<p>Future wireless communication systems will utilize the spatial properties of the wireless channel to improve the spectral efficiency and thus increase capacity. This is realized by deploying multiple antennas at both the transmitter and receiver. Utilizing the spatial properties of the channel demands channel models that properly reflect these characteristics. Due to the unpredictable nature of the wireless channel, a common approach is to model its effects in a statistical fashion. A few large world wide cooperations, like the 3GPP or WINNER projects, have developed channel models intended

Abstract:
Over the past few years, there has been a growing need for wireless communications with higher data rates and ubiquitous coverage, and these must be achieved at reduced cost and with a lower carbon footprint. This evolution in wireless demand places a big burden on transmitter architectures. The need for higher efficiency has stimulated research into the potential replacement of current linear power amplifiers (PAs) by switch mode power amplifiers (SMPAs) at cellular frequencies. The radio frequency (RF) PA currently accounts for a significant part of the cost, and most of the power requirem

Abstract:
In recent years, the number of electric vehicles (EVs) has been increasing. It will play more and more important role in the power grid operation because of its storage features, where charging and discharging control strategies and construction of the charging facilities are the priorities to be solved in this field. At the same time, the availability of the charging infrastructures is still limited and provides a promising application area for communication and control research. This thesis focuses on the control of the energy status offered by the buildings/houses providing a power m
