Abstract:
Abstract This essay explores the death of Odysseus in the Telegony and the Odyssey through the diction of agnoēsis (nonrecognition) and anagnōrisis (recognition). Agnoēsis is a motif in the stories of both Telegonus and the death of Odysseus, allowing the Odyssey’s presentation of agnoēsis to reference the Telegony tradition. Moreover, the deadly consequences of agnoēsis are inimical to the Odyssey’s vision of Odysseus’s kleos, and Odysseus’s death in the Telegony results in an alternative vision of his immortality. Examination of these contrasts between traditions sheds light on how the Odyssey negotiated dissonant elements from the Telegony tradition to enhance its own meaning.

Abstract:
Abstract The topic is the burial of the corpse of Odysseus at Aeaea in the Telegony. I argue that in the Cyclic epic the corpse is buried at an Aeaea localized in Italy. The prophecy of Tiresias in Odyssey 11 may allude to some version of the Telegonus story, but the Homeric epic largely discounts such epichoric legends about Odysseus. Correspondences and differences between the Odyssey and the Telegony result from independent self-positioning within traditional Odyssean myth.

Abstract:
During the nineteenth century the phenomenon of heredity was of great interest to artists as well as biologists, but its actual dynamics remained mysterious to both. Some felt that the inheritance of characteristics was to be explained on physiological grounds, some on psychic, and some on a combination of the two. A writer inclined toward scientific materialism like Zola naturally emphasized the physical interpretation of this phenomenon, but Ibsen and Strindberg found the possibility of heredity through psychic means, called telegony by August Weismann, more useful for their aesthetic concerns. Their plays show many varieties of this phenomenon, using telegony in ways related both to contemporary scientific speculation and to a long literary tradition, in which a key work was Goethe's Die Wahlverwandtschaften.

Abstract:
The huge differences characterizing the main editions of the Greek epic poets of the Archaic period are well known. The sparse amount of information available poses serious problems; so too does the lack of unanimous acceptance of the same methodological principles with respect to the attribution of a citation to a given author and poem. The case of the Telegony is typical: Bernabé lists five fragments, Davies two (only one in common with Bernabé), and West six (four in common with Bernabé, one in common with Davies, and one published by Livrea ten years after the appearance of the editions of Bernabé and Davies). To alert the reader that the attribution of fragments 1 and 2 to the Telegony is conjectural and not based on ancient evidence, West attaches an asterisk to them. My aim is to discuss both what certain scholars have taken as one (and, for exactly 110 years, the only) of the two surviving lines from Eugammon's Telegony, that is fr. 1 (PEG 1, Bernabé = *1 West) = fr. 2 (Allen), and also what appears as fr. *2 in West's Loeb edition.

Abstract Several poems of the Epic Cycle (especially the Little Iliad and the Nostoi) have a strong interest in the figure of the epigone, as does the Odyssey. Reconstruction of these cyclic epics suggests the operation of narrative conventions that are found to be pointedly inverted in the Homeric poem and thoroughly perverted in the cyclic Telegony.

Abstract:
One of the keys of Zola’s literary success relies on the integration of scientific developments from the 19th century into the narrative texts in such a natural way that only someone with a deep knowledge of both criticism and literature would be able to. This stylistic perfection is the result of a trial and error process that culminates in Les Rougon Macquart but in which Madeleine Férat and its approach to telegony play an outstanding but unknown role. This reproductive theory is at the same time an excuse to undergo a deep analysis of the bourgeoisie but also the beginning of the productive rela-tionship between science and literature, a major feature in Naturalism.

Abstract:
Comparing specimens curated in MfN as primary types of Hesperiidae names proposed by Carl Plötz with the original descriptions and unpublished drawings reveals a number of inconsistencies that we address. Lectotypes are designated for Telegonus labriaris Butler, 1877, Eudamus jalapus Plötz, 1881, and Apaustus interpunctata Plötz, 1884. Neotypes are designated for Netrocoryne seneca Plötz, 1882 and Hesperia irma Plötz, 1882. Hesperia ulphila Plötz, 1883 is treated as a nomen dubium. As a result of these designations, the following are junior objective synonyms: Netrocoryne seneca Plötz, 1882 of Telegonus labriaris Butler, 1877 and Hesperia irma Plötz, 1882 of Pamphila irma Möschler, 1879, the latter two names being homonyms. In all these instances, the original descriptions are satisfied, and, except for A. interpunctata, the current application of these names is unaffected. Taxonomically, Callimormus diaeses Schaus, 1902, stat. rest. is a valid species, not a synonym of A. interpunctata, which is a junior subjective synonym of Eutocus vetulus (Mabille, 1883).

SIEWERT, RICARDO RUSSO, OLAF HERMANN HENDRIK MIELKE, and MIRNA MARTINS CASAGRANDE. "Taxonomic revision of the Neotropical genus Telemiades Hübner, [1819 (Lepidoptera: Hesperiidae: Eudaminae), with descriptions of fourteen new species." Zootaxa 4721, no. 1 (January 9, 2020): 1–111. http://dx.doi.org/10.11646/zootaxa.4721.1.1.

Abstract:
Telemiades Hübner, [1819] is currently comprised of 22 species and 14 subspecies distributed exclusively in the neotropics. The genus is defined by the morphological pattern of the uncus, apiculus, labial palpi and venation. However, some species have a uniform pattern of coloration making it difficult to establish their correct identity in some cases. The aims of the present study were to present a taxonomic revision of Telemiades Hübner, [1819] in order to provide a stable taxonomic hypothesis for the group, to describe the new species and to present diagnoses to help in species identification. According to the present study, Telemiades is now composed of 41 species. Fourteen new species are recognized and described. Three subspecies are here treated as valid species: T. marpesus (Hewitson, 1876) stat. rest., T. misitheus Mabille, 1888 stat. rest. and T. pekahia (Hewitson, 1868) stat. rest. Two synonyms are treated as valid species: T. insulsus (Draudt, 1922), stat. rev. and T. xantho Hayward, 1939 stat. rev. Five new synonyms are proposed: Plesioneura lamus Mabille, 1888 syn. nov. and Telemiades antiope tosca Evans, 1953 syn. nov. of T. antiope (Plötz, 1882), Echelatus punctatus Mabille & Boullet, 1917 syn. nov. of T. epicalus Hübner, [1819], Proteides nicola Plötz, 1882 syn. nov. of T. laogonus (Hewitson, 1876) and Eudamus phlius Plötz, 1881 syn. nov. of T. nicomedes (Möschler, 1879). To provide stability for existing names, six neotypes were designated for: Proteides amphion Geyer, 1832, Plesioneura compressa Möschler, 1877, Papilio avitus Stoll, 1781, Telegonus mygdon Möschler, 1877, Proteides aesopus Plötz, 1882 and Papilio corbulo Stoll, 1781; and 19 lectotypes for: Aethilla buffumi Weeks, 1906, Eudamus marpesus Hewitson, 1876, Telemiades misitheus Mabille, 1888, Pterygospidea pekahia Hewitson, 1868, Telemiades lurideolus Mabille, 1877, Eudamus laogonus Hewitson, 1876, Eudamus penidas Hewitson, 1867, Telemiades ceramina Herrich–Schäffer, 1869, Telemiades megalloides Schaus, 1902, Pythonides hoyti Weeks, 1906, Eudamus praestes Hewitson, 1876, Telemiades epicalus Hübner, [1819], Eudamus phasias Hewitson, 1867, Telemiades arcturus Herrich–Schäffer, 1869, Echelatus punctatus Mabille & Boullet, 1917, Eudamus centrites Hewitson, 1870, Telegonus gallius Mabille, 1888, Telegonus nicomedes Möschler, 1879, and Arteurotia meris Plötz, 1886.

Abstract:
In classical antiquity Propertius' eloquence was renowned. His successor Ovid referred to theblandi praecepta Properti(Trist.2.465) and toblandi…Propertius oris(ibid. 5.1.15). Quintilian (10.1.93) stated that to his taste the mosttersusandelegansLatin elegist was Tibullus, butsunt qui Propertium malint. Martial (14.189) mentioned thefacundi carmen iuuenale Properti.Turn now from the opinions of ancient authors to those of some modern commentators as they try to elucidate various passages as presented in the extant manuscripts, and you encounter not the adjectivesblandus, tersus, elegans, andfacundus, but ‘strange’, ‘obscure’, ‘odd’, ‘slovenly’, and the like.A major reason for such striking differences of opinion should be evident. Ovid, to whom Propertius wasblandi oris, read a text separated from Propertius' autograph by at most a few decades. Modern scholars, however, must form their text from a few relatively late manuscripts, none earlier thanc.1200, in which Propertius' eloquence has been obscured by over twelve centuries of careless blundering and deliberate interpolation by a succession of scribes.A generally accepted example of deliberate interpolation in the Propertian archetype is found at 2.32.3-6:nam quid Praenesti dubias, o Cynthia, sortes, quid petis Aeaei moenia Telegoni?cur tua te Herculeum deportant esseda Tibur?Appia cur totiens te uia †ducit anum†?(ducitFLP,dicitN), where the name of some neighbouring town is required in the fourth verse to balance Praeneste, Tusculum, and Herculeum in the preceding three.

Abstract:
The materials of Molyukhiv Buhor, obtained during excavations in 1955—1956 by V. M. Danylenko, were constantly used by D. Y. Telegin in his scientific works particularly in the monograph «Dnipro-Donetsk Culture. To the History of the Population of the Neolithic Epoch — Early Metal of the South of Eastern Europe» 1968; in the monograph «Seredni Stoh Culture of the Copper Age» in 1973; in the article «Cultural identity and dating of supine Eneolithic burials of the Steppe Dnieper» 1987; in the book «Neolithic Burial Grounds of the Mariupol Type» 1991; in the publication «Settlements of the Dnieper-Donetsk Ethnocultural Community of the Neolithic Era» 1998 (co-authored by O. M. Titova); in the book «Seredni Stoh and Novodanilivka cultures of the Eneolithic of the Azov-Pontic region: an archaeological-anthropological analysis of materials and catalog of sites» 2001 (co-authors A. L. Nechitaylo, I. D. Potekhina, Y. V. Panchenko). The conclusions of the scholar according to the first two monographs became the basis for the recognition of Molyukhiv Buhor as one of the outstanding sites of Ukraine in the Neo-Eneolithic Age. Since 1992 the archeological study of Molyukhiv Buhor has been carried out by the author who has discovered on the settlement the system of «moats» and «pillars», the remains of Neolithic dwellings, residential-economic complex of the late Neolithic age, the ancient burial ground with 6 different graveyards, 44 economic pits of different historical periods, etc. A diverse collection of archaeological materials, the total number of which is more than 103700 finds, is the ceramic complex, flint tools, stone tools, horn and bone products, copper products, and allows to describe fully and comprehensively the material culture of the inhabitants in the Neolithic and Eneolithic periods. Thus, new research allows us to clarify, supplement and expand our understanding of the material culture of the tribes of Dnieper-Donetsk and Seredni Stoh cultures, compare them with the research of D. Ya. Telegin 1960—1970 and note that many conclusions of the scholar of 50 years ago find their confirmation in new studies of Molyukhіv Buhor. Archaeological studies of the settlement are being continued. In recent years, they have focused on the excavation of a large residential and commercial complex in the north of the settlement.

Abstract:
The long neglected scorpion species Orobothriurus bivittatus (Thorell) stat. n., comb. n. (Bothriuridae), formerly considered a subspecies of Urophonius brachycentrus (Thorell) and more recently placed under synonymy of the type species of Orobothriurus Maury, O. alticola (Pocock), is revalidated and redescribed on a male captured in the Sierra del Tontal, west Argentina. It proved to be a close relative of O. alticola, from which it can be separated by some details of the hemispermatophore morphology (e.g. relative length of the lamina apex, lobular expansions at the inflexion point of the front crest). This species is probably a high altitude endemic to the Precordillera, a range separated from the Andes (where O. alticola was collected) by a narrow valley. The type locality for O. bivittatus stat. n., comb. n. (and also for Telegonus weijenberghi Thorell) is restricted to the upper belts of the mentioned range, as thoroughly discussed. To ensure nomenclatural stability, it is proposed to set aside the existing holotype and to designate the studied male as neotype.

Abstract:
Spermatogenesis and sperm maturation in Nematospiroides dubius were studied using electron microscopy. The testis is telegonic and germ cells in the zones of mitosis, growth and meiosis are connected by a central anucleate mass of cytoplasm, the rachis. The early part of spermatogenesis is dominated by the synthesis and growth of membrane-bound vesicles called membranous organelles, which originate from RER-associated Golgi bodies. Following meiosis the spermatids separate from the rachis and their chroinatin, which is no longer bounded by a nuclear envelope, condenses into an arrow-head shape and is extruded to form a tail-like structure. After insemination spermatozoa undergo a profound change called activation. The cytoplasmic region which was previously long and cylindrical becomes spherical and the membranous organelles which lined its perimeter fuse with the plasma membrane and become confined to the posterior hemisphere of the sperm, close to the nuclear tail. The anterior half of the sperm is devoid of organelles but contains many filaments organized into clumps and chains; this region being responsible for amoeboid locomotion of the sperm.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the activities of the saving expeditions of the Institute of Archaeology of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR between the Southern Bug and Molochna rivers, where in the the significant melioration facilities have been constructed. The expeditions have discovered important material from the Eneolithic era, which significantly expanded the source base for its study. During the long period of 1950―1990s, 178 Eneolithic burial mounds, three settlements and several sites were discovered. In the mid-1950s and 1960s, in particular, on the basis of saving expeditions’ materials the attempts to find out the cultural and chronological affiliation of the steppe Eneolithic sites have been made (researches by O. F. Lagodovska, V. M. Danylenko, O. H. Shaposhnykova, D. Ya. Telegin, etc.). Since the 1970s the first cultural and chronological models appeared, which also involved the Eneolithic material from excavations of the saving expeditions (the works of D. Ya. Telegin, V. M. Danylenko, O. H. Shaposhnykova). The Eneolithic material of the late 1960s―1990s came from barrow burials which significantly expanded the possibilities of researchers constructing the cultural-chronological models. From the late 1970s to the 1990s, the main discussions related to the steppe Eneolithic were initiated in the archaeological scientific community, most of which are actual up today. The basis for this was, in particular, materials obtained by saving expeditions of the South of Ukraine. Based on Yu. Ya. Rassamakin’s cultural and chronological model of the steppe Eneolithic we can state that the Eneolithic material, discovered by the saving expeditions, shows all cultural varieties of this era beginning from the early period to the late one. The Skelyanska culture is represented by only three burials of the Novodanylivka type, concentrated in the north of the steppe region. The next was the Stohivska culture, represented in the region by settlements/sites and burials. The number of Middle and Late Eneolithic sites indicates a more active settlement of the region at that time. These periods are represented by burials of the Kvityanska culture and the post-Stohivska group of sites; settlements and burials of the Lower Mykhailivka culture, burials of the Zhyotilovo-Vovchansk type. The material obtained by the saving expeditions also shows the syncretic characteristic in the Late Eneolithic burials.

Abstract:
40 adolescents aged 15–17 years with functional cardiovascular pathology of vegetative origin underwent a 24-hour blood pressure monitoring (using the oscillometric method BPLabVasotens, Peter Telegin LLC, Nizhny Novgorod) with an assessment of central blood pressure parameters and rigidity of the main arteries. The scientists found significantly higher values of central systolic pressure during the day and night hours in the group of adolescents with arterial hypertension (n=13) compared to adolescents with normal blood pressure (n=27). They determined significantly higher values of the pulse wave velocity both during 24 hours and in the day and night hours in the group with arterial hypertension compared to the group of adolescents with normal blood pressure. No differences were found in the parameters of the propagation time of the reflected pulse wave and the augmentation index. The time of the reflected pulse wave propagation was significantly lower at nighttime compared to the daytime. In the group with arterial hypertension, the rate of pulse wave propagation in the aorta correlated only with the values of diastolic pressure over 24 hours and diastolic pressure in the daytime. In the adolescents with normal blood pressure, the pulse wave velocity correlated with systolic and pulse blood pressure. The augmentation index in the group of adolescents with arterial hypertension correlated with diastolic pressure, in contrast to the group of adolescents with normal blood pressure, where such a correlation was not detected.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the reconstruction of the idea of the white version of the second volume of A.N. Tolstoy's trilogy The Road to Calvary , created by the writer in the emigration in 1921-1923. This idea was fundamentally different from the one embodied by A.N. Tolstoy after his return to the USSR. Materials published in 1918 in the Rostov magazine Donskaya Volna ( Don Wave ) are used for the reconstruction. Those materials help to identify Colonel V.K. Manakin as a supposed prototype of one of the main characters, Vadim Roshchin, in the final chapters of the first volume of the trilogy and in the first chapters of the second volume of the white version. The prototype makes it feasible to reconstruct the possible idea of the second volume of the white version of The Road to Calvary . A.N. Tolstoy's notebooks are also used for the reconstruction. The reconstruction of A.N. Tolstoys plan turned out to be more logically consistent compared to the only existing Soviet version of the second and third volumes of the trilogy The Road to Calvary. Both Roshchin and Telegin, in the emigrant version of the first volume of the trilogy act as ideologists of the White Movement, find themselves in the White Armies of Southern Russia, and then in exile. The study shows that the transition of the main characters to the Red Movement in the Soviet version of The Road to Calvary is artistically unconvincing, since it does not correspond to the original plan of A.N. Tolstoy, embodied in the emigrant version of Sisters .

Abstract:
The paper discusses the Early Neolithic pottery from the Western Belarus, pottery of Dubičiai type. The set of its most distinctive features includes organic temper in clay mass, a belt of deep round pits under a rim edge, strokes by round stick (hoofs), slantwise thin grooved lines or slantwise net ornament of such lines. Hypotheses on the origin of Dubičiai type pottery are under discussion as well. According to many scholars, the area of occurrence of Dubičiai type pottery includes Belarusian part of the River Neman region (except the River Viliya basin), the left-bank of the upper Prypiat River basin, the southern Lithuania, the part of the north-eastern Poland, and the northern part of Volhynia. At the same time D.Ya. Telegin, E.N. Titova, G.V. Okhrimenko distinguish the Volhynian culture in the region of the same name. It has many traits analogous to the Prypiat-Neman culture. The scale of differences between the Early Neolithic pottery from Western Polesia and Volhynia and Dubičiai type pottery from the River Neman region allows considering the Volhynian culture as not a separate culture but as a local variant of the Neman culture. Sokołwek type pottery has been discovered at the sites in Podlasie and in Belarusian part of the River Bug region. It is analogous to Dubičiai type pottery by morphology and ornamentation but has less of organic temper in clay mass. Most probably, it is a result of local development of the Early Neolithic traditions in the western part of Prypiat-Neman culture area.

Abstract:
The idea of this research deals with theoretical problems of studying quinones as representatives of natural and synthetic compounds with a huge variety of applications in chemical catalysis, biomedical and technical sciences. For this purpose computational chemistry is chosen as an advanced tool for evaluating electronic energies in gase phase for a series of simple quinones, naphthoquinones and anthraquinones as parent compounds for more complicated ones. Ionization potentials and electron affinities (IPs and EAs) of 88 quinones are calculated by the use of B3LYP level of density functional theory (DFT) with different basis sets, and on this base the validation of several databases for electronic energies of quinones is done. The databases for EAs include published results of measurements of absolute electron affinities of pi charge transfer complex acceptors and those determined as relative values from electron transfer equilibrium studies. Non-linear quadratic correlation was found for relationship between calculated and experiment values of electron affinities. Analysis of the relative deviation between obtained calculated results and the three experimental databases indicated the high quality of the database proposed by Hilal et al. based on electron transfer equilibrium studies. The results found in the research are applicable for validation of computational methods and experimental data for electronic energies of quinones.Forcitation:Li Sun, Jianhua Ran, Cong Zhang, Telegin F.Yu. Abstract:
The problems regarding hunter-gatherer/early farmer interactions are quite an important topic in southeast European archaeology. According to the available data, the two economic subsistence systems have coexisted for some 2000 years during the 6th–4th millennia cal BC (Telegin 1985; Lillie et al., 2001). In some areas, hunter-gatherer and early farmer sites are located just a few kilometers apart. The Southern Buh River valley has yielded evidence of Linear Pottery culture, early Trypillia and Trypillia B1 Neolithic settlements as well as hunter-gatherer sites with pottery attributable to the so-called sub-Neolithic or para-Neolithic (Haskevych et al., 2019; Kiosak et al., 2021). Trial-trenches have been opened within some of these sites, which have been radiocarbon-dated from Bern University laboratory (LARA). Soil samples for micromorphological analysis have been collected from these sites to interpret their paleogenetic formation. The soil development is attested since, at least, the beginning of the 5th mill BC, followed by the developed of chernozem soils, which was interrupted by an erosional episode in the end of 5th millennium BC. The available data show that the soils of early farmers arable as are the present day ones. The early farmers were able to exploit relatively heavy soils to cultivate wheat and barley as early as 5250–5050 cal BC. In contrast, the sites of ceramic hunter-gatherers were often located on the soils which formed under wet conditions along seasonally flooded riverbanks, which were almost unsuitable for agricultural practices.

Abstract:
Introduction. The best diagnostic approach for early detection of vascular remodeling in prenosological stage of development the main cardiovascular (CV) diseases has not yet been determined, which inhibits effective vascular screening in the youth population. Objective of the present study was to assess the possible impact of risk factors (RF) on central aortic pressure (CAP) and its augmentation index in young age. Materials and Methods. A total of 80 students (38 girls, 42 boys) were examined in University Center of Student's Health for the presence of major cardiovascular RF and evaluation of CAP in the office format using diagnostic complex BPLab (company «Peter Telegin», Nizhny Novgorod, Russia) on technology Vasotens. In addition to BP in the brachial arterial (BA), the systolic aortic BP (SYSao), diastolic aortic BP (DIAao), index of augmentation in aorta (AIxao), pulse pressure amplification (PPA) and other parameters were analyzed. Surveyed persons were divided into two groups, taking into account the lack of RF ( 26 persons ) and their presence (54 persons). Results. Statistically significant increase in systolic, pulse, average pressure in the aorta and index of augmentation of pulse pressure was revealed in persons with cardiovascular RFs in comparison with those without the specified RFs. Among peripheral hemodynamic parameters, significant difference between the groups was is noted in the value of average pressure. The profile of various options of increase CAP in students as systemic, hidden and false prehypertension / hypertension substantially depends on presence of RF. Conclusion. Obtained data have confirmed the idea about valuability of using the assessment of CAP in Centers of youth's health and Student's policlinics when carrying checkups for the purpose of early detection of CV risk among young people and timely conduct personalized measures for prevention.

An office blood pressure (BP) were assessed using an automatic BP monitor OMRON M2 Basic. Twenty-four-hour ambulotary BP monitoring (ABPM) on the brachial artery and aorta was carried out for 24 hours using the BpLAB system (OOO Petr Telegin) with an integrated Vasotens system. Depending on BP, patients were divided into groups: with HNBP and hypertension. Statistical processing and comparative analysis of the obtained data were carried out.Results. HNBP group consisted of 47 patients, while the HTN group consisted of 65 patients. The mean age of patients was 34,7±3,2 years. The parameters of daytime and nighttime peripheral BP had significant differences between the HNBP and HTN groups. Aortic BP monitoring revealed following differences: in patients with HTN, central BP values during the day and at night reflected higher values compared to patients from the HNBP group. The number of dippers for peripheral systolic blood pressure (SBP) was more by a quarter (p=0,038) in the HNBP group than in the HTN group. There were no differences in the reduction of diastolic blood pressure (DBP). The reduction in aortic SBP between the groups of HNBP and HTN were comparable. Among hypertensive patients, DBP dippers on the aorta were 20% higher (p=0,04) than in the HNBP group. According to the augmentation and the amplification index reduced to heart rate, there were no significant differences between the groups.Conclusion. Intergroup and intragroup differences were revealed depending on the types of 24-hour profile depending on peripheral and central BP. Abstract:
Study Objective: To define the predictive value of arterial stiffness parameters in the development of intradialytic hypertension (IDH) in patients undergoing long-term HD. Study Design: Prospective study. Material and Methods. The prospective study included 45 patients undergoing long-term HD. An IDH criterion was an increase in systolic blood pressure >10 mm Hg after the HD in more than 4 out of 6 sessions during the period preceding 24-hour blood pressure monitoring (24BPM). Arterial stiffness parameters were assessed using a Vasotens-24 BPLab software package (by Peter Telegin, Russia). We recorded the demographics of patients and physical examination results, lab test results, duration of HD, concomitant cardiovascular diseases, and medications taken. For data analysis we used Statistics 26 application package (IBM SPSS). Study Results. The mean age of patients was 51 [41; 61] years old; HD duration was 4.5 [1.1; 7.8] years. IDH was recorded in 20 patients; the multivariate correlation analysis showed that IDH was associated with the patients’ age (HR = 3.78; 95% CI 1.29–11.04), with the augmentation index AIx (HR = 7.75; 95% CI 2.65–22.7). Inverse correlation was observed between IDH development and reflection wave transmission time — RWTT100–60 (HR = 0.27; 95% CI 0.14–0.53), presence of diabetic nephropathy (HR = 0.34; 95% CI 0.094–1.251), residual diuresis (HR = 0.43; 95% CI 0.21–0.87), and albumin level (HR = 0.12; 95% CI 0.02–0.79). Inclusion of arterial stiffness parameters into the mathematical model increased its predictive ability from AUC = 0.886 to AUC = 0.978. Conclusion. In this study, AIx ≥ –6.5% and RWTT100–60 ≤ 134.5 m/s were associated with a higher frequency of IDH, which can be a sign of the leading role of progressive artery stiffness in the development of intradialytic cardiovascular complications. Abstract:
Background. Anxiety-depressive disorders (ADD) afflict almost half of patients with arterial hypertension (AH). AH aggravation by psychoemotional disorders causes a more severe illness and rapid target organ injury, particularly, the increased arterial stiffness and central aortic pressure (CAP). However, the prospects of combined antihypertensive-antidepressant treatments in AH-ADD patients remain largely unexplored.Objectives. The effect assessment in combined antihypertensive-psychocorrective therapy on circadian blood pressure (BP), vascular stiffness and CAP, anxiety and depression in women with AH and ADD.Methods. The study enrolled 60 AH-ADD women randomised between two cohorts. Cohort 1 received a fixed combination of valsartan and hydrochlorothiazide, bisoprolol and sertraline antidepressant; cohort 2 only had same combined AH therapy. Past 24 weeks of trial, all patients had a general clinical examination and daily blood pressure monitoring (DBPM) with BpLab Vasotens (Petr Telegin Ltd., Russia) and control of daily BP, CAP and vascular stiffness. The psychometric HADS and CES-D scales were used along with psychiatric counselling.Results. Past four weeks of treatment, the target blood pressure (TBP) was revealed in 60 and 36.7% patients, and in 90 and 66.6% — past eight weeks in cohorts 1 and 2, respectively. Cohort 1 vs. 2 required a lower valsartan dose to attain TBP. Past six months, both cohorts showed improved main DBPM values reflecting vascular stiffness and CAP. However, a statistical decrease in nocturnal central and peripheral BP, as well as improved BP variability and vascular stiffness were registered at antidepressant use. A normalised daily BP profile was significantly more frequent in cohort 1. In addition, sertraline had a significant ADD-reductive impact.Conclusion. An antidepressant-combined conventional AH therapy in AH-ADD women facilitated a faster TBP achievement at lower AH agent doses and the significantly improved DBPM (nocturnal specifically), arterial stiffness and CAP values. A sertraline treatment improved the psychoemotional patient state.

Obesity is associated with a high risk of cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, an urgent task of preventive medicine is to search for markers indicating the early development of cardiovascular pathology in young people in order to develop preventive measures. The aim of the study. To study macro- and microhemodynamics in young people with normal and elevated body mass index (BMI).Methods. After receiving informed consent, we evaluated microhemodynamics using Doppler ultrasound (Angiodin-PC (BIOSS, Russia); 16 MHz sensor) and macrohemodynamics by daily blood pressure monitoring (MnSDP-3 (BPLab, Peter Telegin LLC, Russia)) in students (20.05 ± 1.46 years old) who did not play sports in the period from 2019 to 2021. The subjects were divided into 2 groups according to their BMI: group 1 (control) – BMI ≤ 25 (average age 20.5 ± 0.7 years; average weight 59.47 ± 8.26 kg); group 2 – BMI ≥ 25 (average age 20.12 ± 1.73 years; average weight 83.8 ± 9.59 kg).Results. It has been proven that already at a young age, an increased BMI adversely affects the elasticity of the vascular wall. We registered a statistically significant increase in the peripheral resistance index (RI; Purcello index) (p = 0.022,) and the Stewart index (SD) (p = 0.0034) which are reflecting vascular wall remodeling. There is also a statistically significant increase in average blood pressure per day, day/night against the background of increased BMI. An insufficient degree of nocturnal decrease in systolic blood pressure is revealed, as well as an increase in pressure load and blood pressure variability.Conclusion. Since changes in the structure and function of the vessels of the microcirculatory bed are a precursor to preclinical disorders of systemic blood flow, the introduction of high-frequency Doppler ultrasound into the protocol of examination of people having metabolic syndrome will allow us to assess the functional status of large and small arteries and to identify early vascular disorders.

Abstract:
AbstractAim. Assessment of vascular age by volumetric sphygmography and its relationship with the main clinical and laboratory parameters in patients with arterial hypertension.Materials and methods. 46 patients with arterial hypertension were examined, including 26 women (56.5%) and 20 men (43.5%). The mean age was 67.0 [60.0; 73.5] years. Clinical and laboratory parameters were analyzed, including body mass index, lipidogram, fibrinogen, blood creatinine levels, and glomerular filtration rate. Vascular age was assessed using the BPLab-Vasotens apparatus (LLC Petr Telegin, Russia).Results. Vascular age in patients with arterial hypertension was 69.0 [64.0;76.0] years and did not differ statistically from the passport age (p>0.05). Positive relationships were found between vascular age and the level of pulse pressure (r=0.65, p<0.001), index of reflection (augmentation) of pulse wave growth (r=0.29, p=0.04). No relationship was found between the stage of arterial hypertension, the presence of comorbid pathology, body mass index, lipid profile, creatinine, glomerular filtration rate, fibrinogen, and vascular age. In men, vascular age was less than in women – 65.5 [59.0; 70.5] years and 72.5 [67.0; 78.0] years, respectively (p = 0.02). In the group of women, the augmentation index of pulse wave growth and the level of fibrinogen were higher than in the group of men.Conclusions. There were no statistically significant differences in passport and vascular age, determined by volumetric sphygmography, in patients with hypertension at various stages of the disease, depending on the presence of comorbid pathology, lipid status, and renal dysfunction. When analyzing hemodynamic parameters, direct links were established between vascular age and pulse arterial pressure, the index of reflection (augmentation) of the pulse wave increase. In the group of women with a higher indicator of vascular age, an increase in the augmentation index of the increase in pulse wave and fibrinogen was revealed.

Abstract:
Aim. To establish the prevalence of masked uncontrolled hypertension (HTN) (MUH) in patients with diabetes or impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) and determine its clinical and hemodynamic characteristics.Material and methods. The study involved 87 patients who received regular antihypertensive therapy for hypertension and had established diabetes or IGT. The mean age of patients was 62,6±9,9 years, of which 51,7% were women, 48,3% — men. Type 2 diabetes was revealed in 77,7%, IGT — 22,8% of patients. For 24-hour blood pressure monitoring, BpLAB system (OOO Petr Telegin) was used; blood pressure (BP) was determined in the brachial artery, central blood pressure — in the aorta. We analyzed risk factors and target organ damage. The results were processed using the Excel Microsoft Office 2007 package and the Statistica 6.0 and 10.0 package from StatSoft, Inc (USA).Results. Uncontrolled hypertension was revealed in 59,8%, MUH — in 18,4%, controlled HTN — 21,8% of patients. Mean daytime and mean nighttime systolic BP in patients with MUH and uncontrolled HTN were comparable. Patients with controlled hypertension compared with MUH had lower mean day- and nighttime aortic BP by 27,1% (p<0,01) and 16,8% (p<0,01), respectively. Aortic BP was comparable in individuals with MUH and uncontrolled HTN. Asymptomatic hyperuricemia was more common in patients with uncontrolled HTN compared with MUH and controlled hypertension by 29,3% and 41,8%, respectively. With MUH, compared with controlled HTN, we revealed a higher incidence of stroke by 18,8%, a decrease in glomerular filtration rate <60 ml/min by 17,5%, albuminuria by 18,8%, left ventricular hypertrophy by 2,6 times.Conclusion. Only 41,2% of patients with diabetes and prediabetes achieve the target office BP level, while every second of these patients has MUH. MUH, compared with controlled HTN, is characterized by a higher incidence of stroke, kidney (decrease in glomerular filtration rate <60 ml/min and albuminuria) and heart damage (left ventricular hypertrophy).

Abstract:
Thirty eight years ago the set of bronze tools found near the Starosillia village in Gorodyshche district of Cherkasy region has been published. This Late Bronze Age deposit remains one of the most known in the region. Three «celts», sleeve chisel and cast bracelet were preserved till the present time (fig. 1). These finds are kept in the Cherkasy Museum of local history. Starosillia deposit is important in terms of identification of main intercultural connections and contacts in the late 2nd mil. BC. The evidence, obtained over the last several dozen years, makes possible the new attribution of finds, their typology, area of spread and dating. Besides this, new publication of Starosillia deposit with drawing and photos of a high quality (it should be noted that the article of D. Telegin is lacking the drawing of one «celt») is required. This is why we need to turn back to the deposit. Two «celts» belong (fig. 3, 4) to the Dichevo type (Oinacu variant) according to V. Dergachev. Their origin is linked to Lower Danube center, from where these tools were spread in the North Pontic region, the area of Noua and Sabatynivka (later — early Bilozerka) cultures. Double-eyelet «celt» (fig. 2) belongs to Kardashynka type according to V. Dergachev. Such tools were used in late Sabatynivka and early Bilozerka time. In case of the analyzed region, such tools are referred to populations of Bilozerka culture, while the related molds were mainly found in the Lower Dnieper region. This is also the case of sleeve chisels (fig. 5) which are being similar to the find from Starosillia. Cast bracelet (fig. 6) from the deposit is typical for Sabatynivka and Bilozerka cultures, from which such bracelets could spread to the area of Bilogrudivka culture. Thus, the deposition of Starosillia deposit may be dated to the early Bilozerka time (HaA1), 12th century BC, when the Middle Dnieper region was inhabited by populations of Bilogrudivka culture.
