as vegetation, topography, and infrastructure. VR also facilitates collaboration among project stakeholders by providing a shared platform for communication and feedback. By immersing themselves in virtual landscapes, clients, designers, and stakeholders can better understand design concepts and make informed decisions, leading to more efficient and successful projects. This paper introduces a novel approach to simulating and optimizing landscape planning and design using virtual reality (VR) technology, enhanced by Whale Swarm Optimization Classification (WSOC). The proposed framework aims to leverage the immersive and interactive capabilities of VR to facilitate more effective landscape planning and design processes. Through simulated experiments and empirical validations, the efficacy of the WSOC-enhanced VR-based approach is evaluated. Results demonstrate significant improvements in optimization efficiency and landscape design quality compared to traditional methods. For example, the WSOC model achieved a 40% reduction in design iteration time and a 25% increase in landscape sustainability metrics. Additionally, the framework enabled stakeholders to visualize and interact with proposed designs in real-time, leading to more informed decision-making and consensus-building. These findings highlight the potential of VR technology with WSOC in revolutionizing landscape planning and design, fostering sustainable and aesthetically pleasing outdoor environments.

Rapidly changing landscapes and disturbance regimes in the Global South impact the viability of conservation planning. Although conservation planning processes benefit from reliable multi-scale and multi-temporal data on landscape changes, this is not widely understood. In this paper, the authors examine landscape change dynamics and disturbance regimes in the Global South and discuss the methodological needs of characterizing pattern-process relationships of landscape disturbance to facilitate effective conservation planning. For example, geospatial analysis of Nairobi-Namanga Road, in the Kaputei Plains of Kenya, was used to highlight impacts of road infrastructure on wooded grassland and open grasslands, on wildlife migration corridors and livelihoods. The authors discuss how integration of geospatial technologies and landscape ecology metrics could enhance conservation planning and decision-making in the Global South. The benefits of coupling the decision-making process with stakeholder engagements and nature-based solutions to ensure viable conservation of biodiversity were also discussed.

More precisely, it’s usually used to explore the representation of cultural heritage and the diversity of heritage information. In this study, we comprehensively reviewed these deep learning-related literatures for the evaluation of traditional village landscapes. E.g., the landscape image recognition led by the pixel-level semantic segmentation algorithm and image feature extraction technology enable user-centred exploration and make cultural heritage digitally and visually accessible. By suggesting a analytic framework using the pixel-level semantic segmentation algorithm and extracting image features, we attempted to identify the physical attributes and spatial characteristics of traditional village landscapes and further simulate the value perception thinking of experts and the public. Current research on river landscape is mainly based on remote sensing images or on-land approaches, while studies of on-water perspective landscapes at different river scales is lacking. In this paper, with Guilin city rivers taken as an example, we adopt image semantic segmentation technology to evaluate the visual landscape characteristics under different river scales, and subsequently employ automatic linear modeling to screen important factors affecting aesthetic quality. The results reveal the obvious differences between the on-water landscape characteristics of different scale rivers. The on-water landscape quality of large- and small-scale rivers is mainly affected by seven and four factors, respectively. The Karst landform of Guilin is observed to significantly improve the on-water landscape quality of large-scale rivers. By considering the impact mechanism of landscape composition on the aesthetic quality and the different scale rivers, we propose several aesthetic quality improvement strategies based on low-cost methods, including the planting of vegetation and the micro renewal of artificial constructions. This study contributes to the intelligent evaluation of urban on-water landscape and provides reference for on-water route selection and urban planning.

Abstract:
The rapid urbanization and the increasing need for sustainable development have led to the emergence of green roof landscapes in ocean cities. These rooftop gardens provide numerous environmental benefits and contribute to the overall well-being of urban dwellers. However, optimizing the design and interaction experience of green roof landscapes requires the integration of intelligent technologies. This paper explores the application of computer visual design techniques, specifically 3DMAX modeling and virtual reality, in the intelligent interaction design of green roof landscape plants in ocean cities. Designers can use computer visual design (3DMAX) and other technologies to interact intelligently with the roof landscape in order to improve landscape design. Through case studies, this indicated that computer vision is excellent for image processing of rooftop landscapes and also demonstrates a high degree of compatibility between computer vision and green rooftop landscape plant design in marine cities. This paper highlights the significance of intelligent interaction design and computer visual design techniques in optimizing the integration of green roof landscape plants in ocean cities. It emphasizes the potential of 3DMAX modeling and VR technology in creating immersive and engaging experiences for designers, users, and stakeholders alike. The findings contribute to the growing body of knowledge in the field of sustainable urban development and provide insights for designers, policymakers, and researchers seeking to enhance green roof landscapes in ocean cities. The dissertation highlights the potential of using computer vision design techniques to enhance the roof garden landscaping process and advocates for more efficient and effective ways to design, visualize, and improve rooftop gardens by utilizing software equipped with computer vision technology such as 3DMAX, ultimately contributing to the advancement of sustainable urban landscapes.

Abstract:
Campus temporary landscapes have great potential to promote sustainability, student well-being, and campus engagement. The article presents a field survey, questionnaire design, and SPSS software analysis of the temporary Asian Games landscape at the Zhejiang University of Technology. An attempt was made to investigate the environmental perception impacts of the Asian Games' temporary campus landscape on university students and whether these impacts differed by individual differences (e.g., gender or academic major). Quantitative and qualitative analyses were used to explain college students' specific perceptions of the temporary Asian Games landscape. The analysis results show: 1) individual variables of college students had significant effects on the differences in environmental perceptions of the Asian Games temporary campus landscape, and gender and academic major factors had direct effects on them; 2) college students had different perceptual outcomes for different types of Asian Games temporary campus landscapes, and they preferred figurative temporary landscapes, followed by abstract and information transfer landscapes, and finally signage landscapes; 3) Asian Games There is a close connection between different features of the temporary campus landscape and college students' environmental perceptions, and aesthetic features become the key features affecting college students' environmental perceptions. The study reveals the mechanism of the temporary campus landscape of the Asian Games affecting the environmental perception of college students, and based on the results of the study, relevant planning suggestions are proposed, which have certain implications for improving the design of the temporary campus landscape space.

Abstract:
Organic waste management is a major global challenge. It accounts for a significant portion of waste that ends up in landfills, where it gradually decomposes and emits methane, a harmful greenhouse gas. Composting is an effective method for potentially solving the problem by converting organic waste into valuable compost. Despite many studies focusing on the composting process, no study has reviewed the technological advancements in the composting fields from the perspective of patents. This review paper begins with background information on the composting process, specifically important factors affecting the process, problems associated with it, and the available technologies to facilitate the process. Different technologies are discussed, ranging from manual to automated methods. Subsequently, 457 patents are selected, classified into different categories, and reviewed in detail, providing a patent technology landscape of composting technology. Automatic composters are more prominent than manual ones as managing organic waste at the source has become more crucial in recent years. The need for a domestic composter creates an opportunity for the development of a compact and automated system for organic waste management, which is more suitable for urbanized settings. This technology has the potential to reduce the amount of organic waste that needs to be managed at an already overburdened landfill, as well as the environmental consequences associated with it.
